Abstract:
ABSTRACT Tracking resources in real time during response situations has proven to be an integral part of decision making within an Incident Command System (ICS) structure. To help with this process, a new and portable product called Resource Tracking Manager (RTM) was designed and developed. This product is built from two off-the-shelf technologies, ESRI ArcView® and Microsoft Access®. This paper discusses the use of both products in the RTM and explains how bridging them together creates a system that is accurate, easy to use, and informative. The primary features of this tracking system include: 1) The ability to edit resources on a map and have these edits reflected in the database. 2) The ability to edit resources in the database and have edits reflected on the map. The development of RTM has important implications for resource management in a response scenario. Knowing where resources are, and allocating them efficiently and effectively is key in responding successfully.

Abstract:
Genome editing refers to changing the genome sequence of an organism by knockout, insertion, and site mutation, resulting in changes in the genetic information of the organism. The clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/ CRISPR-associated protein-9 nuclease (Cas9) system is a genome editing technique developed by the acquired immune system in the microbes, such as bacteria and archaebacteria, which targets and edits genome sequences according to the principle of complementary base pairing. This technique can be used to edit endogenous genomic DNA sequences in organisms accurately and has been widely used in fields, such as biotechnology, cancer gene therapy, and dermatology. In this review, we summarize the history, structure, mechanism, and application of CRISPR/Cas9 in gene therapy and dermatological diseases.

Abstract:
The main purpose of this research is to present the developed VINTRA system, a comprehensive solution to a fully developed public transit system in Lithuania, and it is very important in encouraging travelers to use public transport. VINTRA is not simply a trip planner; it is capable of planning multimodal public transport trips, using different parameters in public transport trip planning. This system has the functionality to create and edit public transport route trajectories and to edit and calculate timetables according to the distance between stops. This research presents the public transport trip planning parameters procedure of the calculated walking route directions, integrated with the calculation results of public transit routes, as well as combining visualization in digital maps. This paper also discusses how route-planning systems could perform data exchange based on General Transit Feed Specification and how assessment of the public transport trip planning results, compared to the VINTRA system created with Google, was performed.

Abstract:
For various applications in today’s workflow systems, such as process-discovering or clustering, it is necessary to measure the distance between two workflow models. In this paper, we proposed a method to calculate the distance between structured workflows based on tree edit distance. First, we transform workflows into structure trees, and calculate the edit distance between structure trees. Three properties of the workflow distance of workflows are proved, i.e., reflexivity, symmetry, triangle inequality. These properties make the distance measure can be used as a quantitative tool in effective workflow model management activities. We illustrate the methodology with case study, by which its features are shown.

Abstract:
Providing users with the way to collaboratively edit shared model is the challenge of complex informational systems. The majority of existing methods require online connection between users, otherwise, users’ intentions can be lost after a certain delay. The aim of this research is to build a collaborative system that allows users to edit shared model in offline manner without losing their intentions. Firstly, commit-based system was selected as underlying data storage. Secondly, we examined existing collaborative algorithms and selected operational transformation as the most perspective for this scenario. Thirdly, we described the way to merge commits, that stores operations, using modified operational transformation algorithm. Key features of modified operational transformation algorithm include ability to handle resolving of merge conflicts, when intentions of two users are conflicting. To implement this, we consider the set of commits branches as ordered set. As a result, we developed a version control system, that stores user’s intentions and can automatically resolve conflicts on merge. This approach can be applied to any informational system, which is able to save user’s input as the set of operations.

Abstract:
<p>This thesis aimed to study the interaction between an educational technology system and its users and give suggestions for design improvements. The technology system is called EDIT (Educational Development through Information Technology) and has been developed and applied at Linköping University’s Faculty of Health Science. EDIT supports Problem Based Learning and enables scenarios to be presented through the World Wide Web. </p><p>The study was divided into two parts. The first part consisted of a qualitative study with the objective to describe the interaction between the students and EDIT. Students from the faculty’s medical-, nursing- and social care programs were interviewed and observed using the system. The study showed that EDIT was not fully designed to support multiple user interaction. EDIT could only be operated by one user at a time which in turn resulted in an interaction reliant on the operators technical knowledge and ability to handle the system. The second part consisted of a redesign of EDIT. The design goal was to create a groupware that could be operated by multiple users. The design solutions were presented as lofi prototypes to three EDIT users. The users approved of the ideas but stressed the danger of using too advanced and unfamiliar technology.</p>

The diploma thesis describes the analysis, specification, origin and transformation of the current editing system N.E.S.P.I, which is the intellectual property of the company WebRex s.r.o. The main aim is to separate the administration of the web sites from their content, which can be seen on the Internet and by doing so to achieve the unified and complex administration interface for the customers. By bringing the service into work we do not only save time and simplify the work of the programmers, but we are also able to reach the stage when the editing system is not only the intellectual property of the company, but also its physical property, because the customer owns only the web sites, but the possibility to administrative them is offered as further service. The service should also provide the customers with modern access to informational technologies and propose enhanced assistance for their entrepreneurial plans and ideals.

