Abstract:
Partner violence and partner separation at the time of completed suicide were investigated in 42 male alcoholics originally described by Murphy (1992). Half of the men had domestic violence histories. Partner‐violent men were younger, had an earlier age of onset of alcoholism, and were more likely to be separated from their partner at the time of death than partner‐nonviolent men. Loss of a close personal relationship, often a domestic partner, is common during the last year of life among alcoholic men completing suicide. Domestic violence appears to typify many of their domestic relationships, particularly among younger men and men with early onset alcoholism.

Abstract:
Background of the study: Alcoholism is one of the major health and social problems all over the world. Alcoholism is a significant problem in India. There is a vast body of literature in India and in the West devoted to understanding the marital dynamics involved in alcoholism and ascertaining the deleterious impact that alcoholism could have on the personality and function of spouse. Aim : Assess the levels of Stress, Domestic violence and coping strategies among the wives of patients with alcoholic dependence.. Methodology: A descriptive survey design is used to assess level of stress, domestic violence and coping strategies among wives of patients with alcohol dependence admitted at DIMHANS, DHARWAD. Non-probability purposive sampling technique was adopted for data collection from 100 wives of alcoholics admitted in wards of the DIMHANS. Results : Data was analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics, majority of the participants had moderate level of stress(61%).Assessment of the overall level of domestic violence revealed that 54% wives of alcoholics had average domestic violence. Assessment of the overall level of coping strategies revealed that 63% wives of alcoholics had average coping. There was a partial association between the level of stress, domestic violence and coping strategies of the wives of patients with alcohol dependence with demographic variable only religion (χ2=6.9170, p=02), had significant relationship with level of stress. The result found non-significant negative correlation(r= -0.1810 p= 0.0720) was observed between stress and domestic violence scores and non significant positive correlation(r=0.0793 p=0.4330) was observed between stress and coping strategies scores. But significant and negative correlation (r= -0.2407 p=0.0160*) (*p<0.05) was observed between domestic violence and coping strategies scores. It means that domestic violence and coping strategies scores are dependent on each other. Conclusion: Research needs to focus on the impact of stress, domestic violence and coping on health, a nurse plays a pivotal role both in hospital and community setting in improving the health of the Individual. Innovative approaches in this field have to be initiated in nursing.

Abstract:
Background: Alcoholism Physiological problems (hand tremors and blackouts), Psychological problems, (an obsessive desire to drink), Behavioral problems that affect work or social life. Spouses of the alcoholic may experience psychological problems due to her life with the alcoholic husband. The spouses of the alcoholic individuals experience high levels of stress from dual problems husband’s alcoholism and domestic violence by the husband and are thus a high-risk group. In alcoholism, spouses are mainly affected because of the intimate nature of the relationship with the husband and constant exposure to the behavior of alcoholics. This study aimed to assess the stress and coping strategies among the spouses of the alcoholic. Objectives: 1. To assess stress and coping strategies among the spouses of the alcoholic in de-addiction centers. 2. To find the correlation between stress and coping strategies among the spouses of the alcoholic in de-addiction centers. 3. To find the association between stress and coping strategies among the spouses of the alcoholic in de-addiction centers with selected demographic variables. Methodology: A Descriptive research design study was conducted among 50spouses of the alcoholic in de-addiction centers, Puducherry. Each spouse of the alcoholic was selected through a non-probability purposive sampling method and was assessed stress and coping strategies among the spouses of the alcoholic by using a standardized tool (Perceived stress standardized scale and Carver, C. S. (1997) coping strategy scale). The collected data were computerized and analyzed using SPSS version 25. The analysis was done using Frequency, Percentage; Pearson correlation r test, and Chi-square test. Results: The result shows that the stress level, majority of the spouses of the alcoholic41 (82%) had a moderate level of stress and 9 (18%) had a high perceived level of stress and the coping strategies level, majority of the spouses of the alcoholic 36 (72%) had a moderate level of coping strategies and 14 (28%) had a low level of coping strategies. Conclusion: The study concludes the majority of the spouses of the alcoholic had a moderate level of stress and coping strategies. Hence, an Awareness program on the prevention of alcoholism can be started in this group to educate the public in both the clinical and community settings and Pamphlets can be given to the spouses of the alcoholic. The Psychological health care service administration should plan and formulate policies for spouses of the alcoholic.

Abstract:
The article examines the influence of alcoholism as one of the main factors contributing to domestic violence. It was established that alcoholism is a problem that significantly increases the psychological causes of violence, is a significant factor that affects the spread of domestic violence, as it significantly changes a person’s behavior and psycho-emotional state. Under the influence of alcohol, people can lose self-control, become more aggressive and prone to violent actions, which is especially dangerous in the home environment, where interaction takes place against the background of close relationships and emotional dependence. It is motivated that people under the influence of alcohol can exaggerate the importance of minor misunderstandings or react to them with disproportionate aggression, which leads to the escalation of conflicts that could be resolved without violence under normal circumstances. It is indicated that an important aspect is that alcoholism affects the psychological state of all family members. Victims of violence, especially domestic violence, often feel isolated and vulnerable, which can lead to social tension and conflict in communities. Victims of domestic violence may experience constant fear and stress due to the unpredictability of their partner’s behavior, which creates a state of chronic tension that can lead to mental disorders. It is highlighted how the use of alcohol changes a person’s behavior, reducing his ability to self-control and increasing the risk of aggressive actions. Particular attention is paid to how alcoholism creates economic instability and psychological stress for victims, making it difficult to get out of violent relationships. The social aspect of the problem was also investigated, in particular the influence of the cultural legitimization of alcohol on the perception of violence. In some societies, alcohol is part of a cultural practice that can contribute to the normalization of aggressive behavior and reduce the perceived seriousness of violence. To effectively combat domestic violence, it is necessary to change social norms and raise awareness of the negative consequences of alcoholism, while providing adequate support to victims.

