The main aim of the present study is to examine the perceived consequences of a work-related promotion for the female partner in a heterosexual relationship. The 1996 National Household Survey of Drug Abuse, based upon a random sample of 12,381 adults aged 18 to 59 years, estimated that 828,900 men and 828,678 women engaged in homosexuality in the prior 12 months.
