Abstract:
A Jeffcott rotor consists of a disc at the centre of an axle supported at its end by bearings. A bolted Jeffcott rotor is formed by two discs, each with a shaft on one side. The discs are held together by spring loaded bolts near the outer edge. When the rotor turns there is tendency for the discs to separate on one side. This effect is more marked if the rotor is unbalanced, especially at resonance speeds. The equations of motion of the system have been developed with four degrees of freedom to include the rotor and bearing movements in the respective axes. These equations which include non-l

Rotor-dynamic stability is a very important subject impacting the design, control, maintenance, and operating safety and reliability of rotary mechanical systems. As rotor-dynamic nonlinearities are significantly more prominent at higher rotary speeds, the demand for better and improved performance achievable through higher speeds has rendered the use of a linear approach for rotor-dynamic analysis both inadequate and ineffective. To establish the fundamental knowledge base necessary for addressing the need, it is essential that nonlinear rotor-dynamic responses indicative of the causes of n

Vibration based forces are unnecessary dynamic forces, which increase the bearing load in addition to unavoidable rotor mass and the external loads of the process. Our method takes the dynamic behaviour into consideration, whereas previous studies only consider the static behaviour. This was done by recording performance monitor counters (PMC) events from a reference application. The magnetic field within electrical machines causes an interaction between the electrical and mechanical dynamics of the system. In the simplest cases, when the rotor mean position is central in the stator, the interaction manifests itself mainly as a negative stiffness between the rotor and the stator. When the rotor mean position is offset relative to the stator, then components of force arise whose frequency in the stationary frame is twice the electrical frequency of the supply. Under competitive pressures of the high-speed developing industry, one of necessary skills for designers is to effectively utilize Computing Auxiliary Engineering (CAE) to shorten the period of design and analysis in order to finish the prototype earlier and raise the productivity. In this article, the use of CAE on design and analy

Abstract:
The present work deals with the study of stresses in viscoelastic rotor which are dynamic in nature. Due to internal damping of the rotor material, dynamic characteristics get affected and hence it is studied to understand the behavior in terms of Campbell plot, mode shapes etc. This study starts with modelling of beam, where viscoelastic material was considered. The solution for time domain was obtained through state space approach. For discretizing the continuum finite element method is used based on Euler Bernoulli beam theory. Then stresses were found for cantilever beam. This modelling wa

碩士
淡江大學
航空太空工程學系
89
For a rotor blade in forward flight, a high angle of attack often is encountered in normal operating conditions. If the angle of attack of the blade sections becomes large enough, dynamic stall may occur. Typically, this occurs on the retreating blade. In a hovering rotor, the dynamic stall may occur on blade tip area due to its abrupt motion. At this area, a large hysteresis in the force can arise and lead to a negative pitch damping. This aerodynamic nonlinearity then must be considered. In this research, a new three-dimensional dynamic wa
