Abstract:
There are many putative risk factors for type 2 diabetes (T2D), and the causal relationship between these factors and diabetes has been established. Socio-environmental and biological approaches are increasingly used to infer causality, and research is needed to understand the causal role of these factors in diabetes risk. Therefore, this study investigated the extent to which the treatment factor of stress induces the risk of diabetes through socio-environmental and biological factors. We present machine learning-based causal inference results generated using DoWhy, a Python library that provides a four-step causal inference method consisting of modeling, identification, estimation, and refutation steps. This study used 253,680 examples collected by the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), created a causal model based on a socio-environmental model, and tested the statistical significance of the obtained estimates. We identified several causal relationships and attempted various refutations. The results show that mental health problems increase the incidence of diabetes by about 15% (mean value: 0.146). The causal effect was evaluated based on the causal model, and the reliability of causal inference was proved through three refutation tests.

Abstract:

There is no limit in the number of maximum and minimum levels of dowry, however, it is recommended that dowry is not burdensome or impose, as a wedding blessing that contain marriage dowry is easy and not too expensive. Lessons sharia or dowry is that husband and wife when mixed, to respect women and to be a guide for the wife.

This article explains the rules of dowry which is a form of seriousness of a prospective husband towards the prospective wife he is going to marry. This paper uses the library research method which refers to previous research and also from books related to dowry. With the aim of finding out about the dowry and the rules of jurisprudence related to the dowry. The rules include that the dowry is obligatory and is a woman's right. The initial requirement in the marriage section is a commensurate dowry, property or benefits that can be handed over legally, marriage can be given to it and nothing that is not allowed, then what is not considered a dowry is called dowry, then the contract is valid and a similar dowry is required.

Abstract:
This article compares dowry regulations in Indonesia and Morocco. Bearing in mind that Indonesia and Morocco have different characteristics in dowry matter, the regulations are worth comparing for. As understood in Islamic marriages, dowry is an important obligation and must be fulfilled by the bridegroom for the bride. Normative Islamic teaching advocates for dowry that is simple and reasonable, but in practice, sometimes dowry becomes expensive and difficult to be given, and thus, causing unfavorable effects. In addition, dowry also has the potentials to be subjected to disputes between husband and wife if not regulated by legislation in details. The author uses a comparative study of law guided by a normative approach through library research. The main source is the statutes of two countries. Analysis technique used is content analysis. As a result, it is found that with different backgrounds of fiqh school in Indonesia and Morroco-one being strongly influenced by Shāfi‘ī school and the other is influenced by Mālikī school-have similar rules on dowry. The only significant difference is that the Mālikī School and its legislation in Morocco considers dowry as a marriage pillar. Meanwhile, the Shāfi‘ī school and its legislation in Indonesia, even though the dowry is regarded as compulsory, it does not become a condition or a marriage pillar. Other differences are the definition of dowry, regulation of wife’s luggage, lost dowry, defective dowry, introduction of mithil dowry, regulation of dowry disputes before entering the household, and regulation of furniture disputes other than the wife’s luggage.

Abstract:
This research is related to the thoughts of Imam Abu Hanifah who allows shigar marriages on the condition that both men must pay the mitsil dowry. This research seeks to reveal the reasons and legal guidelines used by Abu Hanifah regarding the permissibility of shigar marriage. This research method is library research which examines literature related to the research discussion, namely the books of al-Mabsuth and Badi'us Sana'i. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis methods. Abu Hanifah is of the opinion that syighar marriage is prohibited because it makes the honor (budu') of the two women being married as a dowry, even though a woman's honor should not be used as a dowry, so that the dowry from the marriage becomes damaged (fasid), whereas "a marriage is not invalid just because the dowry is damaged (fasid)”, then in exchange for the damaged dowry (fasid) the two men are obliged to pay the mitsil dowry, this is required for marriages where the dowry is wine or pork. The prohibition in the two hadiths only shows that it is makruh, not haram, whereas "marriage is not invalidated by something that is makruh". The prohibition is also aimed at the essence of syighar, not at 'ain nikah. The argument that Abu Hanifah uses is a hadith narrated by 'Abdullah bin Umar "that the Prophet forbade marrying women without a dowry". The dowry is a right for the wife, not a guardian's right and an obligation for the husband, so a marriage cannot be empty or desolate from the dowry, as Allah SWT says in Surah an-Nisa: 4 and al-Baqarah: 236. In a broken syigar marriage (fasid ) is the dowry, not the contract, so that the marriage is not empty of dowry, in place of the damaged dowry (fasid) there is a mitsil dowry.