Abstract:
Alcoholism is characterized by persistent and uncontrollable consumption of alcoholic beverages, which poses significant risks to physical, psychological, and emotional health, including conditions such as liver cirrhosis, epilepsy, cancer, hypertension, and diabetes. Furthermore, it contributes to substantial social and economic challenges, including road accidents, domestic abuse, unemployment, and elevated crime rates. In Kenya, 12.2% of the population engages in alcohol abuse, where 10.4% are afflicted by alcohol-use disorders, thereby constituting a pressing public health concern. This study introduces a deterministic mathematical model describing alcoholism, which integrates treatment and counselling components and is articulated through the Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs) framework. The model evaluates the ramifications of treatment for alcoholism, with stability analysis executed through the Jacobian matrix methodology and sensitivity analysis employing normalized forward sensitivity techniques. The reproduction number R0 was ascertained utilizing the next-generation matrix approach, wherein R0 > 0 indicates ongoing alcohol misuse within the susceptible population. Global stability analysis conducted through the Quadratic- Lyapunov method indicates that the Alcohol-Free Equilibrium (AFE) and Alcoholic Equilibrium (AE) are globally asymptotically unstable. Numerical simulations were done to forecast the impact of critical parameters, with these simulations underscoring the necessity of enhancing recruitment into the treatment compartment and minimizing relapse rates to render alcoholism manageable. Effective intervention strategies encompass public awareness initiatives, reduction of stigma, provision of incentives for treatment engagement, enhancement of treatment services, and the utilization of technological advancements for ongoing support. This research bears significant implications for the legislators and the Ministry of Health in formulating policies that establish a robust foundation for future endeavours aimed at controlling alcohol addiction.

Abstract:
Alcohol consumption is one among a number of factors in the etiology of violent crime which includes domestic violence. Domestic violence usually designates: violence between partners (spouses) and violence towards children and elderly parents. The aim of this article is to highlight the impact of alcohol abuse (intoxication) and alcohol dependence on domestic violence, but also to emphasize the multifactoriality of this relation, the economic damage that society suffers and the society?s very role with regard to the alcohol-crime relation. Presented are also different research projects and statistical data regarding the prevalence of this phenomena, together with three case studies that involved violent behavior towards the spouse, children and parents. The offenders received an order of compulsory treatment of alcoholism in a psychiatric institution and have been treated and observed for two years (psychotherapy and support clubs). The literature and the experiences of psychotherapeutic practice lead to a conclusion that prevention of alcohol abuse and alcoholism is indeed one of the factors that play a significant role in reducing the rate of violent crime, especially of domestic violence.

Abstract:
Introduction Domestic violence is a critical global and social phenomenon. Objectives - To describe the socio-demographic and clinical characteristics related to the abuser in the context of domestic violence. - To study risk factors for acting out in the abuser. Methods We conducted a descriptive cross-sectional study related to male abusers of their wives who consulted the Forensic Medicine Department of Taher Sfar Hospital in Mahdia between January 2020 and October 2020 for a forensic examination. Results We collected 67 cases of domestic violence out of a total of 688 female consultants. The age of the abuser exceeded 35 years in 84% of cases. The average age of the abusers was 33.8 years. Almost half of the abusers had a primary school education. In 43% of the cases, the abuser was unemployed or had a job with a salary below the minimum wage. We found an association between domestic violence and the unfavorable professional status of the spouse. Only in 6% of the cases did the abuser have a psychiatric disorder. He had a history of chronic alcoholism in 35% of the cases and the use of illicit substances (cannabis) in 9% of the cases. Approximately one out of every two abusers (48%) was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the violent act. Alcoholism was associated with all forms of domestic violence. He had a criminal history in 30% of cases. Conclusions Our results provide real areas for reflection regarding the adoption of specific therapeutic strategies with domestic violence abusers. Abstract:
Conceptions about marriage with alcoholic relations (based on empirical and clinical research by domestic and foreign authors) are presented in the introductory part of the paper, followed by evaluations of marital (family) therapies and conclusions about its importance in treating alcoholism. The study has included 200 marital couples (husband-alcoholic) on therapy in three psychiatric institutions from Belgrade. Dyadic Adjustment Scale test has been applied, measuring (in three time points - on the beginning, in six months, and after one year of therapy) marital couple cohesion, satisfaction (with marital relations), emotional expression and consensus. The results show the existence of firm alcoholic marital system at the beginning of the treatment, with low consensus and high satisfaction, which has been deconstructing and changing over time and forming more functional (healthier) marital relationship. Couples (17) that self-excluded from the therapy in first two months have been compared with the sample of couples, which successfully completed the treatment. Differences (lower score on DAS) have been noted from the beginning - weaker marital dyad, in comparison to couples that completed the treatment. The results showed that system family (marital) therapy had influenced significant changes in marital relations - higher consensus, stronger emotional expression and cohesion, as well as satisfaction with non-alcoholic marital relations during one-year treatment.

Abstract:
Objective: Alcoholic men-women ratio has ranged from 14:1 to 2:1, suggesting that female alcoholism should be further studied. The purpose of the current study was to compare alcohol dependence severity and treatment outcome between alcoholic men and women. Methods: In this longitudinal study, 114 male and 57 female alcoholics (ICD-10 criteria), who started treatment between 1990 and 1994 at the Botucatu Medical School Outpatient Clinic, were retrospectively and prospectively assessed up to July 1997. Semi-structured interviews were conducted and the severity of alcohol dependence was assessed (Short Alcohol Dependence Data -- SADD). Results/Conclusions: The results showed poorly structured families, 55.6% of women and 65.7% of men reported relationship problems and 74.1% of women and 61.1% of men reported domestic violence. When compared to men, women started abusing alcohol later in life (p=0.01) and, usually, with their husbands (p=0.00). The course of treatment did not differ between genders. Regardless of gender, the main factors associated with a better response to treatment were: degree of alcohol dependence severity (mildly and moderately dependent users had 5.59-fold better chances of improvement than those severely dependent), religious practice (2.3-fold better chances of improving) and follow-up length, which was negatively associated with chance of improvement (0.68-fold less chance of improvement than those who remained under shorter treatment).

