Abstract:

This report describes and evaluates an application development framework called DOI, which is used for building document-oriented applications. A document-oriented application is an application where the user interface promotes a workflow that is tightly coupled to the business objects, instead of for example the functionality (as is the case in function-oriented applications).

The report provides a brief description of the underlying technologies, Java and Enterprise JavaBeans, followed by a description of the DOI framework. This entails technical descriptions as well as a more general overview of the framework and associated tools. There is also a more detailed description of how to create an application provided in an appendix.

In the evaluation phase we consider the following attributes: usability, extensibility, code quality and developing time. After taking into consideration how the different parts of the framework affect these attributes we conclude that DOI is a usable and extensible framework, which should contribute a great deal in the development process for applications belonging to the domain of applications targeted by the framework.

The objective of this thesis is to analyze the memory of six former political prisoners of the Destacamento de Operações de Informações-Centro de Operações de Defesa Interna do Rio de Janeiro, or DOI-CODI/RJ (Detachment of Information Operations Center-Internal Defense Operations Center of Rio de Janeiro), recently interviewed between 2002 and 2004, about their everyday living in that institution, in 1970. At that year, in the Sistema de Segurança Interna, or SISSEGIN (Internal Security System), the DOI-CODI had been created and distributed by all the country’s military regions, becoming the repression leading instituion of political opponents who oppted for armed struggle as a way to defeat Brazil’s military dictatorship. Thus, these six former prisioners narratives are, not only essencial sources, but the main study object of this paper. Through them, it becomes possible to access crucial aspects for the characterization of the daily lived by prisioners in one of these agencies - the DOI-CODI in Rio de Janeiro -, since this past connects to present through their memories. Therefore, in order to understand such memories, the training and the performance of the DOI-CODI are also analyzed here, placing the narratives of the interviewed former political prisioners in dialogue with a specially selected bibliography, and a source about DOI made by one of its agents, when that agency was still active, in 1978. In order to be applied to these memories an effective critique, necessary to all historical work, the study still focuses on the interferences that the present exerts on the construction that make in relation to the past lived in DOI-CODI/RJ, in order to clarify the basis on which are built at about thirty years later.
O objetivo dessa dissertação é analisar a memória de seis ex-prisioneiros políticos do Destacamento de Operações de Informações-Centro de Operações de Defesa Interna do Rio de Janeiro (DOI-CODI/RJ), entrevistados recentemente, entre os anos de 2002 e 2004, sobre o cotidiano vivido nessa instituição em 1970. Naquele ano, dentro do Sistema de Segurança Interna (SISSEGIN), os DOI-CODI haviam sido criados e distribuídos por todas as Regiões Militares do país, tornando-se a principal instituição de repressão aos opositores políticos que optaram pela luta armada como forma de derrotar a ditadura militar brasileira. Assim, as narrativas desses seis ex-prisioneiros são, além de fontes essenciais, o principal objeto de estudo deste trabalho. Através delas, torna-se possível acessar aspectos cruciais para a caracterização do cotidiano vivido pelos presos em um desses órgãos, ― o DOI-CODI do Rio de Janeiro ―, uma vez que esse passado se liga ao presente por meio de suas memórias. Diante disso, a fim de melhor entender tais memórias, a formação e a atuação dos DOI-CODI também são aqui analisadas, colocando as narrativas dos ex-prisioneiros políticos entrevistados em diálogo com uma bibliografia especialmente selecionada, além de uma fonte a respeito do DOI feita por um de seus agentes quando este órgão ainda estava em atividade, em 1978. Para que a essas memórias seja aplicada uma crítica efetiva, necessária a todo trabalho histórico, o estudo se debruça ainda sobre as interferências que o presente exerce na construção que fazem com relação ao passado vivido no DOI-CODI/RJ, com o objetivo de esclarecer as bases sobre as quais são construídas cerca de trinta anos depois.

