Abstract:
The thesis follows up the competitiveness and tools necessary to achieve and maintain the competitiveness of an organization. This topic is currently rather crucial daily reality in the current market, and virtually all organizations were placed in the endless process of efforts for the development and subsequent maintenance of competitive advantages in order to be able to withstand the onslaught of competing companies in a particular market segment, the ongoing changes in the external environment and produce much needed profit, ensuring their continued existence. The aim is to identify ongoing processes in the selected organization, proposing critical success factors and determining the associated priority indicators affecting the competitiveness of the organization. For processing the theoretical part, an analysis of secondary sources was used, consisting of tightly-related publications, technical articles and Internet resources. The practical part of the work was based on an analysis of primary sources, on the qualitative research on the organization Gunnex s. r. o. The original intention to focus attention on the ongoing processes and critical success factors in the selected organization has proved to be beneficial not only for the purposes of this study, but also the organization itself . In collaboration with its leadership, three points were suggested aiming to improve the current position of the organization in an ongoing competition.

Abstract:
The EU Water Framework Directive (Directive 2000/60 EC) provides numerous requirements, including achievement of good status of all water bodies by 2015. However, meeting this environmental target brings substantial costs. In justified cases, member states may request an extension of the deadline based on disproportionality of costs of meeting the WFD requirements. Definition of disproportionate costs must be based on economic analysis and on the WFD general requirements. This thesis provides a review of proportionate costs in the context of the WFD, identifies main requirements for its practical definition as an exemption and provides a review of foreign methodical approaches to define cost proportionality. It is clear that the Cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) and the Cost-benefit analysis (CBA) are most commonly used methods to determine the cost proportionality treshold. This thesis discuss the relevance of these methods to define cost proportionality to reach good status of water bodies. The thesis also provides methodology to assess cost proportionality based on modified CBA and analyses ecosystem services of water bodies. In addition, the thesis points out the methodological complications and uncertainties of suggested methodology. Main methodological issues are connected with definition of right scale of analysis and synergy effects of measures, analysis of costs and definition of suitable measures and analysis of benefits and quantification of ecosystem services of water bodies.

Abstract:
The subject of my thesis is the optimization of selected business processes in the specific company. These are processes, which optimization will lead to save time, money and will generate additional income and increase the current level of profit significantly. In my thesis, I proposed several indicators of metrics and describe new information systems that will be part of optimized processes. In the first part I present the theoretical aspects and the transition from functional to process management, modeling based on different methodologies, standards and measuring the performance of individual processes. In the next chapter I am dealing with the practical application of theoretical knowledge on a specific company. First I briefly introduce this company, define its position in the market, and going through complex of strategic analysis. Next I give solution how to find out the problematic aspects of the most critical processes and then I suggest optimization. An important part of this thesis are suggested metrics and indicators for these metrics, which are monitored and evaluate targets of each individual process and thus his successful implementation. After incorporating the proposed optimization, the company has significantly shifted not only in monitored metrics, but will also increase its value. These ideas I will summarize in the end of the work.

Education is a tool towards upwards social mobility, and it is therefore essential to ensure equal access to it for all groups in society irrespective of their social standing or state of health. One of the many social groups faced with the risk of worsened access to higher levels of education in particular are the disabled, who, at various phases of their educational careers, face restrictions and barriers that substantially impede the achievement of higher levels of education. The central theme of the dissertation is the accessibility of university education for the disabled, that is, their chances of fully integrating into academic life and the university environment and successfully complete their studies there. The theoretical part of the thesis creates a broader informational framework for the chosen theme, presents varying concepts of key thematic constructs and places them within the relevant thematic framework - the sociology of education. The theoretical section also deals with the theory of educational inequalities and individual phases of the education process for the disabled. Název práce: Informovanost matek o motorickém vývoji dítěte do období dosažení bipedální lokomoce Mothers' awareness ofchild motoric development until bipeadal period is achieved Cíle práce: 1. 2. Na základě výsledků anketního šetření vypracovat návrh letáku (resp. brožury), jež by informoval o průběhu a principech motorického vývoje dítěte během prvního roku života z pohledu vývojové kineziologie. Metoda: Anketní šetření formou vyplnění nestandardizovaného dotazníku. Anketního šetření se zúčastnilo 253 matek, jež popisovaly své zkušenosti s 324 dětmi. Výsledky: Bylo zjištěno časté nerespektování dynamiky motorického vývoje dítěte. Výsledky ankety ukázaly, že dochází ke snaze urychlovat vývoj dítěte (posazováním dítěte, "voděním" dítěte za ruce...) na úkor kvality dosažených dovedností (sedu, chůze...). Odpovědi matek nekorelovaly s všeobecně známými pnnctpy motorického vývoje dítěte, proto byl vytvořen návrh letáku (resp.brožury), jehož případné plošné rozšíření by mohlo přispět k zlepšení...

