Abstract:
In light of increasing integration of renewable and distributed energy sources, power systems are undergoing significant changes. Due to the fast dynamics of such sources, the system is in many cases not quasi-static, and cannot be accurately described by time-varying phasors. In such systems the classic power flow equations do not apply, and alternative models should be used instead. In this light, this paper offers a tutorial on the dynamics and control of power systems with distributed and renewable energy sources, based mainly on the dq0 transformation. The paper opens by recalling basic concepts of dq0 quantities and dq0-based models. We then explain how to model and analyze passive networks, synchronous machines, three-phase inverters, and how to systematically construct dq0-based models of complex systems. We also highlight the idea that dq0 models may be viewed as a natural extension of time-varying phasor models, and discuss the correct use and validity of each approach.

Abstract:
This paper presents a non-iterative technique that generates reference current to manage operation of a three-phase four-wire shunt active power filter which employs a three-leg split capacitor voltage source inverter (VSI) topology. The proposed technique integrates together a self-tuning-filter (STF) and direct-quadrature-zero (dq0) principle (referred here as STF-dq0), allowing the controlled shunt active power filter (SAPF) to perform effectively under distorted source voltages and unbalanced load conditions. Unlike the previous technique developed based on the standard dq0 principle, the proposed technique does not require any service from a phase-locked loop (PLL) where two STFs are applied to separate harmonic and fundamental elements for the purpose of generating synchronization phases and reference current, respectively. Simulation work which includes connection of the SAPF circuits, design of control techniques and all the necessary assessments are conducted in MATLAB-Simulink platform. Performance achieved by the SAPF while utilizing the proposed technique is thoroughly investigated and benchmarked with that demonstrated by the SAPF while using the standard dq0 technique, to evaluate the inherent advantages. Exhaustive simulation results are provided and thoroughly discussed to support design concept, effectiveness, and benefits of the proposed technique.

Abstract:
This paper proposes a novel deadbeat torque and flux control (DB-DTFC) to reduce torque ripple for switched reluctance motor (SRM). DB-DTFC combines the advantages of direct torque control (DTC) and space-vector modulation (SVM). DB-DTFC leads current vector control into DTC in order to find the equation between torque and current through deadbeat prediction theory i.e. a beat reaches a given point. In addition, the deadbeat calculation module here is similar to that of permanent magnet synchronous motor. Based on dq0 reference frame of SRM, the most suitable dq0 axis current of next moment corresponding to different torque errors is calculated and predicted. According to the calculated dq0 axis current, the optimal space voltage vectors can be selected to reduce torque ripple. In order to verify the effectiveness and correctness of the proposed scheme, DB-DTFC is verified and compared with the DTC-SVM by simulation.

Abstract:
Abstract This paper presents distribution static compensator (DSTATCOM) with dq0 current controller and sine pulse width modulation (SPWM) switching for compensation of unbalanced nonlinear load in distribution system. DSTATCOM, connected in parallel to load at the point of common coupling (PCC), is used for supplying reactive and harmonic components of load current demand. This dq0 current controller is implemented in synchronous reference frame (SRF) rotating at fundamental frequency and consists of harmonic compensation (HC) regulator along with proportional integrator (PI) regulator. HC regulator is realized by number of sinusoidal signal integrators (SSIs) in parallel. The SSI provides high gain for tuned harmonic frequency and helps in minimizing filter current tracking error while compensating for load harmonic currents. Zero-axis controller, which compensates load neutral current and helps in obtaining balanced utility currents, is provided along with d, q controllers. SPWM switching generates inverter gating pulses at constant frequency, which reduces stress levels on VSI switches and simplifies the design of interface filter. Simulation studies of DSTATCOM load compensation with dq0 current controller are carried out in Matlab/Simulink and experimental verification is done using dSpace 1104 with Matlab real-time interface (RTI).

