Abstract:

Abstract:
The article discusses the most important threads of the monograph Things in Poems edited by Josef Hrdlička and Mariana Machová, (Prague: Karolinum Press, 2022) in the context of studies on objectivism. Attention is paid to the evolution in the meaning of the object poem (Dinggedicht) as well as the status of the word itself, which becomes autonomous from the concept behind its material form. The case of poetry by, among others, Francis Ponge and Miron Białoszewski was briefly discussed.

Abstract:
The central concepts of Rilke’s things and figures are considered in connection with the ethical and aesthetic attitudes of Rilke, which were formed in the spiritual situation of Jugendstil, which expressed the aesthetic will to return the personality to the integrity of the life world as a unity of nature and culture and thus overcome the loneliness and fear of the personality of the modern era. The thing is experienced by Rilke as an intermediary between man and the world in its deep foundations. The poetics of Dinggedicht is shown as the poetics of revealing the phenomenon of a thing in the contexts of the existential experience of a large continuum of human culture.

Abstract:

Abstract:
As the modern world has seemed an increasingly material one, and so increasingly thingly, the very reality of things has often--and from many different perspectives--seemed to elude us. Questions about what things are, and how they mean, questions about how things are to be circumscribed (for example) in epistemological, ethical, aesthetic, and political terms, have arguably become--across the course of modernity (and beyond)--both increasingly pressing and increasingly vexed. -- In this extremely broad context, the contributions to the current Special Issue examine specific approaches to things from the later nineteenth century to today within the literary, philosophical, and psychoanalytic discourses. The foci range from the descriptive representationalism of nineteenth century German poetic realism to the monumentalization of everyday objects in postcolonial fiction; from the poetics of the Dinggedicht in Rilkean modernism to the Anglo-American imagist doctrine of "no ideas but in things" and the disruptions of this doctrine in contemporary German and American poetry; from Husserl's call "to the things themselves" to the Derridian displacements of the Heideggerian "thing" and on to the most recent developments in "object-oriented metaphysics"; from the Freudian notion of the unconscious as comprising "representations-of-things" to the Lacanian rereading of the lost object as das Ding.

Abstract:
Bár Dosztojevszkij hatása evidenciaként szerepel Rilke kritikai recepciójában, a Dosztojevszkij-élmény esztétikai vonatkozásait tárgyaló elemzések jóformán nem születtek, szemben a költő Oroszországhoz fűződő viszonyát taglaló számos tanulmánnyal. Holott különösen izgalmas kérdésiránya lehetne ez a Rilke-kutatásnak, hiszen a költő orosz kultúrához való viszonya köztudottan textuálisan meghatározott. Oroszország-képe elsősorban korai Tolsztoj és Dosztojevszkij olvasatain alapszik, az orosz világhoz fűződő viszonya pedig nagy szerepet töltött be saját irodalomesztétikájának formálódásában. Meglátásom szerint Rilke Oroszország-képe egyúttal a költő Dosztojevszkij-képét is magában rejti, hiszen a Dosztojevszkij-élmény Rilke Oroszországtól való megszólítottságának „hermeneutikai szituációjaként” (Gadamer) szolgált. Ezért dolgozatom egyfelől arra a kérdésre fókuszál, mennyiben árnyalja az osztrák költő művészetkoncepciójáról alkotott eddigi képünket, ha azt Dosztojevszkij alakjának meghatározó szerepe felől olvassuk. Dosztojevszkij művészetének mely aspektusai állnak a regényeit olvasó Rilke érdeklődésének középpontjában?

Abstract:

Abstract:
v anglickém jazyce This thesis is based on the Kurt Oppert's term "Dinggedicht" (in English "object-poem" or "thing- poem"), through which it views the transformations within the conceptualization of the subject and things in modern poetry. Apart from poems associated with the name of R. M. Rilke, thingness is also seen from the perspective of the functional use of the object in a poem (e.g. a thing as a tool of characterization orironization), whichis related to theuse ofobjects in figurativelanguage - the thing as a part of the metaphor, simile or allegory. As part of the definition of a thing-poem, the thesis also deals with the issue of subject-object relationship, which leads also to the category of a lyrical "I" in the literary theory. The thesis is based on individual poems which represent a concrete, prototypical way of dealing with the subject in poetry. These poems are delimited by the second half of the 19th century and the first two decades of the 20th century. The thesis is not based on strictly defined national literature, but it considers the German, French and Czech context in the comparative perspective.
