Abstract:
Understanding the intricate relationships between diseases is critical for both prevention and recovery. However, there is a lack of suitable methodologies for exploring the precedence relationships within multiple censored time-to-event data, resulting in decreased analytical accuracy. This study introduces the Censored Event Precedence Analysis (CEPA), which is a nonparametric Bayesian approach suitable for understanding the precedence relationships in censored multivariate events. CEPA aims to analyze the precedence relationships between events to predict subsequent occurrences effectively.

The assessment of spontaneous variability of blood pressure and heart rate is based on specific physiological hypotheses about dynamic features, for example, the baroreflex modulation of heart rate over time in daily life. Usually, arterial baroreflex control of heart rate is explored without delays between blood pressure and heart rate data points, within a narrow range of values, excluding the analysis of saturation regions or low-threshold changes. Methods: Participants with both HTN and DM in a national health screening program in 2015–2016 were divided into two groups based on the order of HTN and DM occurrence: ‘HTN → DM’ and ‘DM → HTN’. Introduction Acne vulgaris is the most common skin disease that affects the majority of the population. Concepts on the pathogenesis of this disease have been changing over the years, as evidenced by the current indication of the precedence of inflammatory or immunological processes over disorders of keratinization of the outlets of hair and sebaceous units during the formation of acne lesions. Due to the complexity of the etiopathogenesis of acne vulgaris, the selection of appropriate therapeutic management is sometimes complicated. Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a chronic inflammatory arthritis occurring in patients with psoriasis. Some consider it as part of the heterogeneous group of diseases unified in the concept of spondyloarthritis (SpA). At least some subtypes, such as the oligoarticular and axial subtypes, can be classified as SpA. The aetiology and pathogenesis are poorly understood. An enthesitis-based model was proposed to unify skin and joint manifestation and to differentiate PsA from other rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Their studies served as trials from the periphery in a period when the discipline was undergoing processes of consolidation and professionalisation in European metropoles. Tropical medicine practised abroad, however, remained an amalgam combining germ theory with environmental disease theories and laboratory medicine with field surveys. AbstractUntil the early 1990s, those who were critical of the South African gold mines found little support. By 1920, the Chamber had fashioned a medical orthodoxy which held that tuberculosis was brought to the mines by recruits, a position from which the industry never wavered. The election of the ANC government in 1994 saw a dramatic shift in the legal possibilities for the victims of occupational injury. The Leon Commission, the first inquiry into occupational health held under majority rule, rejected the Chamber’s orthodoxy. Its final report found that silica dust levels on the gold mines
