The writers of economic news mostly use abstract concepts which usually seem boring and misinterpreted by ordinary people. To make them interested in such news, figurative language is manipulated. One of these rhetorical devices dominantly used in this genre is conceptual metaphor (CM) which is regarded as a vehicle in perceiving the world around us. Abstract:
Over a period of time, a tier of mostly middle-income developing countries has developed a considerable pharmaceutical and vaccine production capacity. However, outcomes have not always been positive for domestic manufacturers in developing countries. Economic and health lessons learned from vaccine manufacturing in developing countries include challenges and positive spill-over effects. Abstract:
Economic sanctions are associated with a range of adverse effects, with variable levels of supporting evidence for different kinds of negative consequences. It is frequently challenging to demarcate the boundary between the intended and unintended consequences of sanctions. This rapid review is based on an assessment of 75 separate articles or reports. It found that sanctions apply pressure on targeted states by inflicting economic damage, but the economic disruption is frequently broader than intended with economic damage not being restricted to targeted states.