Abstract:
In recent years, biological methods and psychotherapy have been more widely used in the treatment of patients with chronic alcoholism. The search for new methods of treatment is explained, on the one hand, by the urgency of the problem of chronic alcoholism therapy in narcology, and on the other hand, by decrease of therapeutic efficiency of traditional sensitizing methods of treatment. In this regard, psychotherapeutic methods are increasingly being used since it is with their help that patients with alcoholism can overcome such phenomenon as anosognosia and then develop the desire to completely abstain from alcohol. At present in the domestic practice of psychotherapy for patients with chronic alcoholism there is a tendency to use a complex of methods with an emphasis on group forms of work. Attempts are made to combine collective methods of psychotherapy, which have the advantage of mutual influence of patients on each other, with the most individualized approach and coverage of each member of the psychotherapeutic group, based on personal properties of the patient's premorbid, properties of the disease development of personality, features of the patient's microsocial environment, personal value orientations.

Domestic violence is a serious social problem in contemporary American Indian communities and research is critical to create and evaluate prevention and intervention strategies. This small qualitative study sought to discover the ways in which men from a single reservation community with histories of domestic violence define and perceive domestic violence within the cultural context. The narratives held themes of intergenerational family violence and dysfunction, alcoholism, racism, isolation, deep grief, and remorse. Each of the narratives also revealed themes of healing and hope through connecting with elders, learning spiritual traditions and strengthening cultural identity as a means for achieving sobriety and lives of nonviolence.

Abstract:
The study examined the impact of social factors on individuals with household drinking problems during the Covid-19 pandemic. For this purpose, 80 people who applied to the multidisciplinary family polyclinic of Samarkand during the Covid-19 pandemic with various complaints were selected based on anamnestic surveys, and those with domestic alcoholism problems were selected. Anamnestic questionnaires (marital status, presence of young children, and work-related problems) were filled out to the selected patients. Changes in the amount of alcohol intake were examined by the Alcohol Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) screening questionnaire in adults. The subjects aged 25 to 45 years were selected for the study, their average age was 34.4 ± 3.2 years. As a result of the study, it was found that during the Covid-19 pandemic, the family status has almost no effect on the consumption of alcohol products, the presence of children under the age of 18 in the family has developed maladjustment and this affects the amount of alcohol consumption, the amount and frequency of alcohol consumption among divorced persons and those who have lost their source of income during the pandemic was found to have increased.

Abstract:
The goal of this research is the formation of conceptual foundation for administrative-legal regulation of fight against alcoholism, cognate with the development of practical recommendations aimed at increasing the efficiency of legal measures of overcoming negative consequences caused by consumption of alcohol beverages. The relevance of this work is determined by severity of the problems related to consumption of alcohol, and as a result, degradation of population, increase in mortality rates, destruction of moral and ethical values of the people, and aggravation of criminogenic situation. The Russian government has always used the administrative-legal measures to combat alcoholism. The object of this research is the social relations in historical retrospective that emerge, develop and transform under the influence of administrative-legal measures of combating alcoholism. The subject is administrative-legal measures of the government aimed at fight against alcoholism. The comparative-legal method allowed juxtaposing the legal measures implemented in prerevolutionary, Soviet and current legislation. The scientific novelty consists in articulation of the problem underlining the need for scientific analysis of administrative-legal measures of combating alcoholism at the domestic level and recommendations on its optimization. The major dilemma of administrative alcohol policy is that one the one hand, excessive liberalization of the consumption of alcohol beverages is the cause of alcoholization of population, while on the other – tightening of control measure leads to the increase of bootlegging, causing the drop in state revenue, as well as worsening of somatic and psychological health of the people.

Abstract:
Alcoholism is a pervasive phenomenon. Many wives around the world have endured decades of suffering from husbands who abuse their wives and children when they get home drunk. Remarkably, the majority of women stay away from expressing their disapproval and instead timidly adapt to their husbands' behaviors. The present investigation is part of the attempt to understand the factors influencing mental health of women in Kerala. The study was conducted in two phases. In the first phase a quantitative survey among 300 women to assess the mental health status of women was conducted. Fifty women, 25 each with the highest and lowest mental health scores in the survey were selected for the second phase of the study. The factors influencing mental health of women were explored using in depth unstructured interviews with the 50 women followed by thematic analysis. This study clearly demonstrates how alcohol consumption by husbands has an impact on women, their kids, and families as a whole. Women who live with alcoholic husbands have heavy mental stress and they face several forms of economic, emotional, sexual and physical violence in their day to day lives.

Abstract:
Alcoholism is a major problem in India, and there is a large body of literature in India and the West devoted to understanding the marital dynamics involved in drinking and determining the negative effects that alcoholism can have on a spouse's personality and function. Alcoholism is a condition that develops over time and is frequently fatal. It is not a symptom of another sickness or emotional issue, but rather a distinct ailment. A person's size, weight, age, and sex, as well as the amount of food and alcohol ingested, all influence the effects of alcohol use. Even at low doses, alcohol can impair judgement and coordination dramatically. Alcohol in small to moderate dosages can potentially raise the risk of cancer. Low to moderate amounts of alcohol can enhance the likelihood of a number of aggressive behaviours, such as domestic violence and child abuse. Alcohol has a negative impact on not just an individual's physical health, but also on the people around him. Alcoholism is linked to a shattered family role, a breakdown in family communication, as well as physical and mental disorders. Methodology of Study: The current study used a descriptive research design and probability sampling as the sampling method. To obtain data from parents for this study, the researcher used a basic random sampling lottery procedure. An interview schedule was used to acquire a sample size of 60 people.

