Abstract:
Levothyroxine suppression therapy (LST) can cause some unfavorable effects on the cardiovascular system in patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC). The aim of this study was to evaluate ventricular arrhythmia predictors based on electrocardiography (ECG) in patients with DTC with LST. The ECG parameters including QT, corrected QT (QTc), Tp-e intervals, Tp-e/QT, and Tp-e/QTC ratios of 265 patients with DTC who met the inclusion criteria were compared with 100 controls. No difference was observed in the number of patients with DTC and controls with prolonged and borderline QTc interval ( P = .273). Tp-e interval, Tp-e/QT, and Tp-e/QTc ratios were significantly higher in patients ( P = .002, P = .02, P = .003; respectively). Linear regression analysis suggested that male gender was a predictor of higher Tp-e interval, Tp-e/QT, and Tp-e/QTc ratios (β = 4.322, R 2 = 0.024, P = .042; β = 0.016, R 2 = 0.048, P = .005; β = 0.015, R 2 = 0.044, P = .006, respectively). A higher serum fT4 level was found to be associated with a higher Tp-e/QT ratio (β = 0.018, R 2 = 0.089, P = .007). Ventricular arrhythmia indicators were found to be higher in patients with DTC with LST. Defining ventricular arrhythmia predictors through ECG, an easily accessible cardiac diagnostic tool, can be potentially useful in raising awareness of the possible cardiac harm of LST.

Abstract:
Neste trabalho são apresentados os resultados do mapeamento geológico na escala 1:50.000 de uma área de 100 km2 na Bacia de Jatobá, ao norte do município de Inajá, interior do estado de Pernambuco, Nordeste do Brasil. As unidades estratigráficas possuem grande similaridade litológica, demandando a realização de estudos detalhados para sua distinção. As análises petrográficas permitiram o acompanhamento das transições litológicas e granulométricas dos sistemas deposicionais que configuram as fases sinéclise, início e clímax de rifte. Os estudos bioestratigráficos possibilitaram a identificação de seis biozonas de ostracodes para a bacia estudada: RT-001 (Formação Aliança), RT-003 (Formação Candeias) e RT-004 a RT-007 (Grupo Ilhas), determinando o posicionamento biocronoestratigráfico das unidades com base em ostracodes não-marinhos nos andares Dom João (Tithoniano), Rio da Serra (Berriasiano-Hauteriviano), Aratu (Hauteriviano-Eobarremiano) e Buracica (Barremiano). Os dados obtidos resultaram na atualização da carta estratigráfica da Bacia de Jatobá.

Abstract:
Purpose Long-term survivors of childhood Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) are at risk for cardiopulmonary complications and CNS stroke, although neurocognitive function has not been previously examined. The aim of this study was to examine neurocognitive and brain imaging outcomes in adult survivors of childhood HL. Patients and Methods In all, 62 adult survivors (mean age, 42.2 years; standard deviation [SD], 4.77; mean age at diagnosis, 15.1 years; SD, 3.30) were identified by stratified random selection from a large cohort treated with either high-dose (≥ 30 Gy) thoracic radiation (n = 38) or lower-dose (< 30 Gy) thoracic radiation combined with anthracycline (n = 24). Patients underwent neurocognitive evaluations, brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), echocardiograms, pulmonary function tests, and physical examinations. Results Compared with national age-adjusted norms, HL survivors demonstrated lower performance on sustained attention (P = .004), short-term memory (P = .001), long-term memory (P = .006), working memory (P < .001), naming speed (P < .001), and cognitive fluency (P = .007). MRI revealed leukoencephalopathy in 53% of survivors, and 37% had evidence of cerebrovascular injury. Higher thoracic radiation dose was associated with impaired cardiac diastolic function (E/E′; ratio of peak mitral flow velocity of early rapid filling [E] to early diastolic velocity of the mitral annulus [E′]; P = .003), impaired pulmonary function (diffusing capacity of lungs for carbon monoxide [DLcocorr; P = .04), and leukoencephalopathy (P = .02). Survivors with leukoencephalopathy demonstrated reduced cognitive fluency (P = .001). Working memory impairment was associated with E/E′, although impaired sustained attention and naming speed were associated with DLcocorr. Neurocognitive performance was associated with academic and vocational functioning. Conclusion These results suggest that adult long-term survivors of childhood HL are at risk for neurocognitive impairment, which is associated with radiologic indices suggestive of reduced brain integrity and which occurs in the presence of symptoms of cardiopulmonary dysfunction.

