Competitive forces in the market force employers to change the way they operate their businesses. The changes that employers have to make often demand an alteration of the employees’ terms and conditions of employment. By law employers are not permitted to unilaterally effect changes to the employee’s terms and conditions of employment. They have to obtain the consent of the affected employees. This is where collective bargaining fits in. The employer has to negotiate with the employees. Abstract All employees have the right not to be wrongfully or unfairly dismissed. These rights are distinct but overlapping. Wrongful dismissal occurs, in essence, when a person is dismissed in breach of the contract of employment, normally when dismissed without being given notice or paid in lieu of notice. No minimum period of employment is necessary. A claim can be brought in the Employment Tribunal, but the claim is limited to $25,000. If the value of the claim is higher than $25,000, the claim should be brought in the High Court or county court.

Abstract:
Cyberattacks have risen to become one of the most critical global risks. Despite increasing investments to combat cyberattacks, there remains a significant, often unnoticed vulnerability: employees. Previous literature reveals that over two-thirds of cyberattacks within organizations result from employee negligence. While strengthening cybersecurity through employee training is essential, traditional methods often fall short. In this study, we tested different approaches to reduce risk exposure to phishing, one of the most common types of cyberattacks, focusing on a sector and context unaddres

Full text
Abstract:
In local markets in Malawi, there are frequent tensions between market traders and the local councils who are responsible for the markets. This sometimes results in the traders refusing to pay market taxes. That in turn causes councils to refuse to provide services, to the markets themselves or to local populations more broadly. This paper reports on research into the circumstances in which these disputes are successfully resolved. The research covered eight local councils where such disputes have taken place. Some disputes were resolved; others were not. Information was obtained through 123 i

Abstract:
Introducing financial incentives to increase productivity in the public sector tends to be politically and bureaucratically cumbersome, particularly in developing countries. Behavioral interventions could be a low-cost alternative, both politically and financially, although evidence of their effectiveness remains scarce. We evaluate the effect of redesigning the notice requiring civil servants in Buenos Aires to comply with citizens requests under Argentina's freedom of information act. The new notice, sent to the treatment group, attempts to exploit salience, deterrence, clarity, and social n

Abstract:
On the way to a reliable and large-scale application of internal insulation, clear and simple guidelines for building practitioners are needed, across all phases of refurbishment planning. Closing this gap was one objective of the “IN2EuroBuild”-project, completed in 2022. As a support in the planning process and for decision-making within the framework of the project, two comprehensive guides for the planning of internal insulation measures were developed. They guide users from the as-is analysis of the building (part one) to the renovation planning of the façade, the selection of suitable in
