Abstract:
El objetivo fue determinar la productividad, costos de producción y costo-beneficio de dos esquemas de alimentación (EA) para cerdas lactantes: 1) alimentación convencional (EAC) y, 2) alimentación convencional más nopal (EAN). Se evaluaron 116 partos de cerdas hibridas: 58 partos de cerdas sometidas al EAC (n=17 cerdas) y 58 partos de cerdas bajo el EAN (n=17 cerdas). Se evaluó: glucosa sanguínea (GS), consumo de alimento diario (CAd-1), pérdida de peso corporal (PPC), intervalo destete-estro (IDE), porcentaje de servicios repetidos (PSR), días no productivos (DNP) y tamaño de camada subsiguiente (TC). El análisis estadístico se realizó mediante modelos de efectos fijos (MIXED SAS®) y la evaluación económica bajo la metodología del análisis costo-beneficio. Las cerdas sometidas al EAN presentaron mejor (P<0.05) comportamiento en las variables evaluadas: menores niveles de GS preprandial (55.5 ± 2.31 mg dL-1), mayor CAd-1 (5.3 ± 0.17 kg d-1); menor: PPC (6.0 %), IDE (144 h), PSR (12.4 %) y DNP (36.0 días) y mayor TC (11.2 lechones). Ello en comparación con el EAC: GS preprandial, 70.0 ± 2.31 mg dL-1; CAd-1, 4.7 ± 0.17 kg d-1; PPC, 11.7 %; PSR, 17.1 %; DNP, 50.0 días y TC, 9.8 lechones. El costo de producción lechón-1 destetado en el EAN fue de $ 539.02 MXN vs $ 590.81 MXN para el EAC. La ganancia fue de $ 216.68 y $ 168.88 MXN lechón-1 vendido para EAN y EAC, respectivamente. El EAN reduce la GS e incrementa el CAd-1 de las cerdas lactantes, lo que reduce la PPC en dicha fase y genera mayor productividad de las cerdas y mayor eficiencia económica.

Abstract:
Neuropathic pain is a frequent chronic presentation in autoimmune diseases of the nervous system, such as multiple sclerosis (MS) and Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS), causing significant individual disablement and suffering. Animal models of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) and experimental autoimmune neuritis (EAN) mimic many aspects of MS and GBS, respectively, and are well suited to study the pathophysiology of these autoimmune diseases. However, while much attention has been devoted to curative options, research into neuropathic pain mechanisms and relief has been somewhat lacking. Recent studies have demonstrated a variety of sensory abnormalities in different EAE and EAN models, which enable investigations of behavioural changes, underlying mechanisms, and potential pharmacotherapies for neuropathic pain associated with these diseases. This review examines the symptoms, mechanisms, and clinical therapeutic options in these conditions and highlights the value of EAE and EAN animal models for the study of neuropathic pain in MS and GBS.

Abstract:
Pyricularia oryzae is composed of pathotypes that show host specificity at the plant genus level. To elucidate the genetic mechanisms of the incompatibility between the Eleusine pathotype (pathogenic on finger millet) and common wheat, an Eleusine isolate (MZ5-1-6) was crossed with a Triticum isolate (Br48) pathogenic on wheat, and resulting F1 cultures were sprayed onto common wheat cultivars Hope, Norin 4 (N4), and Chinese Spring (CS). On Hope, avirulent and virulent cultures segregated in a 3:1 ratio, suggesting that two avirulence genes are involved. They were tentatively designated as eA1 and eA2. On N4 and CS, the segregation ratio was not significantly deviated from the 7:1, 15:1, or 31:1 ratios, suggesting that three or more genes are involved. A comparative analysis of the segregation patterns suggested that two of these genes were eA1 and eA2. A complementation test indicated that the third gene (tentatively designated as eA3) was the Ao9 type of the PWT3 gene controlling the avirulence of Avena and Lolium isolates on wheat. The fourth gene (tentatively designated as eA4) was detected by backcrossing 200R72, an F1 culture lacking eA1, eA2, and eA3, with Br48. Comparative analyses of phenotypes and the presence and/or absence of molecular markers in the F1 population revealed that some cultures were avirulent on N4/CS in spite of lacking eA1, eA2, eA3, and eA4, indicating the presence of the fifth gene (tentatively designated as eA5). Taken together, we conclude that at least five avirulence genes are involved in the incompatibility between MZ5-1-6 and N4/CS.

