Abstract:
It is generally accepted that virus-specific CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) recognize nine-amino acid peptides in conjunction with HLA class I molecules. We recently reported that dengue virus-specific CD8+ CTLs of two different serotype specificities, which were established by stimulation with dengue virus, recognize a single nine-amino acid peptide of the nonstructural protein NS3 of dengue virus type 4 (D4V) in an HLA-B35-restricted fashion. To further analyze the relationships between the serotype specificities of T cells and the amino acid sequence of the recognized peptides, we examined the ability of this viral peptide D4.NS3.500-508 (TPEGIIPTL) to stimulate T lymphocytes of an HLA-B35-positive, dengue virus type 4-immune donor. Peptide stimulation of the PBMC generated dengue virus-specific, HLA-B-35-restricted CD8+ CTL clones. These clones lysed dengue virus-infected autologous cells, as well as autologous target cells pulsed with this peptide. Four patterns of dengue virus serotype specificities were demonstrated on target cells infected with dengue-vaccinia recombinant viruses or pulsed with synthetic peptides corresponding to amino acid sequences of four dengue virus serotypes. Two serotype-specific clones recognized only D4V. Three dengue virus subcomplex-specific clones recognized D1V, D3V, and D4V, and one subcomplex-specific clone recognized D2V and D4V. Three dengue virus serotype-cross-reactive clones recognized D1V-D4V. Thus, a single nine-amino acid peptide induces proliferation of a heterogeneous panel of dengue virus-specific CD8+ CTL clones that are all restricted by HLA-B35 but have a variety of serotype specificities. Peptides that contain a single amino acid substitution at each position of D4.NS3.500-508 were recognized differently by the T cell clones. These results indicate that a single epitope can be recognized by multiple CD8+ CTLs that have a variety of serotype specificities, but the manner of recognition by these multiple CTLs is heterogeneous.

Abstract:
Las vermicompostas incrementan la disponibilidad y asimilación de nutrimentos y sustancias naturales promotoras del crecimiento. Adicionalmente, contribuyen en numerosas respuestas fisiológicas en plantas, tales como aumento de crecimiento y rendimiento. Se realizó una investigación con el objetivo de comparar el efecto de auxinas sintéticas y vermicomposta en el crecimiento y rendimiento de calabacita (Cucurbita pepo L.), cultivada bajo condiciones de invernadero. Se utilizó un diseño de bloques al azar con cinco tratamientos: auxinas sintéticas (Amcotone®) aplicadas al follaje (AUX); vermicomposta (VioHache®) incorporada al suelo en dosis de 5 (DBV), 10 (DMV) y 15 Mg ha-1 (DAV); además de un testigo (TES). Los resultados obtenidos mostraron que tanto las auxinas sintéticas como todas las dosis de vermicomposta promovieron el crecimiento de las plantas. Los rendimientos más altos, 40.5 y 37.9 Mg ha-1, fueron obtenidos con DBV y DMV, respectivamente. La calabacita de tamaño mediano (18.9 a 22.8 cm, 3.9 a 4.4 cm, 101 a 225 g) fue la más producida, con 58.6 a 74.5% del rendimiento total. El rendimiento de calabacita mediana obtenido con auxinas sintéticas o vermicomposta se incrementó desde 26.9 (DMV) hasta 61.1% (DBV), comparado con TES (17.5 Mg ha-1).

