Abstract:
Red dragon fruit is one of the agricultural commodities in Simpang Sugiran Village. Dragon fruit has many functions and properties for health. Based on monitoring in the field, farmers do not have the knowledge and skills in processing dragon fruit into various processed dragon fruit products to increase their selling value. In addition, the price of dragon fruit and farmer acceptance continues to decline while the number of farmers cultivating is increasing. The purpose of this activity was to increase community knowledge and skills in processing dragon fruit, and business management to increase the added value of dragon fruit cultivation. The results of community service activities indicated that the diversification of dragon fruit processing is one of the most effective ways to increase community income in the Simpang Sugiran village. Dragon fruit can be processed into various processed products using simple technology and can be done as a home industry. This community service activity can motivate and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of the Farmer Group of Simpang Sugiran, Guguak Sub District, Lima Puluh Kota, West Sumatra.

Green Dragon, White Tiger, Red Phoenix and Black Tortoise constitute four Gods in the ancient China. comprehension of these four Gods is of great help to realize Chinese culture. As the representatives of ancient Chinese gods, these four administer the East, the West, the South and the North respectively. They are always respected and revered by Chinese people, and people take them as the gods to suppress evils. Especially the dragon, it is the god representing the spirit of Chinese nation and also symbolizing the emperors in ancient China. For this reason, the image of four Gods express incomparable role in the traditional Chinese architectural ornament.

Abstract:
Physical activity experiences may contribute to psychological and social wellbeing among breast cancer survivors. The main purpose of the current study was to qualitatively explore the development of social relationships, social support, and posttraumatic growth among breast cancer survivors participating in a dragon boat program over 19 months. Guided by interpretative phenomenological analysis (Smith, Flowers, & Larkin, 2009), semistructured interviews were conducted with 17 breast cancer survivors on five occasions over their first two seasons of dragon boating. Narrative accounts were developed for each participant, and four profiles emerged describing processes of social and posttraumatic growth development over time: “developing a feisty spirit of survivorship,” “I don’t want it to be just about me,” “it’s not about the pink it’s about the paddling,” and “hard to get close.” Profiles were discussed in terms of developing social relationships and support, providing support to others, physicality and athleticism, and negative interactions and experiences.

Abstract:
Twenty-one cultivars of poinsettia [Euphorbia pulcherrima Willd. Ex Klotzsch] were evaluated by respondents who voluntarily completed a paper survey (n=293) at TSU. Rooted cuttings from five major U.S. suppliers were potted and grown during the preceding 4 months according to standard industry practices. Cultivars were displayed without their names for the survey, and respondents were asked to rate each cultivar on a Likert-type scale, where 1=strongly dislike and 5=strongly like. The top eight rated cultivars (mean > 3.9) were all traditional red forms, which included the new cultivar `Red Dragon', followed in descending preference by `Christmas Spirit', `Freedom Red', `Cortez Electric Fire', `Prestige Red', `Premium Red', `Novia Red', and `Candlelight'. For each cultivar, the price respondents indicated they would be willing to pay was highly correlated with the Likert-type scale score. When asked about purchases in the prior year, 89% of respondents bought at least one red poinsettia. Retail outlets and prices paid varied among respondents. Color was by far the most popular criterion respondents used to determine whether they like or dislike a cultivar, followed by foliage and price. Consistent with recent trends for value-added products, consumers indicated that they would be willing to pay significantly more for a purple-painted plant with glitter than for a white-flowered plant that was otherwise of comparable quality. These results suggest that, while red poinsettias continue to dominate the poinsettia market, niche markets exist for unique flower and foliage traits created through breeding and through enhancements such as paint and glitter.

In Rev 16.13–14 we encounter minor characters of the book's diabolic bestiary, ‘three unclean spirits like frogs’ that proceed from the mouths of the Dragon and the two Beasts. This article attempts to understand this detail in relation to the metaphorical connotations other ancient Greek and Jewish writers attributed to frogs: they were mostly connected with silliness and loquaciousness. In this context, the picturesque detail of frog-like demons belongs to John's strategy of reassuring his audiences by ridiculing the Dragon and the Beasts and the powers they represent.

