Abstract:
This paper presents an evaluation of double-rate Tomlinson-Harashima precoding in multi-valued PAM-N data transmission. In order to eliminate an intersymbol interference of interconnections in VLS system, Tomlinson-Harashima precoding (THP) is very useful for limiting the peak and average power of the transmitter. To expand the eye-opening at a receiver in multi-valued data transmission, we proposed a new equalization technique by using double-rate THP. In this paper, to evaluate the performance of the double-rate THP, we show the simulation results of the double-rate THP in various PAM-N data

In this study, we introduce a stagger-stacked DDR module that comprises one IPD chip (top die) along with four memory chips initially. The steady-state thermal characteristics of this configuration were empirically assessed using a dedicated thermal test vehicle. The purpose of this research is to investigate the module’s junction temperature by adjusting four factors: the thermal conductivity of the molding plastic, chip thickness, chip misalignment length, and the thermal conductivity of the adhesive film. We observed that the junction temperature decreases with an increase in the chip stagg

Nonparametric curve estimation has been suggested as an exploratory means of revealing such patterns. The decision about the type of smoothing parameter is critical for performance in practice. In this paper, we study data-adaptive smoothing. Methods: A decade ago, the nearest-neighbor bandwidth was introduced for censored data in survival analysis. Detailed DATA and Monte Carlo (MC) comparisons were done in order to test reliability of the detector simulation. There is reasonable agreement between DATA and MC. Based on the analysis of De Solla Price, from 1960 till more recent evaluations, an exponential growth rate has led to 2–2.4 million new publications annually. One is the increased number of collaborations between scientists, as well as the case of hyper-collaborations, where some papers list thousands of authors. Several basic models for primary creep are derived. They are based on the creep rate in the secondary stage. This means that primary creep can be derived without any new data. Abstract:
Abstract Alloy 22 (UNS N06022) is the candidate material for the corrosion barrier of the double-wall waste package (WP) for the disposal of high-level nuclear waste at the proposed Yucca Mountain repository. A probabilistic temperature-dependent general corrosion model for the WP outer barrier (WPOB) was developed based on the 5-year weight-loss measurements of Alloy 22 crevice samples. The 5-year corrosion rate distribution is represented by a Weibull distribution, with scale factor s = 8.88, shape factor b = 1.62, and location factor l = 0. Abstract:
Meiotic recombination is a process in which homologous chromosomes engage in the exchange of DNA segments, creating gametes with new genetic makeup and progeny with new traits. The genetic diversity generated in this way is the main engine of crop improvement in sexually reproducing plants. Understanding regulation of this process, particularly the regulation of the rate and location of recombination events, and devising ways of modifying them, was the major motivation of this project. The project was carried out in maize and wheat, two leading crops, in which any advance in the breeder’s tool

Abstract:
This 2001 report contains the preliminary estimates for Trade in the Americas, with a most notable decline of trade flows in the Western Hemisphere. In 2001, trade within the Americas declined by almost 4% according to preliminary estimates. Contrary to previous years, intra-hemispheric exports performed worse than the hemisphere's exports to the rest of the world, which declined by a less drastic 2% relative to 2000. This in stark contrast to a decade-long trend that saw intra-hemispheric trade expand by more than double the rate of extra-hemispheric exports, with total exports growing by a h

Abstract:
This paper uses seven standard market power indicators (price-cost margin, and six drawn upon the production approach) to estimate the effect market power on the rate of change of total factor productivity for a sample of formal manufacturing firms of Peru for the period 2002-2019. After applying exogeneity tests and implementing panel data with fixed effects instrumental variable method, the results are not clear about the causal relationship between market power and firms' TFP. However, when the Double-Debiased machine learning (DML) causal method is applied for fixed effects panel data with

The divorce rate in the U.S. has declined in recent decades. In 1990, 19 people per 1,000 currently married individuals divorced compared to 15 per 1,000 in 2019. The overall trend in the divorce rate masks substantial variation by age. The divorce rate for younger people has been on the decline since the 1990s (Kennedy and Ruggles, 2014) whereas the divorce rate among those 50 and older has more than doubled since 1990 (Brown and Lin, 2012). It is estimated that over one million preventable deaths occur each year caused by diarrhoeal diseases due to unsafe sanitation, hygiene and drinking water. In Sierra Leone, access to sanitation is the 8th lowest in any country worldwide. In rural areas only an estimated 37.9 per cent use an improve sanitation facility and 26 per cent practice open defecation, contributing to multiple health, economic and social challenges. The refined divorce rate in the U.S. has declined over recent decades. In 1990, 19 out of every 1,000 currently married individuals divorced, compared to just 13.7 per 1,000 in 2023. However, this overall downward trend masks substantial variation by age. Background. Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) are increasingly common and have important implications for maternal health, healthcare utilization, and health disparities. There is limited evidence to support best management of postpartum individuals with HDP, including home blood pressure (BP) monitoring (HBPM) and choice of antihypertensive agents. For patients experiencing preeclampsia with severe features, there is robust evidence supporting delivery of the infant and treatment with magnesium sulfate (MgSO4). However, MgSO4 may cause unpleasant side effects and, less commonly, toxic

In this paper, we test whether promoting digital government tools increases the take-up of an important public health prevention service: cervical cancer screening. We implemented an at-scale field experiment in Uruguay, randomly encouraging women to make medical appointments with a digital application or reminding them to do it as usual at their local clinic. Using administrative records, we found that the digital application nearly doubled attendance of a screening appointment compared to reminders and tripled the rate compared to a pure control group (3.2 percentage point increase over a ba