Abstract:
This paper presents a method based on adaptive two-dimensional wavelet packet for three-phase power quality data. In this paper, we shall briefly introduce the method of dq0 transformation. First, the original data is converted by the method of dq0 transformation, its purpose may be to eliminate redundancy between the three-phases alternating data, then change the one-dimensional date converted into a two-dimensional matrix by the integral multiple of cycles, which aims to eliminate redundant between cycles. Finally, use the method of two-dimensional adaptive wavelet packet decomposition, image SPIHT coding and DEFLATE coding to compress the data. The simulation result shows that the algorithm effectively compress the three-phase power quality data, and it has a good compression effect.

Abstract:
Introduction. Coeliac disease is a genetically determined disease associated with the HLA-DQ2 and DQ8 genes. According to European data, these alleles are detected in more than 95% of patients. The results of earlier studies in various regions of the Russian Federation and the constituent republics have shown a lower incidence of HLA-DQ2/DQ8 in children with coeliac disease (60–80%). These data served as a basis for discussion about regional genetic features and the potential for disease development in a significant proportion of patients without DQ2/DQ8 alleles.Methods. Genetic screening was conducted on 275 children with coeliac disease. According to the results of the study, the patients were assigned to genetic risk groups.Results. HLA-DQ2/DQ8-alleles were detected in 274 children (99.6%), with 86.9% of patients having DQ2 molecule in genotype and 12.7% having DQ8 molecule. Among 239 DQ2-positive patients, 33.5% were DQ2 homozygous. The remaining DQ2-positive patients had the following HLA-DR-DQ allele distribution: DR3-DQ2/DR5-DQ7 – 8.7%, DR7-DQ2/DR5-DQ7 – 13.4%, DR3-DQ2/ DRx-DQx – 22.2%, DR7-DQ2/DRx-DQx – 2.2%. In five children the incomplete DQ2 molecule was determined, represented by DQA1*0501 allele, while in four patients DQA1*501 was associated with DQB1*0301 allele forming DR5-DQ7 molecule. We found high and significant risk alleles in 29.1% and 22.2% of cases, while moderate and low risk alleles were found in 27.3% and 21.4% of cases respectively. Conclusions: In Russian children with coeliac disease the prevalence of HLA-DQ2/DQ8 alleles corresponds to European data. Low detection frequency of HLA-DQ2/DQ8 molecules in Russian coeliac patients, which was reported earlier, may be due to peculiarities of the approach to the disease diagnostics, which do not correspond to modern Russian and international recommendations.

Abstract:
Coeliac disease (CD) is a systemic autoimmune, complex and multifactorial disorder, which is caused by interactions between genetic and environmental factors. The only established genetic risk factors so far are the human leucocyte antigens. The aim of this study was to assess the distribution of II class human leukocyte antigens (HLA) in patients with coeliac disease and to investigate the susceptibility to coeliac disease in family members. We typed HLA DR and DQ antigens in 37 patients from Vojvodina with coeliac disease, 23 first-degree relatives, and 210 controls, serologically using standard lymphocytotoxicity technique. HLA DQ5(1), DQ6(1), DR11(5), DQ7(3), DQ2 and DR15(2) were the most common antigens in the control group. Frequency of HLA DQ2, DR3 and DR7 was higher in CD patients than in the control group. The relative risks for HLA DQ2, DR3 and DR7 were 4.846, 6.986 and 2.106, respectively, while positive association was found between HLA DQ2 and DR3 and CD. Frequency of HLA DQ2, DR3 and DR16(2) was higher in first-degree relatives than in the control group while a positive association was found between HLA DQ2 and DR3. A negative association was found between HLA DQ5(1) and DQ6(1) in coeliac patients from Vojvodina and their relatives, in addition to HLA DR11(5) in the group of relatives (RR=0.363,PF=0.232). These findings indicate the impact of the HLA testing for CD in clinical practice in order to rule out the possibility to CD in doubtful cases or in at-risk subjects.