Abstract:
Since the use of tricarbonyl compounds (e.g. dichloroisocyanuric acid) as electrode materials for primary lithium batteries dates back to the 1960s, organic molecules have received significant attention as a means to further advance the state-of-the-art electrode materials for rechargeable batteries due to their advantages, including abundance, high energy density, design flexibility, environmentally benign nature, mild synthesis processes, and cost competitiveness. Numerous molecular design strategies have been employed to achieve high performance in organic electrode materials for rechargeable batteries. For examples, the organic molecular structure can be optimized to provide high specific capacity by minimizing the redox-inactive parts, exploiting multiactive centers, or introducing electron activating and deactivating groups. In addition, cycle stability can be controlled by polymerization of the active-molecules and electrical conductivity can be increased by enhancing electron delocalization, inter- (p-d) and intra-molecular (p-p) conjugation in aromatic rings of the organic molecules. Herein, we provide a novel design of organic electrode for high discharge voltage with superior cycling stability in rechargeable battery by using steric effect of substituted the single molecule. 16,17-dihydroxyviolanthrone (DHV) molecule was used as a single molecule model for control group because the violanthrone compound has a planar conformation overlapping sp2 hybridized carbon and its hydroxyl groups that can be substituted with a variety of substituents. The electrochemical performance of DHV cathode and its reversible redox process in rechargeable battery system were demonstrated through experimental and theoretical identification at the first time. To further advance the battery performance of the DHV through the steric hindrance effect, we substituted main functional group (-OH) of DHV nearby p-type redox center with long-chain alkoxy group (-OC8H17 or -OC10H21) leading to ether, which are dioctiloxyviolanthrone (DOV) and didecyloxyviolanthrone (DDV), respectively. In comparison to DHV, DOV and DDV showed significant increase of redox potential of the oxidation reaction allowing battery with around 0.6 V higher operating voltage. We further substantiated the steric hindrance effect from long-chain alkoxy groups on coupling electrolyte anion (PF6 -) with charged DOV and DDV via computational simulation and theoretical studies based on density functional theory (DFT). Moreover, we showed that the bipolar nature of the violanthrones allows its application in symmetrical cells, though the cycling performance was limited by the reduction reaction stability. Additionally, we demonstrated that finding of the more suitable electrolyte could lead to greatly enhanced stability of the violanthrone electrodes allowing up to 2000 cycles without capacity reduction and reduced voltage decay. Finally, based on various analytical methods, we demonstrated that the oxidation occurs through withdrawing of the delocalized electrons from the large conjugated structure of the violanthrones, and that the main the p-type redox site could be determined to be the moiety of (-(ROC)C-C-C-C(COR)-). Thus, this molecular design approach allows development of organic cathode with a high redox potential, comparable to the conventional cathode materials, and potentially may lead to future all-organic symmetric batteries.

Abstract Activation of dengue serotype-cross-reactive memory CTL during secondary dengue virus (DV) infection is thought to be important in the pathogenesis of dengue hemorrhagic fever. To model this effect, we studied the CTL responses to DV types 2 (D2V) and 3 (D3V) in PBMC from an individual previously infected with D3V. DV-specific CD8+ CTL from this donor recognized two HLA-B62-restricted epitopes on the NS3 protein, aa 71–79 (SVKKDLISY) and 235–243 (AMKGLPIRY). Both D3V-specific and D2V/D3V-cross-reactive CTL clones were detected for each epitope; all D2V-reactive CTL clones could lyse D2V-infected autologous cells. CTL responses to both epitopes were detected in bulk cultures stimulated with D3V, but PBMC stimulated with D2V recognized only the 235–243 epitope. IFN-γ enzyme-linked immunospot assay showed that the D2V (71–79) peptide (DVKKDLISY) did not efficiently activate T cells. Analysis of a CTL clone suggests that the D2V (71–79) peptide acts as a partial agonist, able to sensitize target cells for lysis and inducing only minimal proliferation at high concentrations. These results suggest that variant peptide sequences present in the heterologous DV serotype can influence the CTL response in vivo during secondary DV infection.

Though widely spread across the H-R diagram the compact pulsators have much in common. All are multi-periodic, and most have extremely complex light curves. All appear to be pulsating in nonradial g-modes, with temperature variations responsible for the bulk of the light modulations. The g-modes are global in nature and, typically, many are excited in each pulsator, so they are a rich source of seismological information about the interior regions of the white dwarf stars.The pulsating DB white dwarf stars (DBV’s) form one of the three distinct classes of pulsating compact objects currently known. We find these classes nearly uniformly distributed in log Te spanning virtually the whole range of the white dwarf cooling sequence, from the hot DOV stars at log Te ~ 5 to the DAV (ZZ Ceti) stars at log Te ~ 4; the DBV stars, with logTe ~ 4.5, fall in the middle.