ČERNÁ, Kristýna. "Optimalizace měření HPGe detektorem s velmi nízkým pozadím pro dosažení nízkých hodnot MDA." Master's thesis, 2008. http://www.nusl.cz/ntk/nusl-49427.

Full text
Abstract:
Abstract My thesis examines the measurement optimalization when the semiconductor HPGe detectors with a low background and a high relative efficiency are used for achieving low values of MDA (minimum detectable activity). I conducted my research in the Department of Spectrometry of SÚRO (National Radiation Protection Institute) in Prague. In this laboratory the standard geometries of detectors with lower efficiency are used. The aim of this thesis is to offer a proposal of new geometry, sizes and shapes of measurement cells which will better correspond with the demand for higher efficiency of updated detectors. The assignment was to find the best mathematical function to descibe the correlation between efficiency and the direction of the radiation point source towards the detector. This function is derived from experimentally obtained data. To conduct measurements, three kinds of detectors with high relative efficiency used for activity measurements at different geometries were selected. As the source of gamma radiation, the point sources with energies of 46 keV, 661 keV, 1332 keV in different distances and positions were used. The function was applied separatelly to each of the three detectors and to the areas above the detector and sidewards of the detector. The objective of the research was to project new measurement geometries or to optimalize the current ones which could be used also in other detectors with high efficiency. After integrating the function in the cylindrical area above the detector and the annular area sidewards of the detector, areas contributing substantially to the overall efficiency were determined. These areas may be considered to be the optimal sizes for new geometries in given positions. After combining all the optimal areas above the detector, sidewards of the detector and for selected energies and the detector, optimal sizes of a new geometry were found. The function can be used both in the front part and the side part of the detector but its validity is limited. The value of MDA for the particular geometry is in indirect proportion to the efficiency square root and thus this new geometry should lead to minimum values of MDA.

In Milada Paulová (1891-1970) - The story of the first female docent in Czechoslovakia in 1925 I have tried to present among Czech thinkers a relatively unknown female university professor and scholar whose interests were the Byzantine Empire and the recent history of South Eastern Europe. This study focuses on Milada Paulova's long and difficult academic path. Milada Paulova was born in 1891 in the North Bohemian village of Loukov. Her father, František Paul, was an officer and later became the director of a sugarcane factory in Darenice. After its unfortunate bankruptcy and his subsequent nervous breakdown the family moved to Prague where Milada Paulova finished her primary school studies. She was raised by father because her mother died when she was three years old. In Prague she finished her high school studies at the teachers' school for girls. As the final exam wasn't recognized for entering university she, along with Albína Dratvová, who also later became docent, studied at home for the final exam at grammar school. Both of them passed this exam at Prague grammar school (Akademické gymnázium).

The purpose of this research is to identify how bridging the online gender divide can accelerate the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. At present 200 million fewer women are online than their male counterparts, highlighting the gender inequality that exists online. The disparity in the number of women online is having a detrimental effect on the ability to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations target date of 2030. The research first endeavours to understand the current discourse of what is understood by the term "digital gender divide" within contemporary literature. Drawing knowledge from existing literature, the reasons for the digital gender divide are critically assessed and conceptualised within an empirical framework before offering an insight into how such barriers can be addressed and overcome. The removal of such obstacles therefore paves the way for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to flourish. The evidence collated throughout the study details the intricate connection between sustainable development and gender equality, concluding that considerable advancements towards sustainable development can be made if more women are online.

