Abstract:
The incidence of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dislocation in anaesthesia is poorly reported. Patients with a history of TMJ dislocation, algodysfunctional syndrome of the mandatory apparatus or retro mandibular facial dysmorphosis are predisposed to this complication. We report a case of TMJ dislocation, diagnosed just after a general anaesthesia for a vicious callus of a humeral palette fracture in a patient without risk factors for this dislocation. The patient had a normal pre-anaesthetic clinical exam. The clinical diagnosis is simple. Its reduction is an emergency which can be performed

Objective: This study investigates the effects of ginger on sperm dysmorphosis under heat stress using network pharmacology and molecular docking techniques. Methods: The core components, target sites, and primary pathways of ginger were predicted using the TCMSP database. Genes associated with sperm malformation and heat stress were identified through databases such as GeneCards and DisGeNET, followed by KEGG and GO analyses based on intersections with ginger targets. Core genes identified via Cytoscape software were subjected to molecular docking with ginger’s active components. Results: The

A short lingual frenulum has been associated with difficulties in sucking, swallowing and speech. The oral dysfunction induced by a short lingual frenulum can lead to oral-facial dysmorphosis, which decreases the size of upper airway support. Such progressive change increases the risk of upper airway collapsibility during sleep.Clinical investigation of the oral cavity was conducted as a part of a clinical evaluation of children suspected of having sleep disordered breathing (SDB) based on complaints, symptoms and signs. Systematic polysomnographic evaluation followed the clinical examination.

Introduction: Obstructive Syndrom Apnea (OSA) has a worldwide incidence of 0.3 to 5%, predominantly in men. This pathology causes an obstruction of the upper airway with a significant risk of asphyxia and sudden death. The objective of our study was to report the case of a patient with OSA treated in Dento-Facial Orthopedics. Observation: This was a 41-year-old man with risk factors for OSA, dento-arch dysmorphosis, and maxillo-mandibular bone deformity. The nasofibroscopy revealed a narrowed oropharynx, an airway obstruction in the supine position. The polysomnography concluded to the diagnos

Abstract:
Cleft lip and palate is the most frequent congenital oral dysmophosis (1/600 births). They can be associated with polyformative syndromes. The aetiology is most often unknown, but heredity is still a predominant factor. These clefts result from an absence or insufficient fusion of the different facial buds occurring from the fifth to the 7th week of intrauterine life. They can have several forms. The treatment of cleft lip and palate requires multidisciplinary management. When orthodontics is lacking, the prosthesis takes over. Combined with maxillofacial surgery, the results are spectacular.

Methods The NMRI mouse embryos were exposed in utero to either a single dose of 2 Gy X-irradiation on day 9 of gestation (113 embryos) or to 1.5 mg methyl-triazene administered orally to their pregnant mothers on gestational day 10.5 (124 embryos). An additional group of 108 embryos was used as controls. Digitized pictures of embryos from gestational days 14 to 17 were taken in lateral right view using a video system. Landmark

To date, for the diagnosis of dentofacial dysmorphosis, we have relied almost entirely on reference points, planes, and angles. This is time consuming, and it is also greatly influenced by the skill level of the practitioner. To solve this problem, we wanted to know if deep neural networks could predict postoperative results of orthognathic surgery without relying on reference points, planes, and angles. We use three-dimensional point cloud data of the skull of 269 patients. The proposed method has two main stages for prediction. In step 1, the skull is divided into six parts through the segme
