Mobile devices equipped with features (e.g., camera, network connectivity and media player) are increasingly being used for different tasks such as web browsing, document reading and photography. While the portability of mobile devices makes them desirable for pervasive access to information, their small screen real-estate often imposes restrictions on the amount of information that can be displayed and manipulated on them. On the other hand, large displays have become commonplace in many outdoor as well as indoor environments. While they provide an efficient way of presenting and disseminatin

A finger-worn haptic device capable of rendering 2-D graphics through vibrotactile feedback is presented. Testing of the latest prototype design shows that it has a spatial sensitivity (<2mm) comparable to natural touch (~1mm) and can be used to output a variety of vibrotactile textures. The aims of this study are to develop a method to improve the color image quality for displays and to find a way to assess the image quality of the displays with high efficiency. There are three main contributions in this thesis. The first is to optimize display color quality by means of a color conversion method for pref

With the advance in information and communication technology, mobile devices can achieve almost everything with proper apps. However, the durability of the mobile devices is still a problem. The major parts which consume most of the energy are the screen, communication unit and the computation unit arranged in descending order. Base on this fact, we focused on lower the power consumption of the screen by adjusting the backlight level, since the backlight system dominate the screen pow

博士
國立成功大學
電腦與通信工程研究所
103
In this study, an integrative multi-device display system was designed and implemented after concluding the related literatures and practical experience. This system can be deployed on two different using scenarios. In classroom scenario, a multi-display teaching system was developed, based on the design principles proposed by cognitive load theory and the cognitive theory of multimedia learning, to address the need for simultaneous, focused display of multimedia content. This system was deployed on multiple projectors in real educational environments in o
