The first analysis evaluates the impact of student funding reforms on participation and course choice, through the use of a difference-in-differences strategy with heterogeneous treatment effects. However, given what we know about the pace of stable levels of education in higher education, this is an assumption that should be questioned. In all sectors of higher education, more needs to be done to increase students' persistence in learning. Foreign literature and research in economics, education, and sociology suggest that student coaching may be a way to help students succeed in higher education.
