Abstract:
Dimethylamine (DMA) is a toxicant commonly present in foods, air and water. Diospyros species is a group of plants being reported to contain several bioactive agents. The study was aimed at investigating the biological activities of Diospyros chloroxylon leaf extract (DCLE) on DMA-induced toxicity in liver of Wistar rats. The DMA significantly (p < 0.05) reduced serum Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase activities by 43.9% and 60.6%, while malondialdehyde (MDA) was found to be significantly (p < 0.05) elevated by 150% compared with controls. Abstract:
The heavy metals such as chromium (Cr), lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) are considered as serious toxicants and act as carcinogenic agents that cause serious cancers to humans. The use of these heavy metals drastically increased in various industrial applications and subsequently increased the risk of contamination of these heavy metals in soil, water etc. To minimize the negative effects of these heavy metals, there is a need to reduce these heavy metals concentrations in environment samples. Hence this study focused to fabricate iron nanoparticles using Diospyros chloroxylon (Roxb.) for the remov

Background: Natural compounds have emerged as promising alternatives, owing to their low toxicity and potential efficacy. This study investigates the anticancer effects of Diospyros chloroxylon Roxb. leaf extract on Ehrlich Ascites Carcinoma (EAC) in vitro and in vivo. Methods: The in vitro cytotoxicity of D. chloroxylon extract was assessed using the MTT assay on various cancer cell lines, including EAC, A549 (lung), MCF-7 (breast), DU 145 (prostate), HT 29 (colon) and Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVECs). The in vivo study involved the treatment of EAC-bearing mice with two doses

Abstract:
Plants produce secondary metabolites, including flavonoids and tannins, as a detoxification response. These polyphenolic compounds possess strong structural properties that neutralize excessive free radicals, enhancing the body's defence mechanisms. Scientific evidence supports their adaptogenic potential in managing stress-related chronic diseases. In this study, the ethanolic extract of Diospyros chloroxylon Roxb. studied for phytochemical profile using qualitative, quantitative, and analytical methods using preliminary phytochemical tests, total phenolic, flavonoid, and tannin content, and