Abstract:

In questa tesi vengono presentati degli studi su un prototipo di rivelatore per un modulo PET con cristallo segmentato, condivisione della luce e lettura della stessa da una singola faccia. Un apparato sperimentale dedicato è stato inizialmente sviluppato e caratterizzato, per poter soddisfare tutti i requisiti in termini di risoluzione spaziale, temporale ed energetica. Questo setup permette la lettura di molteplici canali con catene parallele per misure di tempo ed energia e numerose possibilità di automazione, date dalle molteplici meccaniche impiegabili. La flessibilità di questo apparato ha permesso di effettuare i successivi studi impiegando gli stessi software di acquisizione e analisi. Inoltre, apre la possibilità di ulteriori test su detector a molti canali e per la ricostruzione di immagini. La prima applicazione di questo setup è stato il miglioramento della risoluzione temporale di coincidenza di un modulo PET usando l'informazione relativa alla profondità di interazione. Il contributo alla risoluzione temporale dovuto alle differenti velocità di propagazione di fotoni gamma e ottici all'interno del detector è stata mitigata con un algoritmo che richiede solamente una misura di calibrazione rispetto al rivelatore impiegato. Per ottenere la migliore risoluzione temporale possibile in questa configurazione, molteplici marche temporali sono state combinate per ottenere una miglior stima del tempo di interazione. Questo lavoro è particolarmente interessante per una possibile applicazione in macchine PET ad alta risoluzione, in quanto impiega una lettura della luce da un singola faccia e richiede costi di produzione solo leggermente superiori in confronto a moduli esistenti simili sprovvisti di informazione DOI. Inoltre, è stato sviluppato un algoritmo per identificare correttamente il cristallo di prima interazione nei casi di scattering Compton tra cristalli. Questi sono eventi in cui il fotone gamma primario interagisce con più di un canale della macchina PET. Diversi approcci al problema sono usati in letteratura; uno di questi è l'uso di un algoritmo per riordinare le deposizioni di energia. Questo è l'approccio usato anche in questo studio: è stato sviluppato un nuovo algoritmo, è stato testato con simulazioni Geant4 ed è stato applicato a un modulo PET precedentemente sviluppato usando il setup sperimentale inizialmente sviluppato. La possibilità di includere eventi ICS con una buona accuratezza potrebbe permettere di aumentare la sensitività o la qualità dell'immagine, a seconda di quale metodo è messo a confronto. La possibilità a lungo termine di questo algoritmo sono discusse in conclusione.
In this thesis we will present different studies carried out on a prototype of PET module detector with pixelated crystals, light sharing and single side readout. A dedicated experimental setup was initially developed and characterised, in order to satisfy all the requirements in terms of spatial, energy and time resolution. This setup allows multiple channels readout with parallel chains for energy and time measurement and various possibilities for automation given by several possible mechanics arrangement. The flexibility of this setup allowed to perform all the successive studies using the same Data Acquisition electronics and software. Moreover, it opens up the possibilities for further tests on multi-channels detectors and on image reconstruction. The first application of this setup was the improvement of the Coincidence Time Resolution of the PET module exploiting Depth Of Interaction information. The contribution to the time resolution due to different speed of gamma and optical photons inside the detector was mitigated with an algorithm that only requires a calibration measurement compared to the DOI capable prototype used. To achieve the best possible time resolution in this configuration, multiple time stamps were combined to obtain a better time of interaction estimator. This work is particularly interesting for possible application in high resolution PET scanners, because it relies on single side readout and requires production costs only slightly higher compared to a similar existing module without DOI capability. Moreover, an algorithm was developed to correctly identify the crystal of first interaction in case of Inter-Crystal Scatter events. These are events in which the primary gamma photon interacts with multiple channels of the PET detector. Different approaches to the subject are found in literature; one of these is to use an algorithm to sort the energy depositions. This is the approach used in this study: a new algorithm was developed, preliminary tested by means of Geant4 simulations and later applied on the PET module previously developed using the experimental setup originally described. The possibility to include ICS event with good accuracy would allow to increase sensitivity or image quality depending on the method to whom this approach is compared to. The long term possibilities of this algorithm will be discussed further at the end of this thesis.