P-selectin, E-selectin, and mean platelet volume are markers associated with platelet reactivity that have been demonstrated to be increased in diabetes. We were particularly interested to see if there was a difference in mean platelet volume and selectins between diabetics and nondiabetics, and in diabetics with and without nephropathy, and whether there was a correlation between mean platelet volume and selectins. One hundred and fourteen diabetic patients and 31 healthy controls were investigated. Plasma levels of P-selectin and E-selectin were higher in the diabetic group than in controls ( P = .001 and P = .007, respectively) and in diabetic patients with proteinuria than in patients without proteinuria ( P = .002 and P = .004, respectively). Protein excretion was lower in patients with low mean platelet volume values ( P = .004). In conclusion, elevated platelet volume and high selectin values may play a role in the development of vasculopathies and complications in diabetes mellitus. Further studies are needed to prove these results.

Objectives.To compare risk factors, clinical features, and outcomes in patients withEnterococcus avium,Enterococcus casseliflavus,Enterococcus durans,Enterococcus gallinarum, andEnterococcus mundtiibacteremia (cases) with those in patients withEnterococcus faecalisbacteremia (controls).Design.A retrospective case-control study.Setting.A 725-bed, university-affiliated, academic medical center.Patients.The clinical microbiology database at Northwestern Memorial Hospital from January 1994 to May 2003 was searched to identify cases; each case was matched to one control on the basis of date of admission.Results.Thirty-three cases were identified and matched with 33 controls. The mean duration of hospital stay was longer (29.7 vs 17.2 days;P= .03) and the mean time to acquisition of bacteremia was greater (16.5 vs 6.3 days;P= .003) for cases than controls. Cases were more likely to have underlying hematologic malignancies (P< .001), to have been treated with corticosteroids (P= .02), and to be neutropenic (P= .003). Controls were more likely to have an indwelling bladder catheter (P= .01), and cases were more likely to have the gastrointestinal tract as a source of infection (P= .007) and to have concurrent cholangitis (P= .002). There were no differences in severity of illness or in mortality rates.Conclusions.Compared with patients withE. faecalisbacteremia, patients with non-E. faecalis, non-Enterococcus faeciumenterococcal bacteremia were more likely to have a hematologic malignancy, prior treatment with corticosteroids, neutropenia, and cholangitis; longer duration of hospital stay was also identified as a clinical feature. However, non-E. faecalis, non-E. faeciumspecies are not associated with any differences in mortality.

In this work, the strong correlation between the structural and magnetic properties in systems of reduced dimensionality is explored. Particularly, the magnetic properties of epitaxially grown ultrathin films and coupled layers, as a function of their constitution, thickness, structure and temperature, are studied. The investigated systems illustrate that perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in thin films can be achieved via tetragonal distortion or perpendicular exchange coupling. Specifically, Fe films grown on Rh(001) are examined, with emphasis both on their spin reorientation transition and on a complex magnetic structure existing at the first Fe monolayer. Contrasted to Fe/Rh(001), Ni films grown on Rh(001) and on Pd(001) are studied, highlighting the reverse spin reorientation transition and the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy originating from the large tetragonally distorted structure created by epitaxy. Concurrently, the indication of induced moments in the Pd(001) substrate in this system is also considered. Additionally, Ni films grown on Pd(001) covered with CoO antiferromagnetic layers are explored, emphasizing the effect of exchange coupling on their magnetic perpendicular anisotropy. Finally, the system consisting of a CoO single layer grown directly on Pd(001) is investigated, highlighting the indication of a ferromagnet under-layer, induced in the Pd(001) substrate by the CoO antiferromagnetic layer.
