Abstract:
Abstract Evsey Domar investigated in the 1940s the implementation of growth stabilization policy under the assumption that policy makers and businessmen alike believed his theoretical growth model. Economic policy was supposed to work merely through the impact of its announcement on expectations. He claimed that confident expectations, generated by government’s assurance of future growth through fiscal policy, would induce private investment decisions in a scale that would bring about the required growth rate and by that justify the expectations, without putting the guarantee to test. Domar’s policy framework contrasts with the policy-ineffectiveness proposition of New Classical macroeconomics advanced in the 1970s. Domar’s stabilization plan is discussed in detail in the context of his growth model, together with similar ideas put forward by Roy Harrod, as the latter modified aspects of his original growth model, and critical reactions by Alvin Hansen.

Abstract:
In this paper, we propose a macroeconomic growth model, in which we take into account memory with power-law fading and gamma distributed lag. This model is a generalization of the standard Harrod–Domar growth model. Fractional differential equations of this generalized model with memory and lag are suggested. For these equations, we obtain solutions, which describe the macroeconomic growth of national income with fading memory and distributed time-delay. The asymptotic behavior of these solutions is described.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The field experiment was conducted at MLT site Pirgon, Rangpur and Domar, Nilphamari for two consecutive years 2015-17 to introduce BARI Sarisha-14 in the fallow period and to study the comparative agronomic performance and economic return of two cropping sequences (viz. improved cropping pattern-Mustard-Boro rice-T. aman rice and existing cropping pattern -Fallow-Boro rice-T. aman rice) for increasing cropping intensity, productivity and land use efficiency. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design with six dispersed replications. Two years mean data showed that the improved management practices for the pattern provided significantly higher yield in improved pattern. Higher rice equivalent yield (REY) of cropping system (mean value 14.49 t ha-1) was recorded with the improved pattern over existing pattern at MLT site Pirganj. REY increased 4.60 t ha-1by inclusion of mustard with improved production technologies for the component crops. Similar results were also found in Domar. The gross return of the improved pattern was BDT.239091 ha-1 which was more than 46.44% higher than farmers’ pattern of BDT.163267 ha-1 at MLT site Pirganj and in Domar gross return of the improved pattern was BDT.241345 ha-1 which was more than 44.18% higher than farmers’ pattern of BDT.167392 ha-1.The gross margin was higher in improved cropping pattern in both locations than existing pattern due to addition of Mustard. Abstract:
A useful contribution of wide ranging debate in the growth literature is that it has put forward a number of testable hypotheses. One of such hypotheses is known as the convergence hypothesis whereby it is postulated that in the long run developing countries would catch-up with the developed countries in terms of per capita income. Although the convergence hypothesis has gained researchers’ interest in recent times, the basic proposition was laid down in the neo-classical growth model of Solow (1956) and Swan (1956). Traditionally Solow-Swan model has been regarded as a theoretically consistent answer to Harrods’s (1939) twin problems of discrepancy between the warranted and natural rates of growth and instability in the growth process. Although Solow- Swan model is designed to study growth process within a single country, the concept of conditional convergence is far from being alien to the model; it in fact forms the core of argument in the attack on Harrod-Domar model [Harrod (1939) and Domar (1946)].

The study aimed to: Understand and analyze the poors perceptions and attitude on poverty reduction programs, identify, elaborate, and analyzethe term poor among the poor people and identify and analyze meaning and expectation on poverty reduction program. This research applies developmental research method; the analysis model uses SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). Before applying this model, goodness of fit was conducted in order to find out whether this model can be accepted or not. The model could achived goodness of fit; therefore, all variables could follow hypothesis test. The research result showed the changed in economic structures have direct significant influence on the government’s stimulus and economic growth. Capital establishment also has direct unsignificant effect on the government’s stimulus. Capitall establishment has significant influence to the economic growth and the socio cultural influence does not have significant influence to the economic growth. These results indicate that the greater stimulus of the government signified by precise goals leads to better economic growth.