Introduction. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and alcohol disease submit a serious health- care problem due to their wide distribution and medical and social burden. Aim. The aim of the study was to reveal the impact of alcoholism on the level of COPD subjective symptoms in patients with different compliance. Material and methods. 147 men with COPD in the age of 40 – 88 years were examined. Spirometry criteria, mMRC, CAT, domestic questionnaire of adherence to therapy, 6-minutes walking tests were performed. The stage of alcohol disease was es- tablished. Results and discussion. We observed the trend to subjective COPD symptoms underestimation in patients with the II, III stages of alcohol disease. Alcohol disease performed no impact on subjective symptoms in patients with stages III, IV of COPD. The compliance level and subjective symptoms severity showed no interrelation in patients suffering from alcoholism. This emphasized the absent association between the high level of compliance and critical self-state perception in patients with concomitant diseases. Conclusion. The poor informativity of mMRC dyspnea scale and CAT-test was demonstrated in patients with mild and moderate COPD and severe alcoholism. The high level of compliance showed no impact on this tendency.

he purpose of this article is: to reveal the psychological aspects of some diseases, as a result of alcohol consumption; to describe the peculiarities of physical dependence in a way of alcoholic state; to make a scheme how alcoholism is developed; to describe the characteristic complications of binge drinking, such as white fever, alcoholic delirium; to model the degrees of intoxication; to pro-vide the pilot research and to find out the attitude of youth to alcohol.methods of the research. The following theoretical methods of the research were used to solve the tasks formulated in the article: a categorical method, structural and functional methods, the methods of the analysis, sys-tematization, modeling, generalization. The empirical method is a pilot research. The research was organized in Kyiv, Lviv, and Rivne. While researching the sociodemographic characteristics (age of respondents, their gender) were taken into account.the results of the research. A clear correlation was found: the practice of alcohol consumption was spread according to the age of respondents. Drinks such as beer, wine, vodka, cognac, whiskey, liqueur, moonshine, etc. have ever been consumed by one of three 10yearold respondents (36%), one in two 11 and 12yearolds (49% and 54%), 73% – 13yearolds, 78% – 14yearolds, 85% – among boys and girls who were 15 years old. The share of young people at the age from 16 to 22 who drank alcohol is extremely high, ranging from 93% to 98%. Data on the age of the first case of alcohol consumption are indicative. For example, the largest share of respondents said that they had tasted beer for the first time at the age of 10 – this group is 28%, and at the age of 16 and older – 9% of respondents. The group of people who never drank alcohol is 24%. “The acquaintance” with wine and spirits occurs mainly in adolescents aged 1316 years old and older (in particular, in the group of respondents in the age of 1014 years old, the experience of the first drinking, at least a glass of wine have 43% of respondents). Among all respondents, 31% and 43% of ones, respectively, never drank wine or spirits. Almost half (43%) of the younger group (1014 years old) did not answer the question about the age of the first beer. Another 75% of respondents of the same age ignored the question about the first use of spirits. Such a distribution may indicate a tendency of children and adolescents to secrecy, their bias against the confidentiality of individual answers to questionnaires.conclusions. Chronic alcoholism or alcohol addiction is a disease in which a person develops an incredible craving for alcohol, symptoms of asthenia and abstinence and other alcoholic disorders. The alcoholic is very depressed, he/she is insecure, sometimes repents, scared. The character deteriorates sharply, sleep is short and superficial, he/she sees terrible dreams. At the same time, the body’s resistance to alcohol poisoning increases. At the stage of domestic drunkenness the usual doses of alcoholism are no longer enough. Another sign of alcoholism is weakening of protective reflexes, such as vomiting, nausea, salivation. Hal-lucinations, acute psychosis and memory loss are observed with large doses of alcohol. There is an unstable motive for the person’s behavior, the patient per-forms acts that are not the main characteristics of him/her before. In the past, a sincere, merciful, a kind man becomes indifferent, immoral, angry. The alcoholic lacks focus. He/she never brings the case to the end.

Based on the results of the SWOT-analysis, the prospects and strategy for the development of a homeopathic medicinal product based on ipecacuanha are substantiated. It was found that there is only one domestic complex drug on the pharmaceutical market. It is shown that reduction of the cost and improvement of the quality of the starting material is possible with the use of biotechnological methods. Ultrasonic filtration is proposed to obtain the matrix tincture. It has been established that a homeopathic remedy with ipecacuanha can be a means of additional therapy at the stage of detoxification and the formation of patient's alcohol aversion. The necessity of additional research and improvement of quality control methods is proved.

Abstract:
Poverty, when manifested against the background of additional potentiating factors, such as a low level of education, the presence of addictions such as alcoholism, smoking, drug use, etc., is one of the most often incriminated factors responsible for the emergence and proliferation domestic violence. The inability to satisfy certain material needs determines the frustration of the individual, frustration that generates, in turn, some violent, conflictual impulses, which disturb the balance of family life. Violent behavior generates extremely serious social problems, affecting all age groups, social status and various spheres of social life. The COVID-19 pandemic, which created the conditions for an intensification of family life by organizing work from home or increasing unemployment, has led to an increase in the phenomenon of domestic violence and especially violence against women.