Abstract:
Background Celiac disease is an autoimmune enteropathy triggered by the ingestion of gluten in genetically susceptible individuals. Genetic susceptibility is associated with two sets of alleles, DQA1*05 - DQB1*02 and DQA1*03 - DQB1*03:02, which code for class II MHC DQ2 and DQ8 molecules, respectively. Approximately 90%-95% of celiac patients are HLA-DQ2 positive, and half of the remaining patients are HLA-DQ8 positive. In fact, during a celiac disease diagnostic workup, the absence of these specific DQA and DQB alleles has a near perfect negative predictive value. Objective Improve the detection of celiac disease predisposing alleles by combining the simplicity and sensitivity of real-time PCR (qPCR) and melting curve analysis with the specificity of sequence-specific primers (SSP). Methods Amplifications of sequence-specific primers for DQA1*05 (DQ2), DQB1*02 (DQ2), and DQA1*03 (DQ8) were performed by the real time PCR method to determine the presence of each allele in independent reactions. Primers for Human Growth Hormone were used as an internal control. A parallel PCR-SSP protocol was used as a reference method to validate our results. Results Both techniques yielded equal results. From a total of 329 samples the presence of HLA predisposing alleles was determined in 187 (56.8%). One hundred fourteen samples (61%) were positive for a single allele, 68 (36.3%) for two alleles, and only 5 (2.7%) for three alleles. Conclusion Results obtained by qPCR technique were highly reliable with no discordant results when compared with those obtained using PCR-SSP.

In CD-1 mice, peak lymphocyte numbers occurred in blood on postnatal day 10 (dl0) including those for natural killers (NK1.1), B cells (CD19), T helper (CD3CD4), naïve T helper (CD4CD62LposCD44low), memory T helper (CD4CD62LnegCD44high), and T cytotoxic (CD3CD8) cells. As percent of total lymphocytes, peaks were achieved by d10 for all T helper subtypes but not B cells which declined to a nadir. In spleen, lymphocyte numbers increased exponentially after d10. Proportionately, NK and T cells peaked on d10, declined by d20, and increased 2–3-fold by d45. Naive T cells constituted the majority of lymphocytes during development while memory cells gained to 2.2% (blood) and 12 % (spleen) by d20. C57BL/6 mice had similar profiles except that the B cell nadir and T cell subset peaks were at d5. Peripheralization of critical numbers of lymphocytes by d10, and importantly, development of a repertoire of memory cells by d20, may define immune response capabilities that close the period of immaturity for the neonate.

