Lip print is useful in forensic investigations for individual identification. The present study aimed to discriminate sex based on lip print patterns in Malaysian Malay population in Klang Valley using a scanning technique. Lip prints of 360 subjects (180 males and 180 females) were taken using the lipstick-cellophane tape technique, pasted onto A4 papers. These papers were then scanned using Brother DCP-J100 printer (300dpi resolution). The images were analysed using a software based on Suzuki and Tsuchihashi’s classification. Abstract:
Musculoskeletal conditions are a major health concern in United States because of a large aging population and increased occurrence of sport-related injuries. The need for bone substitutes is especially important. Traditional treatments of bone-defect have many limitations. Bone tissue engineering may offer a less painful alternative to traditional bone grafts with lower risk of infection. This research integrates biomimetic modeling, solid freedom fabrication (SFF), systems and control, and tissue engineering in one intelligent system for structured, highly porous biomaterials, which will be

Introduction: In recent decades, the Internet has assumed a dominant role in the media industry, replacing traditional media. First, the development of digital technologieshad negative consequences for print media, which significantly changed the media industry. From the late 20th to the early 21st century, the accelerated development of the digital technologies was directly reflected in the media communication methods. Traditional media (press, radio, television), which enabled one-way communication with the audience, were gradually replaced by new, digital media that enabled two-way interact

The particle method is a useful approach to simulate fluid flows within micro/nano spaces such as micro-electromechanical systems, nano-in-print processes, and head-disk interfaces of hard disk drives. Particle methods are based on continuum dynamics, and some studies have recently extended the scope of these methods to approaches within micro/nano spaces. Surface tension is a dominant force in the fluid flow within micro/nano spaces. However, surface-tension models used in the particle methods need to be improved to achieve more stable and accurate simulation. In the present study, we develop

Laser-Doppler velocimetry (LDV) measurements supplemented by numerical simulation and flow visualization were performed to study flow characteristics and explain the reported heat transfer features in a rectangular channel with two opposite walls roughened by deepened scales. The study is lacking in the published literature. Ratios of scale print diameter to channel height, scale maximum depth to channel height and scale pitch to scale maximum depth were 1.0, −0.1, and 10 respectively. The scale-roughened section had a cross-sectional width to height ratio of 8. All measurements were undertake

Abstract Several tests were conducted on 316 stainless steel, and 17-4 PH stainless steel to understand the effect of additive manufacturing on their mechanical properties in general. The samples were produced via a custom-built laser wire metal deposition, with variable laser power of 3600W for 316 stainless, and 4000W for 17-4 PH, but all other printing parameters were kept same. Four different tests, Tensile, Rockwell hardness, Charpy impact, and optical microscopy were carried out to establish the material properties and surface characterization. Through our assessment, it was found that t

Abstract This study will focus on the drop durability of printed conductive traces that are ubiquitous in Printed Hybrid Electronics (PHEs). There are several methods, such as syringe extrusion printing, inkjet printing, and aerosol jet printing (AJP) to print conductive traces. Silver is a popular material for printing conductive elements due to its low sintering temperature and low susceptibility to oxidation and is the material of study in this paper. Silver conductive elements are usually printed using either AJP or extrusion printing, and these methods will be used in this study. In this
