Abstract:
New aspects of the theory of ideal associated mixtures related to a differentiation between formed cyclic and linear dimers are discussed. A mathematical analysis is presented for the dimerization model, A + B + A2, the continuous association (Mecke–Kempter) model, [Formula: see text], both coupled with the cyclic dimmer → linear dimer transformation and for the unsymmetrical (mixed) dimer formation model, A + B + A2 + B2 + AB. Introduction of the standard reaction enthalpies and volumes associated with transformations of dimers leads to a considerable change in behavior and symmetry properties of the excess thermodynamic functions. In terms of the modified Mecke–Kempter model, a consistent representation of the excess Gibbs energy of mixing GE, heat of mixing HE, and excess molar volume VE is reported for the acetic acid – water system at 298.15 K. Key words: association, dimerization, linear dimers, cyclic dimers, hydrogen bonding, carboxylic acids, alcohols, aqueous solutions.

Abstract:
The biomass gasification process is a way to obtain combustible syn-gas through combustion of biomass in a closed reactor with the help of air from a compressed blower. Without the help of air gas formation process is not possible, the combustion in the furnace must have air that can start a fire. The tool for supplying air is a pressure blower. The purpose of this study was to obtain a stoichiometric air and biomass mixture in the rice husk gasification process. With the stoichiometric air fuel ratio (AFR) in the rice husk gasification process, it will produce a perfect flammable syn-gas.The method used in this research is to change the rice husk solid through the gasification process. The gas released in the gasification process will be varied at the blower speed with or without using a dimmer. From the test results, it can be seen in the syn-gas output from the reactor. on dimmer 1 the inlet airspeed is 3.5 m / s, on dimmer 2 the airspeed is 4.0 m / s. In dimmer 3 the air velocity is 4.5 m / s and in dimmer 4 the air velocity produced is 5.0 m / s From the results of testing the air velocity of each variation that enters the reactor only air velocity 4.5 m / s and 5.0 m / s or in dimmers 3 and 4 which can produce flammable syn-gas.

Abstract:
e11513 Background: Human epidermal growth factor receptors and their ligands are involved in carcinogenesis. Four ERBB receptors have been identified; ERBB1 (EB1), ERBB2 (EB2), ERBB3 (EB3) and ERBB4 (EB4). EB2 is over-expressed/amplified in 20-30% of BCa. Molecularly targeting agents, such as pertuzumab (P), in combination with standard therapy have shown important clinical results in EB2 (+) BCa patients. The aim of the project is to evaluate the expression/localization and dimerization pattern of EB1, EB2, EB3, EB4 in breast cancer cell lines (BCCLs) with or without heregulin-1 (He) and various EB2, EB3 and He inhibitors. The identification of a molecular phenotype of low-expressing and acquired resistant high-expressing EB2 BCa will enhance the targeted use of EB2 inhibitors in certain BCa patients Methods: Using confocal microscopy, localization/expression patterns were studied for EB1, EB2, EB3, EB4 in various human BCCs; here presented in MCF7 and SKBR3. Additionally, the dimerization pattern of EB2, EB3 and/or EB4 was studied with and without stimulation with He plus or minus P (kindly provided by Genentech, US). The dimers formation was studied using proximity ligation assay and immunofluorescence (DUOLINK; OLINK Biosciences, Sweden). Results: In MCF7-He stimulated cells EB2/EB3, EB2/EB4 and EB1/EB3 dimmers showed a 3-fold decrease formation compared to untreated cells. The EB1/EB4 dimmers were not significantly affected. After P addition in MCF7 cells a 3-fold decrease of dimmer formation was noticed compared to untreated cells for EB2/EB3, EB2/EB4 and EB1/EB3. The EB1/EB4 formation seemed only slightly affected by P. SKBR3-He stimulated cells resulted in a similar decrease of EB2/EB3, EB2/EB4 and EB1/EB3 dimmer formation compared to untreated cells. In the same BCLL, EB1/EB4 dimmer did not show any decrease after He treatment compared to untreated control cells. Further results quantified and analyzed for statistical significance will be shown Conclusions: The addition of P seems to block ligand-dependent heterodimerization of EB2 with other ERBB family members, such as EB3 and EB4.

