Głubczyce area covers southern part of Opole Voivodship. It is bordered with the Czech Republic in the south and west. From 1038 or 1039 this territory was taken away from Poland and since then it belonged to the Czech Republic. From 1526 it was under Habsburg Monarchy. Signal crayfish is native to north-western part of North America and has become an invasive species in Poland after being introduced for economic reasons. It was already recorded in several dozen locations, mostly in northern Poland. The contribution presents the first locality of signal crayfish <i>Pacifastacus leniusculus </i>in the Odra River in Lower Silesia. A synanthropic locality of the pokeweed was found near the village Jankowice Wielkie (Olszanka commune, Brzeg district, Opole Silesia province, SW Poland) on 27.07.2022 (Figs 1, 2). Fruiting individuals were observed in a dry ditch with a row of old mulberry Morus alba on a roadsides near a poultry farm. To date, it has never been recorded in the wild in south-western Poland. Phytolacca americana can be considered as an ephemerophyte, a neophyte or as a causal alien plant in Poland.

The aim of the study was to present the classification of rural areas in Poland in terms of the level of human capital in 2016. The level of human capital has been evaluated using composite index, to the construction of which six partial indicators were used. The highest level of human capital in rural areas was in voivodeships: Mazovia, Greater Poland, Lesser Poland, Pomerania, and Lower Silesia. The paper presents a water plant community new to Poland - <em>Nymphaeetum albae</em> Vollmar 1947 em. Oberd. in Oberd. et al. 1967, belonging to the i class. It was discovered in fishponds in Pokój near Namysłów, Lasowice Małe near Kluczbork and small ponds in Staniszcze Małe near Opole in Silesia (SW Poland).