Abstract:
The genotype of gal and d60 were investigated in 33 rice varieties chosen from representative semidwarf and dwarf rice varieties. These were crossed with three tester lines, the d60Gal line (genotype d60d60GalGal), the D60gal line (Koshihikari, D60D60galgal), and the D60Gal line (D60D60GalGal). Each F1 plant was measured for culm length, and seed fertility. As a result, all F1 lines with the d60Gal line showed tallness and partial sterility, reduced by 25% in average from those with the D60gal line (Koshihikari) and the D60Gal line. These data indicated that the genotype of the 33 varieties is D60D60galgal and that the d60 locus is not allelic to those of sd1, d1, d2, d6, d18k, d29, d30, d35, d49, d50, and qCL1 involved in the 33 varieties. In addition, the gal gene is not complementarily activated with the semidwarf and dwarf genes described above, other than d60. The Gal gene will be ubiquitously distributed in rice. It is emphasized that Gal is a rare and valuable mutant gene essential to the transmission of d60. The double dwarf genotype of homozygous d30d60 was rarely gained in the F3 of the d30 line × d60 line by breaking their repulsion d60-D30 linkage on chromosome 2.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Genetical and environmental factors play an interactive role in the development of acute and chronic leukemias. HLA antigens have been considered as possible genetic risk factors. The aim of this work was to investigate a possible association between HLA class II polymorphisms and leukemias and myelodysplastic syndrome. In the present study we investigated HLA class II antigens, DR/DQ and DR51/DR52/DR53 haplotypes in 100 patients: 7 suffering from myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS),37 from acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ALL),32 from acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and 24 from chronic myeloid leukemia(CML). A panel of 210 healthy unrelated individuals of the same origin, from Vojvodina, served as controls. HLA phenotyping was performed by two color fluorescence method. In patients suffering from MDS was found a positive association with DR7(RR=2.598,EF=0.175) and DQ7(3)(RR=4.419, EF=0.632), while negative association was found for DR15(2)(RR=0.405, PF=0.172) and DQ6(1) (RR=0.889, PF=0,936).Positive association was found in the group of patients with ALL for DR7(RR=2.391,EF=0.688) and DQ2(RR=1.62, EF=0.15),while negative association was found with DQ5(1)(RR=0.075, PF=0.324). In the group of patients with AML, there were positive associations with DR11(5)(RR=1.732,EF=0.211),DQ2(RR= 1.594, EF=0.151) and DQ7(3) (RR=2.547,EF=0.266),while possible protective antigen was DQ5(1) (RR=0.107,RF=0.701). Higher RR than 1 and EF>0.15, in patients suffering from CML was found for DQ6(1)(RR=1.661,EF=0.232), while negative association was found for DR4 (RR=0.182,PF=0.155).Possible protective haplotype in this study was DR3DQ8(3) for patients suffering from AML(RR=0.007, PF=0.501).The distribution of DR53-DR53 haplotypes showed significant difference in male patients with ALL(6% vs 0.09%), while DR52-DR52 haplotype was significantly less frequent in male patients with CML (4% vs 20.47%) and female patients with MDS (1% vs 18.57%), respectively, in comparison to controls. We deduced that DR7 antigen in male patients with ALL has the greatest impact to the higher frequency of DR53-DR53 haplotype in this type of leukemia. The role of HLA antigens as risk factors for development of leukemias in our population was shown and furthermore it could be useful in clinical practice.

Abstract:
Background: An association between HLA antigens and susceptibility to multiple sclerosis (MS) has been established, especially in Caucasian populations. Such associations have not been as clearly defined in many Arab populations, where even the frequencies of specific HLA antigens remain unclear. Objective: The study was designed to (i) investigate the frequencies of HLA Class I and II antigens in Kuwaiti Arabs with MS, and; (ii) assess possible inter-relationships between HLA Class II antigens and such clinical phenotypic variables in MS as age at onset, gender, disease subtype and scale of disability. Subjects and methods: HLA Class I (A, B, C) and Class II (DR, DQ) antigens’ tissue-typing was performed by the standard complement-dependent microlymphocytotoxicity technique in two groups of ageand sex-matched Kuwaiti subjects: (i) 67 patients with definite MS (48 relapsing-remitting, 19 relapsing-progressive) and (ii) 145 unrelated healthy controls. The frequencies of specific HLA types were then compared between patients with controls, and in the former, related to specified clinical parameters. Results: The frequencies for the Class I antigens: A9, A10, A19, A33, B5 and CW4 appeared higher with the presence of MS, although the numbers of positive subjects were rather low. For the Class II antigens, frequencies of DR4, DQ5, DQ6, DQ7 and DQ8 were increased while those for DR6 and DR1 were decreased in the patients with MS. HLA types DR15 and DR4 were present at higher frequencies in patients with a younger age at disease onset; DR15 also appeared more frequent in the female patients. Conclusion: There is a trend towards an association between HLA Class II antigens (DR4, DQ6, DQ7 and DQ8) and MS in Kuwaiti subjects. Additionally, it appeared that DR4 and DR15 were more frequent in females and those with an early onset of the disease. These patterns of HLA Class II determinants of susceptibility to MS differ from reports in some other populations, and may reflect the recognized variability in genetic influence on HLA and disease expression.