Neste trabalho, a forte correlação entre a estrutura e as propriedades magnéticas de sistemas de dimensionalidade reduzida, é explorada. Em particular, as propriedades magnéticas de filmes e camadas acopladas epitaxiais, em função de sua constituição, espessura, estrutura e temperatura são investigadas. Os sistemas investigados exemplificam que a anisotropia magnética perpendicular em filmes finos pode ser alcançada via distorção tetragonal ou pelo acoplamento de troca perpendicular. Especificamente, filmes de Fe crescidos em Rh(001) são investigados com ênfase em sua transição de reorientação de spin e em uma estrutura magnética complexa presente na primeira monocamada de Fe. Em contraste com Fe/Rh(001), filmes de Ni crescidos em Rh(001) e em Pd(001) são estudados destacando-se a transição de reorientação de spin reversa e a anisotropia magnética perpendicular, com origem na estrutura tetragonal distorcida criada por epitaxia. Concorrentemente, a indicação de momentos magnéticos induzidos no substrato de Pd(001) nesse sistema também é considerada. Além disso, filmes de Ni crescidos em Pd(001), cobertos com camadas de CoO antiferromagnéticas, são exploradas dando ênfase no efeito de acoplamento de troca em sua anisotropia magnética perpendicular. Por fim, o sistema constituído de uma camada de CoO, crescida diretamente em Pd(001), é investigado, destacando-se a indicação de uma camada ferromagnética induzida no substrato de Pd(001) pela camada antiferromagnética de CoO.

Abstract:
Estudamos a adsorção de Te em superfícies de GaAs(001) e InAs(001) com periodicidades 1x1, 1x2, 2x1 e 2x2, para as concentrações de telúrio Tc= 0, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 e 1. Realizamos cálculos dentro do formalismo do funcional da densidade empregando pseudopotenciais de norma conservada. Para a relaxação das estruturas empregamos a dinâmica molecular de Car e Parrinello. Nossos resultados apontam para uma redução na estabilidade das superfícies na proporçã em que aumenta a concentração de Te na uperfície. A cobertura de As (Tc = 0) é energeticamente mais favorável que as recobertas com qualquer concentração de Te, tanto na superfície de GaAs(001) quanto na de InAs(001). Observouse ainda nas superfícies com Tc = 0 Tc = 1, que a dimerização dos átomos de As e da ordem de 30% mais intensa que dos átomos e Te. Comparando as dimerizações do Te nas superfícies com concentrações Tc 1/2, observamos que elas são maiores sobre o InAs(001) (célula terminada em In) que sobre o GaAs(001) terminada em Ga). Outra tendência verificada e a \"flutuação\" do Te sobre as superfícies. Para uma mesma concentração verificamos a \"preferência de adsorção\" em sítios fora da cadeia de dímeros indicando uma adsorção monoatômica. Para concentração Tc = 1 na superfície GaAs(001):Te2x2 observamos duas geometrias possíveis: uma com cadeias de dímeros seguindo o modelo \"dimerrowmissing\" e outra com dois tipos de dímeros em posições alternadas ao longo da dir~ao (110). Analisando as energias de adsorção nas duas superfícies verificamos que a adsorção sobre o InAs é mais favorável que sobre o GAs. Analisamos ainda a estrutura eletrônica das superfícies em todas as reconstruções e concentrações consideradas e verificamos anda o caráter semicondutor das superfícies com concentração Tc = 1/2.
We have carried out ab initio density functional calculations to investigate the adsorption of Te on GaAs(001) and lnAs(001) surfaces as a function of Te surface coverage: Tc = 0, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1. In order to determine the equilibrium atomic positions, the geometry was relaxed according he calculated total energy and forces following the Car Parrinello approach for molecular dynamics. Our calculations indicate that a full monolayer of As (Tc = 0) is energetically more favourable than any of the studied coverage of Te (Tc = 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1), where the stability is educed with increasing Te coverage. The dimerization of surface As atoms is about 30% more intense than surface Te atoms. Comparing the Te dimerization on InAs(001), In terminated, and aAs(OOI), Ga terminated, we observed that the Te atoms dimerize more over lnAs than GaAs surface. Another observation is the tendency of the Te atoms to \'l1oat\" from the surface with increasing coverage. For the same concentrations of Te the atoms \"prefer\" to be adsorbed on the offchain sites indicating a monoatomic adsorption. The adsorption energy of Te on InAs(001) is more favorable than GaAs(001). We also determined the surface band structure for all reconstructions and Te concentrations, veryfying the semiconductor nature for Tc = 1/2.

