Full textThe present study aimed to explore teachers' beliefs about gender approach in education and sex education in a group of high school teachers from a public school in Cerro Azul district, province of Cañete. To achieve this purpose, six teachers were interviewed, three men and three women, using an interview guide structured in six cases and thirteen open questions distributed in two specific areas about teachers' beliefs: one for gender approach in education and the other one for sex education. Results show three central teachers' beliefs relating to sexuality, sex and gender, which influence how teachers understand sex education and gender approach: sexuality is mainly biological, sex and gender are the same, and homosexuality is abnormal. These beliefs promote the reproduction of risk and moralist models to address sexual education and a negative view of the gender approach in education, because they believe that it seeks to “homosexualize” their students. However, they have an equity discourse between men and women, for which gender approach would be appropriate; this implies the existence of an inclusive binary approach that works, but gender identities are more difficult to assume. Results also show the presence of two teachers' beliefs that are contradictory to the central ones: respect towards people with a sexual orientation other than heterosexual, and the need to talk about sex education in classroom.

Full textThis investigation is a substantive work about ambiental education. In it was studied the attitude about ambiental conservation. In 3837 pupils of secondary school eight department from Peru. We constructed an attitudes scale. The result showed that Arequipa student had scores mayor in the test. The second place was occupation for Ucayali students, and third place was occupation for Lima students. The lower scores had Huancavelica and Loreto students. Too we fond differences en the attitudes that have the students.

Full textEl presente plan estratégico se elaboró para poder fortalecer la educación en la región Cusco, y lograr que esta sea competitiva frente a otras regiones en el país. Hoy en día la educación atraviesa dificultades en el aprendizaje por parte de los alumnos y la falta de docentes calificados y motivados, lo que se desea es revertir esta situación implementando diferentes acciones que disminuyan esta problemática. Se realizó por ello un plan estratégico de la educación en la región del Cusco. Este Plan se hizo mediante una investigación cualitativa, donde básicamente se recolectó información de fuentes primarias (entrevistas a directores y profesores que están involucrados con la educación en la región) también se recaudó información de fuentes secundarias como libros, documentos, información estadística, etc. las que ayudaron a tener mayor información y apreciación de la situación que atraviesa el sector. En este presente plan estratégico hemos analizado el entorno que influye en el sector educación de la región Cusco, realizando a su vez un análisis externo, interno, lo que nos llevó a identificarlas oportunidades, amenazas, fortalezas y debilidades, para concluir con las revisiones de las estrategias, la evaluación y el control de los resultados. Finalmente, luego de realizar un análisis del planeamiento estratégico, se recomienda la capacitación integral de los profesores en la región, invertir en la infraestructura e implementación tecnológica de los centros educativos de la región. El presente plan estratégico busca de inmediato su implementación, con la finalidad de obtener resultados óptimos a futuro, y así elevar el nivel educativo de la región, contando con un buen capital humano
This strategic plan was developed in order to strengthen education in the Cusco region and make it competitive with other regions in the country. Today education faces difficulties in learning by students and the lack of qualified and motivated teachers, what is wanted is to reverse this situation by implementing different actions that reduce this problem. A strategic plan for education was carried out in the Cusco region. This Plan was done through qualitative research, where information was collected mainly from primary sources (interviews with directors and teachers who are involved with education in the region), and information was collected from secondary sources such as books, documents, statistical information, etc. Which helped to have more information and appreciation of the situation that crosses the sector. In this strategic plan we have analyzed the environment that influences the education sector of the Cusco region, in turn carrying out an external, internal analysis, which led us to identify the opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses, to conclude with the obtain different strategies, evaluation and control of results. Finally, after conducting an analysis of strategic planning, it is recommended the comprehensive training of teachers in the region, investing in infrastructure and technological implementation of educational centers in the region. The present strategic plan immediately seeks its implementation, in order to obtain optimal results in the future, and thus raise the educational level of the region, with a good human capital

Full textThe objective of this qualitative study is to explore and describe the perception of students that recently made the transition to secondary school. Twenty students from two different public schools in Lima were interviewed (one offered only secondary education and the other one primary and secondary). An intentional sampling method was implemented and in order to triangulate information a focus group with students from last grade of primary school and interviews with teachers of first grade of secondary education were also conducted. The qualitative analysis provided several findings such as the difference between the expectations that the students had when entering secondary school and what they felt in reality. Students have high educational aspirations, although in reality they found bullying in their classes and violence between schools. Furthermore, teachers have lower academic and behavioral expectations of their students given they are attending the afternoon shift. On the other hand, the simultaneous occurrence of the transition to secondary school and adolescence brings several social changes for the students. They have to play a new role in the family and school, assuming more responsibilities. Their significant adults such as parents and teachers play an important role in this stage. Nevertheless, this study shows that they suddenly decrease the support and supervision over the adolescents. Because of that, the communication between home and school also decreases. This study suggests recommendations for the classroom, school and family to support the students in this transition to secondary. Keywords: Transitions, Secondary School, Adolescence, Public Schools