Abstract:
Torque ripple reduction of the brushless DC motor has been the main issue of the servo drives in which the speed fluctuation and the vibration should be minimized. Un-ideal back EMF (electromagnetic force) usually induces distinct torque ripple. A full EMF feedback strategy is presented in order to effectively reduce torque ripple. The relationship between the terminal voltage of auxiliary winding and the back EMF of brushless DC motor are investigated, and the back EMF can be measured on-line by using the auxiliary winding, the q-axis current for a constant torque to produce is calculated through coordinate transformation when d-axis current is zero, and the reference q-axis current is adjusted in real time by vector control in dq0 coordinate. The simulation results show that the proposed strategy can effectively minimize the torque ripple.

Lagrange-Maxwell equations and Park transform are adopted based on electrical and mechanical energy equations consisting of servomotor parameters. Lagrange-Maxwell equations are transformed from three-phase stator reference coordinates to two-phase rotor reference coordinates. Electromechanical coupling dynamics equations of permanent magnet synchronous servomotor in two-phase reference coordinates are obtained. In this dynamical modeling method of electromechanical coupling system, to establish dynamical differential equations needs to measure amplitude of the flux induced by the permanent magnets and the winding's inductance in dq0 reference of the motor but needs not to measure the size of magnetic circuit. The equations deduced is terse, efficient, and the equations easy to use. Electromechanical coupling dynamics system, servomotor is simulated. Abstract:
This study addresses the effective mitigation of power quality disturbance such as unbalanced voltage, voltage fluctuation, voltage variation of secondary distribution network using dynamic voltage restorer (DVR). To make distribution system operate at its best performance and minimum loss, DVR is employed. The proposed system is designed using MATLAB/Simulink in Sim Power System tool box. Considering, nevertheless, that standard acceptable performance implies correct voltage profile, minimum loss, no phase shift for voltage and current, absence of overloading of transformers and electrical wires, and acceptable frequency deviation. The new setup of DVR has been put forward using dq0 controller and proportional integral (PI) controller method to improve voltage profile, correct unbalance voltage and enhance power quality problems in secondary distribution network. The simulation results attest to the ability of the proposed DVR configuration in mitigating the power quality problems in secondary distribution network.

Abstract:
Abstract Objectives were to evaluate three timed AI presynch-based synchronization protocols in lactating Holstein-Frisian cattle. Lactating cows (n = 207) were randomly divided into one of the three treatments: 1)PG-PG-Ovsynch (n = 71), cows were subjected to PG(PGF2α;i.m) at 11-d apart. On 11d post 2nd PG shot, standard Ovsynch (GnRH PG–GnRH) was introduced, 2) G7G-Ovsynch(n = 59), PGF2α-2d-GnRH-7d-Ovsynch, 3) Ovsynch-Ovsynch(n = 67), Ovsynch-7d-Ovsynch. Progesterone profile was measured on d30 and d60 post TAI. For monitoring of ovarian status ultrasonography was done at 1st GnRH, PG and 2nd GnRH of the breeding protocol. Pregnancy was diagnosed on d30, 60 and 90 post TAI and pregnancy loss was also on d60 and 90 post TAI. Pregnancy data was analyzed using Chi-square test and plasma P4 profile by ANOVA in SAS. Ovulatory follicle diameter (mean± SD) was 15.02±1.05 in PG-PG-Ovsynch, 15.41±1.28 in G7G-Ovsynch and 15.23±1.23 in Ovsynch-Ovsynch, respectively (P = 0.167). Plasma P4 profile (ng/mL;Mean±SD) on d30 post TAI was 6.46±1.54,7.07±1.19 and in 6.65±1.40 PG-PG-Ovsynch, G7G-Ovsynch and Ovsynch-Ovsynch groups, respectively (P = 0.08). On d60 post TAI, P4 profile was recorded to be 7.35±1.16,8.06±1.27 and 7.81±0.91 in PG-PG-Ovsynch, G7G Ovsynch and Ovsynch Ovsynch, respectively (P = 0.005). Pregnancy rate on day 30 was 50.70(36/71), 58.20(39/67) and 52.50(31/59) in PG-PG-Ovsynch, G7G-Ovsynch and Ovsynch-Ovsynch, respectively (P = 0.88). Similarly,PR on d60 and d90 post TAI was 46.50(33/71):43.70(31/71), 55.20(37/67): 53.70(36/67) and 50.80(30/59):47.50(28/59) in PG-PG-Ovsynch, G7G-Ovsynch and Ovsynch-Ovsynch groups (P = 0.84:0.78), respectively. Pregnancy loss on d60 post TAI was 8.30,5.0 and 3.20% in PG-PG-Ovsynch, G7G-Ovsynch and Ovsynch-Ovsynch, respectively (P = 0.69). Although statistically non-significant (P = 0.73), overall pregnancy loss on d90 post TAI was also numerically higher in PG-PG-Ovsynch(14.0%) protocol as compared to G7G-Ovsynch (8.30%) and Ovsynch-Ovsynch (9.70%). We concluded that G7G-Ovsynch protocol has resulted in increased PR, P4 profile in comparison with PG-PG-Ovsynch and Ovsynch Ovsynch. Similarly, reduced pregnancy loss, ease and economics makes G7G-Ovsynch as a protocol of choice for improved reproductive management in postpartum dairy cows.