Electrochemical behavior of genotoxic 2-aminofluoren-9-one (2-AFN) was investigated by DC tast polarography (DCTP) and differential pulse polarography (DPP), both at a classical dropping mercury electrode (DME), and by DC voltammetry (DCV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), and adsorptive stripping differential pulse voltammetry (AdSDPV), all at a miniaturized hanging mercury drop minielectrode (HMDmE), in buffered aqueous-methanolic solutions. Optimum conditions were found for the determination of 2-AFN by DCTP at DME in the concentration range from 1 × 10–6to 1 × 10–4mol l–1(with a limit of quantification (LQ) of 5 × 10–7mol l–1), by DPP at DME (from 1 × 10–7to 1 × 10–4mol l–1;LQ ≈ 1 × 10–7mol l–1), by DCV and DPV at HMDmE (both from 1 × 10–7to 1 × 10–4mol l–1;LQs ≈ 2 × 10–7and 1 × 10–7mol l–1for DCV and DPV, respectively), and by AdSDPV at HMDmE (from 2 × 10–9to 1 × 10–7mol l–1;LQ ≈ 4 × 10–9mol l–1). Practical applicability of the developed methods was verified on the direct determination of 2-AFN in model samples of drinking and river water in nanomolar to micromolar concentrations.

Abstract:
This research work investigates the post-cocoon parameters of three Tasar silkworm races: Daba Bivoltine (DBV), Daba Trivoltine (DTV) and BDR-10, reared during the second crop, to enhance understanding of their qualitative and quantitative traits for commercial sericulture. Conducted at the Silk Technical Service Center (STSC) of Central Silk Technological Research Institute (CSTRI), Central Silk Board (CSB) in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, the study measured various parameters, including peduncle length, weight, thickness, cocoon color, shape, weight, shell weight, shell ratio, filament length, non-broken filament length (NBFL), filament denier, raw silk recovery, reelability, boil-off loss and the number of cocoons required to produce 1 kg of raw silk. The results revealed that BDR-10 exhibited the highest cocoon weight, reelability and raw silk recovery, making it the most productive race, while DBV showed superior filament length, shell weight and denier, providing a balance between productivity and quality. Although DTV demonstrated lower performance in some parameters, it exhibited the highest shell ratio and filament denier, indicating its potential for specific applications requiring thicker filaments. The study concludes that BDR-10 is the most promising race for maximizing silk yield and quality, DBV offers a balanced option, and DTV can still be utilized for commercial reeling with appropriate precautions.

Abstract:
For asteroseismological reasons the discovery of new pulsating degenerate stars is important. Bradley (1993) lists the number of known pulsating white dwarfs at that time - 23 known DAV (ZZ Ceti) stars, 7 known DBV stars and 5 known DOV (PG1159) stars. Of these degenerate pulsators 80% (including all DBVs) are in the northern hemisphere. This illustrates the great incompleteness in the search for such objects in the southern hemisphere.The Edinburgh-Cape Blue Object Survey is a potential source of candidate degenerate pulsators in the southern hemisphere (Stobie et al. 1992). The blue stellar objects are identified from COSMOS scans of U and B plates taken with the UK Schmidt Telescope. Follow-up photometry and spectroscopy are being obtained at the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) to classify and determine the nature of each blue stellar object. Currently, over 190 DA white dwarfs have been identified, of which the majority are not in existing catalogues (O’Donoghue et al. 1993). From these white dwarfs, we have selected DA stars with B-V colours near or within the range 0.15 ≤ B-V ≤ 0.25 together with all the non-DA degenerate stars (DO, DB, etc.) to monitor for variability.

