J. S. Mill's case against censorship rests on a conception of relevant communications as truth apt. If the communication is true, everyone benefits from the opportunity to exchange error for truth. If it is false, we benefit from the livelier impression truth makes when it collides with error. This classical liberal model is not however adequate for today's world. In particular, it is inadequate for dealing with the problem of stereotyping. Much contemporary communication is not truth apt. Symbolic values from both Eastern and Western cultures occurred more frequently in 1995. This change implies that contemporary Chinese advertising is not only a “distorted mirror” but a “melting pot” of cultural values. Results also indicate that the n

This paper presents a Kalman filter-based estimation method of tracking-error of monopulse antenna for satellite communication(SATCOM) on-the-move. Basically, a line-of-sight(LOS) stabilization is important to communication terminals equipped to the moving platforms since those are continuously exposed to unexpected external disturbances. The step-tracking method, which is widely used as LOS stabilization for satellite tracking, has limitations of fast dynamics and precise tracking. The monopulse antenna can overcome the problems by directly computing the tracking-error without any scanning mo

Family therapy for schizophrenia began in the early 1950s, inspired by theories that located the cause of the illness in family dysfunction. The family pathology was seen as stemming from disturbed relationships (Fromm-Reichmann, 1948; Lidz et al, 1956; Laing & Esterson, 1964) and / or distorted communication (Bateson et al, 1956; Wynne & Singer, 1963).

Why were new communication and telecommunications laws enacted in South America in the left-turning governments of Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Argentina in the first two decades of the 21st century? The answer falls within a contextualization of the political, economic, and social moment these countries went through, where the majority of the population simultaneously expressed themselves at the polls in favor of an ideological orientation, turning this circumstance into a new phenomenon in the region. For the purpose at hand, a comparison is drawn between the essential milestones of the