Alcoholism is defined as chronic dependence characterized by compulsive drinking of alcohol to such a degree that produces mental disturbances and interferes with social and economic functioning.A large proportion of unwanted sexual advances are mediated by alcohol. There is risk of accidental injury, violence and acute alcohol-poisoning. Alcohol and domestic violence are linked to spouse/partner and family structures. It is well established that alcohol-dependent people and heavy drinkers have more sick-leave days than other employees. Many studies have shown that unemployment and heavy drinking tend to go together.Parental heavy drinking increases the risk of poor school performance and school drop-out among their children. In some cases, a mother’s heavy drinking during pregnancy leads to attention deficits and behavioural problems in the child.Numerous research reports attest to the significant impact of drinking on accidents, suicide and violence. alcohol plays a major role in crime, especially in crimes of violence.Alcohol is estimated to cause about 20-30% worldwide diseases of oesophageal cancer, liver cancer, cirrhosis, homicide, epilepsy, and motor vehicle accidents. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a significant public health problem due to its widespread prevalence. It becomes a medical and social burden for both society and the patient. To what extent comorbid alcoholism is able to influence the features of the clinical course of COPD remains an open issue. The study aimed to reveal the impact of alcoholism on the level of COPD subjective symptoms in patients with different compliance. Materials and methods. 147 men with COPD in the age of 40―88 years were examined. The study relied on spirometry criteria, mMRC, CAT, domestic questionnaire of adherence to therapy, 6-minutes walking tests. It also established the stage of alcohol disease. The inhalation therapy was clarified during the interview, the episodic and systemic omissions fixed. Results and discussion. We observed the trend to subjective COPD symptoms underestimation in patients with the II, III stages of alcohol disease. Alcohol disease did not affect subjective symptoms in patients with stages III, IV of COPD. The compliance level and subjective symptoms severity showed no interrelation in patients suffering from alcoholism. This emphasized the absent association between the high level of compliance and critical self-state perception in patients with concomitant diseases. Regardless of the concomitant dependence, systemic omissions were rarely observed in patients receiving inhalers with a lower dosage frequency. Conclusion. The poor informativity of mMRC dyspnea scale and CAT-test was demonstrated in patients with mild and moderate COPD and severe alcoholism. The high level of compliance showed no impact on this tendency. Using single dose per day regimen was associated with a better compliance to recommendations, regardless of alcohol adherence.

IntroductionNeuropsychological disorders in patients with alcoholism intensively studied since the mid-70s of the last century. Research in this area divided into three groups: the study of premorbid neuropsychological features of alcohol dependence; study of neuropsychological disorders of chronic alcohol use; study of the prognostic value of neuropsychological disorders in patients suffering from alcohol dependence. In domestic neuropsychology, is the necessary information about the neuropsychological characteristics of patients suffering from alcohol dependence, neuropsychological manifestations in cognitive processes.Objectivesto identify neuropsychological features of patients suffering from alcohol dependence with a diagnosis of stage 2 alcoholic diseaseMethodsA neuropsychological examination was carried out according to the method of A.R. Luria of 39 patients aged 29 to 68 years with a diagnosis of stage 2 alcoholic disease. The group of patients is divided into 3 subgroups of alcohol abuse: up to 10 years, 10-20 years; more than 20 years.ResultsDisorders of higher mental functions identified in all subgroups. In chronic alcoholic encephalopathy, there is a tendency to increase cognitive deficits. According to the results of the neuropsychological examination, it was found that the greatest disorders in patients of the first subgroup occur in the implementation of successive processes (memory, thinking), arbitrary regulation of activity, and also relate to the regulatory aspects of memory, attention, thinking and speech. In patients of the second subgroup, the most numerous in this sample, violations of visual object gnosis were revealed, as well as a violation of the synthesis of information necessary to endow the image of the object with a certain meaning In patients of the third subgroup, pronounced disorders inherent in the first and second subgroups were found, as well as distortions in the identification of emotions, that is, the inability to compare emotional objects with an emotional standard, which indicates signs affective-cognitive deficit in alcoholic disease of the second stage.ConclusionsIn the study, the dynamics of neuropsychological disorders in patients with alcohol disease of the second stage, depending on the experience of alcohol abuse, foundDisclosure of InterestNone Declared

Abstract:
This article looks at the impact of multilevel governance structures on state-society relations. It contends that rather than focusing on relations between state actors and societal actors, it is more useful to look at shifts between competing advocacy coalitions in a given issue area. It argues that the impact of multilevel governance structures on domestic advocacy coalitions depends on the political opportunity structure provided at the international level, the types of policy outputs international institutions can deliver, and the extent to which members of an advocacy coalition have the organizational capacities to be active at the international level. These factors are explored in two cases of public health policy: anti-smoking policy and alcoholism policy. Moreover, both cases show that multilevel governance structures offer better opportunities for challengers than for defenders of the domestic status quo.

Abstract:
This study was aimed at looking in to women’s experiences of violence in the home in selected woreda’s of Gedeo and West Gujji Zones. Mixed research approach was employed to collect the required data from victims of domestic violence, police officers, and officials and experts in concerned government offices. The quantitative data collected was analysed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21 and thematic analysis method was employed for qualitative data. The result revealed those women’s accounts of abuse is a complex phenomenon because it includes various forms, ranging from humiliation, threats and social isolation to forced sex and battering. Violence against women runs along a range, often escalating from milder forms to more serious acts. The finding indicated that men who are physically abusive are also psychologically, economically and sexually abusive. In this study, Economic dependence, and transgressions of gender role were found to be the main causes of domestic violence. Alcoholism, jealousy and masculinity linked to dominance were also mentioned as factors of violence. Domestic violence has profound consequences on women’s overall well-being. The experience of domestic violence puts women at greater risk of physical, social, mental and health problems. With regard to response to domestic violence, the study shows that some abused women are not passive victims but rather adopt active strategies to maximize their and their children safety. As economic dependence was found to be the prominent cause for domestic violence the researchers suggest the integrated interventions of stakeholders to economic empowerment of women to scale up the capabilities of women in household decision making thereby reducing the likelihood of violence in the home. Furthermore, enforcing the existing legal frameworks related to domestic violence and enacting additional responsive regulations on domestic violence is imperative to protect the victims of domestic violence.

