Abstract:
Autor: Filip Strakoš Title: Evaluation of dynamic postural stability of rugby players Objective: The aim of this work is to find out how is the dynamic postural stability of rugby players different from the dynamic postural stability of healthy population with regular physical activity that does not perform rugby. Methods: In my diploma thesis I use the computer posturograph NeuroCom Smart EquiTest to record and measure dynamic postural stability. This device mainly focuses on examinations with the possibility of subsequent therapy of mainly functional disorders in the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, sensory and vestibular apparatus. Seven rugby players from the Prague club RC Praga were selected for the research. The players were 18-34 years old. The original number of probands was 20, but due to the pandemic situation, less players were involved in the research overall. The measurement took place in October 2020 in the laboratory of the Department of Physiotherapy at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University. SMART EquiTest includes the following standardized evaluation protocols Sensory Organization Test (SOT), Motor Control Test (MCT), Adaptation Test (ADT), Limits of Stability (LOS), Rhythmic Weight Shift (RWS), Weight Bearing Squat (WBS), Unilateral Stance (US). Autor: Marek Zámečník Title: Evaluation of the dynamic postural stability of extraleague players of Czech rugby Objective: The aim of this work is to evaluate the dynamic postural stability of extraleague players of Czech rugby and to compare its quality with the common population, occasional athletes and non-rugby players. Methods: Measurements will be performed on the NeuroCom® EquiTest® device, which I had available at the Kinesiology laboratory at the UK FTVS. There was tested 20 subjects divided into 2 groups by 10 people. First group of rugby players and the second group of non-rugby players. The age of all subjects ranges from 20 to 35 years. Results: There are no statistically significant differences in measured values. Most of the mean values of all stability tests (SOT, MCT, HS-SOT) have shown that rugby have a reduced ability to provide dynamic postural stability. Average scores for visual acuity testing have shown poor results in rugby, which may be caused by frequent injuries of head, face and eyes. The thesis "Judging the influence of constitutional hypermobility on postural stability" focuses on the problem of constitutional hypermobility (CH) and the influence of joint instability on stability mechanisms. The aim of the research was to find out whether there is a difference in stability mechanisms with tested subjects with CH and without it. Furthermore, the research focuses on the influence of mobility techniques on postural stability by the means of chosen tests carried out on Balance Master® System platform. The tested sample includes 14 women aged from 20 to 28, 7 women with constitutional hypermobility and 7 women as a control group. 6 tests were chosen for the measurement on Balance Master® platform. 2 static tests: modified Clinical Test of Sensory Interaction on Balance (mCTSIB), Unilateral Stance (US), and 4 dynamic tests: Limits of Stability (LOS), Rhytmic weight shift (RWS), Step Up Over (SUO) a Forward Lunge (FL). We compared the medians of output values of individual tests. It was assumed that subjects with KH would have significantly worse test results than the control group. Furthermore, it was supposed that the mobilization processes cause stability disturbance on the basis of cancellation of compensational , thus protective block in comparison with KS. Abstract:
In this thesis, we have been dealing with the evaluation of progressing of the postural stability in the patients after the operation of the vestibular schwannoma (VS). The stability was evaluated by means of stabilometric parameters (COP trajectory length, COP confidence ellipse area). We measured the development of the parameters before operation, immediately after resection and before the discharge. The set contained 17 patients (n = 17). The level of static importance we determined p ≤ 0,05. We found a statistically significant difference between the measurement before the operation and the measurement immediately after the operation (COP confidence ellipse area: p = 0,0183, COP trajectory length: p = 0,0355). On the other hand, the change in both parameters in the measurement before the discharge and the testing after the resection wasn't statistically significant (COP confidence ellipse area: p = 0,4081, COP trajectory length: p = 0,9991). Our next goal was to find out if the stability fault correlates with the disorder of function VOR. We testing the function of t-VOR by the subjective visual vertical (SVV) (n = 24), the function of the r-VOR by the dynamic visual acuity (DVA) (n = 28) and the caloric test (n = 21).