Rares sont les travaux traitant de biodiversité tropicale qui reposent sur l'étude approfondie d'un groupe d'Arthropodes au niveau spécifique. C'est ce type d'approche qui a été adopté pour cette thèe, consacrée à l'analyse biogéographique et écologique des Collemboles, insectes dominants dans les sols. Les sites étudiés sont localisés dans les derniers chaînons himalayens du Nord de la Thaïlande. Le Doi Inthanon, point culminant du pays (2590 m), a été choisi comme site de référence pour une étude complète de la faune d'un sol forestier en montagne tropicale. Un programme d'analyse de la diversité a été développé sous le système de gestion de bases de données Quatrième Dimension afin de gérer les très nombreuses données faunistiques et écologiques réunies et d'en extraire aisément les caractéristiques essentielles grâce à une interface personnalisée. Les espèces de Collemboles du Doi Inthanon sont replacées au sein des lignées de la Région Orentale et leurs affinités sont discutées. L'étude biogéographique fait ressortir que dans cette montagne tropicale les éléments tempérés sont fortement représentés à haute altitude tandis que les éléments holotropicaux sont dominants à basse altitude Deux genres riches en endémiques font l'objet d'une analyse phylogénétique détaillée qui traduit la complexité de l'histrire paléogéographique de la région. L'étude de la diversité et de l'écologie du peuplement édaphique du Doi Inthanon combine l'analyse des grands groupes taxonomiques et celle des espèces de Collemboles. Les fluctuations saisonnières et altitudinales se sont montrées paradoxalement aussi marquées qu'en régions tempérées. La microrépartition spatiale du peuplement a été abordée par l'étude de sa stratification verticale dans le sol et des patterns d'hétérogénéité horizontaux. Enfin la distribution des espèces à ces différents niveaux a été mise en relation avec les facteurs physicochimiques du milieu. En définitive ce travail constitue la première étude approfondie d'un peuplement édaphique tropical prenant en compte au niveau spécifique un groupe dominant de décomposeurs.

No período em que os militares exerceram o poder político no Brasil, assumindo a direção do país (1964-1985), foi criado um órgão de repressão misto, que reunia elementos das três Forças Armadas e das diversas forças policiais: o Destacamento de Operações de Informações (DOI) - a partir de uma experiência piloto, a Operação Bandeirante. Criado e desarticulado durante o regime militar, o DOI foi um dos produtos mais específicos e marcantes da violência institucional praticada na época. Problematiza-se a função dos interrogatórios preliminares produzidos pelo DOI de São Paulo dentro da engrenagem repressiva, procurando compreender como se articulavam os dois eixos de atividade do órgão: informação e segurança. During the time that the military exerted the political power in Brazil, taking over the country\'s government (1964-1985), a mixed repression agency was created, assembling elements from the three Armed Forces and from several police forces: the Information Operations Detachment (DOI) - after a pilot experience, the Bandeirante Operation. Created and deactivated during the military rule, the DOI was one of the most specific and striking products of the institutional violence practiced during the period. One examines the function of preliminary interrogatories produced by the São Paulo DOI within the repressive gear, trying to understand how the two axis of activity of the agency, information and security, worked together. From the beginning of the DOI, one follows on to investigate how the preliminary interrogatories were processed, how their discursive ethos was constituted, the subjects of interest, and, finally, the methods employed to obtain information and to treat this information in order to build a \"coherent\" deposition, free of contradictions.

I den här uppsatsen har faktorer för en ökad användaracceptans och diffusion av Video on demand(VOD)-tjänster identifierats med hjälp av en litteraturgenomgång av tidigare studier i acceptans och diffusion. Litteraturgenomgången ligger till grund för en lista av faktorer som gör en konsument mer villig att anamma en VOD-tjänst. Faktorerna har sedan utvärderas genom en kvantitativ undersökning med hjälp av en webbenkät. Resultatet blev i stor grad det som förväntat där det framgår att utbud och kostnad är de viktigaste faktorerna för en hög acceptans, men även andra faktorer kan spela in som användarvänlighet, kvalitet och sociala faktorer.
This paper has identified factors for increased user acceptance and diffusion of Video on Demand(VOD) services through a literature review of previous studies. The literature review was used to make a list of factors that make a consumer more willing to use a VOD service. The factors are then evaluated through a quantitative study using an online questionnaire. The result was to a large degree what was expected, which shows that content and cost are the main factors for a high acceptance, but other factors may play in as well such as ease-of-use, quality, and social factors.

