This thesis is about the development of agent-based models that are a method of simulation of economic processes and environments using multi-agent systems. Agent-based modeling seems to be an unappreciated approach that is expected and has a potential for a much wider application than it actually has. The purpose of thiswork is to evaluate the reasons for such situation and to offer solutions. The following were identified among the reasons for a low utilization of the method: a wide gap between theory and practice in the field, doubtful reliability of the method, lowconfidence in its results

However, the application of encapsulated cells may be hampered by the high price of encapsulation, enzymes and the low stability of capsules’ membrane at high shear stresses. This reduces simulation time, which can save both time and money during the product development cycle. The transmission line element method (TLM) is used to decouple models to independent sub-mo

Application specific digital systems, called embedded systems, touch almost every aspect of modern human life. As a result, there is considerable interest in automating the design (called synthesis) of these systems. Further, given the time-to-market pressures and increasing system complexities, component reuse during synthesis is being touted as a key to success. This thesis proposes a formal framework for reusing system-level components during synthesis. Within the framework for component reuse, component matching is a key problem that must be addressed. Given the specification of a design

Abstract:
With the construction of the European Spallation Source (ESS) steadily approaching the operational phase, an environmental monitoring program will soon be implemented with the purpose of monitoring emissions. With regard to radiation safety, it is highly important to monitor alpha emitting radionuclides in aerosol form. Thus, an experimental investigation of direct alpha spectroscopy methods was conducted in order to evaluate the current experimental setup at Medical Radiation Physics in Malmö. Direct alpha spectroscopy measurements of aerosols collected on filters collected during combustion