Det finns två faktorer som avgör att jag väljer att utbilda mig till lärare: 1. Jag har mycket lätt att få kontakt med ungdomar. 2. Jag vill försöka att slå mynt av och arbeta med ett livslångt privatintresse; historia. Min ursprungliga idé var att arbeta som historielärare på gymnasiet. Mina VFU- perioder i lärarutbildningen har visat mitt egentliga ”kall”; att jag ska arbeta som speciallärare. Perioderna i verklighetens lärarmiljö har visat att jag är ”duktig” med de ”bråkiga, stökiga och oroliga” eleverna vilka kan ha en osynlig funktionsnedsättning, som medför läs- och skrivsvårigheter t.ex. dyslexi. Den troliga orsaken till min kompetens med dessa elever, är att jag själv var en obstinat elev, med en oupptäckt dyslexi, vilket medförde att jag förvandlades till den misslyckade bråkiga eleven i grundskolan. Mina erfarenheter som oregerlig elev, samt en utbildning i mitt egna handikapp, dyslexi, har medfört att jag kan nå till ”störiga elever”, vilket går att uttrycka med ett ordspråk: ”Lika barn leka bäst”. Jag har erfarenheten och förståelsen att vara totalt misslyckad i skolsammanhang vilket är oerhört bra förkunskaper som troligtvis inte går att läsa sig till på någon lärarkurs på universitet eller högskola. Det var troligtvis mina ”privata” förkunskaper, som misslyckad störig elev, som ledde till en anställning som resurslärare på Skola A efter två veckors VFU – praktik. Den anställande rektorn ansåg att jag var duktig med de ”stökiga eleverna”. Anställningen på Skola A väckte tanken om att jag vill arbeta som speciallärare och mina VFU – perioder på Skola B, där jag mötte fler oroliga, stojiga och lekfulla elever. Jag fick möjligheten att prova av min dyslexikompetens med dyslektiska elever. Jag fick möjligheten att ge en dyslektisk kille, läsupplevelse genom en talbok + vanlig bok att han fick möjligheten att följa med i handlingen och samtidigt läsa orden ur boken, ökad ordförståelse: Vilket resulterade till att den lekande individen under läslektionerna satt stilla och läste. Min handledare tyckte att det var fantastiskt att se och berömde min gärning. Vilket jag kommenterade: Jag har gett honom verktygen att läsa, arbetet att läsa gör väl han själv. Läsupplevelsen förstärkte jag genom att låta honom se filmen som baserades på boken. Det var troligtvis detta som medförde att han valde mig som speciallärare till grammatiken en termin senare. Eleven ställde sig upp oväntat i klassrummet och frågade huvudläraren om han fick ha grammatiklektionerna med mig. När vi lämnade klassrummet hade jag en liten grupp med läs- och skrivsvaga elever, vilket jag fick lägga upp arbetstimmarna helt själv. Jag har även hittat dyslektiska elever i klasser vid första mötet. Jag utgick enbart från elevernas beteende, på vilket sätt denne läste och skrev för att misstänka dyslexi. Det jag saknade mest under mina VFU – perioder, var talböcker till en del elever, inte enbart under läslektionerna i Svenska utan även i övriga ämnen, samt ”maskiner” som spelade upp detta åt eleven, små enkla ”maniker” som medfört att elever har sluppit att lida under lektioner. Jag har mött många fina trevliga benämningar ang. läs- och skrivsvaga elever under min lärarutbildning men inte hur man hjälper dessa individer i lektion sammanhang. LPO 94 talar om elevers rätt till lika utbildning, jag är rädd att det inte fungerar i praktiken. Det är trevligt att det finns massa bra utredningar som kan konstatera elever dilemman t.ex. dyslexi, men vad hjälper en diagnos när det inte finns resurser till lärandet.

