Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
The study was conducted due to the economic importance of horses and shortage of information on electrocardiographic parameters of horses in Sokoto, Nigeria. This study established the normal electrocardiographic parameters of racing and non-racing horses in Sokoto and statistically compared the values. The study used forty horses comprising of 20 racing and 20 non-racing horses with mean age of 8 ± 0.5 years and average weight of 200 ± 2.0 kg. ECG was recorded using the base apex system with the animals in standing position using single lead channel ECG recorder (EDAN VE-100 manufactured by Edan instruments China). The paper speed was set at 25mm/s while the sensitivity of the machine was adjusted to 10 mm/mV. The durations and amplitudes of P, R and T, the durations of Q and S and the durations of PR, QRS and QT intervals were all determined. These parameters were determined for the three standard limb leads (I, II and III) as well as the augmented limb leads (aVR, aVL and aVF). Descriptive statistics using SPSS version 16 was used to calculate the means and standard error of mean at 95 % confidence interval. One-way ANOVA was used to compare between the values of the racing and non-racing horses. The highest values of P amplitude, R amplitude, Q amplitude, QRS complex and P-R interval were recorded in racing horses, while highest T wave amplitude was recorded in non-racing horses. Highest duration of P wave, T wave and QRS was recorded in racing horses while highest duration of Q wave was recorded in non-racing horses. Significant difference was found in the T amplitude in racing horses in lead aVF. The mean heart rate for the racing and non-racing horses was 80.3 ± 8.4 and 63.1 ± 9.2 beats/minute respectively. Higher values recorded in racing horses indicates that exercise has influence on electrical activities in horses. Keywords: Electrocardiograph, Non-racing horses, Parameters, Racing horses, Sokoto

SUMMARYThis paper presents a comprehensive analysis of time and action operational costs on an objective function developed by Becharet al. (A. Bechar, J. Meyer and Y. Edan, “An objective function to evaluate performance of human–robot collaboration in target recognition tasks,”IEEE Trans. Syst. Man Cybern. Part C39(6), 611–620 (2009)) for collaborative target recognition systems. Different task types, system reaction types, and environments were evaluated. Results reveal two types of task and system reactions – one focused on minimizing false alarms, and the second on detecting a target when one is presented. In addition, the analysis reveals a new property of the objective function based on a specific ratio between the weight differences that generalizes the model's objective function and facilitates its analysis. Results indicate that human decision time strongly influences system performance.

Abstract:
This paper investigates the era of uncertainty and ethical arrangement formulated in the Javanese classical text written by Ranggawarsita. Most of his works, especially Serat Kalatidha, Serat Sabdapranawa, and Serat Sabdatama, situated in the era of uncertainty and moved to the era of zaman edan (crazy age), kalabendhu (age of anger), owah or pakewuh (bizar time). Social structure in this era tied to unethical behavior. Elite communities were lacking of self- representation as a good example, meanwhile the communities were ignoring public advisability. To set free from uncertainty condition is possible through implementing four ethical doctrines in the social life, namely: Monotheistic behavior, active submission to God’s predestination, self-contemplation, and eling lan waspada (self-awareness and mindfulness). The dynamic of nationhood today is almost reflecting the age of kalabendhu, and therefore it is necessary to do dissemination and transformation of ethical doctrines in the Islamic Higher Education by using the doctrine as a source of subject of Islamic Ethic. The need of dissemination is because academia in the Islamic Higher Education is an integral part of uncertain social structure.

Abstract:
<em>During the Ancient Kingdom in Bali, religious teachings flourished well. Some sects had developed during that time before finally assimilated by MPU Kuturan. Some relics indicate the existence of these sects which can be seen in Pusering Jagat Temple and Kebo Edan Temple in Pejeng Gianyar region. At that time, the sects developed well. However, in the course of time, their leaders began to scramble to divide followers. This raises concerns that initiative to unite among them needs to be done. In order to maintain its continuity, the union is considered necessary, but by still taking the main points of each teaching. This is what causes Hinduism in Bali to look different. When it comes to plurality, Hinduism is the container, because in it the fusion of several teachings which initially contradicted, but which can be adapted slowly. This plurality becomes very important because, in essence humans are different from one another. This difference raises a different perspective. By accommodating all the elements, finally everyone feels accommodated. This is the message of pluralism in the era of Ancient Bali.</em>