Abstract:
The ecotoxicity of a nitrate-based ionic liquid (IL) and saturated mixtures with four nitrate salts towards the bioluminescent bacteria Vibrio fischeri, were tested in this work, using the Microtox® standard toxicity test. The selected IL was Ethylammonium Nitrate (EAN) and the nitrate salts were Lithium Nitrate (LiNO3), Calcium Nitrate (Ca(NO3)2), Magnesium Nitrate (Mg(NO3)2), and Aluminum Nitrate (Al(NO3)3). The effective concentration (EC50) of these mixtures was determined over three standard periods of time, namely 5, 15, and 30 min. Results of EC50 for pure EAN at 15 min are in relatively good concordance with the literature. To the best of our knowledge, no ecotoxicity studies have been performed for doped EAN. Similar results have been found for pure EAN and for EAN doped with LiNO3 and Mg(NO3)2, whose values indicated low toxicity. Nevertheless, the addition of Ca(NO3)2 and Al(NO3)3 cause an increase in the ecotoxicity of EAN, especially for the IL doped with Al(NO3)3, which present values associated to highly toxic compounds, comparable even with benzene or atrazine.

Experimental varroacidal treatments of honey bee colonies were conducted on five apiaries (EA1–EA5) situated at five different geographical and climatic locations across Croatia. The aim of this study was to assess the comparative efficacy of CheckMite+ (Bayer, Germany), Apiguard (Vita Europe Ltd.; England), Bayvarol, C, (Bayer, Germany), Thymovar, (Andrma BioVet GmbH, Germany), and ApiLife Var, (Chemicals Laif SPA; Vigonza, Italy) for controlling the honey bee obligatory parasitic mite Varroa destructor in different conditions in the field during summer treatment. The relative varroa mite mortality after treatments with applied veterinary medicinal products were EA1 (59.24%), EA2 (47.31%), EA3 (36.75%), EA4 (48.33%), and EA5 (16.78%). Comparing the relative efficacy of applied varroacides, the best effect was achieved with CheckMite+, and the lowest for honey bee colonies treated with Apiguard (statistically significant difference was confirmed; p < 0.05). Considering the lower efficacy of thymol-based veterinary medicinal products observed on all EA in these study conditions, it may be concluded that their use is limited under different treatment regimes. Despite unfavourable weather and environmental conditions, with exceptions of EA5/EA5′ and EA1, the relative varroacidal efficacy of authorized veterinary medicinal product treatments in moderately infested honey bee colonies ensured normal overwintering and colony development during next spring.

Abstract Understanding the co-occurrence or overlap among multiple forms of elder abuse and neglect (EAN) is important for designing effective interventions. This paper reports patterns of family caregiver’s daily behaviors related to physical assault, psychological mistreatment, and neglect. Majority of participants self-reported at least one EAN behavior (74%), with most reporting using multiple forms of EAN over the 21-day period (52%). On a given day, psychological mistreatment and neglect were more likely to happen in isolation, while physical assault was more likely to co-occur with psychological mistreatment. The mixed model’s intra-class coefficient suggests the daily context, rather than personal characteristics, explain the variance in the use of EAN. These findings highlight the importance of never minimizing a single event of EAN reported in clinical practice, give the high rate of polyvictimization, and reinforces the need to understand why caregivers use one form of EAN over another on a given day.

ABSTRACT A number of gram-negative bacteria have a quorum-sensing system and produce N-acyl-l-homoserine lactone (AHL) that they use them as a quorum-sensing signal molecule. Pantoea ananatis is reported as a common colonist of wheat heads at ripening and causes center rot of onion. In this study, we demonstrated that P. ananatis SK-1 produced two AHLs, N-hexanoyl-l-homoserine lactone (C6-HSL) and N-(3-oxohexanoyl)-l-homoserine lactone (3-oxo-C6-HSL). We cloned the AHL-synthase gene (eanI) and AHL-receptor gene (eanR) and revealed that the deduced amino acid sequence of EanI/EanR showed high identity to those of EsaI/EsaR from P. stewartii. EanR repressed the ean box sequence and the addition of AHLs resulted in derepression of ean box. Inactivation of the chromosomal eanI gene in SK-1 caused disruption of exopolysaccharide (EPS) biosynthesis, biofilm formation, and infection of onion leaves, which were recovered by adding exogenous 3-oxo-C6-HSL. These results demonstrated that the quorum-sensing system involved the biosynthesis of EPS, biofilm formation, and infection of onion leaves in P. ananatis SK-1.