Abstract:
The aim of this research is to find out about the law of giving dowry in the form of recitation of Al-Qur'an verses in marriage from the perspective of the Shafi'i school of thought and the implementation of giving dowry in the form of recitation of Al-Qur'an verses in marriage. The type of research in this thesis is library research, using a qualitative approach, a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written words that must be observed and analyzed. The method used is to examine the legal review of the dowry ta'lim verses of the Koran and matters related to the implementation of the dowry. From the research it can be concluded that in the Syafi'i school of thought, giving a dowry in the form of recitation of Al-Quran verses is permissible (mubah), because the dowry is a dowry in the form of services that can be paid for so that it is legally valid to be used as a dowry in marriage. The implementation or practice of giving dowry in the form of ta'lim verses from the Koran is as follows: The headman asks the prospective bridegroom about the dowry that will be given. The bridegroom answered the dowry by reciting the verses of the Koran. Then the dowry was handed over in the form of recitation of Al-Quran verses witnessed by many people. After the dowry is handed over, the qobul agreement is then carried out. The qobul consent is completed and closed with a prayer.

Abstract:
The last Quaternary ice age strongly influenced the distribution of most plants and animals. Here I used genetics, ecological niche modeling and bioacoustics to understand the possible historical patterns behind the current distribution of the Downy Woodpecker (Picoides pubescens) in North America. Analyses of mtDNA sequences and seven microsatellites loci suggest low genetic differentiation among populations (a maximum of two genetic groups), however population structure is subtle. Ecological niche modeling suggests several refugia SE of US, and some restricted areas east and west of the Rocky Mountains with ecological suitable conditions for the species at 18-21 kya. The analysis of the pik call suggested no geographic variation in the frequency and temporal variables studied. It is likely that the Downy Woodpecker expanded and colonized northern North America quickly after the LGM from a southern refugium<br>x, 96 leaves ; 29 cm

Abstract:
Dowries have traditionally been viewed in economics as arising from a supply imbalance of the marriage market which disadvantages women. In this thesis, a different cause is proposed. Dowries are modelled as arising from an intertemporal bargaining process in a frictional search market, with differential aging in favour of men. This extends the insights of the standard model and is able to explain several puzzling stylised facts. Most notably, dowries may occur when there are more men than women in the market, and dowry and brideprice can coexist in the same market. The model is extended to include heterogeneous males of different quality.

Abstract:
Hyaloperonospora parasitica, phylum Oomycota, is a biotrophic plant pathogen that causes downy mildew on its cruciferous host plants. Naturally-infected plants show disease resistance visible as a hypersensitive response (HR).. This response results from the interaction of pathogen effectors with receptors and signalling molecules in the plant cell, causing localised necrosis killing the infected host cell. H parasitica isolates that are host-specific on the model plant Arabidopsis have been used to identify such pathogen effector genes. In this work I attempted to use this information to identify similar genes in isolates host specific to the crop plant Brassica oleracea. Potential effector molecules, encoding amino-terminal signal peptides, produced by Arabidopsis isolates ofH parasitica were sequenced in up to . 16 isolates and analysed for selection pressure, using population genetic methods. Highly variable genes were categorised as candidate virulence factors that might be involved in molecular interactions with the host detection machinery. Since they exhibit high amino acid variability, they are likely to be under positive selection pressure for change. The most diverse gene (ATR13) was cloned and expressed in planta to test for HR. This group of genes were then used to determine if they were under similar levels of selection in B. oleracea isolates of H parasitica. To search for the homologues in this related H parasitica subspecies a genomic library and an expressed sequence tag (EST) library were produced, as direct methods of gene isolation and were generally unsuccessful. The two main strategies employed were the use of microsyntenies to localise effector regions in the genome and a random sequencing approach to search for genes that encode signal peptides and effector motifs, such as the predicted targeting motifs RXLR and DEER, which are important to the delivery of oomycete effectors into host cells. While it was possible to find the regions of ATR13 and ATRl in the genome, it was not possible to find the orthologues of these avirulence factors. Using the EST approach many new candidate effectors were identified. It is clear from the data produced in this project that although the H parasitica isolates from B. oleracea and Arabidopsis both infect Brassicacae, they are very distantly related. So far no highly variable genes were found in the crop pathogen, although many interesting new candidates for secreted virulence factors were identified and work on a potential locus of avirulence factors has been initiated.