Abstract:
The tumor necrosis factor (TNF) family ligand ectodysplasin A (EDA) is produced as 2 full-length splice variants, EDA1 and EDA2, that bind to EDA receptor (EDAR) and X-linked EDA receptor (XEDAR/EDA2R), respectively. Inactivating mutations in Eda or Edar cause hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (HED), a condition characterized by malformations of the teeth, hair and glands, with milder deficiencies affecting only the teeth. EDA acts early during the development of ectodermal appendages—as early as the embryonic placode stage—and plays a role in adult appendage function. In this study, the authors measured EDA in serum, saliva and dried blood spots. The authors detected 3- to 4-fold higher levels of circulating EDA in cord blood than in adult sera. A receptor binding-competent form of EDA1 was the main form of EDA but a minor fraction of EDA2 was also found in fetal bovine serum. Sera of EDA-deficient patients contained either background EDA levels or low levels of EDA that could not bind to recombinant EDAR. The serum of a patient with a V262F missense mutation in Eda, which caused a milder form of X-linked HED (XLHED), contained low levels of EDA capable of binding to EDAR. In 2 mildly affected carriers, intermediate levels of EDA were detected, whereas a severely affected carrier had no active EDA in the serum. Small amounts of EDA were also detectable in normal adult saliva. Finally, EDA could be measured in spots of wild-type adult or cord blood dried onto filter paper at levels significantly higher than that measured in EDA-deficient blood. Measurement of EDA levels combined with receptor-binding assays might be of relevance to aid in the diagnosis of total or partial EDA deficiencies.

Abstract:
In the history of the development of Hinduism in the archipelago, it is mentioned that Bhairawa sect never developed in Indonesia. The Bhairawa sect is also said to have flourished in Bali so that Bhairawa’s teachings must have been carried out in Bali. As we know that cultural and religious activities in Bali cannot be separated from the influence of sects that ever developed in Bali in the past. Although the Bhairawa sect is now abandoned in Bali, the influence of this sect may still be present in the religious life of Balinese society. That’s why research is needed to know the existence of the Bhairawa sect in the religious life of Balinese society. Based on the results of the research, it was found that (1) the teachings of the Bhairawa sects were merged together with the Balinese customs tradition, this could be seen from the worship of the Goddess Durga in the Dalem temple, the ngelawar activity, the Calon Aarang activity, the use of arak and berem in religious activities, mecaru and Kebo Edan temple as a place of begging descent. (2) The influence of the Bhairawa sect for the Balinese Hindu Society can be seen in two specs, the first influence is on the Bhuana Agung (universe) and the influence on Bhuana Alit (human).

Abstract:
Abstract This article presents an overview of the current evidence on the process of Neolithisation in the Dutch wetlands. Over the years, several models have been proposed with different perspectives on the timing and pace of the process: a long transition, an early short transition, and a late short transition. The applicability of any of these models is, of course, dependent of the evidence. In this article, we briefly discuss recently obtained data from the Netherlands on vegetation disturbance (woodland clearing), soil disturbance (tillage), cereal cultivation, animal husbandry, and the use of ceramics. The data discussed involve palynological, sedimentary, micromorphological, archaeobotanical, zooarchaeological, as well as lipid analyses. Hence, it is concluded that from the mid fifth millennium cal. BC onwards, various aspects of a more “Neolithic lifestyle” become apparent in the archaeological record, including cereal cultivation on a structural, but small-scale basis in wetland environments. However, despite the “gradual” tendency that can be observed, the evidence is as yet inconclusive with regard to any of the models, due to persisting limitations of the datasets, potential regional variability, and aspects of scale. A new project, the Emergence of Domestic Animals in the Netherlands (EDAN), aims at a better understanding of animal husbandry through aDNA and isotope analyses, within a framework of statistical chronological modelling. We expect this project to enhance the debate greatly.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Objective:To investigate CSF biomarkers in presymptomatic and symptomatic mutation carriers with hereditary cerebral hemorrhage with amyloidosis–Dutch type (HCHWA-D), a model for sporadic cerebral amyloid angiopathy, and to determine the earliest deposited form of β-amyloid (Aβ).Methods:HCHWA-D mutation carriers and controls were enrolled in the cross-sectional EDAN (Early Diagnosis of Amyloid Angiopathy Network) study. The HCHWA-D group was divided into symptomatic carriers with a previous intracerebral hemorrhage and presymptomatic carriers. CSF concentrations of Aβ40, Aβ42, total tau, and phosphorylated tau181 proteins were compared to those of controls of a similar age. Correlations between CSF biomarkers, MRI markers, and age were investigated with multivariate linear regression analyses. Results:We included 10 symptomatic patients with HCHWA-D (mean age 55 ± 6 years), 5 presymptomatic HCHWA-D carriers (mean age 36 ± 13 years), 31 controls <50 years old (mean age 31 ± 7 years), and 50 controls ≥50 years old (mean age 61 ± 8 years). After correction for age, CSF Aβ40 and Aβ42 were significantly decreased in symptomatic carriers vs controls (median Aβ40 1,386 vs 3,867 ng/L, p < 0.001; median Aβ42 289 vs 839 ng/L, p < 0.001) and in presymptomatic carriers vs controls (median Aβ40 3,501 vs 4,684 ng/L, p = 0.011; median Aβ42 581 vs 1,058 ng/L, p < 0.001). Among mutation carriers, decreasing CSF Aβ40 was associated with higher lobar microbleed count (p = 0.010), increasing white matter hyperintensity volume (p = 0.008), and presence of cortical superficial siderosis (p = 0.02).Conclusions:Decreased levels of CSF Aβ40 and Aβ42 occur before HCHWA-D mutation carriers develop clinical symptoms, implicating vascular deposition of both Aβ species as early steps in cerebral amyloid angiopathy pathogenesis. CSF Aβ40 and Aβ42 may serve as preclinical biomarkers of cerebral amyloid angiopathy pathology.