Resumo: Neste trabalho foram estudados filmes finos de MoAs crescidos por epitaxia de feixe molecular em substratos de GaAs (001). As propriedades magnéticas destas hetero-estruturas (filme magnético sobre um substrato semicondutor) são fortemente dependentes das propriedades estruturais do filme de MoAs que foram estudadas detalhadamente utilizando técnicas de difração de raios-x no Laboratório Nacional de Luz Síncrotron. Dentre os principais resultados estão a identificação de uma temperatura de ordenamento magnético maior do que os valores para o MnAs massivo, em filmes com acomodações cristalinas onde o eixo-c está inclinado em relação ao plano (001) do substrato. Também foi realizado um estudo detalhado da variação do parâmetro de rede com a temperatura em torno da transição de fase magnética. Este estudo permitiu determinar a evolução das tensões elásticas presentes no filme de MoAs durante a transição onde em um intervalo em torno de 30°C acontece uma coexistência de fases cristalinas pela formação de faixas periódicas com regiões alternadas de a -MnAs (hexagonal) e ,b -MnAs (ortorrômbico). Também se encontrou que os parâmetros de rede contidos no plano do filme se comportam de forma bem diferente. Enquanto que o parâmetro que corresponde ao eixo-c hexagonal não varia muito durante a transição o outro parâmetro de rede contido no filme aumenta fortemente com a temperatura. Estes estudos complementaram medidas magnéticas com efeito Kerr magnéto-óptico simultâneas às medidas estruturais, assim como às medidas por difração de raios-x com aplicação de campo magnéticos de até 3 kOe
Abstract: Thin films ofMnAs grown by molecular beam epitaxy on GaAs (001) were studied by X-ray diffraction. The magnetic properties of a thin film of MnAs are strongly affected by the elastic tensions ofthe film accomodation over the semiconductor substrate and were studied by X-ray diffraction techniques at the Brazilian National Synchrotron Laboratory .It was found that the Curie temperature for the MnAs film is dependent on the type of crystal accomodation over the substrate. In particular for a MnAs accomodation with a tilted hexagonal c-axis with respect to the GaAs (00 1) plane, the transition temperature becomes higher than the value for MnAs bulk. A detailed analysis ofthe evolution ofthe lattice parameters through the transition temperature was performed. These results contribute to the understanding of the phase coexistence in the film through more than 30°C where periodic stripes of a -MnAs (hexagonal) and b-MnAs (orthorhombic) are formed to reduce the elastic tension of the film during this first order magnetic transition. It was found that while the hexagonal c-axis lattice parameter almost does not change during the phase transition, the in-plane lattice parameter perpendicular to the c-axis strongly increases with increasing temperature. These structural results complement magnetization measurements using an in situ magneto-optical Kerr effect setup and also structural measurements under applied magnetic fields up to 3 kOe

Este trabalho trata da determinação da estrutura atômica de dois sistemas específicos. O primeiro consistiu de um filme de FeO monocristalino de 22 monocamadas de espessura crescido em substrato de Ag na direção [001]. A análise estrutural foi feita através da difração de elétrons de baixa energia (LEED) e mostrou uma superfície (001) com parâmetro de rede igual ao que é esperado para a estrutura volumétrica do óxido, mas com um pequeno desnível (rumple) dos átomos da superfície (3.9% do parâmetro de rede) com os átomos de oxigênio movendo para fora do cristal. O segundo sistema estudado envolveu as reconstruções c(8x2) e c(4x4) da face (001) do composto semicondutor InSb, bem como a adsorção de átomos de paládio sobre a superfície. Para esses estudos foi usada a difração de fotoelétrons (PED) e XPS. Devido à necessidade de longo tempo para a realização dos cálculos não foi possível chegar a um resultado conclusivo sobre as estruturas examinadas e assim, apenas uma análise parcial dos dados experimentais é apresentada.