Full textEl presente documento constituye un Planeamiento Estratégico para el Sector Educación de la Región Puno, para los años 2016 a 2026. Su objetivo es lograr que la región ostente una educación de amplio acceso y cobertura, con alta calidad, inclusiva, bilingüe, descentralizada e innovadora en todos sus niveles, promoviendo el desarrollo integral de las personas con equidad y oportunidades para mejorar las condiciones de vida de los puneños. Para ello, se debe alcanzar los objetivos de largo plazo en cuatro áreas específicas: (a) acceso y cobertura, (b) desempeño, (c) pertinencia, e (d) inversión. Por esta razón, se ha propuesto cuatro objetivos para la educación primaria, cuatro para la secundaria y cuatro para la superior, cubriendo aspectos como tasa de matrícula neta, resultados de la prueba PISA o gasto promedio por alumno. La manera de alcanzar estas metas es mediante la implementación de estrategias que se han analizado exhaustivamente: (a) desarrollar la educación técnicoproductiva en turismo y agricultura, principales actividades de la región Puno; (b) crear cultivos sostenibles dentro de las instituciones de educación básica para afianzar conceptos de agricultura, nutrición y sostenibilidad ambiental; (c) penetrar en el área rural, expandiendo la cantidad de instituciones y de profesores; (d) desarrollar la enseñanza superior universitaria a distancia con instituciones de las principales ciudades del país, (e) penetrar en las zonas urbanas con educación inicial, (f) formar laboratorios de cómputo dentro de las instituciones de educación básica, brindando servicios de enseñanza adicionales; y (g) integrarse verticalmente hacia atrás para proveer de acceso a Internet a todas las sedes educativas
This is a strategic planning for the education sector in the Puno region, for the years 2016 to 2026 has been developed with the aim that the region can gain an education of high quality, inclusive, bilingual, decentralized and innovative in its levels, promoting the integral development of people, with equity, generating opportunities for improvement in the living conditions of Puno. This vision will be achieved when long-term objectives are achieved in four areas: (a) access and coverage, (b) performance, (c) relevance, and (d) investment. Thus they have set four goals for primary education, four for secondary education and four for higher education, covering aspects such as net enrollment rate, the PISA test results or average spending per student. The way to achieve these goals is through the implementation of strategies that have been analyzed exhaustively: (a) Develop technical-productive education in tourism and agriculture, which are the main activities of the Puno region; (b) create sustainable cultures within institutions of basic education, for afianzas concepts of agriculture, nutrition and environmental sustainability; (c) penetrate rural areas, expanding the number of institutions and teachers; (d) developing distance learning university higher institutions of the main cities of the country, (e) penetrate urban areas with early childhood education, (f) forming computer labs in basic education institutions, providing additional education services; and (g) vertically integrate backwards to directly provide Internet access in all educational venues

Full textLa presente investigación tuvo como propósito identificar el nivel de cumplimiento de los nueve factores de éxito del Total Quality Management (TQM) en la gestión de la calidad de las Instituciones de Educación Secundaria Pública de la Provincia de Lima. El instrumento para la recolección de datos fue una encuesta basada en el modelo TQM de Benzaquen (2014). El modelo combina distintas filosofías de calidad (Deming, Juran, Crosby y Sila & Ebrahimpour). Se basa en los nueve factores de éxito TQM: alta gerencia, planeamiento de la calidad, auditoría y evaluación de la calidad, diseño del producto, gestión de la calidad del proveedor, control y mejoramiento del proceso, educación y entrenamiento, círculos de la calidad, y enfoque hacia la satisfacción del cliente. Asimismo, se asocian esos factores con cuatro bloques organizacionales. La encuesta se aplicó a una muestra de 200 colegios, de los 657 existentes en la Provincia de Lima. Se identificó que ninguno contaba con SGC y que tan solo 13 estaban en proceso de implementación de SGC. Por ello, la investigación fue de tipo descriptivo y consideró un análisis en base a interrogantes y respuestas sobre el nivel de cumplimiento de cada uno de los nueve factores de Calidad TQM en base al estadístico Z y Alpha de Cronbach para la validez y confiabilidad. Se encontró que las Instituciones de Educación Secundaria Pública de la Provincia de Lima no tenían un nivel de cumplimiento alto de los nueve factores de éxito TQM. El Alpha de Cronbach fue 0.7 y demostró que los resultados fueron válidos y confiables
The purpose of the present investigation was to identify the compliance levels of the key factors of Total Quality Management (TQM) in the administration of public schools of secondary education in the province of Lima. The instrument used for collecting data was a survey based on the TQM model by Benzaquen (2014). This model combines different quality philosophies (Deming, Juran, Crosby y Sila & Ebrahimpour). It was based on nine key TQM success factors: high management, quality planning, auditing and quality evaluation, product design, vendor quality management, control and process improvement, education and training, quality circles, and focus on customer satisfaction. Furthermore, the factors were associated with four main organizational blocks. The survey was applied to a sample of 200 schools from 657 institutions in the Province of Lima. The results revealed that no institution had a QMS and that only 13 were in the process of getting one. Therefore, the investigation was descriptive and it considered an analysis based on questions and answers about the level of compliance of each one of the nine key success factors of TQM using Z-statistics and the Cronbach’s Alpha. The study found out that secondary education public schools of the province of Lima did not have a high compliance level of the nine TQM key success factors. The Cronbach’s Alpha was 0.7 and it supports the validity and reliability of the results