Abstract:
The article deals with the problem of domestic violence, which has its roots since ancient times and is quite common at the present time. The main types and forms of violence (physical, economic, sexual, psychological) are considered. In Russian society, women do not feel protected from the violence of spouses and other close relatives. In modern conditions, various forms of the use of force against women are common: domestic despotism, beatings, rape, sexual harassment. In many societies, family violence between a man and a woman is not perceived as a crime against society, but is a private matter of the family. It is believed that family members resort to physical violence in cases where they have no other opportunity to influence the family’s decision-making due to lack of authority. Psychological concepts have established a special role in the causes of violence of such factors as the weakening of instinctual control, frustration, aggressiveness, alcoholism, psychopathology. Sociological approaches focus on cultural norms that provoke violence, patriarchal social structure.

Abstract:
Studies on adult children of alcoholics (ACoA) are well represented in foreign publications, but the psychological specificity of this group remains controversial. In domestic studies, ACoA receive insufficient attention. Special attention should be paid to the study of self-attitude and self-value of adults raised in alcoholic families. Respondents (N = 170) were divided into subsamples using the CAST test, adapted by A. I. Tascheva and S. V. Gridneva. The ACoA group consisted of 89 respondents (52.4 %, 33 women, mean age 23.44 ± 5.53 years), and the comparison group — 81 respondents (47.6 %, 26 women, mean age 24.75 ± 7.46 years). The Biographical Questionnaire for the Diagnosis of Behavioral Disorders was used to collect data on the family situation. Self-value and self-attitude were assessed using the Scale of Self- Attitude (Pantileev, Stolin), the Basic Beliefs Scale (Padun, Kotelnikova), and K. Neff ’s Self- Compassion questionnaire (adapted by K. A. Chistopolskaya et al.). Maladaptive traits in self- attitude and self-value were identified in adults raised in alcoholic families. More pronounced experiences of family influence during childhood were found in respondents between the ages of 18 and 25. Regression analysis showed that non-judgment of one’s own shortcomings and the perception of difficulties as normal aspects of human existence help ACoA to value themselves despite a dysfunctional childhood. The results are compared with previous studies and may be useful in psychocorrectional work with ACoA. Limitations include an uneven gender ratio, a preponderance of respondents in early adulthood, sampling from social networks, and a lack of detailed sociodemographic data.

The present paper aims at demonstrating Poe’s depiction of domestic violence as a technique to demonstrate his chaotic loss in between his Psychological Struggle and his Egoistic Masculinity. It shows how readers sometimes get lost in search of a judicious cause for the extensive use of violence amongst the chaotic sociopolitical conditions that prevailed that period then. A psychoanalytical perspective was provided to unveil some of the hidden and unsaid facts within some of the gothic literary scenes that were analyzed and examined in light of the narrator’s internal struggle between his traumatic psychology and egoistic masculinity. Among others, the present researchers have found that there are intrinsic and extrinsic factors that genuinely contributed to the increasing scenes of persistent violence committed by the unnamed narrator, but not limited for alcoholism and the unbalanced psychological disorder as the narrator wished to display.

ABSTRACT Background This study had a two objectives to determine the prevalence of domestic violence and to know the impact of the same on the oral health. Materials and methods An observational cross-sectional study was done in Jodhpur, Rajasthan; among 150 married women of 18 to 60 years of age using a predesigned pretested proforma from 18th January 2014 to 27th February 2014. Pretested semistructured open-ended questionnaire used for collecting the data from the study subjects. Pearson's Chisquare test and p-value were used to calculated the occurrence and impact of domestic violence on oral health among women. Results The most common form of domestic violence found was physical abuse (54.7%) followed by emotional abuse (20.0%) and financial abuse (14.0%). The most important risk factor was alcoholism followed by literacy status and having a girl child. Study shows that physical abuse is more in graduate than lower level of educational females. Females living in urban area show highest frequency of physical abuse than those living in rural area. Abstract:
<strong>Background:</strong>&nbsp;Alcohol addiction is known to negatively influence the lives of families. The mental health of wives of alcohol dependent men (WADM) is often neglected, though they are expected to participate in the deaddiction process. This study aims to investigate the psychological morbidity of wives of those with alcohol dependence, and its social correlates in Indian context.&nbsp;<strong>Methods</strong>: The study, conducted in a tertiary centre, followed cross-sectional design with consecutive recruitment of wives of newly registered adult outpatients with alcohol dependence syndrome. A semi-structured questionnaire was used to collect relevant data. The psychiatric morbidity among WADM was assessed using Clinical Interview Schedule &ndash; Revised (CIS-R). Domestic violence was assessed using Hurt-Insult-Threat-Scream (HITS) tool. Data was analyzed using SPSS, version 21.0.&nbsp;<strong>Results:</strong>&nbsp;Hundred participants were recruited with mean age 32.6 years (SD: 6.8). Majority belonged to nuclear families (76%), and low socioeconomic status (81%). Seventy-five percent expressed poor family support. Seventy-three percent of WADM were identified to have psychiatric morbidity. Among the participants, 16% had past suicide attempts. Nearly all (99%) had experienced aggression from their husbands. Among WADM, partner violence and perceived lack of support had statistically significant association with common mental disorders.&nbsp;<strong>Conclusion:</strong>&nbsp;Psychiatric morbidity and partner violence were highly prevalent among WADM. Partner violence was the most significant social factor associated with psychiatric morbidity. There is a need to identify and address early the mental health needs of WADM. &nbsp; &nbsp;

