The Savi’s Warbler (Locustella luscinioides) is a recently established bird species in a few reedy shallow lakes of southern Sweden and has only been found nesting for the last twenty years. The shallow waters west of Scotland feature strong variability in water properties on a variety of temporal scales. While the region is known to be subject to both coastal and oceanic influences, the causes of variability are poorly understood. Abstract A comparison between the two very important sulfide belts Raahe-Ladoga Ore Zone (RLZ) in Finland and Southern Edge of Altay (SEA) in China, including geological setting, metallogenic characters and geochemical exploration has been made. In North Canterbury, on the SE edge of the New Zealand plate boundary zone, deformation in late Cretaceous and younger cover rocks is complex. Detailed mapping of the cover sequence (which is about 1 km. thick), has revealed a pattern of synchronous faulting and folding about orthogonal E-ESE and N-NNE orientations younger than early Pleistocene.
