Abstract:
California Bearing Ratio (CBR) is an indirect method mostly used to investigate the strength of subgrade material for highway design. The CBR of subgrade materials can be determined from costly and time-taking laboratory or in situ CBR tests. These limitations suggest the need for an easy and low-cost in situ direct method to estimate the CBR of subgrade materials. Dynamic cone penetration (DCP) is easy, quick, and economical in situ test in geotechnical uses. However, the use of DCP test to evaluate the CBR of subgrade material is condition specific i.e., local conditions should be considered

Stabilisation algorithms are commonly used to reduce this problem, in order to carry out measurements such as CBV using the stabilised video. Car-Parronello molecular dynamics simulations of twelve nanosized graphene sheets with a dozen to a hundred carbon atoms are performed using a mixed Gaussian and planewave approach within the frame-work of the density-functional theory. Two different origins for the rippled structure of graphene are found: the thermodynamic vibration of atoms and the local lattice defect. We suggest that the lattice defect, which changes the local atomic bonding state, should be responsible for the intrinsic ripples in graphene sheet. Abstract:
The Mobility in Complex Environments project used unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to identify obstacles and to provide path planning in forward operational locations. The UAS were equipped with remote-sensing devices, such as photogrammetry and lidar, to identify obstacles. The path-planning algorithms incorporated the detected obstacles to then identify the fastest and safest vehicle routes. Future algorithms should incorporate vehicle characteristics as each type of vehicle will perform differently over a given obstacle, resulting in distinctive optimal paths. This study explored the effect of