Abstract:
Crowd sensing applications have demonstrated their usefulness in many real-life scenarios (e.g., air quality monitoring, traffic and noise monitoring). Preserving the privacy of crowd sensing app users is becoming increasingly important as the collected geo-located data may reveal sensitive information about these users (e.g., home, work places, political, religious, sexual preferences). In this context, a large variety of Location Privacy Protection Mechanisms (LPPMs) have been proposed. However, each LPPM comes with a given set of configuration parameters. The value of these parameters impacts not only the privacy level but also the utility of the resulting data. Choosing the right LPPM and the right configuration for reaching a satisfactory privacy vs. utility tradeoff is generally a difficult problem mobile app developers have to face. Solving this problem is commonly done by relying on a trusted proxy server to which raw geo-located traces are sent and privacy vs. utility assessment is performed enabling the selection of the best LPPM for each trace. In this paper we present EDEN, the first solution that selects automatically the best LPPM and its corresponding configuration without sending raw geo-located traces outside the user's device. We reach this objective by relying on a federated learning approach. The evaluation of EDEN on five real-world mobility datasets shows that EDEN outperforms state-of-the-art LPPMs reaching a better privacy vs. utility tradeoff.

Abstract:
A seguir, o poema e sua tradução.</p> <div><br /> <hr size="1" /><div><p><a href="file:///C:/Users/USER/Desktop/eden%20bower%20-%20tradu%C3%A7%C3%A3o.doc#_ftnref1">[1]</a> SHEFER, Elaine. Abstract:
AbstractFour ewes fitted with ruminal and duodenalT-piece cannulas were given fourdietsin a 4 × 4 factorial design. Diets consisted of 700 (HF) or 400 (LF) g/day of ammonia-treated barley straw supplemented respectively with 150 or 600 g/day of concentrate made up with barley plus either soya-bean meal (SBM) or fishmeal (FM) as the protein source, offered at 2-h intervals. Duodenal flowsof digestawere estimated by the dual-phasetechniqueusing CoEDTAand Yb-acetate as markers and (15NH4)2SO4 was infusedinto the rumento label microbial N. Bacteria were isolated from the liquid (LAB) or solid (SAB) rumendigesta. Purinebases (PB) were isolated by precipitationin an acid solution of AgN03, and microbial contribution either to the duodenalnitrogen(N) or PB were determinedby 15N measurements induodenaldigesta and bacteria.Simultaneously, therumen degradation of Nand PB contained in SBM and FM was studiedby incubating supplements in polyesterbags in the rumen.PBcontent (mmol/g dry matter)and guanine: adenine(G/A) ratio of barley strawwas 2·89 and 5·23; barley grain,7·91 and 111;SBM, 18·8 and 1·26; and FM, 58·9 and 6·96, respectively. Duodenal flow ofPB(mmol/day)was significantly higher than PB intake on all diets and G/A ratio showed a meanvalue of 0·97, similarto the ratios determined in SAB(0·80) and LAB (1·04) and muchlower than diets(1·31 to 4·32). Microbial contribution to duodenal Nflow ranged from43·3% to 61·0%, beinghigherin SBM(59·0%)thanin FM(46·7%)diets. However, microbial contribution to duodenal PB was not affected by the experimentaltreatment, accounting for proportionately 0·77 of total PB at the duodenum. Rumen degradability of PB was much higher than that of total N and in both cases degradability was higher in SBM than FM. Direct measurements of non-microbialN were significantly higher than values determined by the polyester-bagmeasurements. However, once corrected forthe endogenousN (52 mgN per kg live weight)contribution, results show edan acceptable agreement. Duodenal flow of PB non-attributable to microbes (unlabelled PB) showed a mean value of 3·25 mmol/daywithouta significanteffect of dietary treatment. However, undegradablePBsupply determinedfor0·02, 0·05 and 0·08 per h fractional out flow rates were proportionately lower than 0·025 with SBM and 0·100 with FM diets of the estimated duodenalPB flow. Despite the magnitudeof the unlabelledduodenalPB, the close agreement between G/A ratios in duodenaldigesta and bacteria suggests thatthe contribution of dietary PB to the duodenalflow was low and seemsto confirm the reliability of values obtained from polyester-bag measurements.
