Humans have evolved an intricate system that maintains blood in a fluid state. This relies on an intact vascular endothelium modulating vascular tone and forming a barrier between blood components and reactive subendothelial components. It also involves the production of inhibitors of both blood coagulation and platelet aggregation. In addition, haemostatic systems are primed to convert blood from its fluid state to a solid state, to allow the formation of a haemostatic plug, following vessel injury, to stem the flow of blood from or within a blood vessel. Abstract:
The project aims to develop a mobile application to increase device donation within a community and evaluate its effectiveness in increasing donation and user satisfaction [1]. The background of the problem is presented along with the hypothesis that the mobile application will increase donation by making it more convenient and increasing awareness of the need for donation [2]. The proposed solution involves conducting two studies: one to measure the number of devices donated by participants who have access to the mobile application and one to measure the satisfaction level of users who donate

Abstract:
We have previously shown that donation of blood into anticoagulants containing half the normal amount of citrate results in a dramatic improvement in the stability of coagulation factor VIII and has no adverse effect on the in vitro qualities of red cells or platelets during storage. To confirm the viability of stored cellular components we are now performing autologous survival studies in healthy volunteers using radiolabelled cells from red cells and platelets stored for 35 and 5 days respectively. Results to date indicate a 24 hour survival of 80% for red cells stored at a haematocrit of 0.

Abstract:
Research objectives were: 1) To study the effect of diet energy density, level of exercise, thermal conditions and reproductive state on cardiovascular function as it relates to oxygen (O2) mobilization. 2) To validate the use of heart rate (HR) to predict energy expenditure (EE) of ruminants, by measuring and calculating the energy balance components at different productive and reproductive states. 3) To validate the use of HR to identify changes in the metabolizable energy (ME) and ME intake (MEI) of grazing ruminants. Background: The development of an effective method for the measurement of
