Abstract:
In this article the author asks the question: How has the ecological crisis come about and what can be done about it? Obviously the treatment of an ailment would depend on the diagnosis. When the diagnosis is misguided and overly romantic, so would be the proposed remedy. By “overly ro mantic” the author refers to those views that are out of touch with the living reality of nature as experienced by those who live in nature. Such romanticised views invariably originate from theoreticians of urban, industrial backgrounds. It is only by exposing such overly romantic notions and c

Ecological grief is a psychological response to environmental loss. Ecological grief is especially pronounced in people with close relationships with the environment. The Fernald Community Cohort (FCC) included people who lived near a uranium processing site, also known as the Feed Material Production Center (FMPC), in Fernald, Ohio. The FMPC leaked contaminants such as uranium into the environment, consequently threatening the health, safety, and long-term emotional well-being of people who lived nearby. The major objective in this study is to determine the ecological significance of leaf movements in Rhododendron maximum, which is a subcanopy, evergreen species distributed in seasonally cold environments. Leaf movements could be necessary for maintaining a favorable energy balance and/or avoiding photoinhibition and photooxidation. A series of leaf manipulation treatments were established to veri

Eggs are not laid in association with a host-plant, therefore, prompt location of a suitable host is critical to the survival of the newly hatched larvae. Abstract:
Objective: This study aimed to analyze the association between education level and breast cancer in Brazil among women from 20130 to 2022 and observe the relationship between education level and mortality rate in different regions of Brazil, under the hypothesis that women with lower education levels are diagnosed at more advanced stages, resulting in higher mortality rates. Methodology: This is an ecological study, using a time series design, based on the data collected from the national DATASUS database, including female individuals affected by malignant neoplasm of the breast between 2010 a

Abstract:
The results of human economic activity lead to environmental pollution. Under the current conditions, it is necessary to look for ways aimed not only at minimizing the anthropogenic impact on the habitat, but also at ensuring decent living conditions for humans, that is, to create conditions for sustainable development of the territory. Ecological capacity is an indicator that determines the stability of an ecosystem to adverse anthropogenic influences. There are a large number of methodological approaches that are used to determine it. In order to carry out an environmental assessment of the

Abstract:
This document is a guide to the Ribes of Colorado and New Mexico and the rust fungi which infect them. Information is presented for 15 species of Ribes with diagnostic, vegetative features and notes on their geographic and ecological distribution. The guide is intended as a field aid in evaluating sites for blister rust hazard to white pine from associated ribes. Leaf rusts found on ribes are also described as a means for distinguishing them from white pine blister rust. The significance of each species to forest management is discussed.

Abstract:
A vegetation classi?cation and map for Guadalupe Mountains National Park (NP) is presented as part of the National Park Service Inventory & Monitoring - Vegetation Inventory Program to classify, describe, and map vegetation communities in more than 280 national park units across the United States. Guadalupe Mountains NP lies in far west Texas and contains the highest point in the state, Guadalupe Peak (8,751 ft; 2,667 m). The mountain escarpments descend some 5,000 ft (1,500 m) to the desert basins below forming a complex geologic landscape that supports vegetation communities ranging from