The anti-inflammatory drugs available in the market, anti-inflammatory non steroidal and steroidal, are widely used, are effective but are still far from being ideal drugs because they have several side effects (eg. gastrointestinal, renal, etc.). In this paper, two new molecules synthesized by the Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry Pharmaceutical-UFG LQFM-015 and LQFM-002, are evaluated for their ability antiinflammatory and antinociceptive. Previous studies have shown inhibitory activity on phospholipase A2 of LQFM-015 and LQFM-002. LQFM-015 was synthesized from the metabolite 4-nerolidylcathecol, which also inhibits the enzyme phospholipase A2 (PLA2). In this study, treatment with LQFM-015 (100, 200 and 400 μmol/kg, p.o.) reduced the writhings numbers, but without alters the parameters of open field, rotarod and in the barbituric-induced sleep test. The antinociceptive action was confirmed in the second phase (inflammatory pain) on formalin-induced pain test, whereas the three doses (100, 200 and 400 μmol/kg, p.o.) reduced the time used for reactivity to pain. Treatment with LQFM-015 (100, 200 and 400 μmol/kg, p.o) also reduced edema in rat paw edema model in mice. This anti-inflammatory activity was confirmed by the decreased the cell migration (26%) and the activity of the enzyme myeloperoxidase (56%) with LQFM-015 (155 μmol/kg, p.o.) in the pleurisy model in mice. LQFM-002 is a derivative of pyrazole that in previous studies was capable of reducing PLA2 activity in vitro, reducing cell migration and the concentration of Evans blue in pleural exudate. In this study we evaluated the anti-inflammatory and/or the antinociceptive activity LQFM-002 in vivo. In the model of pain induced by acetic acid treatment (LQFM-002 200 μmol/kg, p.o.) reduced the number of writhing and pain reactivity in the test of pain induced by formalin in the first and second phase. Treatments with LQFM-002 (400 and 800 μmol/kg, p.o.) increased the pain latency in hot plate, also showed changes in the parameters of open field suggestive of an anxiolytic action. In the barbituric-induced sleep LQFM-002 800 μmol/kg, p.o., increased the sleep time is in agreement with an anxiolytic action seen in the open field, but without alters the parameters rota-rod test. Treatment with LQFM-002 reduced the concentration of TNF-α by approximately 25% when compared with vehicle group. The antiinflammatory action of this molecule may be due to reduction of TNF-α. In conclusion LQFM-015 showed anti-inflammatory action that may be related to the reduction of myeloperoxidase activity and LQFM-002 had an anti-inflammatory action possibly due decreased in the levels of TNF-α and analgesic activity involving central mechanisms.
Os medicamentos anti-inflamatórios disponíveis no mercado, não esteróidais e esteróidais, apesar de muito utilizados e eficazes ainda estão longe de serem os medicamentos ideais por possuírem vários efeitos adversos (ex. distúrbios gastrointestinais, renais etc.). No presente trabalho duas novas moléculas sintetizadas pelo Laboratório de Química Farmacêutica Medicinal-UFG, LQFM-002 e LQFM-015, foram avaliadas quanto à suas atividades anti-inflamatória e antinociceptiva. Estudos anteriores mostraram a atividade de LQFM-002 e LQFM-015 na inibição da atividade da enzima PLA2 in vitro. LQFM-015 foi sintetizada a partir do metabólito 4- nerolidilcatecol, que também inibe a enzima fosfolipase A2 (PLA2). No presente estudo o tratamento com LQFM-015 (100, 200 e 400 μmoL/kg, v.o.) reduziu as contorções abdominais, não alterou os parâmetros observados no campo aberto, não demonstrou ação relaxante e/ou perda de coordenação motora no teste de rota rod e não apresentou ação depressora no sistema nervoso central no teste de sono barbitúrico. A ação antinociceptiva foi confirmada na segunda fase (dor nflamatória) do teste de dor induzida pela formalina, visto que, as três doses (100, 200 e 400 μmoL/kg, v.o.) utilizadas reduziram o tempo de reatividade a dor. O tratamento com LQFM-015 (100,200 e 400 μmoL/kg, v.o.) também reduziu o edema no modelo de edema de pata em camundongos. Esta ação anti-inflamatória foi confirmada com a redução da migração celular (em 26 %) e da atividade da enzima mieloperoxidase (em 56 %) com LQFM-015 (155 μmoL/kg, v.o.) no modelo de pleurisia em camundongos. LQFM-002 é um derivado pirazólico que em estudos anteriores foi capaz de reduzir a atividade da PLA2 in vitro, reduzir a migração celular e a concentração de azul de Evans em exsudato pleural. Neste trabalho avaliou-se a atividade anti-inflamatória e/ou antinociceptiva de LQFM-002 in vivo. No modelo de dor induzido por ácido acético, o tratamento com LQFM-002 (200 μmoL/kg, v.o) foi