Abstract:
The development of science and technology has changed human civilization a lot. One of these technologies is control technology. Direct voltage source control is simple enough to be implemented by simply setting the voltage using a variable resistor. In contrast to the implementation in circuits with alternating current sources, a dimmer circuit is needed to control the voltage. Dimmer is an electronic circuit that modifies the form of a pure AC (Alternative Current) signal into a modulated signal so that the output voltage can be adjusted. The more complex dimmer uses PWM (Pulse Width Modulaion) as its controller. This PWM dimmer is able to produce a small power level, so that control becomes more precise. In this study, it was found that the application of a regulator as a voltage regulation based on internally triggered TRIAC with the application of the dimmer method. The results showed that the internally triggered TRIAC was able to control AC voltage well

Abstract:
Background. Locally advanced breast cancer places approximately 40–60% from all the new cases of breast cancer in developing countries. And this kind of breast cancer requires a combined therapy, i.e. chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy. Nowadays, the response of chemotherapy is evaluated from the reduction in tumor volume. There is also another parameter. Since half of patients with breast cancer show abnormalities of routine blood clotting factors, D–dimmer which is a fibrin degeneration product from vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is used. There is an increase of plasma D–dimmer level among 86% of breast cancer patients. There is a strong relationship amongst serum VEGF and platelets count in breast cancer patient. Method. To analyze the correlation, we did an evaluation of the tumor volume, platelets count, and plasma D– dimmer among patients with locally advanced breast cancer, before and after cyclophospamide, doxorubicin, 5–fluorouracil (FAC) combined neoadjuvant chemotherapy. This was a prospective study enrolling 36 subjects. The data is obtained from the history, physical examination, laboratory and or radiological exams as it found in medical record. To have a normal distribution of the subjects, a Shapiro–Wilk test was done. Pearson correlation test was applied in evaluation of the relationship of tumor volume, platelet count and plasma D–dimmer level after chemotherapy. Data was analyzed using the SPSS program ver.19. Results. Tumor volume decreases till 153.811 cm3, the platelet level decreased till 4,958.333/mm3 and the plasma D–dimmer level also decreased up to101.389 ng/ml after FAC regimen. A significant relationship was found in platelet counts and tumor volume after chemotherapy with r of 0,391 (p=0,018). The relationship amongst the change in platelet level and plasma D–dimmer level showed a plateau which is quiet high with the value of r=0,473 (p=0,024). Conclusion. There is a positive correlation of the tumor volume, the platelet level, and plasma D–dimmer level after combined FAC neoadjuvant chemotherapy

Abstract:
Non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasma jet (NTAPPJ) was shown as a promising tool for sterilization, treatment of chronic wounds & tumors. A portable and facile NTAPPJ system will broaden the application of plasma for many other biomedical applications. This paper demonstrates the feasibility of a customized dimmer controllable atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ) in treating HeLa cells. A plasma torch was energized at 8 kVpp and 35 kHz from a neon transformer and discharged with argon gas-producing plasma plume of various gas species. The output intensity of the plasma discharge was adjusted by the voltage input from the dimmer controller circuit. Between 60 – 220 V, a different power output of the dimmer can be varied between 8.4 to 83.6 W, to generate different intensities of non-thermal APPJ (NTAPPJ). The NTAPPJ was then applied to HeLa cells for 20 sec & it was found that cells reduced their adhesion at a dimmer power < 20 W but stayed viable. This progressed to observations of damaged cell body when the power was increased beyond 20 W & the cell membranes shattered when the power was up to 83.6 W. This was due to the ultraviolet rays and reactive oxygen species (ROS), that induced detrimental effects to the cells. The controllable NTAPPJ system, based on dimmer control, induced different levels of effects on the biophysical structures of cells, ranging from reduced cell spread to apoptosis and eventually cell membrane disintegration.

Abstract:
<span lang="EN-US">The feasibility of a dimmer and neon transformer to provide power control to the atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ) is presented in this paper. The standard neon transformer was previously shown applicable to power up a plasma torch to generate plasma irradiation of an APPJ at 8.64kv and 35kHz. However, the plasma emission is not controllable. In this study, a lamp dimmer was proposed to function as a power controller to the neon transformer which drives the generation of plasma and discharged with argon gas. With the dimmer output voltage adjustable from 60 - 220V, the power and current of the dimmer were variable from 8.4 to 83.6 W and 0.08 and 0.38 A, respectively. The temperature measured at the quartz tube and sample exposure site were less than 50oC suggested that the APPJ produced were non-thermal. A simple test by exposing plasma plume to a leaf sample showed that the plasma produced were non-damaging to the leaf. This portable system can provide control to the APPJ and applicable for bioengineering studies. </span>

Abstract:
Gene-regulatory networks achieve complex mappings of inputs to outputs through mechanisms that are poorly understood. We found that in the galactose-responsive pathway in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, the decision to activate the transcription of genes encoding pathway components is controlled independently from the expression level, resulting in behavior resembling that of a mechanical dimmer switch. This was not a direct result of chromatin regulation or combinatorial control at galactose-responsive promoters; rather, this behavior was achieved by hierarchical regulation of the expression and activity of a single transcription factor. Hierarchical regulation is ubiquitous, and thus dimmer switch regulation is likely a key feature of many biological systems. Dimmer switch gene regulation may allow cells to fine-tune their responses to multi-input environments on both physiological and evolutionary time scales.

