Abstract:
Phosphorus species are potent modulators of physicochemical and bioactive properties of peptide compounds. O,O-diorganyl dithiophoshoric acids (DTP) form bioactive salts with nitrogen-containing biomolecules; however, their potential as a peptide modifier is poorly known. We synthesized amphiphilic ammonium salts of O,O-dimenthyl DTP with glutathione, a vital tripeptide with antioxidant, protective and regulatory functions. DTP moiety imparted radical scavenging activity to oxidized glutathione (GSSG), modulated the activity of reduced glutathione (GSH) and profoundly improved adsorption and e

Abstract:
The gold contained in copper ores is an important resource for the gold industry. In some cases, elemental gold is present and can be recovered by selective flotation. It has been reported that the gold grade and recovery can be increased, without sacrificing the copper recovery, by replacing AERO 3477 (diisobutyl dithiophosphate (DTP)) with AERO 7249 (mixture of diisobutyl monothiophosphate (MTP) and diisobutyl dithiophosphate (DTP)) as the main collector. The fundamental understanding of the improvement in selectivity with the addition of MTP in the flotation of elemental gold from pyrite is

Abstract:
Atomic force microscopy (AFM) has been applied to study the adsorption morphology of various collectors, i.e., potassium ethyl xanthate (KEX) and potassium amyl xanthate (PAX) and Cytec Aerofloat 238 (sodium dibutyl dithiophosphate), on chalcocite in situ in aqueous solutions. The AFM images show that all these collectors adsorb strongly on chalcocite. Xanthate adsorbs mainly in the form of insoluble cuprous xanthate (CuX), which binds strongly with the mineral surface without being removed by flushing with ethanol alcohol. This xanthate/chalcocite adsorption mechanism is very similar to the o

Organophosphates (OPs) are widely used as pesticides, and its urinary metabolites as well as the blood cholinesterases (ChEs) activity have been reported as possible biomarkers for the assessment of this pesticide exposure. Moreover, the OPs can induce mutagenesis, and the bone marrow micronucleus test is an efficient way to assess this chromosomal damage. This paper reports a study carried out to verify the correlation among the disulfoton exposure, blood ChEs activity, urinary diethyl thiophosphate (DETP), and diethyl dithiophosphate (DEDTP), as well as micronucleated polychromatic erythrocy

AbstractTo understand antiwear phenomena in motor engines at the atomic level and provide evidence inselecting future ashless wear inhibitors, we studied the thermal stability of the self-assembled monolayer(SAM) model for dithiophosphate (DTP) and dithiocarbamate (DTC) molecules on the iron oxidesurface using molecular dynamics. The interactions for DTP, DTC and Fe2O3 are evaluated based on aforce field derived from fitting to ab initio quantum chemical calculations of dimethyl DTP (and DTC)and Fe(OH)2(H2O)2-DTP (DTC) clusters. Purpose This paper aims to propose a new strategy to functionalize zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIF-8) to improve its dispersion stability and tribological properties in lubricating oil. Design/methodology/approach Dialkyl dithiophosphate polydopamine ZIF-8 (DDP@PDA@ZIF-8) was prepared via mussel-inspired chemistry and the Michael addition reaction. The tribological properties of DDP@PDA@ZIF-8 as an additive in the white oil were evaluated with four-ball friction and wear tester at different temperatures. The worn surface was analyzed using X-ray photoelectron spectrum (XPS). Findings The