Nowadays, the theory of proxy warfare receives more and more attention. However, it is not an entirely new phenomenon. Recent conflicts in Syria and Yemen got proxy warfare to the forefront of academic and public interest. This thesis aims to describe the existing proxy relationships in the area of the Middle East and analyze those relations from the perspectives of an actor's motivation to forge such a relationship and management of the proxy. The principal-agent (p-a) analysis is the approach that allows us to do that. We apply this approach to three case studies. In the first case study, we analyze the principal-agent relationship between Iran and Hezbollah. In this relationship, we can observe a high alignment of interests, and therefore it should be a textbook example of the p-a relationship. In the second case study, we focus on the relationship between Israel and Hamas. However, it may seem like there is no possibility these two actors will cooperate in any sense. We described that if "declared interests" (ideology) are put aside, both principal and agent can find a common pragmatic interest enabling them to establish the p-a relationship. The third case study analyzes Hamas as a hybrid actor, suggesting that one agent (Hamas) can be in the principal- agent relationship with two hostile...

6 Abstract The rehabilitation of patients with brain damage is an interprofessional, complex, intensive, long-lasting and individually oriented process. One frequent consequence of brain damage is hemiparesis, which also causes a disorder of the upper extremity movement pattern. The movement ability of the upper extremity is essential for an individual's self-sufficiency, the performance of common daily activities, and thus for an independent life in a family setting. Special therapeutic rehabilitation approaches should involve the training of new activities, including the motor learning mechanism that activates brain plasticity. A functional reorganization of the motor cortex occurs along with the activation of reserve neurons and the replacement of damaged synapses. One of the aims of this work was to demonstrate, using objective function methods, the possibility of influencing the movement patterns of a paretic upper extremity by means of intensive interprofessional rehabilitation even several years after the brain damage. The second aim was to demonstrate that the monitoring of motor functions in patients after brain damage leads to improved motivation, thereby improving motor functions. A study was conducted among 55 selected patients after brain damage with central hemiparesis who participated in the...

Abstract:
The aim of this study is to summarize a research on cognitive functions and depressive disorder with focus on the remission period and to map, on this background, using a longitudinal design, changes in cognitive performance of the depressive patients during the course of mood improvement until the remission period. We set together a test battery consisting of two cognitive functions measures (AVLT, Letter-number sequencing), two mood rating instruments (BDI, MADRS) and two additional questionnaires (Unfavourable-events questionnaire and Social support Survey - MOS). We included an interview, as well. The research took place in Prague psychiatric centre. The sample consisted of 10 inpatients with unipolar depressive disorder according to ICD-10. 4 of the patients were excluded - 2 of them for deeper mood impairment and other 2 for early discharge from the clinic. Only 2 of the remaining 6 patients achieved remission. We present their case studies in this thesis. The conclusion of this study is that the image of cognitive performance in depressed patients can be various. All patients experienced subjective cognitive performance impairment and work ability impairment. We didn't observe, in some of the patients, cognitive performance impairment in the neuropsychological measures used. When cognitive impairment...

Abstract:
Title: Stochastic dynamics and energetics of biomolecular systems Author: Artem Ryabov Department: Department of Macromolecular Physics Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Petr Chvosta, CSc., Department of Macromolecular Physics Abstract: The thesis comprises exactly solvable models from non-equilibrium statistical physics. First, we focus on a single-file diffusion, the diffusion of particles in narrow channel where particles cannot pass each other. After a brief review, we discuss open single-file systems with absorbing boundaries. Emphasis is put on an interplay of absorption process at the boundaries and inter-particle entropic repulsion and how these two aspects affect the dynam- ics of a given tagged particle. A starting point of the discussions is the exact distribution for the particle displacement derived by order-statistics argu- ments. The second part of the thesis is devoted to stochastic thermodynam- ics. In particular, we present an exactly solvable model, which describes a Brownian particle diffusing in a time-dependent anharmonic potential. The potential has a harmonic component with a time-dependent force constant and a time-independent repulsive logarithmic barrier at the origin. For a particular choice of the driving protocol, the exact work characteristic func- tion is obtained. An asymptotic analysis of...

