The genus Corynoneura Winnertz, 1846 from Zhejiang Province in Oriental China is reviewed. Corynoneura aggeris Fu, sp. n., Corynoneura lateralis Fu, sp. n., Corynoneura petitspectabilis Fu, sp. n., Corynoneura prolata Fu, sp. n., and Corynoneura recta Fu, sp. n. are described and illustrated based on adult males. Corynoneura lobata Edwards, 1924 and Corynoneura tokarapequea Sasa et Suzuki, 1995 are redescribed and illustrated based on newly collected material. A key to known adult males of Corynoneura from Zhejiang Province is given.

The article undertakes the analysis of the receptions of liberty in China on a sample of the translation of John Stuart Mill's “On Liberty” by Yan Fu. It is shown that in the Yan Fu' interpretation of liberty undergoes fundamental semantic changes in accordance with the ideological Chinese traditions, in particular with neo-Confucianism. Major contributions to the Chinese fauna of the Tenuipalpidae were made by Ma En-Pei and his colleagues, who discovered and described over 20 species, Wang Hui-Fu and her colleagues, who described 10 species from China, and Yin Sui-Gong and students, who added five new species. Aquatica, a new genus of aquatic fireflies from mainland China, is described and keyed from males of A. leii (Fu et Ballantyne 2006), A. ficta (Olivier 1909), A. hydrophila (Jeng et al. 2003) and A. lateralis (Motsch. 1860), all transferred from Luciola, and A. wuhana sp. n. from Hubei Province, which is described from adult males and females and larvae. Adult females and larvae are associated for all species. Five species of aquatic fireflies are now recorded from China.

Elatostema tiechangense L.F. Fu, Y.G. Wei & A.K. Monro, a new cave-dwelling species from Yunnan, China is described and illustrated. E. tiechangense is most similar to E. quinquecostatum and E. nanchuanense from which it differs by the stem not being sulcate, the pubescent staminate bracts, the smaller and pubescent staminate receptacle, and the suborbicular, smaller pistillate receptacle. A Global Species Conservation Assessment finds that E. tiechangense is endangered (EN) with extinction.
