Abstract:
Internet users are growing rapidly from time to time throughout the world, including Indonesia. As a result, consumer needs in terms of making payments have changed towards non-cash payments, namely e-wallets, which have become a huge potential in the e-commerce market. The preference for e-wallet transactions is increasing compared to using cash on hand. Most of its users are millennials, including students. This study examines knowledge related to the use of e-wallets and the reasons behind its use. The study involve ten college students, consisting of nine female students, and a male student whose age varies between 19 and 23 years. They come from various universities. Using qualitative approach, this study use in-depth interview as the primary data collection technique and secondary data obtained from relevant website. This research shows that e-wallet is not only understood as a place to store money electronically, but also as a digital payment. In Indonesia there are various e-wallet products. Among others OVO, Gopay, and DANA are the most popular ones. There are three aspects related to the students’ knowledge about e-wallet: source of information, features, and its use. Advertisements from social media, television, and transportation applications are the main sources of information about e-wallets. E-wallet offered various features, such as topping up, paying bills and pulses, and transferring and withdrawing from e-wallets to bank partners. E-wallet is used for a variety of purpose, such as to pay online transportation, to buy food/drinks, to pay bills, etc. There are three basic reasons why students use e-wallet as a payment method, namely because of the promos offered, convenience in transactions, and ease to operate. To attract people to use e-wallets, service providers must work with various merchants, whose promos are increasingly attracting users to use e-wallet for payment. In using e-wallets, students not only feel comfortable, but also convenience in payment because it can be done anywhere as long as the user is connected to the internet. Keywords : Millenial generation, students, e-wallet, internet, cashless, and digital payment.

Abstract:
Background: An e-wallet is a digital equivalent of a physical wallet which plays an essential role in payment system transformation. To embrace the concept of a cashless society, the Malaysian Government and central bank have taken various steps to encourage the adoption of e-wallets. Despite the seamless services offered by the e-wallet, it is yet to reach high-scale adoption in Malaysia. This study aims to investigate Malaysians’ readiness towards the e-wallet and their perceptions of it by employing the UTAUT2 model. Methods: A total of 309 valid data were gathered and analysed with partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). Results: The findings revealed that the respondents were confident about the new technology and tended to believe that e-wallet was somehow useful for them. The results also disclosed that e-wallet adoption intention was significantly influenced by performance expectancy, price value, facilitating conditions, and followed closely by social influence. Nonetheless, insecurity did not present significant impact on both performance expectancy and effort expectancy of e-wallet. Conclusions: This study provides a substantial contribution to the knowledge domain by combining system-specific and individual-specific models in an e-wallet context. The outcomes of this study would also benefit e-wallet service providers and policymakers by delivering holistic insight into Malaysians’ readiness and adoption behaviour of the e-wallet.

Suggested here are strategies to leverage the strengths and opportunities as well as overcome the weaknesses and threats. Suggested here are strategies to leverage the strengths and opportunities as well as overcome the weaknesses and threats.Design/methodology/approachThis study analyses the e-wallet phenomenon using a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis to assess Malaysian business development. It is supported with findings from the literature and secondary data. The relevant secondary data were collected from Bank Negara Malaysia and the World Bank.FindingsThis study shows that e-wallets in Malaysia have still not achieved their purpose but there is huge potential to do so. The SWOT analysis identified several strengths (e.g. financial incorporation, easy to access, protection and safety, simple for other accounts to connect to, product and consumer service management, quick to implement/administer), weaknesses (e.g. lack of infrastructure and the “tapping” of devices already cornered by the mobile phone market, opportunities (e.g. eliminating fraud, better customer service, promotion/loyalty that can be built into customer experience) and threats (e.g. attacks from viruses, frequent inquiries whether multiple wallets can be used by clients, the concerns of reckless spending behaviour of the e-wallet users).Research limitations/implicationsThis study is crucial for assessing the current situation and the prospects of e-wallets in Malaysia. This study also offers significant insights for policymakers and e-wallet service providers to develop appropriate strategies to enhance e-wallet services in Malaysia.Originality/valueThis paper is the first of its kind to integrate a SWOT analysis and the rapid development of the e-wallet market in Malaysia. Hence, the findings could broaden our knowledge on the fintech industry and enable firms to participate in the e-wallet market.