Abstract:This paper embarks from the question why the valuable Islamic ethics cannot be ethos grounded in the nation-state Muslim majority country-including in Indonesia? Phenomena such as the majlis taklim, majlis dhikr, interest pilgrimage exceeds the quota, the Islamic banking activity is equally excited, is real. However, it is not enough. Muslims should master the science, economics, and the strategic role of national politics. Islamic ethics is Dassollen, the Muslims condition is DasSein. ProphetMuḥammad has abled to unite Das sein andDassollenin his life, because Islam hasbecomehis bloodso that he is a mirror and store front of Islampar excellence. Abstract:
This article tries to explore the fundamental values of Confucianism ethics and its influence to the emergence of Capitalism. By using Weber's thesis on the relationship between Protestant ethics and the spirit of capitalism, this paper concludes that the three important values of Confucianism Ethics (ren: benevolence, humaneness, li: rightness, righteousness, and fittingness, and yi: rules of proper conduct, ritual, and rites) are proposing people on how to become good human beings. If the Confucian follows these ethics properly, he/she will get the successful life. Although it is not guaranteed but the Confucianism ethics are still relevant to be practiced in contemporary situation. Some research findings recently showed that Confucianism ethics have really influence people to fulfill the "calling" (Weber's term) and it has also power to increase the spirit of capitalism. The rise of Japan, China, and the four little dragons (including South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore) is related to the development of Confucianism, and it directly brings down Weber's view point, which taught that Confucianism did not have the spirit of capitalism.KeywordsConfucianism Ethics, Confucian, Capitalism

Abstract:
The motion of bacteria in the environment is relevant to several fields. At very small scales and with simple helical shapes, we are able to describe experimentally and mathematically the motion of solid spirals falling freely within a liquid pool. Using these shapes we intend to mimic the motion of bacteria called Spirochetes. We seek to experimentally investigate the linear and the rotational motion of such shapes. A better understanding of the dynamics of this process will be practical not only on engineering and physics, but the bioscience and environmental as well. In the following pages, we explore the role of the shape on the motion of passive solid helixes in different liquids. We fabricate three solid helical shapes and drop them under gravity in water, glycerol and a mixture of 30% glycerol in water. That generated rotation due to helical angle in water. However, we observe the rotation disappear in glycerol. The movement of the solid helical shapes is imaged using a high-speed video camera. Then, the images are analyzed using the supplied software and a computer. Using these simultaneous measurements, we examine the terminal velocity of solid helical shapes. Using this information we computed the drag coefficient and the drag force. We obtain the helical angular velocity and the torque applied to the solid. The results of this study will allow us to more accurately predict the motion of solid helical shape. This analysis will also shed light onto biological questions of bacteria movement.

Abstract:
In this chapter, Neal DeRoo argues that the primary task of Christian philosophy is discerning the “spirit” of the age and not merely offering rational defenses of theism. It begins by articulating the notion of “spirit” (drawn from the later Husserl) that is at work in this chapter. Then it articulates a philosophical anthropology that makes clear how such “spirit” is pre-theoretically operative as a dynamic, religious force in all human action. Next, it argues that discerning, articulating, and clarifying the nature of this “spirit” as it functions in a particular culture or community is the task of Christian philosophy. It ends by showing how diagnosing these spirits of the age is not only an intellectual project, but enables the Christian philosopher to provide a concrete service to the broader Christian community.

Abstract:
This concluding chapter illustrates some of the major ways in which a critical aspect of spirit possession can emerge in texts of the early Christ movement. It does so with the help of appropriate insights drawn from anthropological literature. A starting point here is the effort to treat the “spirits” involved in cases of possession seriously and not merely as mythical and metaphorical representations, as several earlier studies have done. Such a move naturally raises a host of complex questions concerning notions of ontology and agency. After all, the latter's allocation to nonhuman entities does collide with the established modern paradigm of the autonomous human individual as the only rightful possessor of agency.

Abstract:
During Spanish colonization in the Americas, Catholic evangelizers often purposefully consecrated spaces that were already sacred to Indigenous Americans. In many regions, however, Indigenous deities, spirits, ancestors, and their devotees, rebelled. The Pueblo Revolt of 1680 killed and evicted Spaniards while claiming Christian constructions and objects for native usage. Yet the end result of this revolt was not just the re-consecration of sacred spaces to once again welcome Indigenous spirit beings. Rather, in its wake, the line between the pure and the contaminated cannot be neatly drawn; indeed, such sharp distinctions make little sense within Indigenous epistemologies wherein binary opposition is rarely found. Comparative materials from Mesoamerica and the Andes help complicate the commonplace narrative of conquest and resistance.