Abstract:
<p>Denna uppsats syftar till att belysa hur lärare som undervisar döva på gymnasienivå arbetar med sin tvåspråkiga undervisning. Vår forskningsfråga har varit ”Hur arbetar lärare med planering av sin tvåspråkiga undervisning – utifrån vad som anges i styrdokument - inom svenskämnet på gymnasienivå?”.</p><p>Vi har antagit att lärare använder styrdokument i och med planeringen. De styrdokument som finns avsedda för dessa lärare är Läroplan för de frivilliga skolformerna 1994 och kursplan Svenska för döva. Styrdokumenten talar om lärares ansvar och skyldigheter. Vår fråga har varit hur lärare planerar. Det vi har strävat efter är att beskriva lärares egna erfarenheter och upplevelser samt åsikter.</p><p>Planering utifrån styrdokument har varit vår utgångspunkt. Sedan har vi antagit elevmaterial, arbetslagsarbete och kunskap om dövas tvåspråkighet som de stöd dessa lärare har för planeringen av sin tvåspråkiga undervisning. Det har följaktligen blivit fyra delar i vår undersökning; styrdokument, elevmaterial, arbetslagsarbete och kunskap om dövas tvåspråkighet.</p><p>Som metod har vi tillämpat kvalitativa intervjuer. Vi har intervjuat fyra lärare som undervisar döva i svenska på gymnasienivå.</p><p>Som resultat har vår intervjustudie visat att informanterna har olika erfarenheter, upplevelser och åsikter. När det gäller styrdokumenten är gemensamt för informanterna att de anser att läroplanen är diffus. Dock är det olika vad gäller informanternas arbete med planeringen, alla har till exempel arbetat olika lång tid. Beträffande arbetslagsarbete är det i hög grad olika för informanterna. De får olika stöd genom arbetslagsarbete. För vissa diskuteras det mycket om språkfrågor inom arbetslaget medan det inte är likadant för andra. I fråga om elevmaterial har vi konstaterat att det råder brist på material, direkt anpassat till informanternas elever. <p>Denna uppsats utgår från perspektiv och intressen hos en döv, blivande lärare i idrott och hälsa. I den svenska grundskolans kursplaner ingår musik, rytm, dans och rörelse, förutom i ämnet musik också i ämnet idrott och hälsa. Specialskolan för döva och hörselskadade barn skall motsvara grundskolan och har i stort sett liknande intentioner i sin kursplan som grundskolans, så när som på att ämnet musik ersätts av ämnet rörelse och drama. Vad gäller ämnet idrott och hälsa är mitt intryck att musik och dans felaktigt plockas bort från ämnet i specialskolan. Syftet med min uppsats är att ge exempel på hur musik och dans i idrottsundervisningen för döva barn i specialskolan kan se ut, uppfattas och påverka barnen. Jag har genomfört kvalitativa intervjuer med tre personer, en skolpsykolog, en rytmiklärare och en idrottslärare, som med sin kunskap representerar varsitt ämnesområde: "Dövhet och socialisation", "Musik och dans" och "Musik och dans i idrottsundervisningen". Dessa tre ämnesområden ger en helhetsbild i diskussionen, som kan inspirera till samverkan över ämnesgränserna i specialskolan. En vanlig fördom är att döva personer inte kan uppfatta musik och därmed inte dansa. Döva personer, kan påverkas av en sådan fördom och anta en negativ uppfattning av musik och dans. En sådan fördom kan också vara en orsak till att musik och dans plockas bort av en del lärare i idrott och hälsa i specialskolan. Musik och dans på dövas villkor är att skapa musik för döva, som ger rytmer att dansa till.</p>

Syftet med examensarbetet var att undersöka hur det kan vara att växa upp som hörande barn till döva föräldrar och hur skolsituationen kan ha sett ut. Studien är undersökt utifrån en vuxens perspektiv och har ett historiskt perspektiv eftersom jag ville undersöka hur det faktum att vara hörande barn till döva föräldrar eventuellt kan ha förändrats över tid och hur skolsituationen eventuellt kan ha förändrats över tid. För att examensarbetet skulle uppnå sitt syfte har studien utgått ifrån följande frågeställningar: Vilken roll kan ett hörande barn ha i en familj med döva föräldrar? Vilken roll kan ett hörande barn till döva föräldrar ha i skolan? samt Hur kan dessa roller eventuellt ha förändrats med tiden?Undersökningsmetoden som har använts i studien för att besvara frågeställningarna var kvalitativa intervjuer och genom ett föredrag. Respondenterna var fem stycken kvinnor som är hörande barn till döva föräldrar. De är födda någon gång mellan 1953 till 1988 och därför är frågeställningarna besvarade i en vuxens perspektiv. De teoretiska utgångspunkterna tar upp begreppen CODA, döv, teckenspråkstolk, men även om barnsyn i ett historiskt perspektiv samt om hur individens roll förändrats i läroplaner. Resultatet pekar åt att ett CODA-barn kan ha behövt ta ett stort ansvar både i familjen och i skolan.

