Introduction: In anthropology, certain characteristics may help to distinguish these tribes or races from others. To some extent, it can be used as a method of identification for these people. The earlobes are regarded as a significant anthropological trait on the face. Again, some civilizations use piercing decorations to stretch and enlarge the earlobes in order to create artistic effects and make room for plugs. Background: The earlobe plays a significant role in framing the face and complementing the appearance of earrings, hairstyles, and other facial features. In addition to the growth of the earlobes with the aging process, other changes can compromise the shape, size, and overall youthful appearance of this region. The main changes are evidenced by the elongation and ptosis of the earlobes, loss, atrophy of soft tissues, and formation of wrinkles in addition to deformities produced by surgical procedures, placement of earrings, and piercings or earlobe gauging. The earlobe is an anatomical structure that has a significant aesthetic role. Its surgical repair places a challenge due to the difficulty of obtaining a natural appearing and durable outcome. The authors present two options: the Gavello technique and the bilobed flap, after the excision of malign neoplasms of the earlobe. The Gavello technique makes use of a bilobed flap with an anterior base to mold the new earlobe. D'Hooghe's bilobed flap with a pre and post-auricular lobe allows the reconstruction of small earlobes. Both techniques, although old, acquire an important and current interest i

The differences in earlobe color of Jiangshan black-bone chickens have been reported to be caused by the combined effects of melanin and collagen. The metabolomic sequencing identified a total of 747 differential metabolites (DMs), in which the metabolites were primarily enriched in tyrosine and tryptophan metabolism pathways between peacock green and dark reddish-purple earlobes.

This can lead to a redefinition of the relationships between composer, performer and listener, thus changing the role of the musicians and asking for a different attitude on the part of listeners. Abstract:
Since the early fifties “open form” has become a generic description for many different compositional concepts having in common musical outcomes which to a certain degree are indeterminate. The introduction looks into different meanings given to “form” in music and gives a historical survey of the origins of compositional indeterminacy. Next, the concept of “open form” is elaborated into a territory which is usually not associated with it: jazz. The introduction is followed by five case studies. Folio (1952-54) by Earle Brown is considered to contain the first intentionally “open form” works.