Abstract:
For many years, domestic violence has been stereotyped as violence against women and girls, with men as perpetrators. However, in recent times, men have also become victims. Domestic violence is a violation of human rights and should not be condoned. Nyeri County has experienced tremendous development and, therefore, changes in terms of education, occupation, and economic activities, making it one of the richest counties in Kenya. With these changes in society, there is a high level of education, strong cultural adjustments, and economic endowment, and the expectation is that there should be harmony in the homes. On the contrary, as researchers and the media have documented, there is a lot of domestic violence. Therefore, this study is intended to answer the question "why" by interrogating the influence of socio-cultural dynamics on this domestic violence. This paper presents a discussion of the results of the objective, which was to investigate the nexus between socio-cultural dynamics and domestic violence in Nyeri County. The study used descriptive and evaluative research designs. The following respondents were sampled to participate in the study: 384 household heads, 12 assistant chiefs, 15 police officers, 30 religious leaders, 12 NGOs/CBOs, 3 sub-county administrators, and 20 village elders. The primary methods of data collection were interviews, focus group discussions, and observation. Qualitative data was analyzed using thematic narrations, and findings were presented using narrations and descriptions. The study show that the main socio-cultural factors that influence domestic violence are chauvinism, gender role exchange, alcoholism, and the MAU impact. The study recommends that there should be sensitization in the study area to help people utilize the positive changes in society, such as high education levels, to make a harmonious society instead of using it to fight among spouses.

Abstract:
Problems related to alcohol abuse have been associated to different factors, regardless of the causes attributed to this phenomenon. Alcohol consumption and dependence is considered a public health problem and deserve attention because of the social, work, family, physical, legal and violence-related risks it represents. This study aimed to identify the effects of alcoholism on family relations and, by means of case management, to encourage the recovery of these relationships. The results show that the problems caused by alcohol abuse impose profound suffering to family members, which contributes to high levels of interpersonal conflict, domestic violence, parental inadequacy, child abuse and negligence, financial and legal difficulties, in addition to clinical problems associated to it.

Abstract:
Many Nigerian women experience various forms of domestic violence, most of which was carried out by their spouses. This abuse occurs across all socioeconomic groups and strata. Women&amp;apos;s human rights are violated when they are subjected to violence. This study analysed the socioeconomic determinants of domestic violence against women in Nigeria with empirical evidence from secondary data which were sourced from the National Demographic Health Survey (NDHS) 2018. The cleaned data comprised 6,603 ever-partnered women aged 15-49 years. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, and binary logistic regression. Results show that high proportion (35%) of women in Nigeria have ever experienced domestic violence which is higher than the 30% globally acceptable level of violence. Emotional abuse is the most prevalent in Nigeria as it was experienced by about one-third (33.64%) of the respondents. At p&amp;lt;0.01, having higher education, religion (Islam), being in the rich and richest wealth quintile, and being in the North West, South East and South West zones were significantly and negatively related to (reduced) domestic violence in Nigeria. Also, at p&amp;lt;0.05, having urban residence reduced the likelihood of domestic violence. However, being employed (p&amp;lt;0.05), and at p&amp;lt;0.01, partners’ alcoholism, women having history of violence, husband/partner’s jealousy, household head being male, as well as being in the North East zone were significant and positively related to (increased) domestic violence. In conclusion, domestic violence, especially emotional violence, is prevalent in Nigeria. Thus, human rights activists and NGOs fighting violence against women in Nigeria should intensify their efforts to eliminate domestic violence. Also, gender awareness programmes should be incorporated in school curriculum from primary to higher education levels so that children will be sensitized on the implications of violence, especially against women, and this would bring about reduced level of violence in the future.

Abstract:
The Vietnamese government has set the task of creating a prosperous people and a strong, democratic society, a just and civilized country. This task cannot be achieved without a sound domestic policy that includes the fight against anti-social phenomena such as domestic drunkenness, chronic alcoholism, and drug addiction as an essential component, which create the ground for criminogenic behavior. The Objective of the study is to study the basic acts of Vietnamese legislation on the regulation of the prevention of deviant behavior among alcoholics and drug addicts and the resocialization of persons who committed crimes and are in prison, as well as those released from them. The general methodological basis is represented by the dialectical method, which allowed studying the research object in development to establish the corresponding cause-and-effect relationships. The authors used general scientific methods, including analysis and synthesis, induction, and deduction methods, to obtain reliable and scientifically significant results. Attention is drawn to the specific methods of resocialization combined with methadone treatment for drug addicts in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the conditions and regime of such treatment, and specific individuals’ responsibilities. In the twenty-first century, there are gradual changes in the worldview of the political leadership and the legal practice of Vietnam concerning people with addictions that can be treated and corrected. This has led to the adoption of evidence-based resocialization methods, particularly the use of methadone substitution therapy for drug addicts. Russian scientists are actively engaged in the problem of resocialization in the context of Russian criminal law issues. This article is the first to raise the issue of the Vietnamese approach, information about which is taken from sources in the Vietnamese language.

Slovenia, with an area of 20 000 km2 and a population of 2 million, is one of the smallest members of the European Union. It gained its independence from Yugoslavia in 1991. The country has a gross domestic product (GDP) of US$27 300 per capita. (Largely because of its historical links with Western Europe, Slovenia has a higher GPD compared with other countries in transition in Central Europe.) The health budget represents 8.4% of GDP. Slovenia has a low birth rate and an ageing population. It is divided into 210 municipalities; however, the re organisation of government into several separate regions with more administrative and economic autonomy is in progress. The prevalence of mental illness is comparable to that in other European countries, although there are high levels of alcoholism and suicide.