Abstract:
One of the base intention of this research in didactic sphere is to describe and to analyse curriculum in all of its forms. In educational sphere focused on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or on Informatics, this intention is very actual mainly due to recent integration to compulsory part of curriculum at elementary schools and also due to its dynamic development. This PhD thesis follows researches analysing curriculum of other educational spheres and also follows survey devoted to implementation of ICT to educational environment. Second type of research uses mainly quantitative method and relied on declarations of respondents. Compared to this, there was chosen qualitative case study getting data also from analysis of documents or from observing. At first, there are identified terms of curriculum, its phases and ICT literacy which presents one of the main goals of educational environment in the Czech curriculum. Then it is fol-lowed by analysis and summary of results of already realized surveys focused on teaching conditions of ICT and with ICT, together with informatics themes and their relations to individual actors. Last but not least, it is finished by results of students in ICT literacy and informatics thinking. Based on analysis of documents, the empirical part of theses describes models used to definition of educational sphere of ICT and projected curriculum of chosen basic school. Realized curriculum and its changes are deduced from analysis of notes in class-book. Videorecords of some lessons were used to verification of notes and also to analyse used educational methods. Based on its analysis, there were defined also educational goals of these teaching units and reached curriculum. Special practical exercise was used to verify the knowledge and skills of selected knowledge and skills. This thesis describes not only individual phases of ICT curriculum in chosen basic school but also identifies some differences between them. Finally, some of findings are used also as incentives to adjust the projected curriculum at the national level.

Abstract:
Aim: Analysis of the relation between the training load and the race performance of elite world-class triathletes. Evaluation of the effect of other factors on the race performance. Method: A case study of a Czech elite triathlete VF, who trained for several years in three different training environments including two top international groups DS and JF. Results: Training volume of VF was about 28 hours per week in the initial and DS environment and decreased to 23 hours per week in JF environment. The standard periodization scheme was used in none of the training environments. Instead, the annual training cycles had no distinct culminations; training load oscillated in a sequence of microcycles. Specific tempering was not applied prior to competitions, rather the affected microcyclus had been adjusted. Competitive performance of VF expressed as so called ITU equivalent was comparable in the three environments. Long-term performance markedly deteriorated in the DS environment but improved in the environment JF. Discussion: Two reasons are proposed for the deterioration of the long-term performance in the environment DS: (i) long-term major injuries; (ii) a several month long high-altitude stays during competitive seasons, leading to negative mood and motivational changes and other overtraining symptoms. Title: Dependency of market value of a team on the result achieved at the Synot liga Objectives: The aim of this work is to determine the departmente of the market value of the teams which take place in the Czech Top Football league and their achieved results in this competition. Market value of the team is given by a sum of market value of all its players, regardless of their taking part in the match or not. It's put into the kontext with the final result in the league, which is expressed by a total sum of the gauner points. The partial aim is to determine effectiveness of these teams (expressed by total market value of the team) and the total sum of the points achieved in the competition Methods: Regressive and correlative analysis was used for determination of the dependence in the practical part of my research. Regressive analysis was taken from the assumption of free dependence. In this case the aim was to identify the degree of its intensity. So this is the way how the assumption that total market value of the team has certain influence on the achieved result in the league was checked. Results: In the results you can see characteristic and may be big influence of the market value of the team on the achieved result in the league. Title: Dependence of football clubs' market value on their result in selected European competitions Objectives: The main objective is to determine the strength of the relationship between the market value of football clubs and their result in selected European competitions. Another objective is to compare these relationships between individual leagues or groups of leagues (big, medium, small). Methods: Correlation and regression analysis were used for the calculation of the strength of the relationships. Regression analysis showed which of the teams influenced the strength of the relationship with their weaker or stronger performance. Effectivity was also calculated for another option of comparing the teams. Results: As the results show we can observe a certain dependency of the result of the clubs on their market value. In the leagues with weakest relationships (0,562 and 0,565) we can notice a particular influence of uncommon performances by the leaders and underdogs. In other leagues the relationship varies between 0,651 and 0,877, which shows very strong relationship between the market value and achieved result. Effectivity-wise it was observed, that the most effective teams are usually the ones with lower market values and they usually place in the lower half of the table. Whereas the least...

