In my diploma thesis I inquire into mutual comparison of the two of the main communication industries in a marketing mix -- advertising and public relations. I also look deeper into how much the recent global economic crisis of 2009 -- 2010 has an impact on a development of those two industries in the Czech Republic. I am try to describe their common and different attributes, their possibilities in the communication mix, as well as I try to estimate a future development of both of the industries, based on a theoretical background and questionnaire research amongst advertising, PR and marketing professionals.

Abstract:
Ostracod assemblages from samples collected through the Turonian Stage of the Late Cretaceous from Dover, Kent, south-east England, consist of one hundred and three species group taxa. These are described and illustrated. This represents a significant increase in the knowledge of the Turonian fauna, since previous estimates of the number of species present during the Turonian are less than thirty. This improvement has been brought about by the selection of an appropriate processing method. Freeze-thaw processing is recommended for chalks and hardgrounds which comprise much of the Turonian Stage. The white spirit, solvent method is shown to be preferable for marls. Nineteen species and six subspecies are here described as new: Polycope lunaplena sp. nov, Cytherella truncatoides sp. nov., Cytherella vulna sp. nov., Cytherella weaveri sp. nov., Cytherelloidea granulosa parca ssp. nov., Cardobairdia longitecta sp. nov., Bairdoppilata turonica sp. nov., Pontocyprella robusta cometa ssp. nov., Pterygocythereis (Diogmopteron) carolinae sp. nov., Bythoceratina (Bythoceratina) saxa sp. nov., Bythoceratina (Bythoceratina) staringi conmacula ssp. nov., Monoceratina minangulata sp. nov., Patellacythere weaveris sp. nov., Schulerides langdonensis sp. nov., Karsteneis nodifera tabasca ssp. nov., Karsteneis oculocosta sp. nov., Karsteneis petasus petasus sp. et ssp. nov., Karsteneis petasus antecursor sp. et ssp. nov., Karsteneis praekarsteni sp. nov., Idiocythere carburnensis sp. nov., Isocythereis postelongata sp. nov., Mauritsina? paradordoniensis sp. nov., Rehacythereis stellatus sp. nov., Rehacythereis venticursus venticursus sp. et ssp. nov., Rehacythereis venticursus patbrowni sp. et ssp. nov., and one new name, Bythoceratina (Bythocertatina) antetumida nom. nov. is introduced for a secondary junior homonym. By comparison with faunas from Devon and the Czech Republic, the biostratigraphical analysis is shown to only have only local significance due to diachronism of Ostracoda. This diachronism is used to explore migration pathways which suggest that the origin of the Turonian ostracod fauna may have had more than one source. A model relating ostracod diversity inversely to sea-level is given for the Cenomanian to Santonian stages of the Late Cretaceous which suggests that the sea-level at Dover during the Turonian was greater than previously thought, given its marginal setting.

In this thesis, we examined the relationship between the doer effect and learning computational subjects. Computational thinking is becoming increasingly important for students and professionals, and teaching this thought process is a relatively new practice. The doer effect is a well-studied learning phenomenon, yet its impact in computational subjects is not well-understood. Also, given that MOOCs cater to a variety of students, predicting student experience levels can benefit instructors. To address these problems, we used data from massive open online courses (MOOCs) to understand how different student activities are correlated with positive learning outcomes. We also considered the doer effect in a variety of scenarios such as prior experience, duration, and course content. Using a variety of linear models and feature engineering methods in the MOOC setting, we were able to replicate the results seen in literature and draw conclusions about the doer effect in new contexts. Because we found prior experience to correlate with student behavior, we also developed a classifier to predict student experience levels given demographic and behavioral data; our model gives strong accuracy and is robust for use in small data sets.