Abstract:
Yacon (Smallanthus sonchifolius) is a tuber with a high content of active compounds that offer health benefits, so its productive chain seeks new alternatives to generate yacon products with added value; however, it tends to be a perishable product due to its high aw, chemical composition, and enzymatic activity. The influence of both composition and homogenization in the colloidal stability of yacon suspensions was evaluated for later use in spray drying. Response surface methodology and a central composite design were used, considering three independent variables: homogenization time (TH) (4-6 min), xanthan gum (XG) (0.1-0.2%), and acidity (0.1-0.3%); and the following dependent variables: zeta potential (ζ), color (CIELab), viscosity (μ), stability index by spectral absorption (R), and particle size (D10, D50, and D90). The values of the independent variables that best fit the experimental optimization criteria were: XG=0.16%, acid=0.3%, and TH=4.8 min. The values of the experimental dependent variables and the variables predicted by the quadratic model were ζ=-33.8±4.0 and -37.6 mV, µ=1143.0±93.4 and 1000 cP, R=0.45±0.1 and 0.48, D10=127.8±8.2 and 138.1 µm, D50=251.2±16.3 and 267.7 µm, D90=424.3±28.7 mm and 463.9 µm, L*=41.7±1.4 and 41.8, a*=0.02±0.85 and 1.6, and b*=15.0±1.3 and 14.8, respectively. The colloidal suspension showed adequate physicochemical stability, favored mainly by repulsive forces, homogenization, and rheology of the continuous phase; reaching a content of total solids of 12.5%.

Abstract:
This paper presents how a capacitive voltage source is connected in series to the rotor of induction motor to improve power factor, reduce stator current, and improve efficiency and ability of overloading. The principle of the reactive power compensating device for windings rotor induction motor is described and mathematical model in dq0 reference frame is set up. A single phase to three phases AC-AC cycloconverter is adopted in order to produce capacitive voltage, which make the circuit simple and capacity of transformer much decremented. Using an 89S52 sing-chip microcomputer as the control kernel and MAX197 as A/D, the system is capable of automatic adjusting the function of power factor compensation as the change of the motor load. The system was tested on a JR138-8 motor. The result shows that the power factor is over 0.96 and the current of the stator reduces over 15%.

Abstract:
Abstract The increasing wind power integration with power grid has forced the situation to improve the reliability of wind generators for stable operation. One important problem with induction generator based wind farm is its low ride through capability to the grid voltage disturbance. Any disturbance such as voltage dip may cause wind farm outages. Since wind power contribution is in predominant percentage, such outages may lead to stability problem. The proposed strategy is to use dynamic voltage controller (DVR) to compensate the voltage disturbance. The DVR provides the wind generator the ability to remain connected in grid and improve the reliability. The voltage dips due to symmetrical and unsymmetrical faults are considered for analysis. The vector control scheme is employed for fault compensation which uses software phase locked loop scheme and park dq0 transformation technique. Extensive simulation results are included to illustrate the control and operation of DVR.

