Głubczyce area covers southern part of Opole Voivodship. It is bordered with the Czech Republic in the south and west. From 1038 or 1039 this territory was taken away from Poland and since then it belonged to the Czech Republic. From 1526 it was under Habsburg Monarchy. A synanthropic locality of the pokeweed was found near the village Jankowice Wielkie (Olszanka commune, Brzeg district, Opole Silesia province, SW Poland) on 27.07.2022 (Figs 1, 2). Fruiting individuals were observed in a dry ditch with a row of old mulberry Morus alba on a roadsides near a poultry farm. To date, it has never been recorded in the wild in south-western Poland. Phytolacca americana can be considered as an ephemerophyte, a neophyte or as a causal alien plant in Poland.

It was discovered in fishponds in Pokój near Namysłów, Lasowice Małe near Kluczbork and small ponds in Staniszcze Małe near Opole in Silesia (SW Poland). Floristic composition and ecological requirements of this association are presented in the paper. &lt;em&gt;Nymphaeetum albae&lt;/em&gt; is considered to be a rare and endangered plant community in Europe.
