Treatise of Asy-Shaykh Abdur Ar-Rauf fi At-Taqwim's is one of the collections of the Pedir Museum in Aceh which consists of three sheets (six pages) in Arabic-Malay language which discusses the calculation of the Hijri calendar. However, the text does not explain the origin of the numbers and their formulas. So the calculation of the Hijri calendar described in the manuscript cannot be used at this time because the difference is very far from the Hijri calendar that we usually use. The early celebration of Ramadan, Aidilfitri and Aidiladha among the Muslim world which sometimes varies to several days has revived suggestions on the need for a global hijri calendar. Accordingly, at the Kongres Penyatuan Kalendar Hijri Seluruh Dunia in Istanbul, Turkey on 28 to 30 May 2016 a resolution was agreed that the global hijri calendar to be adopted must meet two conditions; the new month should not begin if the hilal is yet unborn and the new month is not delayed if the hilal is clearly visible. In the congress, the Uhadi Calendar was agreed to be adopted as a global hijri calendar

Turkey has a long history in the study of the Islamic Calendar. Since the arrival of Islam in Turkey, the Islamic Calendar has been the main reference in the administration of the kingdom for hundreds of years. Furthermore, the kingdom also paid special attention to developing the Istanbul Observatory, which was considered the most sophisticated observatory at that time, to support the implementation of the early determination of the Hijri month using the observation (rukyat) method. For hundreds of years running, the use of the Hijri calendar then began to be shifted by the Gregorian Calendar

This thesis examines the representation of weeping rulers in early medieval sources, focusing on the Carolingian empire between 790 and 888. The meanings applied to tears are culturally specific: thus, exploring how, why, when and where rulers cried can illuminate the dynamics of power and ideals of kingship in this period. This thesis provides a survey of a poorly understood phenomenon. It also challenges several assumptions about the nature of early medieval power. Abstract Traditional forecasts of steel corrosion in concrete can be markedly inadequate if based on chloride threshold (CT) values that do not evolve with structure age. Previous work that considered the increase in CT due to macrocell-induced steel potential drop around newly corroded steel zones showed that the traditional forecast can be much too conservative at long service ages, while insufficiently so at early ages. In that work, CT was simplified as a single function of steel potential. Here we take initial steps to consider not only that local (intrinsic) effect, but also the (extrins