Resumo: No capítulo 1 faremos uma breve revisão dos testes experimentais de certas propostas de extensão não-linear da equação de Schrödinger. Serão discutidos os atuais limites superiores para eventuais desvios de linearidade em mecânica quântica. No capítulo dois tratamos da formulação de equivalentes hidrodinâmicos da equação de Schrodinger e, introduzindo a possibilidade de difusão da densidade de probabilidades, derivamos a equação de Doebner-Goldin a partir da equação de Fokker-Planck. São discutidos os tipos de não-linearidades envolvidas, exemplos de solução via transformações não-lineares e intersecções entre a equação de Doebner-Goldin e outras tentativas de extensão não-linear da equação de Schrödinger. No capítulo três reobtivemos as chamadas transformações de gauge não-lineares, partindo das transformações introduzidas anteriormente. Rescrevemos a equação de Doebner-Goldin em termos dessas transformações de gauge e interpretamos seu significado. No capítulo quatro formulamos a versão gauge-invariante de uma certa subfamília dissipativa da equação de Doebner-Goldin. São enfatizados os problemas de interpretação da natureza dissipativa dessa subfamília. No capítulo cinco discutiremos a possibilidade de construir restrições físicas ao conjunto de parâmetros envolvidos na equação de Doebner-Goldin. Essas tentativas de restrições foram obtidas a partir da utilização de variáveis hidrodinâmicas
Abstract: In the chapter one we outline the experimental tests of certain former nonlinear extension of the Schrödinger equation. We discuss the present accepted upper limits of linearity deviation in quantum mechanics. The chapter two starts with the hydrodynamics equivalent for the usual Schrödinger equation. Starting from this equivalence plus the introduction of the difusion of probabilities we derive de so-called Doebner-Goldin equation from the Fokker-Planck equation. We also discuss some examples of solution via nonlinear transformations as well as theintersections with other nonlinear extensions of the Schrödinger equation. In the chapter three there is a detailed investigation of the so-called non-linear gauge transformations, starting from the nonlinear transformations from the chapter two. We rewrite the Doebner-Goldin equation considering the nonlinear gauge transformations and outline its meaning. The chapter four we develop the gauge-invariant version of a certain dissipative subfamily of the Doebner-Goldin equation, with emphasis on the difficulties concerning the interpretation of this dissipation of energy. In the chapter five we discuss the possibility of find some more strict physical restriction on the set of parameters of the Doebner-Goldin equation. These restriction temptatives are obtained by the application of hydrodynamics variables

Abstract:
Parmi les nombreux radioimmunoessais utilisés pour mesurer des IgE spécifiques, le RAST demeure le plus fréquemment employé en clinique. Sa disponibilité commerciale permet la reproductibilité des valeurs à mesurer. Cette technique est simple et elle est l'outil clinique pour diagnostiquer un sujet allergique. Le RAST révèle, au moyen d'un antisérum anti-IgE marqué radioactivement, les IgE spécifiques qui ont, au préalable, réagi avec les antigènes fixés à une matrice solide. Dans ce système, la présence d'IgG spécifiques peut fausser la mesure des IgE spécifiques parce qu'ils peuvent aussi réagir avec les antigènes fixés. Cette interférence IgG est problématique puisqu'elle nuit à l'étude de la régulation de la synthèse des IgE et l'effet de 1 'immunothérapie sur celle-ci. Le présent travail fait état d'une étude comparative des résultats obtenus avec le REAST et le RAST , un immunoessai commercialement disponible, chez des sujets allergiques et des volontaires normaux. Le REAST et le RAST détectent de façon significative plus d ' IgE spécifiques au phléole chez les sujets allergiques (3,04 + 3,94; 21,65 + 14,50) que chez ceux non-allergiques (0,20 + 0,17; 1,48 + 1,68). Une corrélation significative est calculée entre le REAST et le RAST standard ( r = 0,61 ; p<0,001 ). La spécificité de la mesure des IgE est démontrée en chauffant les sérums avant de procéder au dosage. Ceci a pour effet de diminuer de 85% la valeur de la densité optique. La spécificité antigénique de la mesure des IgE spécifiques est démontrée par compétition entre l'antigène marqué et un antigène libre (non-marqué ) spécifique ou non-spécifique. Seul l'antigène libre spécifique inhibe la fixation du complexe antigène-peroxidase où l'on observe une diminution de la densité optique de plus de 97%. En remplaçant l'anti-IgE polyclonal par un anti-IgE monoclonal, la sensibilité du REAST est accrue.