Lo scopo di questo progetto ́e lo sviluppo di un rivelatore PET innovativo in grado di raggiungere alte prestazioni per quanto riguarda risoluzione spaziale, energetica e temporale mantenendo la complessit ́a del sistema ragionevolmente bassa. Il modulo PET proposto si basa su una matrice di cristalli scintillanti e un rivelatore (MPPC). Se paragonato ad una configurazione a doppia lettura in cui la luce di scintillazione ́e raccolta da entrambe le estremit ́a del modulo, nella configurazione proposta, un rivelatore ́e sostituito da una guida di luce e un ma- teriale riflettente. La luce raccolta dal secondo rivelatore nella configurazione a doppia lettura ́e invece ricircolata e collezionata dai rivelatori vicini grazie alla guida di luce posizionata sul modulo. Sfruttando questo meccanismo di condivisione della luce, ́e possibile raggiungere le stesse prestazioni di una con- figurazione a doppia lettura diminuendo il numero di canali richiesti. E ́ inoltre possibile adottare un accoppiamento tra cristalli e rivelatori maggiore di uno ri- ducendo ulteriormente i canali di lettura. Studiando infatti la distribuzione della luce condivisa ́e possibile identificare il cristallo in cui ́e avvenuta l’interazione del raggio gamma. Numerose matrici sono state testate con differenti configu- razioni di accoppiamento tra cristalli e rivelatore (uno a uno, quattro a uno e nove a uno) e i risultati hanno confermato un ottima capacit ́a di identificazione del cristallo colpito e una risoluzione energetica di 12 % FWHM (configura- zione uno a uno e quattro a uno) e 16% FWHM (configurazione nove a uno). Per quanto riguarda macchine PET con piccolo campo di vista, ́e presente un peggioramento della risoluzione spaziale vicino agli estremi del campo di vista stesso dovuto all’errore di parallasse. Questo ́e mitigato dalla conoscenza della profondit ́a di interazione del raggio gamma (informazione DOI). La possibilit ́a di ottenere questa informazione nel modulo proposto ́e stata testata e una riso- luzione DOI di 3mm FWHM misurata per le configurazioni uno a uno e quattro a uno, mentre per la configurazione nove a uno la risoluzione DOI ́e risultata essere 4 mm FWHM. Al fine di ottenere l’informazione sulla profondit ́a di in- terazione ́e stato necessario introdurre un effetto di attenuazione di luce lungo l’asse del cristallo con l’effetto per ́o di peggiorare le prestazioni temporali del modulo. Un metodo per includere il DOI nella misura della risoluzione tem- porale ́e stato quindi sviluppato. Il modulo proposto presenta una risoluzione temporale di 353 ps FWHM. La seconda parte del progetto ́e lo sviluppo di un algoritmo di ricostruzione di immagini metaboliche capace di includere sia l’informazione temporale che il DOI. L’algoritmo ́e presentato e uno studio di simulazioni condotto al fine di confermare i vantaggi sia dell’informazione DOI che della risoluzione temporale nella qualit ́a delle immagini ricostruite. Per fini- re, uno studio completo sulla PET con informazioni del tempo di volo (TOF) ́e stato effettuato valutando il miglioramento del rapporto segnale-rumore e della risoluzione spaziale in funzione delle prestazioni temporali del sistema.
Positron emission tomography (PET) is a technique based on the detection of two back to back 511 keV gamma rays originated by a positron-electron annihilation. The aim of this project is to develop an innovative PET detector module with high performances, in term of spatial, energy and timing resolution while maintaining the overall complexity reasonably low. The proposed module is based on a pixellated LYSO matrix and MPPC detector. Compared to double side readout configuration in which the scintillators are read on both sides by detectors, one detector is replaced by an optical light guide and a reflector. The light collected by the second detector in the double side readout approach is instead recirculated and collected by the nearby detectors thanks to the light guide on top of the module. Enabling this light sharing mechanism allows rea- ching the same performances of a double side readout configuration decreasing the number of detector channels needed. Furthermore, it is possible to adopt a more than one to one coupling between scintillators and detector in order to further decrease the number of channels needed and to improve the spatial re- solution of the system. Studying the shared light distribution allows identifying the crystal in which the gamma ray interaction took place. Several matrices are tested with different coupling between scintillators and detectors (one to one, four to one and nine to one) and the results show good crystals identification capabilities and an energy resolution in the order of 12% FWHM (one to one and four to one configurations) and 16% FWHM (nine o one configuration). For small animal and organ dedicated PET devices, there is a spatial resolution degradation close to the edges of the field of view (FOV) due to parallax error. This effect is mitigated by knowing the interaction position along the crystal main axis and this information is known as depth of interaction (DOI). The DOI capabilities of the proposed module are tested and a value of 3 mm FWHM DOI resolution is reached for the one to one and four to one coupling configuration. For the nine to one configuration a DOI resolution of 4 mm FWHM is obtained. In order to reach the DOI information, an attenuation behavior over the crystal length is introduced but, as drawback, it decreases the timing performances of the proposed module. A method to reduce this effect is presented by including the DOI information in the evaluation of the timing resolution. The module shows a coincidence time resolution of 353 ps FWHM. The second part of this project is focused on the development of an image reconstruction software able to include both the DOI and timing information. The reconstruction algorithm is described and presented and a simulation study is performed in order to confirm the benefits of the DOI and timing in the image quality. Furthermore, a complete time of flight (TOF) study is performed evaluating the improvement of the signal to noise (SNR) ratio and spatial resolution as a function of the timing performances.