In the growing field of digital system design, there is a great need for design tools that will assist the engineer in developing large scale systems. AHPL, A Hardware Programming Language, is a hardware description language which allows a digital system to be described, evaluated, and analyzed. But like many design tools, AHPL cannot satisfy the multitude of design tool applications. In order to enhance the power of AHPL as a design tool, an EDIF translator is developed. The EDIF translator generates an EDIF netlist of an AHPL design, thus making it possible to port AHPL designs to other design tools.

<p>Electronic data interchange (EDI) är en teknik vilken används för att utbyta elektroniska dokument mellan köpare och säljare. Dessa dokument överförs på en strikt elektronisk standardiserad väg, dokumenten kan vara fakturor, beställningsformulär, leveransplaner etc. EDI har funnits i över 25år och är vida spridd över världen. För att använda EDI krävs det stora resurser i form av kapital och kunskap. Små och medelstora företag har ofta inte de resurser som krävs för att kunna använda EDI.</p><p>Nya tekniker utvecklas ständigt. Extensibel Markup Language (XML) är en ny teknik vilken är avsedd att användas främst på Internet. XML delar upp dokumenten med hjälp av etiketter vilket hjälper läsaren att identifiera innehållet i dokumenten. XML har väckt EDI-samhällets intresse då XML anses ha kapaciteten att kunna användas som ett EDI-format samtidigt som XML är Internetanpassat vilket betyder att EDI enklare skulle kunna användas på Internet.</p><p>I mitt examensarbete har jag utrett om EDI-användande företag avser använda XML/EDI. Jag har genomfört intervjuer för att besvara problemformuleringen. Resultaten jag kommit fram till är att företagen avser använda XML/EDI om en ordentlig standard blir framtagen. Företagen är dessutom positivt inställda till XML/EDI samt Internetbaserad EDI. Anledningen till den positiva inställningen är främst att XML/EDI samt Internetbaserad EDI skulle innebära lägre kostnader vilket i sin tur skulle innebära att även små och medelstora företag skulle kunna använda tekniken.</p>

Notre thèse a pour objectif la construction d’un système omni-langage de recherche de mots dans les documents numérisés. Nous nous plaçons dans le contexte où le contenu du document est homogène (ce qui est le cas pour les documents anciens où l’écriture est souvent bien soignée et mono-scripteur) et la connaissance préalable du document (le langage, le scripteur, le type d’écriture, le tampon, etc.) n’est pas connue. Grâce à ce système, l'utilisateur peut composer librement et intuitivement sa requête et il peut rechercher des mots dans des documents homogènes de n’importe quel langage, sans détecter préalablement une occurrence du mot à rechercher. Le point clé du système que nous proposons est les invariants, qui sont les formes les plus fréquentes dans la collection de documents. Pour le requêtage, l’utilisateur pourra créer le mot à rechercher en utilisant les invariants (la composition des requêtes), grâce à une interface visuelle. Pour la recherche des mots, les invariants peuvent servir à construire des signatures structurelles pour représenter les images de mots. Nous présentons dans cette thèse la méthode pour extraire automatiquement les invariants à partir de la collection de documents, la méthode pour évaluer la qualité des invariants ainsi que les applications des invariants à la recherche de mots et à la composition des requêtes<br>The objective of our thesis is to build an omni-language word retrieval system for scanned documents. We place ourselves in the context where the content of documents is homogenous and the prior knowledge about the document (the language, the writer, the writing style, etc.) is not known. Due to this system, user can freely and intuitively compose his/her query. With the query created by the user, he/she can retrieve words in homogenous documents of any language, without finding an occurrence of the word to search. The key of our proposed system is the invariants, which are writing pieces that frequently appeared in the collection of documents. The invariants can be used in query making process in which the user selects and composes appropriate invariants to make the query. They can be also used as structural descriptor to characterize word images in the retrieval process. We introduce in this thesis our method for automatically extracting invariants from document collection, our evaluation method for evaluating the quality of invariants and invariant’s applications in the query making process as well as in the retrieval process

