Abstract:
In humans, the capacity to extract meaning from another person’s behavior is fundamental to social competency. Adults recognize emotions conveyed by body movements with comparable accuracy to when they are portrayed in facial expressions. While infancy research has examined the development of facial and vocal emotion processing extensively, no prior study has explored infants’ perception of emotion from body movements. The current studies examined the development of emotion processing from body gestures. In Experiment 1, I asked whether 6.5-month-olds infants would prefer to view emotional ver

Protein domain movements are of critical importance for understanding macromolecular function, but little is understood about how they are controlled, their energetics, and how to characterize them into meaningful descriptions for the purpose of understanding their relation to function. Here we have developed new methods for this purpose based on changes in residue contacts between domains. The main tool used is the “Dynamic Contact Graph” which in one static graph depicts changes in contacts between residues from the domains. The power of this method is twofold: first the graphs allow one to

The effect of variation in refractive error upon eye movements has not received the same attention in the literature as the sensory aspect. Axial length varies considerably with refractive error [3-8]. Subjects with myopia have been found to have considerably larger eyes, with a longer axial length and lower ocular rigidity [3-5