Tesis para optar al grado de Doctor en Ciencias de la Ingeniería, Mención Ingeniería Química y Biotecnología
Molybdenum(Mo)-doped ceria (CMO) nanoparticles were synthesized by the combustion method with three different Mo concentrations: 5 wt.%, 7 wt.% and 10 wt.%. The catalytic activity of CMO for wet gasification of carbon was studied in a fluidized bed reactor, while the mechanical and electrical properties of this material were characterized using dense sintered CMO pellets. The Young s modulus increases with the Mo content; the highest measured value is 340.3 GPa for CMO with 10 wt.% Mo. Measurements of Vickers microhardness demonstrate that an increase in the Mo content produces a decrease in the microhardness of the material, suggesting that Mo confers semimetallic characteristics to CMO. The highest fracture toughness value, determined by the Niihara equation, is 4.65 MPa m^0.5 for CMO with 10 wt.% Mo. In addition, an increase in the molybdenum content produces an increase in the electrical conductivity under air and H2 atmospheres. The maximum electrical conductivities under air and H2 are found for CMO with 10 wt.% Mo at 800 °C: 1.87x10^-3 S cm^-1 and 9.37x10^-1 S cm^-1, correspondingly. Therefore, CMO with 10 wt.% Mo shows good catalytic activity during carbon gasification. Based on its mechanical, electrical and catalytic properties, CMO 10 wt.% Mo was selected to perform electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements in symmetric-cells with CMO-based electrodes, and polarization curve measurements in SOFCs with CMO anode, YSZ electrolyte and LSM cathode. The area specific polarization resistance (ASPR) values measured in air and hydrogen-water atmospheres are 6.76 Ohm cm^2 and 5.68 Ohm cm^2 at 800 °C, respectively. These ASPR values are lower than those reported in the literature for the same system under study, which was related to the improve synthesis method proposed in this work (combustion method). The diffusion of gaseous oxygen was related to a Knudsen-type mechanism, while the diffusion of hydrogen-water was related to a mixed mechanism between molecular and Knudsen-type diffusion. The maximum electrical power density obtained in the SOFC (using CMO-YSZ as cell anode) was 48.9 mW cm^-2. This low value was related to cathode problems and inadequate SOFC fabrication procedures. The addition of molybdenum to cerium oxide improves its mechanical, electrical and catalytic properties, while the CMO anode in this work shows a lower polarization resistance compared to the results reported in the literature. These results show that the CMO is a good candidate for use as a carbon-air solid oxide fuel cell (CA-SOFC) anode. However, it is necessary to improve the SOFC fabrication method to determine if it is the reason for the low electrical power density obtained.

Abstract:

This thesis for the Master of Science degree was performed at Oppunda Electronics AB. The assignment was to further develop an existing prototype of a dispensing equipment. The dispensing equipment doses a kind of glue, bonding which dentist use to mend teeth. The dispensing equipment is adjusted to dose 12 micro litres of bonding. With the dispensing equipment SafeBond Electronic the user can reduce the bonding consumption with approximately 50 percent. Furthermore will the handling of the bonding be more hygienic, because the photoelectric sensor allows the user to start a dosage without touching any part of the dispensing equipment.

The main requirements for the development was to reduce the size of the existing prototype and implement functions to makeit possible to change the dose time and display the current dose time. Some parts and components have been replaced and reorganized to reduce the size of the dispenser. The choice of a steep motor, which makes the rotation when a dosage is performed, is the largest contribution to shrink the size of the equipment. Also the new designed circuit board makes it possible to reduce the size of the dispensing equipment.

A LCD is used to show the current dose time. The LCD is a part of a LCD module. To change the dosing time two push buttons are being used. A microcontroller is controlling the steep motor. The microcontroller is a PIC16F877A from Microchip. The microcontroller in the dispensing equipment is controlling all the functions. The program code is designed to function in an interrupt routine. This makes it possible to set the processor in a sleep mode when the dispenser is not in use and decrease the power consumption.

More functions have been implemented in the dispenser and it is now more suitable for itsassignment. In the mean time it has been possible to reduce the size of the equipment. The chosen parts andcomponents make a good price function ratio. During the product development a lot of documentations have been done. Which make the dispensing equipment ready to be implemented in production.