This four leg inverter is employed as shunt active power filter to minimizing harmonic currents, reducing magnitude of neutral wire current, eliminating zero sequence current caused by nonlinear single phase loads and compensating reactive power, and a nonlinear sliding mode control technique (SMC) is proposed for harmonic currents and DC bus voltage control to improve the performances of the three phase four wire four leg shunt active power filter based on Synchronous Reference Frame (SRF) theory in the dq0 axes, and to decoupling the four leg SAPF mathematical model.

Abstract:
Celiac disease is a gluten intolerance caused by a T-cell response against human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-DQ2 and DQ8-bound gluten peptides. Some subjects experience gastrointestinal symptoms in the absence of villous atrophy. Here we investigate the potential mechanisms of gut dysfunction in gluten-sensitive HLA-DQ8 transgenic mice. HLA-DQ8 mice were sensitized and gavaged with gliadin 3×/wk for 3 wk (G/G). Controls included 1) nonsensitized mice gavaged with rice (C); 2) gliadin-sensitized mice gavaged with rice (G/R); and 3) BSA-sensitized mice gavaged with BSA (BSA/BSA). CD3+ intraepithelial lymphocyte, macrophage, and FOX-P3-positive cell counts were determined. Acetylcholine release, small intestinal contractility, and epithelial ion transport were measured. Gut function was investigated after gluten withdrawal and in HLA-DQ6 mice. Intestinal atrophy was not observed in G/G mice. Recruitment of intraepithelial lymphocyte, macrophages, and FOX-P3+ cells were observed in G/G, but not in C, G/R, or BSA/BSA mice. This was paralleled by increased acetylcholine release from the myenteric plexus, muscle hypercontractility, and increased active ion transport in G/G mice. Changes in muscle contractility normalized in DQ8 mice after a gluten withdrawal. HLA-DQ6 controls did not exhibit the abnormalities in gut function observed in DQ8 mice. Gluten sensitivity in HLA-DQ8 mice induces immune activation in the absence of intestinal atrophy. This is associated with cholinergic dysfunction and a prosecretory state that may lead to altered water movements and dysmotility. The results provide a mechanism by which gluten could induce gut dysfunction in patients with a genetic predisposition but without fully evolved celiac disease.

Abstract:
Background: Celiac disease is an enteropathy characterized by gluten sensitivity and broad clinical aspect. Has a multifactorial cause and depends on genetic, immunological and environmental factors for its development. The genetic influence is given mostly by the human leukocyte antigens HLA DQ2 and DQ8. Aim: To evaluate the prevalence of human leukocyte antigens DQ2 and DQ8 in three different groups: patients with celiac disease, first-degree relatives and the general population. Method: Retrospective analysis that evaluated serologic and endoscopic data of 74 patients with celiac disease and 109 non-celiac, which were subdivided into two subgroups: non-celiac who had first-degree relatives with celiac and non-celiac who did not. All patients underwent laboratory examination for screening genetic sensitivity given by HLA DQ2 and HLA DQ8 by. Results: The presence of HLA DQ2 and DQ8 was identified in 98,4% of 74 celiac patients, of which 79,7% had only HLA DQ2; 8,1% had only HLA DQ8 and 10,8% had both antigens histocompatibility. In the group of relatives of celiac patients, were included 29 patients; among them, 89,6% had HLA DQ2 and/or DQ8; 76% only the HLA DQ2, 10,3% only HLA DQ8 and 3,4% presented both human leukocyte antigens (HLA). Conclusion: HLA DQ2/DQ8 was present in 98,4% of celiac patients; 89,6% relatives of celiac family and in 55,4% of people from the general population without family celiac.