<p> </p><p>The aim of this paper was to investigate how many students studying Swesdish as a foreign language, at secondary school level, in Tierps kommun, that have dropped out and their reasons for doing so. The reason for this is the report from Skolverket, stating that the rate of drop outs at this level is very high. To investigate this, a quantitative method was used. A questionnaire was sent out to all the students that dropped out 2005-2008. The result showed that the two main reasons for leaving their studies were that the individuals had found a job or thought the studies were too hard. The research also showed that the majority of the students had not been in contact with Career counseller prior to ending their studies. We came to the conclusion that there might be a need for developing the teaching and to work out routines for guidance at drop out situations. This to decrease the amount of drop outs in the future.  </p>

<p>De dövas kamp för en egen kultur har formats till att de har teckenspråket som sitt första språk och svenska skriftspråket som sitt andra språk. Idag har många döva och hörselskadade Cochleaimplantat (CI) i tidig ålder. Det har varit hårt debatterat under en period. Syftet i föreliggande studie var att undersöka attityden hos döva/gravt hörselskadade ungdomars inställning till Cochleaimplantat. 21 ungdomar mellan 14-18 år har besvarat en enkät och fem intervjuer har genomförts, tre med döva ungdomar utan CI (varav en hade haft CI tidigare) och två intervjuer med ungdomar med CI.</p><p> </p><p>Följande frågor har studerats i föreliggande studie:</p><ul><li>Vilka för- respektive nackdelar finns med Cochleaimplantat enligt ungdomarna?</li><li>Hur upplever döva/gravt hörselskadade ungdomarna det är att vara döv/gravt hörselskadad idag med eller utan Cochleaimplantat?</li><li>Hur tänker döva/gravt hörselskadade ungdomar om dövkulturens framtid?</li></ul><p> </p><p>Ungdomarna med CI ser inga större nackdelar med CI. Samtliga av deras familjer är hörande. De anser att det är bra att höra ljud och att de får mer tillgång till de hörandes värld genom CI. Några nackdelar är när implantatet går sönder då kan det förekomma en lång reparationstid. Andra ungdomar med CI har svårt när det blir tekniska problem med CI. Ungdomarna utan CI ser sig inte ha något behov av att operera in CI, det är endast några som har haft funderingar kring det. I deras familjer förekommer det i några fall andra personer som är döva.</p><p> </p><p>Ungdomarna utan CI anser att de som har implantat är svikare mot dövkulturen. En rädsla för att teckenspråket ska dö ut finns. Föräldrar som fattat beslut om att operera in implantat på barn i tidig ålder fattar ett avgörande över barnets egen vilja medan några ungdomar utan CI menar att CI är fult och att det syns. Ett ingrepp i hjärnan kan också väcka en rädsla.</p><p> </p><p>Alla ungdomarna i föreliggande studie har de flesta kamrater både med eller utan CI. De anser sig trivas i sin vardag och umgås med varandra i skolan. På fritiden träffas de med jämna mellanrum på ett teckenspråkscafé. Andra fritidsaktiviteter har de tillsammans med hörande och då är ofta en teckenspråkstolk närvarande.</p><p> </p><p>Samtliga ungdomar tänker fortsätta studera i framtiden. Flertalet kommer söka till riksgymnasiet i Örebro. I Örebro finns ett stort programutbud för döva och gravt hörselskadade. Undantagsvis tror någon deltagande om denne hade haft CI skulle han/hon ha kunnat söka en mer avancerad utbildning, medan några anser att de söker till den utbildning de har tänkt sig vare sig det finns en anpassning eller inte till dövhet och hörselnedsättning.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>