Full textThis research aimed at identifying the level of compliance of the success factors of TQM in the sector of private secondary educational institutions of Peru from the perspective of their managers. For which the nine-factor model of TQM in the company developed by Benzaquén (2013) was used. For this purpose a questionnaire to thirty-five questions were applied to a sample of 361 institutions representing the total population of private secondary educational institutions in Peru in order to diagnose the current situation. In this descriptive quantitative research and non-experimental approach, the nine factors were evaluated TQM in the company, resulting in a 3.49 level of compliance in private secondary educational institutions in Peru. They are obtained the following factors that score above average: quality planning, quality management provider, control and process improvement, quality circles and customer satisfaction approach, demonstrating an improvement in the interest of the sector consider TQM in quality management system

Full textIn 2011 the Secondary College "President of Peru" was a Project of the Ministry of Education that brought together the top posts of the different public schools of the regions of the country, in order to train citizens with a prospective look and based on the principles of regular Basic Education of Peru. The purpose of this research study is to analyze the educational management strategies implemented by the Secondary College President of Peru during the years 2012 to 2019, in response to the difficulties of school life satisfaction and the coping strategies that determined the permanence of students from the 3rd, 4th and 5th year of the Secondary Level in the Ministry of Education Project during the academic year 2011. The research answers the following questions, What were the levels of school life satisfaction, what were the coping strategies that students developed to stay at the College and what educational management strategies were implemented to promote student satisfaction?; quantitative and qualitative methodological strategies were used to acquit these questions; questionnaire, audio and direct interview tools were applied to the unit of analysis (120 students), and to representatives of the educational management of the project. Among the main findings of the research we can mention the following: a group of sad students, with health problems and other related indispositions mainly, because of longing for their families; as well as a group of students who are satisfied to recognize that they have the opportunity to achieve their goals and objectives in life. In relation to the educational management strategies that were implemented from 2012 to 2019, they began with the decentralization of the project to other regions, through the modality of High Performance Schools - COAR, implementing and homogenizing educational strategies, for the process of adapting to coexistence and academic aspects.

Full textThe purpose of this Investigation is to identify whether private high schools which employ a Quality Management System [QMS] have a major level of compliance of the nine TQM factor studied, compared to those that don't have a QMS. For this investigation is has been used Benzaquen´s study on Total Quality Management Success Factors (2013 a), which was used in the longitudinal study where nine elements of quality in Peruvian companies, between 2006 and 2011, were compared. This research employs a quantitative, correlational, and not experimental – cross – sectional approach. It was applied to a sample of 221 educational institutions in Lima Metropolitana, of a total population of 2064. The main hypothesis of this study was "private secondary schools Metropolitan Lima with QMS, have significant differences in the quality factors those without a QMS." The result of the investigation concluded that the main hypothesis was true, that is if there are significant differences in the performance of nine quality factors between groups; The differences between the mean of the educational institutions with a Quality Management System and those without one are in a range between 0.73 and 1.36, giving the biggest difference in the factor Senior Management, and the smallest difference in the factor Product Design; as a result of the implementation of the survey showed that the average mean of the nine factors of educational institutions that have a Quality Management System was 4.05, this value is higher than the average of institutions education that do not have one that was 3.04.

Full textThe aim of this study is to identify the conceptions of school discipline in a group of students from a private school in Lima which implements a reward and punishment discipline system. Twelve students from primary and secondary were interviewed using an unstructured interview guide which included questions about the notion of school discipline and its objectives. The results show that primary participants conceive school discipline as "something" related to good behavior, whereas secondary participants are able to recognize it as a set of rules. For both groups, the objective of school discipline is to reduce the incidence of disruptive behaviors that generate disorder and undermine the learning process. The participants' conceptions that may lead to this particular understanding of school discipline are discussed from the piagetian conception of moral autonomy. This study concludes with recommendations for the school and future lines of research.
