The direct CP asymmetry (aCP) for the process B+→π+K0 is studied including the contributions arising from both the QCD and electroweak penguins and the long range inelastic final state interactions (IFSI). The usually neglected space-like penguins and the annihilation contributions are also taken into account in our analysis. The next-to-leading order low energy effective Hamiltonian and BSW model are used to evaluate the weak transition matrix elements. The effect of space-like and annihilation diagrams are studied using the Lepage and Brodsky model. We found that as a result of FSI, the CP a

Fermilab experiment E871, HyperCP, is designed to search for evidence of direct CP violation in Cascade and Lambda hyperon decays. The asymmetry of the angular distribution of the proton in the Lambda helicity frame between Ξ-→Λ+π-, Λ→p+π- and the charge-conjugate decays, will be measured. During the 1997 and 1999 fixed target runs at Fermilab HyperCP collaboration collected billions of Cascade and anti-Cascade decays that would make it possible to probe this asymmetry at the 10-4 statistical level. The status of the data analysis is described.

The direct CP asymmetry in the inclusive B → Xdγ and B → Xde+e-decays is investigated in the two-Higgs doublet extension of the Standard Model (2HDM). The investigation is performed in the lowest nonvanishing order of the perturbation theory using the existing restrictions on the 2HDM parameters space. It is shown that the direct CP asymmetry in the B → Xdγ decay can deviate significantly from the Standard Model predictions. In the presence of only one source of CP violation (the CKM matrix weak phase) aCP(B → Xdγ) can have the sign opposite to that in the SM. The new source of CP violation ca

Abstract We study Higgs boson production associated with single top or anti-top via t-channel weak boson exchange at the LHC. The process is an ideal probe of the top quark Yukawa coupling, because we can measure the relative phase of htt and hWW couplings, thanks to the significant interference between the two amplitudes. By choosing the emitted W momentum along the polar axis in the th ($$ \overline{t}h $$ t ¯ h ) rest frame, we obtain the helicity amplitudes for all the contributing subprocesses analytically, with possible CP phase of the Yukawa coupling. We study the azimuthal asymmetry be

Abstract We propose an appealing alternative scenario of leptogenesis assisted by dark sector which leads to the baryon asymmetry of the Universe satisfying all theoretical and experimental constraints. The dark sector carries a non minimal set up of singlet doublet fermionic dark matter extended with copies of a real singlet scalar field. A small Majorana mass term for the singlet dark fermion, in addition to the typical Dirac term, provides the more favourable dark matter of pseudo-Dirac type, capable of escaping the direct search. Such a construction also offers a formidable scope to radiat

Abstract We calculate the differential branching fraction, lepton forward-backward asymmetry and direct CP asymmetry for Bd,s → $$ \gamma \mathrm{\ell}\overline{\mathrm{\ell}} $$ γ ℓ ℓ ¯ decays with an energetic photon. We employ factorization methods, which result in rigorous next-to-leading order predic- tions in the strong coupling at leading power in the large-energy/heavy-quark expansion, together with estimates of power corrections and a resonance parameterization of sub- leading power form factors in the region of small lepton invariant mass q2. Defining mechanisms of direct-acting antivirals facilitates drug development and our understanding of virus function. Heteroaryldihydropyrimidines (HAPs) inappropriately activate assembly of hepatitis B virus (HBV) core protein (Cp), suppressing formation of virions. We examined a fluorophore-labeled HAP, HAP-TAMRA. HAP-TAMRA induced Cp assembly and also bound pre-assembled capsids. Kinetic and spectroscopic studies imply that HAP-binding sites are usually not available but are bound cooperatively. Using cryo-EM, we observed that HAP-TAMRA asymmetrically deformed capsids, creating a heterogene
