Abstract:
Modern digital archives are modern archives which in big computer devices (servers), preserve archived original document overlooking the moment is produced. Archives in Kosovo assessment of archival documents make in two directions. First; selection of classical documents (on paper) with the value to be transformed into digital documents, and second; selection of contemporary documents produced by institutions of computer and internet era. Management of these digital documents requires procedures and professional standards for its storage and processing by the archive, in order to be ready to serve researchers and interested parties. Access to digital documents should be fast, simple procedures, providing documentation from the penetration of ‘hackers’ and people badly intention. To fulfil its mission digital document should ensure and complement the appearance of the original document. Since the user does not have the option of intervention and change in the document. Should work in protect emblem, which protects the entire area of the document in the form of molten seal, which also shows the ownership of certain archive. Safety documentation and document base by external users will be able to organize, deposit and stored at three levels: Server (1) be stored (saved) archival documents for use by the applicant; Server (2) stored data of the first and simultaneously updates added by continuous processing of new documents; and Server (3) is not accessible from outside through digital network, but stored all digital archive documentation and from here there should be no often exit. In Server 3 only entered document and stored as recent bank. From there, the document will be drawn only if it is missing or damaged document on server 1 and 2.Thus, through this categorization could be provided for long time electronic documents (digital), until to new modern inventions of modern digitalization technology that would ensure the preservation of documents for the ‘real’ long-term or permanent time.

In this paper, we put forward a technique for keeping web pages up-to-date, later used by search engine to serve the end user queries. A major part of the Web is dynamic and hence, a need arises to constantly update the changed web documents in search engine’s repository. In this paper we used the client-server architecture for crawling the web and propose a technique for detecting changes in web page based on the content of the images present if any in web documents. Once it is being identified that the image embedded in the web document is changed then the previous copy of the web document present in the search engine’s database/repository is replaced with the changed one.

Abstract:
The cloud-assisted Internet of Things (CIoT) is booming, which utilizes powerful data processing capabilities of the cloud platform to solve massive Internet of Things (IoT) data. However, the CIoT faces new security challenges, such as the confidentiality of the outsourced data. Data encryption is a fundamental technique that can guarantee the confidentiality of outsourced data, but it limits target encrypted data retrieval from cloud platform. Public key encryption with keyword search (PEKS) provides a promising solution to address this problem. In PEKS, a cloud server can be authorized to search the keyword in encrypted documents and retrieve associated encrypted documents for the receiver. However, most existing PEKS schemes merely focus on keyword search function while ignoring the associated documents encryption/decryption function. Thus, in practice, a PEKS scheme must cooperate with another separated public key encryption (PKE) scheme to fulfill a completely secure data sharing scheme. To address this problem, in this paper, we propose a secure data sharing scheme with designated server that combines PKE scheme with PEKS scheme, which provides both keyword search and documents encryption/decryption functions. Furthermore, only the designated server can search the keyword via encrypted documents for enhanced security in our work. Moreover, our scheme also satisfies the public verifiability of search results, which includes both keywords and documents ciphertexts’ correctness and integrity. As to the security, our scheme provides stronger indistinguishability security of document and keyword in the proposed security model.

Abstract:
Given the continued growth of the World-Wide Web, performance of Web sewers is becoming increasingly important. File caching can be used to reduce the time that it takes a Web server to respond to client requests, by storing the most popular files in the main memory of the Web sewer, and by reducing the volume of data that must be transferred between secondary storage and the Web server. In this paper, we use trace-driven simulation to evaluate the effects of various replacement, threshold, and partitioning policies on the performance of a Web sewer. The workload traces for the simulations come from Web server access logs, from six different Internet Web sewers. The traces represent three different orders of magnitude in sewer activity and two different orders of magnitude in time duration. The results from our simulation study show that frequency-based caching strategies, using a variation of the Least Frequently Used (LFU) replacement policy, perform the best for the Web sewer workload traces considered. Thresholding policies and cache partitioning policies for Internet Web servers do not appear to be effective.

Data storage on server laboratory at the computer science when needed. It was because application that progressively and document required was handled by more than one person.Currently there are 6 class space the laboratory contained 30 units of computer in each room. All the time, Laboran (person who manage and work in a laboratory) have to bring harddrive external if you want to install application needed for each the lab, but during this laboran has only two external hard drive. This condition resulted in the process of installation application in the laboratory require a long time. In addition, every month laboran have to make recapitulation contract for 22 person laboratory’s assistant. Now, to make contract assistant in the lab, laboran have to open one of the workstations that is in the fasilkom’s laboratory. Abstract:
However, their ad hoc configuration poses significant challenges to the performance, availability and economical costs of applications. In this thesis, we examine the impact of server configuration on the central trade-off between service performance and service availability. First, we model the behavior of single servers using fluid approximations. Second, we develop novel ad- mission control laws of central server systems. We provide several control laws for different combinations of quality-of-service and service level objectives. Among them, AM-C , the availability-maximizing admission control law, achieves the highest service availability while meeting given performance objective; PM-C is a performance-maximizing ad- mission control law that meets a desired availability target with the highest performance. We evaluate our fluid model and control techniques on the TPC-C industry-standard benchmark that implements a warehouse running on the PostgreSQL database server. Our experiments show that the proposed techniques successfully improve performance by up to 30 % while guaranteeing availability constraints. Furthermore, we extend this work to distributed server systems, that are widely used by Internet applications in the farm of server clusters and multi-tier systems. We present a distributed server model as a non-linear continuous-time model using analogies with fluid transfer. We then state an optimization problem for the control of distributed server systems. We provide an admission control that allows to get the highest service availability while a target performance level is guaranteed. Numerical evaluations of the proposed distributed model and control are presented, and show that the optimal configuration of such systems is not intuitive

Doswell, Felicia. "Improving Network Performance and Document Dissemination by Enhancing Cache Consistency on the Web Using Proxy and Server Negotiation." Diss., Virginia Tech, 2005. http://hdl.handle.net/10919/28735.