New corrole–BODIPY conjugates have been synthesized in high yield under mild conditions. Upon excitation at the absorption maximum of the BODIPY antenna chromophore, the fluorescence intensity of the free base corrole–BODIPY conjugate increases by ca. 300%, and significant phosphorescence intensity is observed for the iridium(III) complex of the conjugate, while almost no phosphorescence is observed for the parent iridium(III) corrole, due to through-bond energy transfer from the BODIPY antenna-chromophore to the corrole core.

A lipophilic and electron-rich phthalocyanine (α,α′-n-OC5H11)8-H2Pc and its nickel(II) complex (α,α′-n-OC5H11)8-Ni(II)Pc have been synthesized and characterized. Detailed analyses of the electronic structure were carried out by spectroscopy, electrochemistry, spectroelectrochemistry, and TD-DFT calculations. A series of experiments demonstrate that the (α,α′-n-OC5H11)8-Ni(II)Pc complex can be used as a catalyst for highly efficient carbonyl reductions.

This study examines the status of corporate human rights responsibility as an emerging concern in Vietnam. The introduction of Doi Moi policy in 1986 has enhanced Vietnam’s economic development and integration into the global economy. On the one hand, the increased foreign investment and corporate activity that resulted from the transition of a closed and planned economy to a market-based system have improved human rights in Vietnam, particularly economic and social rights. On the other hand, the boom in business activity has significantly increased the risk and incidence of human rights violations by the business sector. This study used qualitative primary research and secondary research to identify and analyse the gaps in the existing response to business-related human rights challenges in Vietnam. The study found that a number of political, legal, economic, social and cultural barriers, both nationally and internationally, make it challenging to implement corporate human rights responsibility in Vietnam. In Vietnam, human rights are often viewed as a political issue that should concern government rather than private actors like corporations. Government policy and legislation have largely focused on encouraging investment rather than imposing human rights responsibility on corporations. Social and cultural norms typically support corporate social responsibility for moral or charitable reasons, rather than reasons related to human rights. The research demonstrated that the intersection of corporations with human rights issues in Vietnam operates largely through activities associated with corporate social responsibility. Corporate social responsibility is a concept introduced to Vietnam primarily through foreign corporations which require, for example, local contractors to implement labour standards. Although human rights violations by corporations are increasing, the current perception and response to corporate human rights responsibility in Vietnam are incomplete and lack political will and capacity. The issue is seldom discussed in business forums, government work, or academic studies. Similar to the situation in other developing countries like China, India, Cambodia, the international standards on business and human rights have little influence and application in Vietnam. There have been no explicit human rights policy, law or supporting programs that specifically address corporate human rights responsibility in Vietnam. Building on these findings, the thesis develops arguments as to why and how the situation can be changed in order to strengthen corporate responsibility for human rights in Vietnam. These arguments culminate in a detailed recommendation that the state implement a strategic framework on corporate human rights responsibility.