Resumo O Programa Nacional de Alimentação Escolar (PNAE) preconiza a promoção de práticas alimentares saudáveis por meio da oferta de refeições juntamente com ações de educação alimentar e nutricional (EAN). O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar as ações de EAN no PNAE e sua relação com o perfil do nutricionista. Estudo transversal analítico, realizado em municípios de Goiás, Brasil. Dados coletados por telefone, sendo a associação entre a variável desfecho (realização de EAN) e as de exposição (população escolar e atuação do nutricionista) feita por teste qui-quadrado de Pearson, nível de significância de 5,0%. Foram incluídos 214 (87%) municípios, dos quais 91,1% promovem EAN, com frequência predominantemente semestral (25,3% nas escolas e 23,2% nas creches). A presença do nutricionista mostrou-se associada à EAN (p = 0,001). Ações de EAN são executadas na maioria dos municípios, entretanto com baixa frequência. A associação encontrada indica a relevância da presença do nutricionista, em condições que atendam à legislação, possibilitando o cumprimento de suas atribuições, conforme definido pelo Marco Legal do PNAE e do Conselho Federal de Nutricionistas.

Abstract:
Objetivo: Este artigo visa relatar a experiência da construção e implementação de ações de Educação Alimentar e Nutricional (EAN) transversais aos componentes do currículo escolar do ensino fundamental. Método: As ações foram realizadas entre agosto e dezembro de 2020 em uma escola pública na Paraíba, com base em conteúdos previstos no Marco de EAN para as políticas públicas e no Guia alimentar para a população brasileira, transversalmente associados ao desenvolvimento cognitivo e conteúdos de português e matemática. Resultados: Nos resultados foram descritas as estratégias aplicadas nas ações de EAN e na articulação com componentes curriculares da escola, segundo a idade escolar dos alunos. Com a vivência observou-se, no recurso lúdico, como jogos e contação de histórias, uma estratégia necessária ao engajamento dos alunos nas ações. A articulação entre EAN e o currículo escolar foi viável devido à disponibilização do planejamento pedagógico em curso por todos os professores da escola. O desenvolvimento de ações de EAN adaptadas à idade escolar do aluno garantiram melhor aprendizado e participação dos escolares. Conclusão: As ações transversais de EAN são desafiadoras e demandam criatividade, vínculo entre os educadores e a equipe da escola e planejamento adequado à realidade territorial e das turmas.

Abstract:
Prevas AB, a consulting company focused on industrial systems and  embedded systems, are looking to expand their mobile phone competency  and started two projects for this purpose. The rst is a diploma work to create a proof-of-concept barcode reader running on Symbian mobile phones, and the second is a student project for the new Innovative Programming bachelors degree to create a functioning price comparison application using IMS1 around the proof-of-concept created earlier. Both projects achieved their stated goals. However, due to none of the projects focusing on eciency or theoretical correctness the resulting application is dicult to start, runs slowly, leaks memory and is codewise bloated. These defects prevent the application from being realistically deployable, and a third project is started to clean up the application and improve it. This report describes the solutions employed in that third project The barcode reader in the application was split into two parts: First is the actual application written in C++ responsible for capturing images, sending them to the decoding server and displaying the result to the user. Second is  the decoding server, a separate application written in java that using a TCP-socket waits for images, decodes them, and returns the result. The primary goal of this project is to not only improve, but actually integrate the decoder into the C++ application, massively improving speed and memory usage. This report was written to highlight the lessons learned during this project, to describe the algorithms and methods used to improve the decoder and to be of use to anyone else writing time-constrained and heavily optimized barcode or pattern recognition code for Symbian devices.