This essay revisits Ian McEwan’s extremely successful novel Saturday, and interrogates its exemplary assessment of the British cultural climate after 9/11. The particular focus is on McEwan’s extensive recourse to the writings of Matthew Arnold, whose melancholy outlook on culture and anarchy McEwan basically translates into the 21st century without much ideological fraction. This relapse into Victorian liberal humanism as consolation for a Western world besieged by the contingencies of terrorism is extremely problematic. Not only does it wilfully ignore the transcultural realities of modern Britain, it also promotes an ahistorical and apolitical mode of critical inquiry which may be called reductive at best in view of the global challenges that the novel addresses.

Esta dissertação desenvolve uma análise crítica sobre as condições de trabalho na educação infantil a fim de estabelecer possíveis relações com o processo de adoecimento que vem atingindo os docentes nas últimas décadas. A análise das condições de trabalho dos docentes que atuam nessa etapa da educação básica, tomando como referência a rede municipal de ensino de Belém, capital paraense, exigiu um aprofundamento teórico sobre o tema e sua relação com as transformações no mundo do trabalho, diante da qual a escolha do método de pesquisa baseou-se no materialismo histórico e dialético, entendendo-o tanto como método, como uma concepção de mundo. A partir do estudo exploratório algumas categorias orientaram as análises, tais como: condições de trabalho, com base em Oliveira e Assunção (2010) e Hypolito (2010); precarização, a partir da compreensão de Marin (2010); intensificação, com base nas análises de Dal Rosso (2008); mal-estar, segundo Martinez (2010) e Codo (2010); adoecimento, conforme a abordagem de Assunção (2010); e subjetividade, com base nos estudos de Alves (2008, 2010, 2011) e Mancebo (2010). Gama (2014), Hey e Catani (2010), Carrasco e Petit (2012) e Yanoullas (2013), ao estabelecerem a relação entre produção/reprodução do capital e o papel da mulher neste contexto, ajudam a localizar as atividades de educação e cuidado no contexto da sociedade capitalista. Marx (1978, 1988, 2008), Engels (2012), Antunes (2000, 2001, 2005, 2009, 2011, 2013) e Harvey (2011, 2012) auxiliaram na compreensão quanto aos impactos do processo de precarização do trabalho, especialmente sobre as trabalhadoras. Enquanto espaço de reprodução do sistema capitalista, as bases em que se sustentam as políticas voltadas à criança em idade pré-escolar respondem a uma demanda que busca na educação as condições necessárias à manutenção do sistema e possuem desdobramentos nas condições objetivas e a subjetividade docente, conforme apontam Shiroma (2011), Shiroma e Schneider (2011), Shiroma e Santos (2014) e Mancebo (2010), entre outros. Revisitando de forma analítico-crítica os dados da pesquisa Trabalho Docente na Educação Básica no Pará (2010), constata-se que os docentes da educação infantil vêm vivenciando um forte processo de precarização e intensificação do trabalho, comprometendo o tempo livre dessas docentes, pois são em sua maioria mulheres, que historicamente tem respondido pelas atividades de cuidado e manutenção do lar. As análises realizadas corroboram com Esteve (1999) indicando que, somadas às condições objetivas como fatores relativos à própria ação do professor, há fatores contextuais que agem indiretamente sobre o trabalho e afetam sua saúde. Os dados permitem que se infira que, diante do acúmulo de exigências que pesa sobre o docente, o absenteísmo surge como uma forma de resistência à tensão gerada no ambiente de trabalho, gerando um mal-estar que pode resultar em um quadro de adoecimento tanto físico quanto psíquico. O trabalho finaliza apontando como saída para a problemática o rompimento com o silêncio, e o empenhar-se em descortinar o conteúdo ideológico que há por trás da retórica do Estado, com vistas à construção de outra sociedade, pois não há saída por dentro do capitalismo. Este é impossível de humanizar-se.
This paper develops a critical analysis of working conditions in early childhood education in order to establish possible relationships with illness process that has been reaching teachers in recent decades. The analysis of the working conditions of teachers working in this stage of basic education, with reference to the municipal schools of Belém, the state capital, demanded a theoretical study on the subject and its relation to the changes in the labor world. The option on the research method is based on historical and dialectical materialism, understood as much as a method, as a world vision. From the exploratory study some categories guided the analysis, such as working conditions, based on Oliveira and Assunção (2010) and Hypolito (2010); precariousness, from the understanding of Marin (2010); intensification, based on the analysis Dal Rosso (2008); malaise, according to Martinez (2010) and Codo (2010); sicken according to Assunção (2010); and subjectivity, on the basis of Alves of studies (2008, 2010, 2011) and Mancebo (2010). Gama (2014), Hey and Catani (2010), Carrasco and Petit (2012) and Yanoullas (2013), doing the connection between production/reproduction of capital and the role of women in this context, they collaborate to locate the educational activities and of care in the context of capitalist society. Marx (1978, 1988, 2008), Engels (2012), Antunes (2000, 2001, 2005, 2009, 2011, 2013) and Harvey (2011, 2012) they helped in understanding about the impacts of work precariousness process, especially on the woman working. While of capitalist reproduction space, policies aimed at age children preschool seek to meet a standards they see the in education right conditions for maintaining the system resulting in repercussions on the objective conditions and subjectivity of teachers, as Shiroma indicates (2011), Shiroma and Schneider (2011), Shiroma and Santos (2014) and Mancebo (2010), among others. Revisiting of form analytical-critical data collected by the survey "Work Teaching in Basic Education in Pará" (2010) we found the result that teachers of early childhood education have been experiencing a strong process of casualization and intensification of work, compromising the free time of workers, which are mostly women, who historically has responded by care and home maintenance activities. The analyzes corroborate with analysis of Esteve (1999) indicating that, together with the objective conditions as factors related to the teacher's own action, there contextual factors that act indirectly on labor and lead to impacts negative health of teachers. The data allow us to infer that, against accumulation of tasks that weighs on teachers, the absence from work emerges as a form of resistance to tension generated in own the workplace, generating a malaise that can result in both illness both physical as psychic. The work ends pointing as solution to the problem break with silence, revealing the ideological content that is behind the State's rhetoric seeking, towards the construction of another society because there is no way humanization within capitalism. Capitalism is impossible to humanize themselves.

