Properties and hardened behavior of ECC highlights that ECC has a tight crack width development, which increases its ability to resist long-term effects of hot, frost and humid weather. Abstract:
A previous longitudinal study about using microbiome as a caries indicator has successfully predicted early childhood caries (ECC) in healthy individuals, but there is no evidence to verify the composition of core microbiota and its pathogenicity in vitro and in vivo. Biofilm acidogenicity, S. mutans count, and biofilm composition were estimated by pH evaluation, colony-forming unit, and quantitative PCR, respectively. Extracellular polysaccharide production and enamel demineralization were observed by confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) and transverse microradiography (TMR), respectivel

Here a compact wideband diversity antenna covering the PCS/UMTS/WiMAX bands with high isolation and low enveloped correlation coefficient (ECC) is proposed. To widen the bandwidth, the proposed antenna uses a structure with a gap-coupled feed and an inductively shorted line that has capacitive compensation between the radiator and the ground plane. Also, a suspended line with a parasitic element is used to enhance the isolation between the two antennas.

Security is a prerequisite of each device that provides physical access to anyone and is logically expose to communication network attacks. The Internet of Things (IoT) must assure energy-saving provision due to the unique characteristics of IoT devices that comprise cost-effective, low power, and data delivery capacity. A Key-based Authentication scheme is a need without creating a bottleneck of communication for security in IoT integration. A compact handset multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna for long-term evolution (LTE) 700 band (746~787 MHz) applications is proposed. The proposed antenna consists of two symmetrical PIFAs. Without the usage of any additional coupling elements between closely mounted antennas, a high isolation (>15 dB) and a low enveloped correlation coefficient (ECC<0.35) are achieved by the optimum location and arrangement of MIMO antenna elements.

Engineered cementitious composites (ECC) are characterized with increased ductility and strain hardening due to its internal structure design. ECC is especially useful for applications where common steel reinforced concrete is not applicable and the structural members undergo large strains or dynamic action. Such conditions are often combined with environmental effects where structures are partly or fully immersed in water possibly containing some harmful substances such as chloride or sulfuric ions. To maintain sufficient durability of the composite it is necessary to decrease its water absor

This paper presents a low-profile dual-wideband multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna with low envelop correlation coefficient (ECC) for long-term evolution (LTE) and wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) applications. The antenna covers LTE band 7 and Wi-Fi as well as wireless broadband (Wibro) and Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMax) (except for the 3.5-GHz band). To aid with integration of a practical mobile terminal, the MIMO antenna elements are placed at appropriate locations by analyzing the surface current distribution and without using any additional isolation technique

In this article, a compact ultra-wide band (UWB) multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna system is showed. This antenna is based on fractal Fibonacci circles and operates over wide frequency range from 2.9 to 14.51 GHz. The dielectric used was Duroid substrate with dielectric constant εr = 2.2 and thickness of substrate 1.27 mm. This UWB MIMO antenna is simulated by HFSS. In order to improve the isolation between the elements of the antenna a parasitic structure is used, getting S12 and very low ECC. Also, the Total Active reflection Coefficient (TARC) was obtained. In this study, recycled fine aggregate (RFA), also known as recycled brick micro-powder (RBM), was used to completely replace quartz sand for the preparation of green, low-cost ecological engineered cementitious composites (ECO-ECC). RFA was used to replace ultrafine silica sand in the range of 0–100%. Firstly, the optimal replacement rate of RFA was determined, and the test results showed that the ECO-ECC prepared by fully replacing quartz sand with RFA as fine aggregate had strain hardening and multiple cracks, and the tensile strain of the specimens could reach 3%. This article describes the applications and benefits of a recently developed smart building material namely Engineered cementitious composite (ECC), also known as flexible or bendable concrete. Conventional concretes have a strain capacity of only 0.1 percent and are highly brittle and rigid. This lack of bendability is a major cause of failure under strain and has been a pushing factor in the development of an elegant material which is capable to exhibit an enhanced flexibility. An ECC has a strain capacity of more than 3 percent and thus acts more like a ductile metal rather than like a brit

Nanoscale CMOS technology has encountered severe reliability issues especially in on-chip memory. Conventional word-level error resilience techniques such as Error Correcting Codes (ECC) suffer from high physical overhead and inability to correct increasingly reported multiple bit flip errors. On the other hands, state-of-the-art applications such as image processing and machine learning loosen the requirement on the levels of data protection, which result in dedicated techniques of approximated fault tolerance.