capaz de reduzir o número de contorções abdominais e o tempo de reatividade à dor no teste de dor induzido pela formalina na primeira e na segunda fase. Os tratamentos com LQFM-002 (400 e 800 μmoL/kg, v.o.) aumentaram o tempo de latência à dor na placa quente, e mostraram alterações nos parâmetros do campo aberto sugestivo de uma ação ansiolítica. No teste de sono induzido por pentobarbital, o tratamento com LQFM-002 800 μmoL/kg, v.o potencializou o tempo de sono induzido por pentobarbital, aumentou a movimentação do animal no campo aberto e no rota Rota-rod não houve alterações sugestivas de ação relaxante muscular e/ ou perda de coordenação motora. O tratamento com LQFM-002 foi capaz de reduzir a concentração de TNF-α em aproximadamente 25 %, quando comparado ao grupo tratado com veículo. A ação anti-inflamatória desta molécula pode ser devida a redução de TNF-α. Em conclusão, LQFM-015 apresentou uma ação anti-inflamatória que pode estar relacionada com a redução da atividade da mieloperoxidase e LQFM-002 teve uma ação anti-inflamatória possivelmente devido à redução dos níveis de TNF-α e atividade analgésica que envolve mecanismos centrais.

This work introduces a research conducted in a large hospitality/tourism organization situated in an interior city of the State of Goias. The study main goal was to collect data on the employees perception towards the environmental management within the company they worked for. As specific goal, this research intended to collect data on the motives, goals, functioning and management of environmental programs, emphasizing the ISO 14 000 certification. It is a case study with an exploratory character using a documental analysis and a semi-structured interview as research instruments and the Silvia Lane´s speech analysis technique. Sixteen employees were individually interviewed, being three of them coordinators of the environmental management program and thirteen working on different sectors of the company. Among the authors who provided the theoretical basis to this work are Maimon and Donaire with focus on the NR 14 000. Through a graphic analysis of this study participants speech, it is possible to note a manipulation of the environmental management program during its implementation. The results of this investigation suggested that in the employees perception, the environmental management program within this organization did not generate changes within the workplace environment. They have affirmed their lack of knowledge of its practice and main concepts. It was also possible to analyze the need for actions to reach out and touch the employees, for even the higher administration members had showed no knowledge of the environmental management actions developed within this company. The initiative to adopt an environmental management program results from commercial interests.
Este trabalho apresenta uma que pesquisa foi realizada em uma organização do segmento de hotelaria e turismo de grande porte, localizada no interior do Estado de Goiás. O objetivo geral do estudo foi levantar dados a respeito da percepção dos trabalhadores sobre a gestão ambiental na organização onde trabalham. Teve por objetivo específico, levantar dados sobre motivos, objetivos, funcionamento e gerenciamento de programas de gestão ambiental, enfocando a certificação ISO 14 000. Trata-se de um estudo de caso de caráter exploratório, cujos instrumentos de coleta de dados foram a análise documental e a entrevista semiestruturada, tendo como técnica a análise do discurso de Silvia Lane. As entrevistas foram realizadas individualmente com 16 trabalhadores, três deles coordenadores do programa de gestão ambiental e treze trabalhadores que atuavam em diversos setores da organização. Entre os autores que embasaram teoricamente este trabalho, estão Maimon e Donaire com foco central nas NR 14 000. Por meio da análise gráfica do discurso dos participantes deste estudo percebe-se manipulação do programa de gestão ambiental durante sua implantação, tal atitude ocorre em conseqüência de interesses comerciais da organização. Os resultados obtidos nesta investigação sugerem que, conforme na percepção dos trabalhadores, o programa de gestão ambiental nesta organização, não gerou mudanças no ambiente de trabalho. Os trabalhadores relataram que desconhecem seu funcionamento e os principais conceitos. Foi igualmente possível analisar a necessidade de realização de ações para conscientização e sensibilização do público interno em geral, visto que nem mesmo os membros da cúpula demonstraram conhecimento das ações de gestão ambiental desenvolvidas nesta organização. A iniciativa de adotar um programa de gestão ambiental decorre de interesses comerciais.