Resumo: O potencial produtivo das lavouras de alta performance se define no momento da semeadura e para assegurar altos rendimentos nas culturas agrícolas é importante semear com qualidade. O objetivo geral do experimento foi de estudar parâmetros de qualidade operacional, qualidade de plantio e parâmetros de desempenho agronômico ¬¬na implantação da cultura do milho (Zea mays L.), por meio de uma semeadora-adubadora equipada com dosador pneumático em sistema de plantio direto na segunda safra. O trabalho foi conduzido em lavoura comercial, em esquema fatorial duplo (3x3), combinando-se, três velocidades de deslocamento (4,2; 7,3 e 10,1 km h-1) e três pressões de vácuo do sistema pneumático de dosagem de sementes (8,0; 10,0 e 12,0 MPa). Foram realizados dois experimentos, sendo o primeiro com disco dosador de semente de 40 perfurações e o segundo com disco dosador de 36 perfurações. Os experimentos foram desenvolvidos na fazenda Rio Verdinho localizada no Município de Itararé/SP, no ano agrícola de 2018 (milho da segunda safra). O delineamento experimental utilizado foi em blocos casualizados com 4 repetições. Foram avaliados os seguintes parâmetros: uniformidade na distribuição das sementes e plântulas na linha e em profundidade, distribuição do fertilizante, mobilização e cobertura do solo, demanda energética, dados agronômicos e produtividade da cultura do milho. Abstract: The production potential of high-performance crops is determined in the moment of sowing. To ensure high yields of agricultural crops, it is important to have a high-quality sow. Therefore, the general objective of the experiment was to study the parameters for implementation of operational quality in the cultivation of second harvest corn (Zea mays L.), by means of vacuum seeder in the no-tillage system of soy straw, and understand to what degree these factors influence the agronomic characteristics and crop productivity. The study was conducted on commercial tillage, in a double factorial scheme (3x3), matching three travel speeds (4,2; 7,3 e 10,1 km h-1), and three vacuum pressures of the pneumatic seed dosing system (8,0; 10,0 e 12,0 MPa). Two experiments were conducted, one with a 36-hole seed disc and the other with a 40-hole disc. The experiments were carried out in the commercial area Farm, Rio Verdinho, located in the county of Itareré/SP, in the agricultural year of 2018 (second harvest corn). The experimental design was conducted in random blocks with four replications. The following parameters were assessed: uniformity of seed and plant distribution in line and in depth, fertilizer distribution, mobilization and ground cover, energy demand, seed quality after passing through the machine dosing mechanism, agronomic data and corn crop yield. Abstract:
Glycine betaine, a biologically relevant feeding stimulant was investigated in the Dover sole, Solea solea, a chemosensory feeder. Spike activity in response to glycine betaine concentrations from 10-7 to 1M were investigated using a whole animal preparation and an anterior end preparation. Typically the response curve showed an exponential increase from around 10-4 to 10-3 M up to a peak activity at 10-2 to 10-1 M. Concentrations above peak activity gave rise to a rapid inhibition of the spike activity. Spike frequency calculated over the entire stimulus presentation period and the peak spikes activity recorded during stimulus presentation showed similar response curves. Binding of 14C-glycine betaine to the receptor site showed a response curve similar to those found from electrophysiological recordings but the peak activity occurred at 3.55 x 10-5 M glycine betaine. Binding activity satisfied receptor binding criteria indicating true specific binding activity to a physiologically relevant receptor site. Feeding behaviour and growth rates were