Abstract:
The article intends to evaluate the efficiency and performance of Ukrainian banking system based on two stages. The first stage, when the number of banks was on average the same during that period, and the second stage, that began in 2015 and when the number of banks began to fall quickly up to 82 institutions in 2018. The study is based on the model of dynamics norm of the banking system efficiency for two periods. The concept of efficiency was used based on the methods of non-parametric statistic to obtain performance estimates. The implementation of a dynamic model, based on the peculiarities of the banking system functioning, allows to obtain a generalized assessment of the economic efficiency of banking activity before and after critical change in the number of bank institutions. The correlation matrix between financial indicators of the banking system activity was created and the dynamic norm for the two periods was calculated. Given the analytical comparison of indicators, more effective period was identified. The general results of the study indicate that the overall efficiency of the banking system started to grow up since 2015.

Full text
Abstract:
Mitochondrial proton leak in rat muscle is responsible for approx. 15% of the standard metabolic rate, so its modulation could be important in regulating metabolic efficiency. We report in the present paper that physiological concentrations of AMP (K0.5 = 80µM) increase the resting respiration rate and double the proton conductance of rat skeletal-muscle mitochondria. This effect is specific for AMP. AMP also doubles proton conductance in skeletal-muscle mitochondria from an ectotherm (the frog Rana temporaria), suggesting that AMP activation is not primarily for thermogenesis. AMP activation in rat muscle mitochondria is unchanged when uncoupling protein-3 is doubled by starvation, indicating that this protein is not involved in the AMP effect. AMP activation is, however, abolished by inhibitors and substrates of the adenine nucleotide translocase (ANT), suggesting that this carrier (possibly the ANT1 isoform) mediates AMP activation. AMP activation of ANT could be important for physiological regulation of metabolic rate.

"Experimental warming reduces fertilizer nitrogen use efficiency in a double rice cropping system." Plant, Soil and Environment 65, No. 10 (November 5, 2019): 483–89. http://dx.doi.org/10.17221/315/2019-pse.

Full text
Abstract:
Climate warming significantly affects nitrogen (N) cycling, while its effects on the use efficiency of fertilizer N are still unclear in agroecosystems. In the present study, we examined for the first time the response of fertilizer N use efficiency to experimental warming using 15N labeling with a free-air temperature increase facility (infrared heaters) in a double rice cropping system. 15N-urea was applied in micro-plots to trace the uptake and loss of fertilizer N. Results showed that moderate warming (i.e. an increase of 1.4°C and 2.1°C in canopy temperature for early and late rice, respectively) did not significantly affect grain yield and biomass. Warming significantly reduced N uptake from fertilizer for both early and late rice, while increased N uptake from soil. The N recovery rate of fertilizer was reduced from 35.5% in the control and to 32.3% in the warming treatments for early rice and from 47.2% to 43.1% for late rice, respectively. Warming did not affect fertilizer N loss rate in the early rice season, whereas significantly increased it from 38.9% in the control and to 42.7% in the warming treatments in the late rice season, respectively. Therefore, we suggest that climate warming may reduce fertilizer N use efficiency and increase N losses to the environment in the rice paddy.

Abstract:
The geothermal water which can be considered for generating electricity with the temperature ranging from 80? to 150? in China because of shortage of electricity and fossil energy. There are four basic types of geothermal power systems: single flash, double flash, binary cycle, and flash-binary system, which can be adapted to geothermal energy utilization in China. The paper discussed the performance indices and applicable conditions of different power system. Based on physical and mathematical models, simulation result shows that, when geofluid temperature ranges from 100? to 130?, the net power output of double flash power is bigger than flash-binary system. When the geothermal resource temperature is between 130? and 150?, the net power output of flash-binary geothermal power system is higher than double flash system by the maximum value 5.5%. However, the sum water steam amount of double flash power system is 2 to 3 times larger than flash-binary power system, which will cause the bigger volume of equipment of power system. Based on the economy and power capacity, it is better to use flash-binary power system when the geofluid temperature is between 100? and 150?.

Abstract:
The accuracy of gear meshing efficiency model is the key to study the influence factors of gear meshing efficiency. Experiment is an effective method to verify the theory model. Therefore, the acquisition of experimental value of gear meshing efficiency is particularly important. Taken double helical gears as the research object, on the analysis of a large number of experimental data, the experimental value of gear meshing efficiency for double helical gears are calculated and then the influence of rotational speed and torque on meshing efficiency of double helical gears is studied. Firstly, the calculation method of transmission efficiency for experimental value in different layout of gear test-rigs with closed power flow is summarized. Secondly, the calculation method of meshing efficiency for experimental value in gear test-rig with closed power flow is introduced. Thirdly, the calculation method of load-dependent bearing loss is given. Finally, the experimental value of meshing efficiency for double helical gears is calculated and the influence of rotational speed and torque on meshing efficiency of double helical gears is obtained, which lays a theoretical foundation for the further improvement of the transmission efficiency of double helical gears.