Abstract:
The denouement of Part 1 might seem disappointing. Greatness of soul, that larger-than-life ancient virtue, enters the Islamic world only to fade away. Yet there was another concept belonging to the same broad family that led a more flourishing life in the Islamic world. This virtue, designated as ‘greatness of spirit’ (ʿiẓam al-himma), appears in philosophical treatises but also in other genres, including mirrors for princes and works of literature (adab). Unlike the first concept, which thematized the right attitude to the self and its merits, this second concept thematizes right desire or aspiration, and some of its architects parse it as a foundational virtue of aspiration to virtue. Part 2 first documents its development in works of a philosophical character, notably Yaḥyā ibn ʿAdī’s and al-Rāghib al-Iṣfahānī’s, before considering its presentation in mirrors for princes. There are interesting comparisons to be drawn between the way the virtue is articulated across different genres, and also suggestive comparisons with approaches familiar from broader philosophical history. These observations invite a question about the origins of the virtue. While the Greek influence cannot be excluded, a stronger argument can be made for the influence of the Persian cultural tradition and, more compellingly, pre-Islamic Arab culture. ‘Greatness of spirit’ was an epithet applied to the Arab hero of pre-Islamic times. This heroic ideal is reconfigured in the Islamic era in important ways. This genealogy allows us to place on new footing the question about the relationship of the ‘virtues of greatness’ to Islamic religious morality.

This chapter explores the strategies used in finance-dominated capitalism to ensure worker compliance with company demands, using mechanisms of fear, hope of external reward, self-evacuation, and the convergence of employee desires with that of the company. It will contrast these strategies, point by point, with the way in which commitment to God is related to more mundane commitments. Attention is drawn to the way Christian commitment imitates at a critical remove the enterprise self of contemporary capitalism.

Abstract:
This co-authored chapter discusses a research project initiated at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London which investigates whether the making of drawn animation can be a mindful practice. The original intention of the project was to explore the potential application of Buddhist principles and practices such as mindfulness within a secular context to benefit art and design students who experience stress in the learning environment, thereby wishing to examine learning processes more closely. The design of the project led to the use of the repetitive, haptic procedures and collaborative processes of drawn animation in combination with short-form mindfulness meditation techniques. The project rests on the wider developments in UK Higher Education that seek to enable students to engage meaningfully with the affective and extra-rational dimensions of learning. The authors conclude that there is scope for more exploration as animation-making is about the analysis of change and awareness of momentary existence.

Abstract:
From the 1880s, W. T. Stead became increasingly interested in spiritualism and telepathy, believing paranormal communications provided proof of an afterlife and support for biblical accounts of angels, spirits, and miracles. Convinced that he possessed paranormal powers, he practiced automatic writing as a form of communication with the spirits of the dead. From 1893 to 1897, he edited the journal Borderland, aimed at promoting and popularizing occult studies. His Letters from Julia, first published in 1897 and claiming to be messages from the afterlife, became an international bestseller. For Stead, the Christian revival movement of 1904–5 was infused with elements of spiritualism and telepathy, and he was drawn to psychological views of religious experience. His ‘Julia’s Bureau’, formed in 1909, was meant to help individuals communicate with the spirits of the dead. While many were critical, Stead embraced spiritualism as supporting religious belief in an increasingly sceptical and secular era.

The loads on both a model of a smooth cable and a helical strake (also known as scrouton spiral) were measured in a wind tunnel. The coefficients of drag, lift and transverse force were ascertained for an angle of attack between 0 and 360 degrees. Results show that the drag coefficient increases by the spiral in each case whereas the lift coefficient changes only insignificantly. A defined transverse force is caused by the spiral. To find an explanation of this force by the circulation a simple mathematical model is given. Finally the behaviour of a twisted rope in water calculated by a known code is predicted in case of steady current.

Abstract:
The slots in spiral antennas induce stress concentrations and hence may adversely affect the load-carrying capacity of the structural antenna. To minimise the detrimental effect of the slots, appropriate fillers are required to provide structural reinforcement without compromising the radar performance of the antenna. This paper presents an investigation of the effects of electrical and mechanical properties of potential filler materials on the performance of slot spiral antennas. Finite element analysis is carried out for a slot spiral that is designed to work in the C-Band range of frequencies (4–8 GHz). Computational simulations performed using commercial software packages ANSYS® and HFSS® show that by using commercially available filler materials the stress concentration factor of the spiral slot can be reduced by 20%. The results from this research enhance the previously introduced advantages of this type of conformal load-bearing antenna structure (CLAS). This CLAS concept provides a promising solution of replacing conventional externally mounted antennas, thus reducing aircraft weight and aerodynamic drag.