Resumo: Nesta dissertação de mestrado é apresentado um estudo detalhado do comportamento magnético anisotrópico de epicamadas de MnAs crescidas por feixe de epitaxia molecular sobre substratos de GaAs(001) e GaAs(111)B, Medidas de magnetização à temperatura ambiente revelaram que as epicamadas de MnAs tem uma forte anisotropia magnética. No caso das epicamadas MnAs/GaAs(001), a direção de magnetização fácil ocorre no plano dos filmes ao longo da direção cristalográfica [110] dos filmes finos MnAs que é paralela a direção [110] do substrato de GaAs, Observa-se ciclos de histerese quase retangulares com magnetização remanente relativamente alta e campo coercivo baixo. No 111 no plano de filme e corresponde a um plano de magnetização fácil, A deformação da célula unitária do MnAs devido a efeitos de tensão residual é amplamente conhecida na literatura, A diferença nos coeficientes de expansão térmica do MnAs e do GaAs combinado a efeitos de tensão induzida pela aplicação do campo magnético tornam a transição de fase magnetoestrutural do MnAs bastante complexa. Em particular a coexistência das fases ferromagnética e paramagnética nessas epicamadas difere significativamente daquela observada no caso do MnAs massivo, É proposto um modelo baseado na rotação coerente da magnetização para simular os ciclos de histerese magnética de epicamadas de MnAs em temperaturas ao redor da transição de fase magnetoestrutural, A partir dos resultados das simulações é demonstrado que as contribuições das energias magnetoelás- ticas e magnetostrietivas para a densidade de energia livre são cruciais para corretamente descrever a magnetização de ambos os tipos de epicamadas de MnAs, A magnetização foi obtida para campos magnéticos aplicados em diferentes temperaturas e orientações relativas à rede cristalina do MnAs a partir de procedimentos padrões de minimização da densidade de energia livre magnética. Parâmetros fenomenológicos foram usados nos termos de energia de anisotropia magnética em diferentes temperaturas. Utilizamos como variáveis livres nas simulações somente as constantes de acoplamento magnetoelásticas do MnAs, Os coeficientes de acoplamento magnetoelástico obtidos são compatíveis com valores previamente medidos para o MnAs e contribuem significativamente para os termos de primeira ordem e segunda ordem da anisotropia magnética. Os resultados das nossas simulações são consistentes também com a manifestação de uma componente de magnetização fora do plano do filme de MnAs sobre substratos de GaAs(001), Essa componente de magnetização perpendicular já foi observada e relatada, O presente modelo indica que ela é induzida por efeitos de tensão durante a coexistência de fases e que persiste em temperaturas acima da temperatura de Curie da componente de magnetização no plano.

Abstract:
Este artigo discute a atuação dos professores que desenvolvem suas atividades em turmas inclusivas, problematizando os principais desafios enfrentados por eles. A partir de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, buscou-se analisar quais são os avanços e entraves relacionados à prática docente em salas com alunos com necessidades educacionais especiais. Para isso, serão discutidas as peculiaridades da educação inclusiva (NASCIMENTO, 2008); a formação e atuação dos professores em salas inclusivas (SILVA, 2007) e as adaptações curriculares necessárias para se promover a inclusão dos estudantes (VITTA, et al., 2010). Considera-seo professor um protagonistapara o êxito do processo de inclusão, ao agir de forma dinâmica e sensível em sua prática pedagógica. Conclui-se que o docente deve atuar de forma inovadora e não automatizada, considerando os vários aspectos intrínsecos à educação com objetivos claros em incluir os alunos. Assim sendo, este estudo encontra a sua justificativa ao perceber que a educação inclusiva gera um desafio peculiar aos professores que nela atuam, exigindo uma performance mais dinâmica e complexa em sua prática pedagógica.
