Por lo tanto, no pueden ser manifestaciones directas de nuestros estados mentales, ni pueden ser representaciones directas, sino que deben ser entendidas como representaciones de segundo orden. En efecto, las actitudes proposicionales no sirven para explicar nuestra actividad mental básica.