Abstract:
During the COVID-19 pandemic, e-payment systems, also known as cashless payment systems, have steadily evolved as a payment system instrument. Changes in payment methods, followed by a growth in digital payment systems, may be driving people to use e-wallets. The functions of an e-wallet are similar to those of an e-banking or mobile banking account, but an e-wallet gives greater convenience and simplicity of access while making payments. Because the use of e-wallets can help reduce the spread of COVID-19-causing coronaviruses, this study looks into the possibilities of increasing e-wallet usage while also increasing the use of digital payment and online transactions during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Abstract:
The growth of cashless payment has grown exponentially, including that of e-wallet, in line with the government's plan to build a cashless society. The e-wallet phenomenon is fast becoming an important component for financial inclusion in emerging economies as studies found that the use of digital financial services like mobile money and other fintech applications could provide many potential development benefits. Countries like China have experienced the highest growth in cashless payments over the last five years and is said to be the most educated on mobile payment services. Despite the rapid development of this technology, organizations and consumers are still concerned about rising security issues. As the e-wallets markets are further expected to increase exponentially in Malaysia, it is crucial to study the consumers' behavioral intention to use e-wallets for the benefits of e-wallets service providers and users in Malaysia. Correspondingly, this paper presents a review of the literature aimed at advancing the body of knowledge by proposing a conceptual model on consumers' behavioral intention to use e-wallet (mobile payment) using UTAUT2 as a baseline model. This paper is built upon a systematic literature review method. This paper provides practical implications that would assist e-wallet service providers when devising appropriate strategies in planning and increasing consumers' intention to use the e-wallet.

Abstract:
E-wallets are a modern electronic payment system technology that easily recognize consumer interest, making our transactions very convenient and efficient. E-wallets are intended to substitute the existing physical wallet, which may tell others something about us as a person. That is why using a physical wallet is a unique, personal experience that cannot be duplicated. A solution would be to replace the physical wallet with an e-wallet on an existing mobile device. The personal nature of the e-wallet is that it should be installed on a unique device. One of the fundamental protections against any illegal access to e-wallet application is through authentication. In particular, the fundamental authentication category used in an existing e-wallet is based on knowledge (i.e., what you know), ownership (i.e., what you have), and biometric (i.e., what you are) authentication, which are sometimes prone to security threats such as account takeover, sim swapping, app cloning, or know your customer verification attacks. The design of an e-wallet authentication on mobile device solution must take into consideration the intensity of the security. To address this problem, this study proposes a design of e-wallet apps with an extension security element that focuses on the device identity in the existing user authentication mechanism. This study covers four fundamental categories of authentication: password, one time password, fingerprints, and international mobile equipment identifier. Using IMEI limits an e-wallet to be in one specific device in one time; this brings it into line with the nature of a physical wallet. In addition, it will be ready to handle the mentioned threats above, which will ultimately result in the far more reliable to use of e-wallet apps. The proposed authentication design has two phases, a registration phase and an authentication phase. The proposed method has been developed and implemented based on an Android Studio Firebase real-time database management and PayPal. In addition, the complete design has been evaluated using functional requirement testing to see how closely it meets functionality requirements. The results obtained from functional testing show that the functionalities of the proposed method meet the requirements, and one cannot use a same account on two devices; hence, it is secure from attacks. The result also shows that the proposed method has no errors. Moreover, it has been shown that our proposed method has better security parameters in terms of the existing method.

Abstract:
In Indonesia, the most commonly adopted electronic payment is an e-wallet. E-wallets have become a part of everyday life for Indonesians. Even so, there are not a few Indonesians who have not used this facility, the acceptance of e-wallets in Indonesia is still uneven. There are not a few studies that discuss e-wallets, however limited to research on acceptance without depending on other variables. Therefore this research was conducted to provide an overview of the comparison or differences in the attitudes of e-wallet users in Indonesia. The data obtained were analyzed quantitatively with Manova analysis technique. The findings of this study indicate that there are relatively no differences outside of two things, specifically the social influence in which women report higher scores than men. and on the perception of risk which is quite the opposite, that it was men who reported higher scores that were women. This research can complement and enrich the literature in the field of financial technology and provide an overview of the comparison or differences in attitudes of digital wallet services in Indonesia. In addition, the knowledge from this research is not only beneficial for digital wallet service providers, but widely for the financial technology industry.

The objective of this research is to propose a strategy to strengthen the islamic digital wallet or electronic wallet (e-wallet) in Indonesia to compete with its conventional counterparts. Qualitative research methods with study literature were chosen to explore previous research that had been discussed on e-wallets particularly from the Islamic perspective both at global and national levels through reputable journals, reports, and other supportive documents. The results depicted that the Islamic e-wallet can be optimized through four points, namely promotion, education, collaboration, and trust but remained fulfilling sharia compliance so that the values of Islamic teachings are not vanished. Promotions in the form of cashback can be substituted for points to be converted into donations through the Islamic crowdfunding platform. Education can be improved through social media platforms. The way is by coordinating with Islamic public figures, collaboration with merchants and service providers. Finally increasing trust by safeguarding user data and funds.

