Although they mostly function separately, there is an overlap between the two in terms of HE provision. The educational needs of Asian Pacific American students in higher education frequently are not addressed because of being viewed as a "model minority." Thus, student services and academic support programs are oftentimes not appropriately provided for Hmong students.