Resumo: A Síndrome de Guillain-Barré (SGB) é uma doença desmielinizante do sistema nervoso periférico (SNP). Baseado principalmente nas similaridades clínicas e histopatológicas a Neurite Experimental Auto-imune (EAN) tem sido extensivamente usada como modelo de estudo da SGB. A EAN é uma doença auto-imune, que pode ser experimentalmente induzida em ratos geneticamente suscetíveis através da imunização com os componentes da mielina de nervos periféricos tais como os peptídeos P0 e P2 , ou ainda por transferência adotiva de lifócitos T CD4+ do tipo Th1. Diferentes tentativas de tratamentos para a SGB têm sido estudadas, dentre elas pode-se citar a plasmaferese, o uso de anticorpos monoclonais, administração de corticóides e a imunossupressão global através da administração de intérferon ß. A utilização de venenos totais de serpentes, ou frações deles, já demonstrou bons resultados na tentativa de tratamento de alguns modelos de doenças auto-imunes como a diabetes auto-imune insulino dependente, lúpus e encefalomielite experimental auto-imune (EAE). No presente trabalho foi estudado o efeito de uma fração do veneno da cascavel sul americana Crotalus durissus terrificus (Cdt), a crotapotina, no modelo de EAN. São apresentadas evidências de que tanto a administração intraperitoneal (IP) como a oral de crotapotina reduz significativamente a gravidade da EAN induzida em ratos Lewis, associada a um significativo declínio na resposta proliferativa das células T neuritogênicas, assim como diminuição de infiltrados de células mononucleares no nervo ciático dos os animais
Abstract: Biomedical research in which venom components are being investigated for their potential as novel therapeutic agents has emerged as an interesting option. Crotapotin which is a fraction of the venom of the rattlesnake Crotalus durissus terrificus, has been described as an antinflammatory that acts on the innate arm of the immune response. Here we have demonstrated that intraperitoneal (IP), as well as oral administration of crotapotin significantly reduces the severity of experimental autoimmune neuritis (EAN), an experimental model for Guillain-Barré Syndrome. The reduction of the severity of the disease is associated with a reduction in the mononuclear cells infiltrating in the sciatic nerve and a significant decrease in the lymphocyte proliferative response to neuritogenic peptide

Abstract:

The most common method for identifying merchandise in the commerce is by barcodes. Symbian OS is an advanced operating system aimed at cell phones and the most commonly used in smart phones. Opportunities to a full range of new services are given through barcode recognition in a Symbian OS based device. Therefore the purpose of this degree project was to create an application which would contribute to a future solution aimed at shopping where the cell phone constitutes a reader of itemsʼ identification numbers. Available barcode decoders have been evaluated and three were chosen for testing. The decoder that fared best was ZXing. It was subsequently incorporated into a Symbian OS-based mobile phone. The decoder was written in the Java language but sufficient Java APIs for controlling the camera's autofocus were missing, something that was necessary to decode the barcode. On the other hand the APIs were offered in C++. Therefore, the solution was split into two applications, one server application written in Java and responsible for the decoding and one client application written in C++ containing the GUI, camera controlling facilities and connections to two price comparison services. A procedure for communication between applications and an interface for various lookup services were defined. Finally, the information security was evaluated and the most relevant threat would be a third party that collects information about user behavior patterns for extortion purposes. It was concluded that the application that was created had the ability to scan barcodes, it is possible to extend and thereby fulfill the purpose.

Abstract:
This master thesis deals with the principles of form design, form printing and form processing. Three different types of forms and applications for their detection are created with the reference of these principles. This application provides to create a new type of form and to print out a form. The application itself is implemented in C++ with the use of OpenCV library. This work describes the classification methods of direction finding marks, identification numbers and submission numbers, bar codes EAN-13, page numbers, answer fields and single answers. The classification of all the handwritten numbers is implemented by neural nets.