Abstract:
In the Domar model, based on the Keynesian multiplier theory, investment generates savings. Therefore, savings cannot fund investments, at least ex ante. Investments have first to be financed by bank credit, hence the question on their repayment. In this article, we suppose that investments are financed by bank credits issued on several periods, as it typically takes years for firms to reimburse their investment debt. What we then obtain is that, in order to avoid an overproduction crisis, the rate of capital accumulation has to gradually rise throughout a growth phase. This result paves the way to a theory of cycles based on the repayment of bank credits.

Abstract:

Erosion and accretion rate are found very high in the estuary of an active delta which can be observed by satellite imageries. According to the multispectral satellite imageries it is found that accretion of Domar Char (a little island belongs to Meghna estuary) was more than 1192 hectares in last 25 years. The study was conducted in five years interval from 1990 to 2015 using spatial analyst extension of ArcGIS. It is revealed that accretion rate is about 208 hectares/year and erosion is about 160 hectares/year, which indicates the dynamic nature of the island. According to Landsat imageries about 2500 hectares of land rose in five years (1990 to 1995) and again lost 2300 hectares of land in next five years (1995 to 2000). Though the total area of intertidal zone has decreased, the area of barren land, vegetation and sand dune has increased over the time. Asiat. Soc. Bangladesh, Sci. 42(2): 219-228, December 2016

Escola. Tempo Livre. AbstractThis article presents a reflection on the relevance of philosophy and its contributions to educational thinking. A brief historical and philosophical context was carried out with the objective of understanding how existing relationships in contemporary society seek to tame the school - that is, how they cross school practices, make it difficult to use free time to learn in an egalitarian space. The methodology used was the bibliographical study, based on a survey of related productions, which allowed contextualizing the theme of educational thought and some relationships between school and society. From the selected texts, it was considered the authors who articulate the school education and the power of taming and subordination that the capitalist society exerts on the school, realizing that the formative practices of the human being are directed to attend the labor market , reproducing, to a large extent, capitalist relationships. However, the school is thus a potentially propitious place to promote egalitarian social relationships, in the sense that it offers free time to learn, which is translated as one of the main transformative potentialities of the school. Keywords: Educational Thinking. School. Free time.

Abstract:

Abstract:
In the theory of economic systems, the Yugoslav economy serves as the one example of the self-managed, participatory, labor-managed, socialist market economy. Benjamin Ward's "lliyrian firm" (Ward, 1958), Evsey Domar's "producers' cooperative" (Domar, 1966), Jaroslav Vanek's "tabormanaged market eco~omy" (Vanek, 1970) and Branko Horvat's "realistic model" (Horvat, 1972) have all been (iirectly or indirectly inspired by the particularities of the Yugoslav institutional setting. This setting has, however, not been very stable. Thus, Yugoslav post-war systemic development is often divided into distinct systemic periods.

Abstract:
This essay relates recent developments in growth theory to problems and ideas that first engaged R. F. Harrod, E. Domar, and their neoclassical successors. The body of ‘new growth theory’ began by finding special ways to assume that there are constant returns to capital. It is shown that this is a very nonrobust assumption, thus not a good basis for growth theory. More promising is the attempt to create a genuinely endogenous theory of the process of innovation. This notion has always been present in the literature or just beneath the surface. Current ideas, for all their ingenuity, may be too mechanical.

Abstract:

Abstract:
In this paper I consider the relation between gross output– and value added–based total factor productivity (TFP) measures. It appears that, without any (micro-)economic theory being required, a conditional relationship between TFP indices can be derived, in which the Domar factor plays an important role. At the same time it turns out that gross output– and value added–based TFP indicators (difference-type measures) always coincide. In the Divisia index framework and maintaining the classical assumptions (profit maximization and a production technology that exhibits globally constant returns to scale), it appears that both TFP indices measure technological change, albeit in a dual way. In establishing this result, no separability assumptions are involved. Both indices are in general path-dependent. Path independence of the gross output–based TFP index requires that the technology exhibit Hicks input neutrality, whereas path independence of the value added–based TFP index requires Hicks value-added neutrality. These two concepts of neutrality are, however, not dual.