För tio år sedan gick en stor andel av barn med cochleaimplantat (CI) i specialskolan för elever som är döva eller har hörselnedsättning, idag väljs till största delen den egna hemkommunens skola. Barn med CI är medicinskt döva utan sitt CI men fungerar som en person med varierad grad av hörselnedsättning med sitt CI. Med denna utveckling, specialskolans målgrupp i förändring i grunden genomfördes 2011 en utredning med titeln ”Med rätt att välja – flexibel undervisning för elever som tillhör specialskolans målgrupp” (SOU 2011:30). Här beskrivs att elever som är döva eller har en hörselnedsättning ska få större möjlighet att välja utbildning och att de som har behov av teckenspråk ska ha rätt att läsa det i grundskolan och grundsärskolan. De kan därmed bo kvar i sin hemmiljö. Syftet med mitt arbete är att belysa hur ett antal kommuner har hanterat undervisning i svenskt teckenspråk för elever med hörselnedsättning i kommunala grundskolor. Jag har valt att intervjua personer med en ledande roll för Hörselverksamhet i åtta kommuner. Det är tydligt att tillgången till undervisning i svenskt teckenspråk varierar stort mellan landets kommuner. Det finns de som lyft frågan till politiker vilka fattat beslut om hur undervisning ska erbjudas, medan det i andra kommuner är helt avhänget på den personal som arbetar med barnen och eleverna. Där undervisning ges är den ofta förlagd till en skola med hörselinriktning och ofta efter skoldagens slut. Den individuella rätten att lära sig och utveckla teckenspråk inom skolväsendet kan inte hävdas med stöd av språklagen som kom 2009. För att detta ska vara möjligt krävs att en sådan rättighet formuleras i skollagen och skolförordningen. Ansvaret ligger även på föräldrarna som mera aktivt får söka och efterfråga möjligheten till teckenspråk för sina barn. Det förekommer en variation ifall det ges som ämne med betygsättning, det kan även ses som ett stöd, vilket ibland resulterar i tecken som stöd. En svårighet är även bristen på legitimerade lärare med teckenspråk som ämne.

Examensarbetets syfte är att få veta vad föräldrarna till döva och hörselskadade barn i länet vill vad det gäller Hörselhabiliteringens informationsmöten för föräldrarna samt Hörselhabiliteringens gruppverksamhet för deras barn.Jag valde att göra en kvantitativ undersökning och skickade ut 124 enkäter till föräldrar till döva och hörselskadade barn i Jönköpings län. Resultatet grundar sig på 88 av 124 möjliga enkäter. Sammanfattningsvis pekar resultatet av undersökningen på att de flesta föräldrar till döva och hörselskadade barn vill att Hörselhabiliteringen organiserar gemensamma informationsmöten för föräldrar tillsammans med andra föräldrar. Problem: Kommunikation med patienter är en viktig del i hälso- och sjukvårdsarbete. Därför var det av intresse att studera döva personers erfarenheter av bemötande och kommunikation inom hälso- och sjukvård. Syfte: Att beskriva vuxna döva personers erfarenheter av bemötande och kommunikation inom hälso- och sjukvård. Metod: Litteraturstudie där 14 artiklar granskades och analyserades. Resultat och konklusion: Döva personer kunde uppleva rädsla och oro samt mötas av respektlöshet, bristande kunskap och fördomar hos hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal. De upplevde att kommunikationen kunde vara bristfällig samt att hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal kunde ha bristande kunskap om kommunikation med döva personer. Mellan döva personer och hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal användes olika kommunikationssätt. Det kunde vara att skriva på lappar, läsa av läppar, använda sig av professionell tolk eller närstående som tolk. Under vissa förutsättningar kunde dessa kommunikationssätt upplevas otillräckliga. Kommunikation kunde underlättas om hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal kommunicerade med teckenspråk, kroppsspråk eller med hjälp av en professionell tolk. Implikation: Mer forskning behövs om döva personers erfarenheter av bemötande och kommunikation inom hälso- och sjukvård, samt om hur sjuksköterskan kan förbättra kommunikation med döva personer.
