Abstract:
Surgical site infections are some of the most common and costly health care-associated infections. We searched PubMed for articles that talk about surgical site infection, to analyze the information contained in them and synthesize it in the present text. It is estimated that surgical site infections are developed 2 to 5% of patients undergoing surgical procedures per year. They are directly associated with an increase in morbidity and mortality, in fact, they are the leading cause of death in the immediate postoperative period. It is observed in the literature that only 4 measures are recomme

The green belly stink bug, Diceraeus furcatus (Fabricius, 1775) (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) is an emergent Neotropical crop pest, whose status has progressively changed in the last few years. Diceraeus furcatus is a polyphagous stink bug and its feeding behavior damages corn seedlings, wheat and oat spikes, and soybean pods, causing economic losses. Establishing stock populations of D. furcatus is difficult, and a suitable rearing method is lacking. The establishment of stock colonies is essential to study many aspects of a species, especially economically important ones. In this paper, a meth

Background: Inguinal hernia repair is one of the most frequently performed surgical procedures worldwide. The choice of skin closure technique plays a crucial role in postoperative recovery, cosmetic outcomes, infection rates, and overall patient satisfaction. Traditionally, sutures have been the preferred method for skin closure, offering strength and flexibility. However, tissue adhesives such as N-Butyl Cyanoacrylate have emerged as a promising alternative due to their faster application time, reduced postoperative pain, and superior cosmesis. The success of IUCD in reducing unintended pregnancy could be extended if initiated immediately postpartum, with additional effect on reduction of unintended and short-interval pregnancy. Immediate post-partum insertion of IUDs appeared safe and effective, though direct comparisons with other insertion times were lacking.