In the last three years Peru has gone through changes in the process of strengthening and disseminating open access, especially regarding digital theses and research or governmental data. Enactment of Law 30035, which establishes and regulates the Open Access National Digital Repository of Science, Technology and Innovation; the Regulations of the National Registry of Research Papers Submitted for Academic Degrees and Professional Titles, RENATI; the National Strategy for Open Governmental Data, Peru 2017-2021; and the Peruvian Open Governmental Data Model constitute all a legal framework that fosters open access. Within this context, since 2013 the Peruvian University for Applied Science, UPC, has implemented policies aimed to foster open access to academic and scientific information, as well to support the use of interoperable technological platforms. As a result, in March of 2013, the UPC Academic Repository was published. And, recently, UPC adopted as mandatory the open access publication of bachelor’s and master’s theses. In the last three years, the UPC Academic Repository ranked among the top in the Webometrics Repositories (Peru), and showed a significant improvement at the Latin American and World level: At the national level, it went from being ranked 13th in January 2013 to 3rd in January 2017. Worldwide, it went from being ranked 1,516th in January 2013 to 849th in January 2017. In Latin America, in January 2017 it was ranked 62nd among 217 repositories. All actions implemented have been complemented with the following strategies: the open access publication of the theses-related data; the use of diverse metadata standards —Dublin Core Qualifiers, ETD-MS, DRIVER 2.0 and OpenAIRE—; the use of the OAI-PMH interoperable protocol; the implementation of identifiers of digital content —DOI and Handle— and identifiers for users —ORCID and Google Profile—; and curation of digital content. Future activities will be oriented to increase visibility of the UPC repository contents. To this end, we have proposed the following: to use DOI in bachelor’s and master’s theses; increase the number of bibliographical records for theses and their data; monitor and assess consultations to UPC theses as shown by national repositories ALICIA and RENATI; and, finally, implement an automated system for managing theses integrated into the UPC Academic Repository.

Abstract:

This dissertation is the result of research project, linked to the line of research Migrations and Work, of the Graduate Program in History at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), developed in its final period with research grant CAPES/DS. Its general objective is to synthesize the repressive actions of the DOI/CODI/II Army, at the time of the confrontation of political resistance of the Civil-Military Dictatorship, in particular between 1970 to 1977, through the military vision and contrast arising from use of the concept of transitional justice, in the quest for accountability and repair of systematic human rights abuses. Furthermore, as a result of the developments of State strategies aimed at the maintenance of national security, in that same time span, the DOI-CODI/II Army detained approximately 6,897 people, and have been identified officially, through the Presidency of the Republic, 64 cases of killings and forced disappearances by its functional apparatus. To achieve the objective proposed were elaborated the following issues: (a) In that location for the bases for legitimacy of the repressive structure of the DOI-CODI/II Army, in the panorama of the formation of the strategic thinking about national security policy, in the period preceding the years 1970-1977? (b) considering the cases of deaths and forced disappearance, the police-military apparatus of the DOI/CODI/II Army, exposed in the book right to memory and truth, official report of the Presidency of the Republic, to what extent the concept of transitional justice collaborates with the construction of historical knowledge about the repressive actions of the DOI-CODI/II Army? In this way, the first chapter of the dissertation is dedicated to the theme of military thought and its external and internal influences on demarcation of national security policy, which aims to carry out the search for legal/formal basis for the development of the repressive actions of the DOI-CODI/II Army. The itinerary of military thought between the Escola Superior de Guerra (ESG), the National Security Council and the National strategic concept points the way to better understand the repressive actions of the DOI-CODI/II Army. In this sense, the aim of this chapter is the military thinking about national security policy, which emphasizes the influence of the Escola Superior de Guerra (ESG) for the development of the military strategy of repressive activities in Brazilian society. The second chapter has as main theme the repressive policy adopted by the Civil-Military Dictatorship, developed by its military-police apparatus to eliminate political resistance. The military vision about the repressive actions of the DOI-CODI/II Army is concentrated mainly in this chapter, in particular, in public demonstrations that repressive body commanders writings. The third and final chapter of the dissertation deals with transitional justice measures, proposed by the MPF, to combat the impunity of human rights abuses committed in the course of the activities of the DOI/CODI/II Army. In this chapter, the study focuses the civil action, the MPF initiative in São Paulo, where notably public civil actions were examined related to the repressive actions of the DOI-CODI of Sao Paulo.
Esta dissertação é resultado de projeto de pesquisa, vinculado à Linha de Pesquisa Migrações e Trabalho, do Programa de Pós-Graduação em História da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM), desenvolvido em seu período final com bolsa de pesquisa CAPES/DS. Seu objetivo geral é sintetizar a atuação repressiva do DOI/CODI/II Exército, no momento do enfrentamento da resistência política da Ditadura Civil-Militar, em especial entre 1970 a 1977, através da visão militar e da contraposição surgida do emprego do conceito de justiça de transição, na busca por responsabilização e reparação de abusos sistemáticos de direitos humanos. Ademais, em decorrência dos desdobramentos das estratégias estatais destinadas à manutenção da Segurança Nacional, naquele mesmo espaço de tempo, o DOI/CODI/II Exército deteve aproximadamente 6.897 cidadãos, e foram identificados, oficialmente através da Presidência da República, 64 casos de mortes e desaparecimentos forçados pelo seu aparato funcional. Para se alcançar o objetivo proposto foram elaboradas as seguintes questões: (a) Em que local buscar as bases para legitimação da estrutura repressiva do DOI/CODI/II Exército, no panorama da formação do pensamento estratégico acerca da Política de Segurança Nacional, no período anterior aos anos de 1970- 1977? (b) Considerando-se os casos de mortes e desaparecimentos forçados, pelo aparato policial-militar do DOI/CODI/II Exército, expostos no livro Direito à memória e à verdade, relatório oficial da Presidência da República, em que medida o conceito de justiça de transição colabora com a construção do conhecimento histórico acerca da atuação repressiva do DOI/CODI/II Exército? Dessa forma, o primeiro capítulo da dissertação está voltado para o tema do pensamento militar e de suas influências externas e internas na delimitação da Política de Segurança Nacional, sendo que visa realizar a busca pela base legal/formal para o desenvolvimento da atuação repressiva do DOI/CODI/II Exército. O itinerário do pensamento militar entre a Escola Superior de Guerra (ESG), o Conselho de Segurança Nacional e o Conceito Estratégico Nacional aponta-se como o caminho para melhor compreender a atuação repressiva do DOI/CODI/II Exército. Nesse sentido, o alvo deste capítulo é o pensamento militar acerca da Política de Segurança Nacional, do qual se enfatiza a influência da Escola Superior de Guerra (ESG) para o desenvolvimento da estratégia militar de atuação repressiva na sociedade brasileira. O segundo capítulo possui como tema principal a política repressiva adotada pela Ditadura Civil-Militar, desenvolvida por seu aparato militar-policial para eliminar a resistência política. A visão militar sobre a atuação repressiva do DOI/CODI/II Exército está concentrada, principalmente, neste capítulo, em especial, nas manifestações públicas escritas dos comandantes daquele organismo repressivo. O terceiro e último capítulo da dissertação, trata das medidas de justiça de transição, propostas pelo MPF, para combater a impunidade dos abusos de direitos humanos, praticados no decorrer das atividades do DOI/CODI/II Exército. Neste capítulo, o estudo dedica-se as providências cíveis, de iniciativa do MPF em São Paulo, onde notadamente foram examinadas as Ações Civis Públicas relacionadas à atuação repressiva do DOI/CODI de São Paulo.

Abstract:

This study explored the phenomenon of electronic medical records systems in Zimbabwean primary healthcare institutions. The goal of the study was to investigate the lack of adoption of electronic medical records systems by primary healthcare institutions in developing countries using an interpretative case study approach focusing on the Zimbabwean context. Despite the positive benefits that are associated with EMRs, developing countries have been reluctant in implementing this technology within their primary healthcare institutions. A number of studies have been conducted on EMR systems but only a few have investigated the reasons for the limited use of EMR technology in developing countries particularly within the Zimbabwean context. This study primarily adopted a case study approach and was qualitative in nature. The study made use of in-depth interviews to obtain its data, and purposive sampling method was used to identify participants for the study. The study made use of a sample size of fourteen respondents who were identified based on their knowledge and could assist explore this particular topic relevant to the research. The targeted population for this research were key staff members privy to patients’ medical records management within the primary healthcare facilities. The data collected was analysed using thematic analysis soon after the transcription process. The results of the study show that EMRs technology in Zimbabwe has been implemented on a limited scale within its public hospitals. The technology is being used mostly in HIV/AIDS management or in particular departments. The study reveals that although healthcare institutions in Zimbabwe have adopted EMRs technology, most of the information is still being archived on the paper based system. The findings of the study show that Zimbabwe hasn’t adopted EMRs due to challenges such as lack of proper infrastructures, resistance in the use of EMRs, remoteness, shortages in skilled labour and concerns of confidentiality and privacy. Furthermore, the study shows that though the application of the EMR system is limited in Zimbabwean hospitals, the study found that its benefits have been noticeable. EMR technology has made it easy to access information, averted redundant expenditure and has made time improvements. However, the study revealed that EMR systems come with their own shortcomings such as lack of access to patient documents due to network faults and the need for familiarity with computer systems.

Cílem diplomové práce na téma ?Analýza a perspektivy hospodářských vztahů ČR s Vietnamem? je zejména rozbor aktuální situace v obchodních vztazích mezi Českou republikou a Vietnamskou socialistickou republikou. Práce podává obraz o působení ekonomických reforem realizovaných ve Vietnamu v posledních dvou desetiletích na hospodářské vztahy s Českou republikou. Je zde zmapován dosavadní vývoj vzájemné ekonomické spolupráce a jsou identifikovány možné budoucí obchodní příležitosti pro české podnikatelské subjekty. Mimo jiné jsou v práci popsány formy podpory českých podnikatelů vstupujících na vietnamský trh ze strany českých státních orgánů, představitelů vlády a dalších odpovědných agentur, ale také předpokládané dopady vstupu Vietnamu do WTO na vzájemný obchod s ČR.

Abstract:

Cloud computing innovation adoption literature has primarily focused on individuals, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations. The functional linkage between cloud adoption and diffusion is instrumental toward understanding enterprise firm-level adoption. The purpose of this qualitative collective case study was to explore strategies used by information technology (IT) executives to make advantageous enterprise cloud adoption and diffusion decisions. This study was guided by an integrated diffusion of innovation and technology, organization, and environment conceptual framework to capture and model this complex, multifaceted problem. The study’s population consisted of IT executives with cloud-centric roles in 3 large (revenues greater than $5 billion) telecom-related companies with a headquarters in the United States. Data collection included semistructured, individual interviews (n = 19) and the analysis of publicly available financial documents (n = 50) and organizational technical documents (n = 41). Data triangulation and interviewee member checking were used to increase study findings validity. Inter- and intracase analyses, using open and axial coding as well as constant comparative methods, were leveraged to identify 5 key themes namely top management support, information source bias, organizational change management, governance at scale, and service selection. An implication of this study for positive social change is that IT telecom executives might be able to optimize diffusion decisions to benefit downstream consumers in need of services.

Abstract:

Nowadays consumers have become more and more socially conscious because of the rising concern about social and environmental issues. In this context, large scale companies are one of the main actors which are required to increase their efforts. They have increased the amount of charity actions or philanthropic collaboration in the latest years but both have shown limited effects and benefits especially on the long-term. This research is treating a new kind of partnership between large scale companies and social enterprises which is based on a true business approach with a long-term strategy. This new type of partnership requires a higher effort for its sustainability on the long-term and there was a gap in the literature when it comes to that point and it is this gap that this research aims to fill. The research was conducted through the analysis of a case study about the partnership between IKEA and Doi Tung, a social enterprise based in Thailand. Through semi-structured interviews conducted with both parts, it was possible to point out the challenges faced by large scale companies and social enterprises during their partnership but also to highlight four keys aspects which ensure the sustainability of this type of partnership; partnership selection and preparation, partnership driver, partnership nature, and partnership adaptation. The research contributes to the knowledge in the area of entrepreneurship and practical knowledge on the corporate-social enterprise partnership.
