Rewizja drenu dystalnego zastawki komorowo-przedsionkowej rzadko jest wyzwaniem dla neurochirurga. Jego dysfunkcja związana z procesem zapalnym wiąże się również z ryzykiem powikłań ogólnoustrojowych. W pracy przedstawiono przypadek chorego, u którego po rozejściu się starej rany pooperacyjnej doszło do kolonizacji drenu przedsionkowego. Usunięto go poprzez rewizję prawej żyły szyjnej wewnętrznej. This chapter outlines a new requirements collaboration process to address these issues. This new process is based on work done by Karl Wiegers in his paper Prioritizing Requirements (Wiegers, 1999), and is extended to include a method of proposing alternate requirements, documenting the negotiation of priority among interested parties, and a way to rationally select priority requirements based on an objective measure of their relative merit. The chapter also introduces an application prototype called the Distributed Requirements Collaboration Tool (DRCT) that was built for use by distributed teams to support the requirements negotiation process described above and also to address the issue of capturing rationale as requirements are negotiated. Lastly, the experience using the DRCT is discussed in order to identify priority requirements for a more functional version of the DRCT.

In the quarter century since the collapse of East Germany, the uncountable reflections that flower the media landscape inevitably turn to music. And when they do, they waffle. There is something untimely, and uncanny, about this waffling. It is as if the tensions structuring music's role in the heady days of the late 1960s were being therapeutically replayed twenty years later: 1968 yet again as the fetish object. On the one hand, music here is the fantasmatic sound of revolution itself, of truth speaking to power, and power falling to pieces under the weight of truth's irrefutable audibility, equal parts libido and righteousness. On the other hand, it is the traumatic reminder of failure, and the disenchanting premise that this “society of the spectacle” was not so powerful after all—that the revolution, in merely appearing, failed to show up. Judging from the examples of Hasselhoff, Rostropovich, and Bernstein, this chapter argues that music seems woven perfectly into a master's discourse: a process of shoring up a sovereign, of suturing itself to an empty signifier, producing a split subject, and precipitating an excessive enjoyment in the form of an object of desire.

Chapter 2 focuses on similarities in the ways in which members of Interfaith and the Patriots described their choice to become more active citizens, despite significant differences in their demographic compositions and policy demands. For members of both groups, this process involved waking up, standing up, and speaking up—acts that were described as democratic and sacred responsibilities alike. In justifying their choices and distinguishing them from alternatives, participants in both groups drew loosely on a “civil discourse” that valorized the qualities associated with active citizenship, while critiquing or distancing themselves from fellow citizens who chose not to wake up, stand up and speak up. In the process, they also drew on “civil religious discourse” that infused active citizenship and American democracy itself with sacred significance.

System execution modeling tools permit early prediction of the performance of model-driven systems; however, the focus to date has been on the practical aspects and creating tools that work in specific cases, rather than on the process and methodology applied. In this chapter, the authors present an integrated method to performance analysis and prediction of model-driven DRE defense systems. They present both the tools to support the process and a method to define these tools. The authors explore these tools and processes within an industry case study from a defense context.

Stowe learned from Douglass about the preemptive violence that could be generated through emotional relays and Chapter 2 shows how her second abolitionist novel Dred recasts The Confessions of Nat Turner through her unique use of the mesmeric crisis. That she does so by turning away from her familiar sentimental focus in Uncle Tom’s Cabin tells us something about the shadow archive that she begins to explore after reading “The Heroic Slave.” With its titular pun, Dred attempts to defuse the white fear of black supremacy that came with the legacy of Haiti and the tradition of Denmark Vesey and Nat Turner. In the process Stowe steps beyond her usual resort to personal feeling, with its familiar dyadic structure, to take up the collective and electric properties of the “crisis state” where sentimental distance is collapsed in uncontained transmissions of terror. The influence of Douglass is manifest in Stowe’s reconsideration of the word “thing” and her understanding of the contaminating power of a threat that always comes from the future.

These two were the furthest apart in age, ideology, and importance to the revolutionary process. Gandhi developed the revolutionary strategy and most of the tactics, and he was the undisputed leader of the mass movement. Though they had a close relationship, like uncle and nephew, they diverged widely on several key issues, notably Gandhi’s fasts. Nevertheless, Nehru always drew back from the brink of a schism, and he regularly acceded to Gandhi’s plans. Shortly after independence, Gandhi was assassinated and Nehru led India forward.

This chapter shows how collectives were finally formed after several years of practices that drew people into a process increasingly determined by the authorities and eroded their will and confidence. Although peasants eventually capitulated to the assault on their way of life, in some respects cadres themselves had to capitulate to that way of life in order to win: they had to acknowledge the importance of village status systems, bringing chiaburs into the collectives instead of excluding them. After that, the process went much more quickly. The chapter then surveys some of the social variables that affected patterns of forming the collectives. Among these are religious and ethnic composition, colonization, ecological/economic adaptation, local politics, and historical differences by region.

Focusing on the African American poet and playwright Amiri Baraka (LeRoi Jones), the Introduction explores links between 1950s and 1960s process literature and the Community Action Program. Baraka’s Black Arts Repertory Theatre and School (BARTS) was funded through the War on Poverty, and his version of process art fulfilled the participatory requirements of the Community Action Program. Both Baraka and many welfare activists allied with the Community Action Program also drew on a binary conception of class culture popularized by the post–World War II counterculture and liberal social science. This binary conception produced two figures that alternately incited and frustrated literary and social work efforts to bridge the gap between the middle class and the poor: the juvenile delinquent and the welfare mother.