used as indicators of the importance of glycine betaine. Feeding behaviour was quantified as the g diet eaten/100g fish wet weight/day. Diets containing no glycine betaine were unacceptable to the fish, but an increase in the concentration of 10-9 to 10-5 moles glycine betaine/g moist diet showed an increase in consumption. Peak feeding activity occurred at 10-5 moles/g moist diet, and higher concentrations indicated a slight decrease in the feeding response. Growth curves to diets containing different concentrations of glycine betaine mirrored these tendencies. Response concentration data were analysed using Scatchard and Beidler analyses. Two components were revealed of differing Km and Qmax values suggesting two affinity receptor components. Analogues of glycine betaine were used to determine the structural specificity of the receptor site. Electrophysiological and binding data showed good correlation and the structural requirements of the receptor site were found to be : short, straight chain molecules; one or two -CH2- groups between terminal groups; high polarity of the molecule; the presence of methyl groups on the quaternary nitrogen terminal, suggesting a high receptor specificity. Behavioural responses paralled the binding and afferent spike activity, although analogues eliciting low level responses below 4.5 spikes sec-1 and 155 pmol 14C glycine betaine bound/mg protein failed to elicit a feeding response. Suppression of the response to glycine betaine appeared to occur with chemical mixture. Individual components of a synthetic squid mixture accounted for five times the stimulatory capacity of the complete synthetic mixture at the binding site, and ten times at the sensory afferent level. Glycine betaine plus glycine was the most stimulatory mixture, the activity elicited in response to the mixture being equal to the summed responses of the individual components. Enhancement or synergism were not found. Mixture interaction was observed at the receptor site, the sensory afferents and in the behavioural response. Taste buds were found on internal surfaces only, showing a maximum density of 155.1/mm2 at the pharyngeal pads. taste buds were also present on the gill arches. Large bud structure on the abocular surface resembled taste buds in structure but did not show binding activity. High receptor specificity allowed a hypothetical receptor site and possible method of binding interaction to be proposed, and the importance of mixture interaction was discussed.

Abstract:
This thesis is a study of one hasidic leader's response to change at the turn of the nineteenth century. Rabbi Shalom DovBer Schneersohn (RaShaB) (1860-1920) served as the fifth HaBaD-Lubavich Rebbe, and during his tenure sought to protect Orthodox Judaism from what he perceived to be threatening new movements and ideas. At the same time, he sought to revitalise and expand HaBaD hasidism. This study examines RaShaB's response to change by focusing on three areas in which he invested considerable energy: his battle with the Russian Haskalah movement, his response to Zionism, and the establishment of his yeshivah system, Tomkhei Tmimim. While at first glance RaShaB appears to be radically anti-modem, resisting the new in the hope of conserving the old, closer examination reveals a more complex picture. This thesis demonstrates how, while resisting change, RaShaB also appreciated its value, and in certain contexts, embraced it flly. His ability to understand the causes as well as the implications of change enabled him to exploit it selectively to best serve his goals. This skill, together with his ability to articulate his vision clearly and to organise and motivate people, enabled him to lay the groundwork for turning a parochial hasidic court into the international HaBaD-Lubavich movement of today.