Abstract:
This article will follow the evolution of dowry boxes on the territory of the Republic of Moldova (late nineteenth century – mid-twentieth century), the role of external influence, the Romanian, Ukrainian and Russian, which left its mark on the type of decoration to these boxes. It will also be followed, the place and the way of their execution. The peasant’s economic factor and the social condition led to a different number and different quality of the dowry boxes, made by local craftsmen or purchased in fairs and cities. Models of dowry boxes made of joiners or carpentries, differed according to the way of joining and decoration techniques (notching, painting, carving, etc.), each in its own way presenting special artistry. The field research on the Republic of Moldova’s entire territory (2.3 localities from each district of the Republic), related to historical data and literature, has allowed classification of crates and their dating in its historical evolution. This classification allows us to capitalize on and promote our cultural heritage.

Abstract:
This study evaluated the variability of bark characteristics in eight populations of downy oak (Quercus pubescens Willd.) across the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The aim of this study was to assess the degree of variability of bark characteristics within populations to evaluate the specifics of their variation and spatial distribution, which are essential for the conservation of the gene pool and sustainable resource utilization. The study analyzed the following bark characteristics: length of bark crack segments, width of bark crack segments, depth of bark segments, length of bark plate segments, and width of bark plate segments. Within the investigated populations, these characteristics exhibited high and very high degrees of variability. Although significant variability was observed, the mean values of downy oak populations were relatively close for three of the characteristics analyzed. Statistically significant differences between populations were found only for the length of bark crack segments and the length of bark plate segments. The high and very high variability of characteristics within the studied populations demonstrates the polymorphism of downy oak in terms of bark traits, which can be useful in the appropriate management of forests in forestry practice.

Abstract:
Hybridization of Back cross is one method to get varieties that are resistant to downy mildew. The purpose of this study was to obtain information on inheritance characteristics of downy mildew resistance. This research was conducted at the experiment center of Agro-Technology Study Program of Agriculture Faculty, University of Trunojoyo Madura. Research of Assessment of resistance to Downy Mildew used a randomized block design with 18 treatments (P1, P2, F1, F2, BC1P1 and BC1P2 in three sets of crosses, namely LGL x Mdr-3, T12 x Mdr-1 and E02 x Mdr-2) and three replications so there were 54 experimental units. Identification of polymorphic RAPD markers for endurance to downy mildew through Bulk Segregant Analysis (BSA) was done by amplifying the DNA in the resistant pool and susceptible pool. The random primers used were 120 primers from 6 operon groups, namely OPA, OPB, OPC, OPD, OPF and OPG. The results showed that the inheritance pattern of maize genetic resistance to downy mildew followed a segregation pattern of 3:1 with a degree of dominance between -1 and 0, and was controlled by incomplete partially negative dominant gene. OPC-07 was a marker that was linkage close to the resistance to downy mildew with a genetic distance of 1.9 cM.

Abstract:
The popularity of local craft beers in the US is growing, as is the desire for beers made with all-local ingredients. Maryland breweries have been able to use locally grown ingredients, including hops, but have not been able to claim use of a hop native to Maryland. 'Monocacy' hop was discovered in Maryland on a farm that was part of the original Carrollton Manor, once owned by Charles Carroll, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, in what was likely a cottage garden between the house and barn. Molecular fingerprinting established it as unique and clustering with hop accessions native to North America. Compared with cultivars currently grown in Maryland, 'Monocacy' is very large and vigorous, late maturing, and tolerant of of two-spotted spider mites, potato leafhoppers, and hop downy mildew. 'Monocacy' produces high yields of large open cones with an herbaal-floral aroma and abundant lupulin. Most hops have more alpha acids than beta acids, and contribute a bitter flavor to beers. The 'Monocacy' alpha acid content was lower than the beta acid content, with alpha to beta acid ratios ranging from 0.54 to 0.59 and could contribute to a beer that is not overly bitter. High myrcene (12.85%) and caryophyllene (38.13%) suggest a spicy-floral character. 'Monocacy' added an earthy and spicy note to lighter beers, and in some beers when used as a dry hop it added a light fruity note on the pallet in the finish. The most recent beer using 'Monocacy' had a medium-light body with a bisquity malt aroma and delicate "spicy/hoppy" nose. Maryland breweries are anxious to use this hop in their beers.
