Blaberoidea, comprised of Ectobiidae and Blaberidae, is the most speciose cockroach clade and exhibits immense variation in life history strategies. We analysed the phylogeny of Blaberoidea using four mitochondrial and three nuclear genes from 99 blaberoid taxa. Blaberoidea (excl. Anaplectidae) and Blaberidae were recovered as monophyletic, but Ectobiidae was not; Attaphilinae is deeply subordinate in Blattellinae and herein abandoned. Our results, together with those from other recent phylogenetic studies, show that the structuring of Blaberoidea in Blaberidae, Pseudophyllodromiidae <b>stat.

Abstract:
We present a genome assembly from a specimen of Ectobius pallidus (tawny cockroach; Arthropoda; Insecta; Blattodea; Ectobiidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 2,087.55 megabases and 2,124.67 megabases, respectively. Most of haplotype 1 (98.55%) is scaffolded into 11 chromosomal pseudomolecules, while haplotype 2 is assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 15.75 kilobases in length.

Abstract:
Abandoned nests of social wasps are used by various arthropods, however, there are no records of cockroaches. Therefore, the objective of this study is to report the occurrence of cockroaches in abandoned social wasp nests. The first record occurred in a Cerrado area, Brazil, where a nymph (Ectobiidae) of a cockroach (Cahita Hebard, 1922) was found in an abandoned social wasp nest. The second record involved three cockroach nymphs (Blattodea: Ectobiidae), found alongside an ant Camponotus sp. Behavioral resistance is divided into stimulus-independent and stimulus-dependent. Stimulus-independent behavioral resistance arises from behavior that results in natural avoidance of environments or situations in which the insect might be exposed to an insecticide, likely driven by the evolution of innate behaviors/pathways. Stimulus-dependent behavioral tolerance involves an increased ability of an insect to detect and limit exposure to a toxic substance before receiving a lethal dose due to the repellent or irritant properties of the toxic substance, its composition or presentation, leading

We study the morphology of both sexes with SEM. The new taxon is brachypterous, with tiny ellipsoid tegmina and hind wings absent. The female presents strongly sclerotized genital sclerites and spermathecal plate developed. The male without tergal specializationsand asymmetrical styles.