<p>Detta arbete behandlar EDI (Electronic Data Interchange). EDI är en teknik som innebär att standardiserade dokument skall kunna överföras elektroniskt från ett datorsystem till ett annat, med ingen eller begränsad mänsklig inblandning. Jag har försökt att inrikta min undersökning mot små och medelstora företag.</p><p>De nyckelfrågställningar som jag valt att undersöka är följande: Vad talar för EDI och vilka skäl finns det till ett införande? Vilka förväntningar har företag på EDI vid ett införande? Vilka krav ställs det på organisationer som står inför ett införande av EDI? Vilka hinder finns för små och medelstora företag att införa EDI? Säkerhet i samband med EDI? Dessa frågeställningar har jag genom litteraturstudier, surveyundersökningar och en fallstudie samlat material till. Efter att materialet samlats in och analyserats så har jag dragit slutsatser utifrån mina frågeställningar. Det resultat som har slagit igenom är framför allt att fördelarna med att använda EDI i stället för traditionell pappershantering är så avgörande att nackdelarna blir blygsamma att diskutera. Några av fördelarna är att felfrekvensen vid inmatningarna minskar eftersom detta endast behöver göras en gång. Tidsbesparing kan göras eftersom hastigheten på dokumentöverföringen är mycket snabbare än postgången. Den främsta nackdelen är dock att det kan vara dyrt för små företag i början av ett projekt att införskaffa all utrustning. En annan nackdel är den brist på kunskap som kan finnas hos företag i den här kategorin.</p><p>Eftersom EDI inte har använts så länge bland små och medelstora företag finns det stora möjligheter för fortsatt arbete. Exempel på sådant arbete kan vara en uppföljning av de olika frågeställningar som jag har för att se om det blivit som företagen förväntat sig.</p>

Abstract:
Abstract We present, a novel solution to focused ion beam (FIB) circuit edit, performed through the back and front surfaces of the same semiconductor device under test (DUT). This complementary dual-side FIB modification was performed at wafer level test, on a wafer piece, utilizing a coaxial photon-ion focused ion beam system. The DUT was found to have excessive Iddq leakage current due to a fault in a tri-state driver circuit, and was determined that two FIB edits were required to validate the proposed correction. Wafer level editing provides a more flexible approach to access the edit sites. We accessed one site via the front side circuitry of the DUT and the other through the backside silicon. A wafer piece was used for this dual-side edit to demonstrate relatively uncomplicated sample preparation for FIB access, and still allow wafer level probing afterward. The silicon was locally thinned by mechanical means over the specific die for backside FIB editing. Following the backside edit, the front side edit was performed, with minimal sample preparation. The modifications were validated following these edits, where Iddq and emission measurement were nominal.

Abstract Novel Fabry Perot [1] fringe analysis techniques for monitoring the etching process with a coaxial photon-ion column [2] in the Credence OptiFIB are reported. Presently the primary application of these techniques in circuit edit is in trenching either from the front side or from the backside of a device. Optical fringes are observed in reflection geometry through the imaging system when the trench floor is thin and semi-transparent. The observed fringes result from optical interference in the etalon formed between the trench floor (Si in the case of backside trenching) and the circuitry layer beyond the trench floor. In-situ real-time thickness measurements and slope correction techniques are proposed that improve endpoint detection and control planarity of the trench floor. For successful through silicon edits, reliable endpoint detection and co-planarity of a local trench is important. Reliable endpoint detection prevents milling through bulk silicon and damaging active circuitry. Uneven trench floor thickness results in premature endpoint detection with sufficient thickness remaining in only part of the trench area. Good co-planarity of the trench floor also minimizes variability in the aspect ratios of the edit holes, hence increasing success rates in circuit edit.

Abstract To help solve the navigational problem, i.e., being able to successfully locate a circuit for probing or editing without destroying chip functionality, a near-infrared (NIR), near-ultraviolet (NUV), and visible spectrum camera system was developed that attaches to most focused ion beam (FIB) or scanning electron microscope vacuum chambers. This paper reviews the details of the design and implementation of the NIR/NUV camera system, as instantiated upon the FEI FIB 200, with a particular focus on its use for the visualization of buried structures, and also for non-destructive real time area of interest location and end point detection. It specifically considers the use of the micro-optical camera system for its benefit in assisting with frontside and backside circuit edit, as well as other typical FIB milling activities. The quality of the image obtained by the IR camera rivals or exceeds traditional optical based imaging microscopy techniques.