Abstract:
E-wallet has become a new payment method in the global trend, replacing cash payment gradually. Malaysia's national bank has set out objectives to move to a cashless society with electronic payment system in its Financial Sector Blueprint 2011-2020. Hence, this research aims to investigate the drivers that affect the behavioural intention of consumers towards the adoption of e-wallets in Malaysia. Performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence are the three factors adopted from the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology model (UTAUT) to demonstrate the intention of consumers on e-wallet adoption. Additionally, perceived security and incentives are integrated into the research model to examine the factors that affect the e-wallet adoption. Four hundred fifty questionnaires were collected and analysed. The results show that all the factors have positive relationship with intention of e-wallet adoption. Abstract:
Background: In this era of innovation in information technology, everything is embedded with technology, and the financial sector is no exception. The term “FinTech” (Financial Services Technology Consortium) attracted the attention of regulators, consumers and investors in 2014. It was initially applied to the back-end systems of financial and banking institutions. However, Fintech has now become more consumer-oriented, as the combination of financial services and information technology. Specifically, it refers to financial services for consumers through technology. The e-wallet is one of the examples of FinTech in payments and infrastructure that can be freely adopted by everyone. However, the penetration of e-wallet usage in Malaysia is still in its early stages compared to other countries. Methods: The aim of this research is to examine the factors that affect the adoption of e-wallets in Malaysia based on five aspects: perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, perceived risk, social influence and government support. These variables were adopted from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA). Questionnaires were given to a targeted group of 100 e-wallet users in Malaysia using the convenient sampling method. The contribution of each factor in explaining the adoption of e-wallets was analyzed using multiple regression. Results: The results show that social influence has a significant relationship with the adoption of e-wallets in Malaysia: the majority of the respondents are at their prime age and their behaviours tend to be influenced by the reference group. The results from this study may encourage more small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia to provide e-wallet payment options, transforming their conventional business into a digital business and spurring the growth of the digital economy in Malaysia. Conclusions: High levels of adoption of e-wallets moves a country towards a cashless society, resulting in better economic growth and environment.

Abstract:
Personal safety has had a renewed focus throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to behavioral change. The adoption of E-wallets facilitates social distancing and thereby helps prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. This paper aims to investigate the potential for consumers’ continued usage of an E-wallet service through an integrated framework based on two established models: the Health Belief Model (HBM) and Technology Continuous Theory (TCT). An electronic survey was distributed to a sample of 1080 individuals from academic society in three different Hungarian universities who had used an electronic wallet during the pandemic COVID-19. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was applied in the study and explained the 55.9% variance in consumers’ continuous intention towards E-wallet usage. This study found that while the COVID-19 pandemic strongly influenced the current use of e-wallets; the pivotal factor affecting their continued use is based on consumer self-efficacy. The study has both short and long-term implications; in the short-term, decisionmakers should utilize health threat constructs (as an element of the protective behaviors taken during the COVID-19 pandemic) to motivate consumers to use E-wallets; in the longer-term, banks should develop further strategies that encourage consumer loyalty regarding E-wallets by reassuring customers that these financial services achieve the value and benefits that they expect, resulting in self-efficacy.

Abstract:
By using the TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) framework, this study aims to investigate the factors that influence the usage intention of e-wallet applications, especially LinkAja, to make payments in today's digital era. Through the data collection process carried out by surveying 100 respondents, the results found show that the technological innovativeness (IT) variable can indirectly affect usage intention through the variable perceived ease of use and perceived playfulness, besides that it was also found that the variable perceived ease of use (PEU) and perceived playfulness (PP) has a positive effect on usage intention. By investigating digital payments using e-wallets as a means of transactions, this study is expected to contribute to the development of the LinkAja application as one of the largest e-wallet companies in Indonesia, because the digital economy is one of the stimuli that could support the economic development of a country. In addition, the digitization of monetary transactions around the world is also a major factor requiring the use of e-wallets by the public, thereby increasing the number of users in the future. This research is certainly quite important to do because it is hoped that it can add insight to the public about the LinkAja e-wallet and also help the LinkAja company to find out what things affect people's intentions to use LinkAja as their e-wallet so that the company can adjust its development. going forward with variables that do affect the desire to use LinkAja.