Abstract: Public street lighting (PSL) is an element or component that must be present in every road, functioning as street lighting at night for the safety of motorists. Most of public street lighting is lit at night through morning continuously without a system of monitoring and control, which is consuming electricity. Therefore in this study a prototype system was designed to monitor and control public street lighting based on IoT and Android. It use Dimmer as a microcontroller, Dimmer as a voltage regulation, and LDR sensor for taking light intensity. Conventionally, public street lighting only turns on at night and turn off during the day. Abstract:
The prognostic predictors of an unfavorable course of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and its complications with manifestations of pneumonia and the need for oxygen support and connection to the invasive mechanical ventilation were studied. Clinical and laboratory associations in hospitalized patients with COVID-19 were evaluated, the possible predictors of connection to the invasive mechanical ventilator in 37 patients were identified. Patients were hospitalized on day 6.65±3.32 of the disease, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) depended on the severity of the disease and response to therapy. Positive significant correlations between the level of growth stimulating factor (ST2) and D-Dimer, creatine phosphokinase MB fraction (CPK-MB) and D-dimmer, CPK-MB and ST2 were revealed, as well as of ferritin and D-Dimer with ST2. There were no significant associations with troponin. C-reactive protein (CRP) probably correlated with CPK-MB and ferritin. The International Normalized Ratio (INR) indicator had significant correlations with D-dimmer, ST2 and CPK-MB. Cox regression analysis showed that the survival curve has a stepwised nature and the highest risk of deterioration, which requires mechanical ventilation, was noted on the 6th day of illness (95.0% CI = 0.9-1.0, with an average SpO2 level =87.3%). ROC analysis showed the presence of a possible relationship between D-Dimer, ST2 protein, CPK-MB and the risk of developing a critical condition requiring mechanical ventilation in patients. The study showed that COVID-19 disease has a phase nature, when after the first phase of the disease, the pulmonary phase and hypercytokinemia progress in some patients with the development of hypoxia, a decrease in SpO2. Therefore, the identification of markers of disease progression is essential for predicting the course and possible prevention of the development of acute respiratory distress syndrome with the use of invasive mechanical ventilation.

Abstract:
Crystals of 2,2-dibutyl-1,3,2-dioxastannane (1) are orthorhombic, of space group Pnma, with a = 7.663(3), b = 18.437(2), c = 9.277(4) Å, Z = 4, R = 0.0568 (Rw = 0.0551) for 1183 independent reflections with I > 3σ(I). Compound 1 is a polymer in which each monomer unit is joined to the next by a four-membered (SnO)2 ring. The Sn—O bond lengths inside the monomer units average 2.04 Å while those between monomers average 2.57 Å. The mirror plane of the crystal contains the atoms in the four-membered rings and the other oxygen atoms. Two of the three remaining carbon atoms in the six-membered rings of the monomer units are close to the mirror plane. The other carbon atom is disordered above and below the plane. It was shown by 119Sn NMR spectroscopy that solutions of 1 contain mixtures of oligomers that consist mainly of dimers, trimers, and tetramers in chloroform-d. ΔG0 values for dimmer–trimer equilibria and dimmer–tetramer equilibria of −2.5 and −1.5 kcal mol−1 were obtained from integration of low temperature 119Sn NMR spectra. These values favour the higher oligomers slightly less than those for 2,2-dibutyl-1,3,2-dioxastannolane. Keywords: 1,3,2-dioxastannanes, stannylene acetals. Abstract:
Reactive aluminum alkoxide (ASB, aluminium sec-butoxide) was chelated using β-diketone (EAA, ethyl acetoacetate) in order to gain control over rapid hydrolysis in the course of the sol-gel process. Derived chelates were analysed using several NMR spectroscopic techniques: one-dimensional 1H, 13C, 27Al NMR and two-dimensional COSY, HSQC and DOSY. The NMR analysis enabled identification of the formed chelate species, as well as determination of their quantitative relationships. Several complexation products were observed: tris-chelated monomer, Al(EAA)3, bis-chelated dimmer, Al2(OnBu)4(EAA) 2, tris-chelated dimmer, Al2(OnBu)3(EAA)3, tetra-chelated dimmer, Al2(OnBu)2(EAA)4, and monochelated trimer, Al3(OnBu)8(EAA). Of the formed oligomer compounds, this is the first evidence of Al2(OR)3L3 in any alkoxide and β-ketoester or β-diketone combination. Aluminium sec-butoxide and ethyl acetoacetate complexes Al2(OnBu)4(EAA) 2 and Al2(OnBu)2(EAA)4 were also observed for the first time. With the increase of the EAA/ASB ratio the coordination of aluminium shifts towards six, whereas above the EAA/ASB ratio of 2.5 solely six-coordinated aluminium exists.