Abstract:
Illicit or non-normative sentimental relationships appear repeatedly in many of the short stories that comprise James Joyce’s Dubliners (1914). This type of emotional link did not have any room in end-of-century Catholic Ireland, and any unorthodox relationship was regarded or punished as sinful and socially unacceptable, following the strict morality of the times. In this article, I intend to analyse some of the most significant stories in Dubliners, in order to dissect the ways in which late nineteenth-century Dublin’s double standards punished any subject steering away from established social norms concerning marriage and acceptable relationships, either by forcing the reclusion of the subjects to the domestic/private sphere or by imposing a normative marriage on them, or even by pushing them to the brink of madness, alcoholism, or suicide.

Abstract:
The understanding of alcoholism as a medical and social problem dates back to the 19th century, both in Europe and in North America. Modern states have begun to sanction this phenomenon through social institutions, with the ultimate goal of creating a "better" society. In Serbia, one cannot talk about recognizing alcoholism as a problem in the full sense, as it has in modern European countries. When it comes to the context of the Principality of Serbia in the first decades of the 19th century, the term "excessive drinking" should be used rather than "alcoholism". Alcoholism implies a disease of addiction, as a term that was created later, although it had its predecessors. Since we do not have empirical research on the extent to which alcohol consumption has become an addiction in the Principality of Serbia, we should be cautious. Alcohol consumption was more of a widespread way of everyday life, but we cannot say with certainty to what extent we can talk about excess and to what extent about the frequency of consumption. It can be discussed about the condemnation of drunkenness, both by the state authorities and by compatriots. Prince Miloš did not tolerate drunkards, he did not forgive them for drinking alcohol and mischief, he made fun of them cruelly, which resulted in deaths. Also, the state enacted measures against "vagrants", moving at night without lanterns, staying in bars and taverns after a certain time of day. Night patrols were introduced to monitor idlers, drunkards who gathered in taverns and taverns and were potential miscreants. Thus, inns and taverns became places that represented the sources of criminal activities and immoral behavior. First of all, there were complaints against village priests, teachers and princes who indulged in drunkenness, that is, among the higher and more respectable layers of Serbian society. And ordinary people, men and women, were prone to drunkenness, in the everyday context, which led to domestic violence, which was sanctioned by corporal punishment. Misdemeanors that arose in the context of inns, in the form of fights, confrontations, swearing and similar inappropriate behavior, were punished in the same way. It is a commonplace that, as foreign observers noticed, brandy was cheap and easily available, that it was consumed in large quantities, as medicine, food and pleasure, and complete sobriety was not considered healthy among the people. On the other hand, exaggeration in drunkenness was not approved by the people, as evidenced by the rather rigorous folk customs used to wean drunkards off their addiction. Foreign travel writers emphasized the harmfulness of brandy for the Serbian nation, due to the presence of unhealthy substances in it, which also affected the appearance of Serbian residents. The state and Prince Miloš strove to suppress the increase in the number of inns, so a decrease in their number can be observed in the last years of the first reign of Prince Miloš. It can be said that the Serbian state followed European trends in the suppression of alcoholism through state institutions, although this was probably not part of an organized and planned long-term state policy, but rather a reflection of the understanding of Prince Miloš and the Serbian authorities that there are pressing problems in the Serbian state, whose further encouragement it was not in the state's interest. Certainly, the culture of consuming alcoholic beverages has remained dominant in Serbia until today, distinguishing the contexts that people introduce themselves. Thus, brandy was used for medicinal purposes, since there was a belief, partly scientifically based, in the beneficial effects of brandy on human health, which are mostly short-lived. As a food, brandy was considered to strengthen before greater physical efforts, as a source of strength and energy. Of course, brandy was a pleasure, associated with the socializing of men and the rituals related to the daily visit to a tavern or inn, as a place of drinking, but also of social life, where public and political discussions were held and public opinion was formed.

Abstract:
The problem of domestic violence remains an urgent problem for all countries of the world, Ukraine is no exception. Unfortunately, the political and economic processes that take place in the 21st century in our state negatively affect the family and its derivative institutions. This includes an increase in the number of families who find themselves below the poverty line, regular fights and quarrels that create conflicts in the family, the spread of alcoholism, drug addiction and prostitution, a decrease in the role and influence of the state, and a change in social standards for itself Institute of the family. Among the main signs of domestic violence is the intentionality of committing and causing physical, psychological, economic harm and the like. In addition, there are reasons that prevent the victim of violence from leaving the offender, among which are: the lack of alternatives to another residence; property and financial dependence; desire to save a family; acquired helplessness syndrome; unwillingness to stop destructive marriage and more. Domestic violence is the result of deliberate actions of the person who commits it and which is supported by aggression and the desire to do harm, and not by the desire to unleash the domestic conflict through reconciliation. In 2017, the VerkhovnaRada of Ukraine adopted the new Law of Ukraine “On the Prevention and Counteraction of Domestic Violence” normatively enshrined the definition of domestic violence, according to which act (action or inaction) of physical, sexual, psychological or economic violence that occurs in the family or within the place of residence or between relatives, or between former or current spouses, or between other persons who together live (lived) the same family, but are not (were not) in the family wearing or married to each other, regardless of whether the person who committed domestic violence lives in the same place as the injured person, as well as the threat of such acts. The article notes that the latest in the country’s legislation is sexual violence. Legislative innovations, in particular, reinforce an updated approach to crimes against sexual freedom and integrity: the concept of “voluntary consent” and the fact of “penetration” are introduced – the distinction between rape and other forms of sexual violence. The law provides for consent to intimacy even from a man or wife. It is proved that violence, of course, under any conditions, is a crime. And therefore, the lack of a clear definition in the law causes incorrect qualifications and, accordingly, inappropriate responses of state bodies to criminal acts.