Abstract:
Use of proxy caches in the World Wide Web is beneficial to the end user, network administrator, and server administrator since it reduces the amount of redundant traffic that circulates through the network. In addition, end users get quicker access to documents that are cached. However, the use of proxies introduces additional issues that need to be addressed. In particular, there is growing concern over how to maintain cache consistency and coherency among cached versions of documents. The existing consistency protocols used in the Web are proving to be insufficient to meet the growing needs of the Internet population. For example, too many messages sent over the network are due to caches guessing when their copy is inconsistent. One option is to apply the cache coherence strategies already in use for many other distributed systems, such as parallel computers. However, these methods are not satisfactory for the World Wide Web due to its larger size and more diverse access patterns. Many decisions must be made when exploring World Wide Web coherency, such as whether to provide consistency at the proxy level (client pull) or to allow the server to handle it (server push). What trade offs are inherent for each of these decisions? The relevant usage of any method strongly depends upon the conditions of the network (e.g., document types that are frequently requested or the state of the network load) and the resources available (e.g., disk space and type of cache available). Version 1.1 of HTTP is the first protocol version to give explicit rules for consistency on the Web. Many proposed algorithms require changes to HTTP/1.1. However, this is not necessary to provide a suitable solution. One goal of this dissertation is to study the characteristics of document retrieval and modification to determine their effect on proposed consistency mechanisms. A set of effective consistency policies is identified from the investigation. The main objective of this dissertation is to use these findings to design and implement a consistency algorithm that provides improved performance over the current mechanisms proposed in the literature. Optimistically, we want an algorithm that provides strong consistency. However, we do not want to further degrade the network or cause undue burden on the server to gain this advantage. We propose a system based on the notion of soft-state and based on server push. In this system, the proxy would have some influence on what state information is maintained at the server (spatial consideration) as well as how long to maintain the information (temporal consideration). We perform a benchmark study of the performance of the new algorithm in comparison with existing proposed algorithms. Our results show that the Synchronous Nodes for Consistency (SINC) framework provides an average of 20% control message savings by limiting how much polling occurs with the current Web cache consistency mechanism, Adaptive Client Polling. In addition, the algorithm shows 30% savings on state space overhead at the server by limiting the amount of per-proxy and per-document state information required at the server.<br>Ph. D.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract A programmable authorization mechanism for an engineering document database is described. The database stores documents and their versions in a commercial relational database. Documents and other objects contain user-defined attributes. Release and approval procedures of the documents are described by means of state graphs that specify the possible states of a document and the transitions between them. The system consists of centralized server and client programs, which communicate with the server using a specific protocol. The database administrator must be able to formulate rules that tell who is allowed to do particular database operations; rules that tell which operations are allowed in particular document states; and rules that describe consistency invariants between attributes. These rules are expressed by means of authorization procedures written in a special language. Whenever the server receives an operation request, it executes the corresponding authorization procedure. The system can thus be easily adapted to an organization without actually modifying the client or server programs.

Lavadenz, Magaly, and Gisela O’Brien. District Administrators' Perspectives on the Impact of The Local Control Funding Formula on English Learners. Loyola Marymount University, 2017. http://dx.doi.org/10.15365/ceel.policy.6.

Full text
Abstract:
Two years into implementation, this policy brief examines how California’s Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) and its accompanying Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) meet the needs of English Learners (ELs). Researchers seek to understand district administrator perspectives on the impact of LCFF for ELs through interviews and focus groups with administrators that represent districts from Northern, Central, and Southern California. Findings reveal that although the LCAP serves as a mechanism to increase personnel and PD efforts to address EL needs, it is still largely viewed as a compliance document that requires alignment with other strategic documents and is sensitive to changes in leadership. The following policy recommendations are made as a result of these findings: 1) re-design the LCAP to support districts in specifying EL learning goals, services, assessments and expected outcomes; 2) differentiate support for district administrators; and 3) invest (long-term) in district-level and site-level professional development with a focus on EL success.

Full text
Abstract:
This document is part of a series of technical notes describing the compilation of a new companion database that complements the World Income Inequality Database. It aims at facilitating the analysis of inequality as well as progress in achieving the global goal of reducing inequality within and across countries. This new dataset also includes an annual series reporting the income distribution at the percentile level for all citizens in the world, regardless of where they live, since 1950 to present. A previous note described the selection of income distribution series. Since these series may differ across welfare concepts and other methods used, this technical note describes the second stage, constructing integrated and standardized country series. It discusses all the necessary adjustments conducted to construct the final series for each country, with consistent estimates of the distribution of net income per capita over the entire period for which information is available. This is mainly divided into two stages. First, integrating country series by interlinking series that overlap over time, then using a more general regression-based approach.