Pre-university Educational System and inequalities in Kosovo Edona Begu Master thesis Abstract The institutional structure of the education system is crucial for understanding the educational inequalities. Kosovo is a young country and its education system is undergoing major reforms. Hence, studies and research in the impact that the educational system arrangement has on inequalities barley exist. The main goal of this thesis was to understand the institutional setting of pre-university education system in Kosovo and its impact in inequalities, especially in terms of labour market outcomes, social status outcomes and educational outcomes. After evaluation of Kosovo's education system along standardization and stratification dimensions introduced by Allmendinger, in the widely known typology for educational inequalities, Kosovo's pre-university education resulted to be highly standardized and highly stratified. Thus, the quality of education provision is uniform for all the students, which is reflected in their similar educational outcomes in PISA test. However, the students are stratified in different tracks, which influence and restrict their future outcomes in labour market and their status in the society. These conclusions were backed up with secondary data analysis which states that there are no...

Abstract:
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of dying and death within the job of a nurse. Nurses very often see dying and death. Death rate also depends on type of the ward. A healthy person usually does not think about death, but being ill one is uncertain and starts to ask many questions, which may also include questions about dying and death. Meeting a dying person is psychically demanding for the medical staff as well as for the family, friends and the dearest. The medical workers are expected to be professional and empathic. It is a question if the nurses are prepared to face the death and if they can cope with the physical and psychical stress. Long-term excessive psychical stress may result in numerous diseases. A nurse must know how to avoid such negative impacts. The theoretic part of the thesis describes the present status, explains specificities of palliative treatment within intensive care, within care for chronically ill patients and in paediatrics, it specifies attitudes and their functions in connection with difficult life situations. Furthermore, the theoretical part deals with psychical stress imposed on nurses in connection with dying and rules of communication in a multi-disciplinary team within palliative care. There are four objectives of the thesis. The first objective is to find out whether nurses feel ready to meet death after finishing qualification studies. Another objective is to find out whether death rate in the workplace affects psychical stress imposed on the nurses and their attitude to death. The third objective is to find out whether the nurses think that the information and experience gained during studies affected their attitude to death and professional skills of care for dying patients. The research part made use of quantitative research. Data collection was made through anonymous questionnaires. Respondents answered 35 questions. Out of that, 17 questions were closed and 18 questions were semi-closed. The research survey was completed with statistical survey. Nurses, who work in wards with higher risk of death, were contacted. We have made up four hypotheses. H1: Nurses? attitude to death depends on the level of education was not confirmed. The results of research and statistic survey showed that there is no difference in attitude in connection with the level of education reached. H2: Nurses? attitude to death depends on experience with death in personal life was not confirmed either. The respondents? answer showed that their attitude to death is mostly influences by experienced acquired in practice. H3: Death rate reduces psychical stress of nurses, was confimed. The respondents said they had still the same feelings and at most they answered that they did not feel anything, or they did not think about their feelings and they consider the death to be a part of their occupation. H4: Subjective readiness of nurses to meet death does not depend on finishing of qualification studies, but it depends on exeprience acquired in practice. The last hypothesis was confirmed by research and statistic survey, as well. The research and tests of hypothesis have revealed that sufficient attention has not been paid to the issue of care for dying patients within studies. Nurses acquire their experience mostly in practice. Furthermore, the survey showed that it is an important thing to teach the nurses to communicate effectively and to feel empathy. The conclusion, that nurses are more stressed with conflicts at the workplace, bad inter-personnel relationships, low wages than with care for dying patients, is alarming . Thus the labour force is wasted unnecessarily and it is obvious that the occupation of a nurse has not been appreciated properly, yet. Such factors influence quality of the work done and may cause the burn-out syndrome.