The regression model was established according to the results of the end face morphology parameters and the stiffness performance. The equivalent cloud images were drawn by using Matlab software. The response surface method is used to analyze the interaction of the upstream pumping mechanical seal face morphology parameters of the groove depth, spiral angle groove diameter ratio and groove width ratio on the stiffness performance. Finally, the numerical simulation of the mechanical seal micro clearance flow is verified. The results show that spiral groove depth should be between 3 and 10 μm. The liquid film stiffness value is becoming smaller with the increase of the helical angle. The best value is around 16°; The influence of the groove diameter ratio and the groove width ratio to the liquid film stiffness is symmetrical distribution basically. And it is better to take 0.5 and 0.4 respectively.

Abstract:
Inward buckling forces of spiral wound flexible gaskets is studied experimentally and analytically using the finite element method. A series of experiments was conducted utilizing an NPS 16 Class 300 weld-neck pipe and flange conforming to specification ASME B16.5. Strain gauges were mounted on the inner and outer metallic rings of the spiral wound sealing gasket and strain data was recorded during initial bolt pre-loading. Using this particular experiment as a pattern, a finite element model was developed to simulate the flange, bolt, and nonlinear gasket response under identical loading conditions. The computer-generated solid model consists of a quarter-symmetry, three-dimensional assembly constructed to the specifications of the pipe, flange, bolts, and gaskets used in the hardware trials. The finite element model was loaded to simulate the initial bolt pre-loading through the same range as in the original experiment. Solutions obtained from the finite element model are compared with the experimental results, and conclusions are drawn.

Abstract:
The French composer Francis Poulenc had a profound admiration and empathy for the writings of the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca. That empathy was rooted in shared aspects of the artistic temperament of the two figures but was also undoubtedly reinforced by Poulenc’s fellow-feeling on a human level. As someone who wrestled with his own homosexuality and who kept his orientation and his relationships apart from his public persona, Poulenc would have felt an instinctive affinity for a figure who endured similar internal conflicts but who, especially in his later life and poetry, was more open about his sexuality. Lorca paid a heavy price for this refusal to dissimulate; his arrest in August 1936 and his assassination the following day, probably by Nationalist militia, was accompanied by taunts from his killers about his sexuality. Everything about the Spanish poet’s life, his artistic affinities, his personal predilections and even the relationship between these and his death made him someone to whom Poulenc would be naturally drawn and whose untimely demise he would feel keenly and might wish to commemorate musically. Starting with the death of both his parents while he was still in his teens, reinforced by the sudden loss in 1930 of an especially close friend, confidante and kindred spirit, and continuing throughout the remainder of his life with the periodic loss of close friends, companions and fellow-artists, Poulenc’s life was marked by a succession of bereavements. Significantly, many of the dedications that head up his compositions are ‘to the memory of’ the individual named. As Poulenc grew older, and the list of those whom he had outlived lengthened inexorably, his natural tendency towards the nostalgic and the elegiac fused with a growing sense of what might be termed a ‘survivor’s anguish’, part of which he sublimated into his musical works. It should therefore come as no surprise that, during the 1940s, and in fulfilment of a desire that he had felt since the poet’s death, he should turn to Lorca for inspiration and, in the process, attempt his own act of homage in two separate works: the Violin Sonata and the ‘Trois Chansons de Federico García Lorca’. This exposition attempts to unfold aspects of the two men’s aesthetic pre-occupations and to show how the parallels uncovered cast reciprocal light upon their respective approaches to the creative process. It also examines the network of enfolded associations, musical and autobiographical, which link Poulenc’s two compositions commemorating Lorca, not only to one another but also to a wider circle of the composer’s works, especially his cycle setting poems of Guillaume Apollinaire: ‘Calligrammes’. Composed a year after the ‘Trois Chansons de Federico García Lorca’, this intricately wrought collection of seven mélodies, which Poulenc saw as the culmination of an intensive phase in his activity in this genre, revisits some of ‘unheard voices’ and ‘unseen shadows’ enfolded in its predecessor. It may be viewed, in part, as an attempt to bring to fuller resolution the veiled but keenly-felt anguish invoked by these paradoxical properties.