Examensarbetet har genomförts på ett lager med fokus på deras lagerautomater, där verksamheten hanterar artiklar för industrin. Projektet har följt PDCA-metoden. Företaget har fått in flera kundreklamationer som kan kopplas till deras område för lagerautomater, där största andelen av reklamationerna handlar om att kunder fått fel antal artiklar skickade till sig. Majoriteten av dessa reklamationer gäller mindre ordrar, där kunden beställt mellan 1-10 st artiklar. I projektet kom det fram att den nuvarande rutinbeskrivningen inte stämde överens med operatörernas arbetssätt. I nulägesanalysen undersöktes området vid lagerautomaterna (LA) med hjälp av Ishikawa-diagram och 5 varför. Där valdes tre orsaker till problemet ut, ​otydlig rutinbeskrivning​ , ​otydlig kontroll av antal artiklar​ samt ​otydlig skärm vid LA. Utifrån analysen har ett förbättringsförslag som direkt lösning tagits fram, i form av en ny rutinbeskrivning som utformats med hjälp av operatörer vid lagerautomaterna. Detta för att få med relevant och viktig information, vilket ökar chansen till att operatörerna faktiskt följer rutinen. I rutinbeskrivningen ingår en kontroll av antal artiklar som innebär att operatören räknar antalet artiklar en gång till vid ordrar på 1-10 st artiklar.  Syftet med rutinbeskrivningen är att få operatörerna att arbeta efter ett standardiserat arbetssätt för att minska variationen i kvaliteten och uppmärksamma avvikelser p.g.a felplock. Kontrollen ska direkt minska omfattningen av problemet, men förväntas på sikt inte behövas. Vid projektets slut resulterade den nya rutinbeskrivningen i en förbättrad leveranskvalitet, med fokus på fel antal, med 77 % vilket överträffade projektmålet på 30 %.
This bachelor thesis has been carried out at a warehouse focusing on their automated storage and retrieval machines (ASRM). These warehouse operations handle items for the industry. The project has followed the PDCA method. The company has received several customer complaints that can be linked to this area, where the largest proportion of complaints are from customers receiving the wrong number of items. The majority of these complaints concern small orders, where the customer has ordered between 1-10 items.  The conducted study showed that the current routine description did not match the operators' working methods. In the present situation analysis, which comprised Ishikawa diagrams and 5 why, the study focused on three causes of the problem, ​Unclear routine description​ , ​Unclear control of number of articles ​ and ​Unclear screen on the ASRM​ .  Based on the analysis, a new routine description was outlined together with operators at the warehouse to provide relevant and important information, which increases the change that the operators actually follow the routine. The new routine description includes a control of the number of articles, which means that the operator counts the number of articles again for orders of between 1-10 items.  The purpose of the new routine description is to get the operators to work according to a standardized routine to reduce the variation in quality and pay attention to deviations caused by picking errors. The control should directly reduce the extent of the problem, but is not expected to be necessary in the long term. At the end of the project, the new routine description resulted in improved delivery quality, focusing on the wrong number, by 77 % which surpassed the project goal of 30 %.

This research aimed to expand the existing studies regarding the relationship between cinema and painting, investigating how the symbolic form acting in the hybridism present in the films of French film director Jean-Luc Godard. The dissertation is developed in two chapters. The first chapter, entitled "From pictorial to cinematographic", focuses on cinema and its transformations concerning the ways to represent the "real", emphasizing the French New Wave and Godard?s cinema. In the second chapter, entitled ?Cinema, painting and hybrid language in Jean-Luc Godard?, after defining the concept of hybridism and its applicability, regarding the use of color, to the aspects of symbolic, hybrid and intertextual representation in the cinema, the films Pierrot Le Fou (1965), Passion (1982) e Goodbye to Language (2014) are analyzed in light of Vanoye and Goliot-L?t? (1994), Penafria (2009) and Rose (2003). Throughout the text, the relationship between cinema and painting in Godard's work is carried out with a view to promoting a dialogue between art and communication. Two questions guided the investigation: how does the symbolic construction of Godard's pictorial way take place? Do the pictorial elements present in the filmic narrative really propose to construct meanings and transmit real sensations like those of the Impressionist movement in the paintings? In the understanding achieved by the research, it is affirmed that symbolism and poetics are inherent in cinema and painting in the film production of Jean-Luc Godard.

This work deals with localization and decoding of the linear barcode EAN-13 in the image. It describes types and qualities of barcodes and pose posibble accesses into the localization and decoding. The practical part concerns with the concept and implementation of the algorithm having regard to effectiveness for processing in real time. The localization is established on finding similar features of the barcode among the read rows of the image and decoding is made by finding of the supreme conformity towards referential code figures.

Abstract:
Driven by the automotive industry’s drive towards lightweighting, electrically assisted forming (EAF) is one of the most rapidly growing research fields in bulk deformation, and is classified under the general term “Electrically-Assisted Manufacturing (EAM)”. In EAF electric current (continuous or intermittent) is applied to a metallic sheet during the forming process, leading to numerous advantageous effects that have been studied and proven by several research groups and for different structural metals, such as reduced forming load and flow stress, increased formability, and reduction (or even elimination) of springback. Electrically-assisted bending (EAB) is a recent evolution of EAF technique, with the aim of capitalizing on the aforementioned advantages of EAF technique. In this work the effects of the EAB process on the final springback in an air bending test are identified, with the metal sheet being bent under different electrical field conditions. In addition, a comparison between the effects of applying the current during forming versus post forming are investigated. It was found that in general, higher current density (amount of current through cross sectional area of specimen (A/mm2), more frequent pulse period, and longer pulse duration all resulted in a greater degree of springback reduction. A microstructural evaluation showed no change in grain size in the presence of electric current.