This study explored the effect of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, social influence, facilitating condition, lifestyle compatibility, and perceived trust on both the intention to use an e-wallet and the adoption of an e-wallet among adults by using the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). This quantitative study adopted a cross-sectional research design to gather data from 501 respondents using a Google Form. The collected data were analyzed using partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). As a result, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, social influence, lifestyle compatibility, and perceived trust displayed a significant positive effect on both intentions to use an e-wallet and adoption of an e-wallet. This study evidenced the mediating effect of the intention to use an e-wallet on the correlations between the predictors and adoption of an e-wallet. Both the age and gender of the respondents moderated the effect of lifestyle compatibility on intention to use an e-wallet. The study outcomes serve to inform managers and policy makers to devise effective strategies that capture consumers’ intention to use and experience of using an e-wallet in the midst of a turbulent market. Ultimately, such carefully sculpted policies may promote the digital platform and web-based application, apart from encouraging higher rates of e-wallet adoption in developing countries.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the key factors that explain intention to use e-wallet services (perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude, subjective norm, positive disconfirmation and perceived behavioral control). The moderating role of perceived value in the relationship between satisfaction and their intention to continue using the e-wallet is also examined. Methodology A total of 257 e-wallet users participated in an online survey and hypotheses were tested with SPSS/PLS-SEM. Findings The constructs technology acceptance model (TAM), theory of planned behavior (TPB) and user satisfaction affect intention to use. However, perceived value does not strengthen the relationship between user satisfaction and e-wallet usage intention. Practical implications The TAM, TPB and expectancy disconfirmation model (EDM) constructs help explain the use of e-wallet services. These results will help the providers of these services to understand user behavior and to design their marketing strategies more appropriately to ensure consumer satisfaction and their intention to use e-wallet services. Originality This study adopts a holistic and integrative approach to explain the continued use of e-wallet services. The model integrates three basic adoption theories: TAM, TPB and EDM.

Abstract:
Digital wallets (e-wallets) are a technology that provides a new perspective for the public on non-cash payments that are far more practical and secure in transactions. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence the success or failure of implementing digital wallets (e-wallets) using the variant-based Structural Equation Modeling method (Partial Least Square). In this decade, an approach has been developed that allows the relationship between an independent variable to the dependent variable which is influenced by other latent variables called Moderating Structural Equation Modeling (MSEM), so this study uses MSEM by measuring it using the ping method. The results of the analysis show that the factors that influence acceptance defined as interest in using the technology are social influences, faciliating conditions and consumer habits. Meanwhile, the factors that influence the use of digital wallets which are defined as usage behavior are interest in use and conditions that facilitate. The use of digital wallets (e-wallets) is also indirectly influenced by social influences, conditions that facilitate and consumer habits. the factor of supporting facilities from the issuer of digital wallets (e-wallets) is a factor that affects directly and indirectly the use of digital wallets (e-wallets). Analysis of Moderating Structural Equation Modeling (MSEM) using the ping method results that experience does not affect the acceptance and use of digital wallets (e-wallets) as moderation Keywords: Acceptance and Use Model, Digital Wallet (E-wallet), Partial Least Square, Moderating Structural Equation Modeling.

Abstract:
E-wallet is a digital wallet that is used as a transaction tool in digital form, with the existence of an e-wallet the transaction process is faster and easier in this digitalization era because it only has to scan the QR code. However, behind the efficiency and benefits provided, of course there are risks arising from the use of this e-wallet such as the security of our personal data is threatened. The purpose of this study was to determine law enforcement against cybercrime on e-wallet and protection of personal data on e-wallet. The method used in this research is normative research. Based on the principle of legality of cyber crimes such as data theft has violated the ITE Law, therefore a person's personal data must be protected according to the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information and Bank Indonesia. According to Philipus M. Hadjon's theory of legal protection, to overcome legal problems such as data theft on e-wallet, preventive and repressive measures are needed.

The development of technology has triggered developments in all industrial sectors, including circulation of money. There are three types of money currently circulating, namely currency, demand deposits and e-money. OVO is one of the server-based e-money publishers that can be accessed via a smartphone or commonly known as a mobile wallet. Several factors influence the low use of m-wallet in Indonesia. Millennials are considered the generation closest to technology, the presence of new technology is a necessity that is owned by millennials. With this millennial generation, it is expected to be able to improve the performance or effectiveness of the presence of this m-wallet. The type of research used is descriptive verification, namely by describing and exposing the variables studied and then drawing conclusions. Abstract:
Intention to use e-wallets is affected by a number of factors which are related to consumer perception about privacy, security, price value, benefits etc. A sample of 613 customers of e-wallets in Punjab state in India was validated through mall intercept method. The results indicate that hedonic motivation, perceived security, general privacy, facilitating conditions, performance expectancy, perceived savings and social influence, and price value in this order, influence the intention to adopt e-wallets. Habit and effort expectancy are the hindrances that have a negative impact on the e-wallet adoption. Factors such as hedonic motivations, security, and privacy have larger roles. The service providers should maintain the privacy and security of users and engage customers by modifying the existing services' range and features. The study endorses reduction in the efforts of using e-wallets, and the conversion of habit into more willingly performed behavior. The resulting model can draw meaningful insights about adoption of this emerging payment platform.
